The Flatbed Podcast is a long-form conversation hosted by Jordan Weaver with friends and guests from the western world and beyond.
The Flatbed Podcast is a fun and engaging podcast that offers a unique perspective on the team roping world. With its focus on up-and-coming things and people in this niche, it provides listeners with an exciting and informative experience. Whether you're at work or on your way there, this podcast will make you feel like you're right in the middle of the action at a jackpot event.
One of the best aspects of The Flatbed Podcast is its ability to capture the feeling of being at a roping event through its conversations. The hosts do a fantastic job of creating an atmosphere that feels as if you are right there, listening to guys chatting and visiting in between rounds. This adds an authentic touch to the podcast, making it feel like you are part of the community even if you are not physically present.
Another great aspect is the podcast's focus on showcasing up-and-coming talent in the team roping world. By highlighting these individuals and their stories, The Flatbed Podcast brings attention to those who may not have as large of a platform as more established figures. This provides listeners with fresh perspectives and insights into this competitive sport, making it a must-listen for anyone interested in team roping.
While The Flatbed Podcast has many positive aspects, one potential drawback is its narrow focus on team roping. If you are not already familiar with or interested in this particular sport, some episodes may not appeal to you as much. However, for those who are passionate about team roping or looking to learn more about it, this podcast offers valuable content.
In conclusion, The Flatbed Podcast is an enjoyable and informative listen for fans of team roping. Its ability to transport listeners to a jackpot event through engaging conversations is commendable. Although it may be limited in appeal for those outside the roping community, it remains a top choice for anyone looking for an entertaining podcast that delves into up-and-coming talent and the behind-the-scenes aspects of breakaway roping. I am excited to see what The Flatbed Podcast has in store for future episodes and how it will continue to provide a unique perspective on the team roping world.
Trust me on this. It's worth a listen. Kason has partnered with Cinch to bring "Cinch Breakaway Roping" into reality. I don't care what field, I'm a fan of innovative thinkers, and that's exactly what this guy and Cinch Jeans are all about.
Cowboy, horse trainer, amateur comedian, TikTok influencer, and all-around good dude. Wickenburg, Arizona has become a place for people just like Braxton to expand his borders, and this year we were all better for him having done it.
A deep dive into some really interesting questions about life, mental health, Godly concepts, and how roping is a metaphor for life. Truly a fun episode.
A really gifted young vet who has been making a name in the barrel racing, team roping, and performance horse world. I knew him back in his younger days, so it was fun to get to catch up on everything he's done since.
The man behind a pretty poorly worded Facebook post that went nuclear this week. Call it the 2025 good deed for Flatbed, but I wanted to hear from him and see if maybe what was said, and the storm that followed, wasn't exactly what he had intended. We're cowboys, and we've always let a man speak for himself. This episode is just honoring that standard.
One of those guys who everybody knows, has been around for a long time, but I didn't know a ton about. Had a great chat getting to know one of the most prolific horse trainers in professional team roping, Tanner Bryson!
Bucky Campbell... truly that is all, and that is plenty. Enjoy the most entertaining storyteller we've had on the podcast to date.
There are so many stories and careers that include the name Mike Jones! From a Jelly Belly trailer, to the private jet trips, to Jackal, the stories go on and on. We were lucky enough to sit down and hear a few of them!
We should all feel very fortunate to sit and listen to a legend like AQHA Hall of Famer, Bill Hill, walk us through his life story. In his 90's now, he talks about the years in the service, to bringing some of the best sires in the AQHA to the spotlight. I had a great time getting to sit and listen. Now it's your turn.
There are two names in the business of cowboy protection, Cody Webster and this man. I had a really good time sitting down with someone that the whole rodeo world has come to admire. There's nobody who wouldn't benefit from spending an hour listening to his story and philosophy on life.
The man who stepped in this year as president of Resistol, filling some HUGE shoes and is taking the whole brand in some amazing new directions, while maintaining the tradition we have all come to appreciate from the Resistol brand.
When you think of all the momentum that's surrounding the breakaway roping, the face of that movement is Kelsie Domer. Just a freaking dominant force that's bringing this sport to the forefront
If you listen to one podcast this whole year, make it this one. A guy who's Cowboy'd on 6 continents, and would probably make it 7 if Antarctica ever gets cattle. PLEASE trust me…this is the one
Canadian team roper, social media personality, and just general entertainer stopped by to hang out and talk about everything from rodeo communication to burnout, to his future in the communication wing of the Western industry
I said it at the time: This couple is the podcast we didn't know we needed. NFR header and his truly hilarious and sweetheart wife Christeena stopped by, and it was awesome from the word go.
One of the most gifted visual storytellers in our industry Maggie is making a name for herself behind the camera at the Cowboy Channel. When we HAVE seen her in front of it she's no less talented. Happy to have had the chance to catch up with her
Rumpchat, Cowboy Mafia, Everything Rodeo, and the Flatbed all in one place. We all landed on the same stage and got to discuss the ins and outs of podcasts in this space, it was a really fun episode. (Well, four episodes in one)
The man whose legacy needs no introduction, excited that we got him tracked down. It's one of those episodes we all love, full of old rodeo stories
NFR bulldogger and the mastermind behind Pro Fantasy Rodeo and Rodeo Vegas. (Wait, Snoop Dogg is playing Rodeo Vegas this year?) KC is a rare combination of talent inside the arena, and true innovative genius outside of it. There's no such thing as a favorite episode because all of them are so different, but this is for sure one of the most entertaining episodes we've ever had.
Seven-time NFR qualifier and assistant coach to the Rattlers, the Fort Worth-based PBR team. There are just some episodes that I selfishly enjoy because it connects so much to my own life and experiences. This episode is that. It was awesome getting to catch up with an old friend and hear more stories and details since the last time we talked
The Hondo Rodeo FestThe man behind the latest installment of a huge stand-alone rodeo music event coming to Phoenix at Chase Field November 7-9th. Just a freaking rank episode about a guy and an event we are excited to get behind.
Let's be clear…Cole Patterson lives up to the hype. I know this sounds cheesy, but I don't care, there are world champions in the arena and there are WC's in life and Cole is both. One of my personal favorites and I know you'll understand why, check it out
One of the rockstars in the world of calf roping horse training, and arguably one of the nicest guys you'd ever hope to meet. Truly a pleasure to get to sit and visit with him, glad we get to share this one
A couple of young guys making a huge splash in the calf roping world, one has his first NFR wrapped up, and Cole could do the same this weekend at The Governors Cup in Sioux Falls. Great podcast
Fresh Off of what has to seem like a life-changing win at The Pendleton Round-Up Preston talks about the battles leading up to it, and life outside of just the rodeo world. It's fun to see it when a guy is willing to be open and honest about the whole story not just the clips that make social media.
One of the biggest personalities in the Western world opens up about WAY more than just announcing rodeos, and creating social media content. It's fun when an episode takes an unexpected deep dive, you'll love Jesiah “Cheecho Nation” Zapata if you didn't already.
The Bull is one of the most prolific figures in the history of the American Mafia… underboss to John Gotti in the Gambino family, and a man who walked away from the entire business when his boss turned on him. This episode is part 1 where he discusses his life now after leaving the Family. This is truly a banner episode for the podcast
You aren't supposed to pick favorites so here's what I'll say…if, like me, you were a calf roping fan between the years of 1999-present I suspect this could be the episode for you. One of the current godfathers of calf roping from he won, to the horses he had, to the people he's helped bring up this episode is a calf roping fan's dream podcast. Huge shoutout to Justin for taking the time to sit down and do it
One of the most entertaining talents the PBR has ever had (in my humble opinion) and for sure one of the most talented music guys in all of Western sports. I had a blast recording this, and I'm sure you'll agree. He's awesome
Guys like Marty are why this podcast exists, one of the nicest and certainly one of the most talented people you might not have ever heard of. Selfishly this is one that I personally was looking forward to for a long time, glad we finally got it recorded
I won't lie…I walked into Performance Diesel without knowing what I was about to experience. Hands down the most masculine/clean/kind businesses I've ever seen, and some of the greatest people I've ever met. The culture they have created there is truly inspiring. This podcast with the owner Jarad, the mastermind behind it, is truly worth the listen.
Hands down the most electric header in the PRCA right now, the Southeast has a history of producing some gunslingers but maybe none more so than Dustin. He's in the middle of a great year coming off a respectable Fourth of July. Happy for you to hear it
14x NFR qualifier in calf roping Shane is and has been one of the very top guys in the PRCA for well over a decade. We caught him while he was in Calgary for a few days (6.7 in the first round) and talked about everything from horses to friendships to his foray into the culinary world. Great podcast, can't wait to share it.
A journeyman heeler and former BFI champion Wyatt Cox is having a breakthrough year with a legendary partner in Chad Masters. We caught up with him at Prineville to talk about what this year has meant and ended up talking a lot about the mental elements that keep you on top through a full summer of rodeoing
After years of frustration with the public schools, and watching the ways that politics have slowly found their way into classrooms people like Stephanie Lindsey are a breath of fresh air. She shared some of the same concerns, so after years in the education field launched the JML school that targets students as individuals rather than numbers and data points right here in Wickenburg Arizona. (But available anywhere online)
Just a LOT of star power in one episode, and some amazing insight and behind-the-scenes information. We've had fun recording these, but this episode went to a new level for all of us here at the Flatbed Podcast
A pretty star studded line up for day two of the Kid Rock Rock ‘N Rodeo in review…it's been great getting to hear the same story told from so many different perspective.
The first installment of a brand new format, we have all been talking about the rodeo that just happened in Arlington with the PBR and Kid Rock. So what the heck, why not record those conversations and let y'all in on them.
26 years in a row he finished in the top five in the world standings, and four times he ended the year as the World Champion heeler From his life of coaching and innovation to the battles he faced in the years following a traumatic stroke to his life now as he sets up his sunset years in Arizona. Alan is truly the definition of a legend.
One of the best headers to ever come out of Canada, and for sure one of the more mentally analytical people we've ever sat down with on the podcast. Truly an episode that I enjoyed getting to be a part of, and learn from.
The superstar television producer from the Cowboy Channel, and probably the leading candidate for most fascinating women in the Western industry. We've tried a few times to get this podcast lined up and finally succeeded, let me just say well worth the wait!
By far one of the most fascinating tours we have ever had since the podcast started with Justin Thomason, the plant manager for Resistol. We got to see the hats being built from start to finish and hear Justin's story of how he came to Resistol. It was like a dual podcast of his life and the culture of a company we all know. It was a great day hanging out with a super cool guy. Don't miss it
Dan and Kalina are the definition of “insider baseball” for our industry. Ranchers, horse trainers, part-time duck herders, just an overall amazing podcast that at times went deeper and more personal than I think any of us expected
One of my favorite people on Planet Earth…one of the smartest ranchers. He and his wife Mary are great horsemen and the kindest people I know. I truly love him, and I'm so excited to introduce him to you guys.
From growing up in a ranching family in California to a full-blown career with the PBR, the Indianapolis 500, and now with Teton Ridge and his role as the General Manager of the Arizona Ridge Riders PBR team. Casey is for sure a finalist for the most interesting man to ever wear a cowboy hat!
A guy whose life sounds more like a mad lib than reality, his father was Tommy Lucia (the mastermind behind Whiplash the monkey who rode a dog), and going on to become the 2023 PRCA Announcer of the Year. But more than any of that, truly just a very special human being. It's one of my personal favorites that we've ever recorded.
When old rodeo buddies swing by they make for some of the best episodes, from rancher, team roper, and fence builder Rob comes from an old-school rodeo family. Great time hanging out with him
One of my top five votes for most interesting man alive, from his upbringing in the neighborhood where they filmed the Sopranos, to a life of building business and being an absolute WIZARD with taxes and accounting you owe it to yourself to listen to this episode. ESPECIALLY if you have ever had tax questions related to our sport
You have to love it when the Western world produces businesses in other fields, in this case, it's Mikey Fletcher and Brody Self who have created “Daily Dog Fights” an award-winning golfing app that's set to change the ways friends play golf. From the junior ropings in Johnson County Texas, to nights in Las Vegas with Anna Nicole Smith on E! there was a ton of fun had. Also, by far the best bonus episode we have ever had.
One of the most fascinating entrepreneurs in the history of the Western industry. The man who brought us Martin Saddlery, and also possibly the #1 customer in Wickenburg's golfing community, we had a great time hearing the whole story. Huge shoutout to Trey Norris for helping get it lined up.
