They say all good things come to an end, and this is one of those things. We've loved sharing our thoughts on life in podcast format, but have decided to continue Say So Collective in a different format (we promise more details to come as we flesh everything out). Thank you all for riding with us and listening to each episode as they went live. It's bittersweet, but pivoting is something we will always advocate for if it is necessary. With that said, we'll see y'all over on our socials with more details on our next steps!Follow us on Instagram: @sayso_collectiveFollow the Hosts: @thedailyseyi, @aminamarie, & @yvettecorinne
Black History Month this year was...quiet to say the least. In 2021, we saw brands throwing out campaigns left and right to Black creators as a means to rectify the diversity and inclusion issues that were brought to light in 2020, but it kinda feels like that momentum somehow came to a screeching halt. We dive more into our disappointment with the lack of #BHM campaigns that we saw and what it actually means to be inclusive and an ally in the influencer space. Spoiler alert: it's more than posting a black square in solidarity.Follow us on Instagram: @sayso_collectiveFollow us Hosts: @thedailyseyi, @aminamarie, & @yvettecorinne
Oh to be an influencer. To share things that we love and to get to work with brands that we've always admired. And then there's the transparency. Sharing more about our personal struggles, wins, triumphs, and losses. But...do we sort of give up these boundaries in order to be an influencer?? Is it necessary for us to share every single detail pertaining to our lives in order to be considered transparent and authentic? And what if people start to cross those boundaries and feel that they have access to things that you never talked about? We share our thoughts on this and what we actually feel comfortable sharing online and things we like to keep to ourselves.
Kicking off S2 with Seyi entering her dating era! To know her is to know that this is a pretty big deal. Our girl Yvette is now a married woman (remember S1, E12 when she talked about her and her husband's journey as a couple)! And Amina made a pretty big life change that we like to call entering her self love era. Honestly, so much has changed in less than 6 months and we are getting right into it with this episode. So buckle up, grab some tea/coffee, and maybe a snack or two because THE GANG IS BACK! :)

Long overdue topic? Maybe! In this episode we talk about all of our current relationship statuses (or current based on the recording of this episode) and our thoughts on giving ultimatums to your significant other. Is it something that is necessary? Can it produce a positive result or will it just yield contempt?Yvette talks about her relationship with her now fiancé and their journey to getting to this next phase.Amina shares more about her experience from being in a longer term relationship to now being engaged.Seyi shares more insight into the single life (spoiler alert...humbling).Follow us on Instagram @sayso_collectiveFollow the Hosts: @thedailyseyi, @aminamarie, @yvettecorinne
Unpopular opinion: it's ok to not hit your goals. It's ok to step away from a goal and reevaluate. It's even ok to pivot from a goal. We get very honest about some of the goals we haven't hit, how they made us feel, and how we are focused on pushing forward.
#SelfCare has been all over social media for the past several years, but maybe there's a reason it seems we need so much of it. Today we're sharing our own personal Self Love Journeys that have surpassed Self Care and made us realize that true self care and self love is a journey, not an activity. Weigh in on your own Self Love Journey and what you've learned at @sayso_collective on IG!
We are talking all things freelance + entrepreneurship and how we each prepared for the transition. From unexpectedly being let go of a job to the overwhelming feeling of wanting to quit, we share our individual stories of how we went from a traditional career to where we are now, and the tips that helped make the transition easier! And we answer the age old questions "is there ever really a 'right' time to make that leap"??
We've all been a victim to it. The constant push to hustle, hustle, hustle. The rhetoric that if we aren't working, then we somehow aren't fulfilling our potential (or our purpose). In this episode, we share how hustle culture has impacted our work as influencers and how it's shaped our personal lives. As we get deeper into the conversation, you'll hear our perspective on how we are actively working to not feed into the "grind or die" lifestyle, and what that actually looks like.
"That toxic person, we're walking the other way". In this episode, we get into the toxic positivity movement and how it can be more of a detriment than helpful, especially on social media.
No = a full sentence. In this episode, we're talking all about Boundaries and the importance of saying that powerful two letter word. Boundary setting is not easy, but finding out why it might be hard for you and relearning how to incorporate it into your life is so liberating. Let's get into it!
In this 2nd part to our Comparison episode, we talk about what it's like to be in our 30s and what career and personal milestones our younger selves thought would happen by the time we hit 30. We debunk some of the myths that come along with hitting this age, leaving you feeling encouraged as you prepare to enter, or continue through your 30s.
There's a tendency to feel some level of shame when you find yourself comparing your life to someone else's. It's something that we all feel from time to time, so why do we feel so bad?? In today's episode we get very open and transparent about this feeling, how we have each dealt with the comparison bug, and the steps we are taking to positively move forward.
Raise your hand if navigating adult friendships has required a bit more effort than when we were younger? In this episode, we share our thoughts on each of our respective friendships and our friendship with one another. It's no secret that making new friends is harder outside of school, but we share some tips on how to make lasting friendships in a new city & maintaining the ones we already have.
From getting to work with some of our favorite brands to the nuance of always being "on", we discuss the highs and lows of being an influencer and how we each show up as content creators in the social media sphere.
In the inaugural episode of the Say So Collective Podcast, we are diving right into sharing how we each have had to come to terms with our limiting beliefs and how they have had an impact on our daily lives. We share our fears of the unknown and the steps we are taking to move forward.
