Christian Polanco and Alexis Guerreros react live to France's commanding 3-1 victory over AFCON giants Senegal at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Kylian Mbappé stole the headlines with a brilliant brace, but the guys break down the six biggest takeaways from an entertaining clash between two of the tournament's most talented teams. What did France prove? And what positives can Senegal take despite the defeat? Next, Christian and Alexis reveal their Player of the Match selections—and for once, they don't agree. One host believes Mbappé's two-goal performance deserves the honor, while the other argues that Michael Olise's creativity and influence made him the most important player on the pitch. The guys also hand out their stock up and stock down awards, identifying which players and trends should have fans excited—or concerned—moving forward. To wrap up the show, The Cooligans look ahead to the next matches for both France and Senegal and ask the biggest question coming out of Matchday 1: have Les Bleus officially become the favorites to win the 2026 FIFA World Cup? With Mbappé firing and the squad loaded with talent, Christian and Alexis debate whether anyone can stop France from lifting another trophy. W/C 8th June 2026Because this week is a bit of an 'on location' episode I didn't get around to mentioning a few other things.Firstly, the parking notice appeared for APCOA who handle the parking at Manchester Airport, a cool £100 fine for genuinely forgetting to pay the £5 charge. As it turns out I was in the parking zone for 2 minutes and thirty-five seconds. I may well still share my thoughts on this further down the road...Secondly, and before heading off, it was Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit in Manchester at Bridgewater Hall. Everything about it was sublime, the venue, the setlist, the band and the man himself. He played a few 'band versions' of songs from his latest release, a solo acoustic album called Foxes in the Snow, and I can't think of a better way to name this week's episode than to share one of those songs. Especially as I don't recall a pertinent song about overhead lockers of very big barges.Stay safe.Crimson and Clay - Jason Isbell (Solo Version)Crimson and Clay - Jason Isbell (Band Version)Therapy For Me (or TFM as I now refer to it) is a bit of an audio curiosity. It started out as a mechanism for me to clear my head, with the hope that by saying stuff out loud it would act as a little bit of self-help. It's remains loose in style, fluid in terms of content and raw - it's a one take, press record and see what happens, affair. If you want to keep in touch with TFM and the other stuff I do then please follow me on Facebook, Insta, Twitter or Patreon. W/C 1st June 2026So I was in a hotel on Tuesday night, and I did that thing where I was just flicking through the TV channels and I chanced upon a film I hadn't seen in a long time. In this case it was The Hunt for Red October, and although I hadn't planned to, I settled back and gave myself over to a film I had seen many times before.Personally I think it is a belting movie, great cast and really nicely put together, and just the right thing for that particular moment. What's nice about those kind of happy accidents, is that I would never have been able to tell you thats what I wanted to watch - it needed to be a serendipitous experience.I love it when that happens.Stay safe.As The Dawn Breaks - Richard Hawley Therapy For Me (or TFM as I now refer to it) is a bit of an audio curiosity. This time we have OPINIONS. Namely on the new Liverpool shirt and the adidas World Cup BringBack collection. But there's also time for Mike to share his joy at Aston Villa winning a European Cup title, and for discussion on Arsenal's oh-so-close loss to PSG.Plus we discuss the devastating news that the Curaçao away shirt isn't due to be worn in the WC group stages. And finally, once again Mike recommends a horror film, and Adam recommends a British comedy you've absolutely already seen as it came out ages ago.Follow us on our new socials: @kitsarealright on Insta and X.

W/C 25th May 2026I like things in group of threes or fives is possible. So the fact that naming this week's pod Thunderstruck means I have four touchpoints to the AC/DC classic is a little unsettling. The first is the song itself, absolute banger - no disagreement allowed. The second is the fact that it was used spectacularly well in the soundtrack of the Pixar film Planes. The third is excellent interpretation by those chaps known as 2Cellos, stunning stuff. And finally we have my thundery run, which you are going to hear about today. Which means I am on the look-out for a fifth just to resolve the symmetry conundrum.Stay safe.Thunderstruck - AC/DCThunderstruck - 2CellosTherapy For Me (or TFM as I now refer to it) is a bit of an audio curiosity. W/C 17th May 2026There is something so satisfying about wandering around selecting the wood I need for a project, getting stuff cut to size and whipping out my 5m measure to check some widths.I appreciate it's more than likely a bloke thing, and probably only one that hobbyists get a buzz from, but we have a cracking example in Huddersfield and the cohort that work there are super helpful. This morning I need fence palings and some stuff for a decking frame. Happy days.Stay safe.Bangaranga - Dara
The biggest buzz at the London Marathon this year wasn't just the racing, it was around Nomio. It's a performance shot used by athletes like Cole Hocker and Conner Mantz. Nomio is used before their key sessions and races, whether it's breaking the American Marathon record or getting WC gold in Tokyo. If you want to check it out yourself, it's at drinknomio.com and if you're in Australia or New Zealand, you can find it at Aid Station, and over at The Running Company. This weekend's interview on the Inside Running Podcast, Brad Croker sits down with Olympic silver medallist Evan Jager for an in-depth conversation on one of the most unique careers in distance running. Evan Jager is one of America's most accomplished distance runners, best known for his dominance in the 3000m steeplechase. An Olympic silver medallist at the Rio 2016 Games, Jager broke a 28-year-old American record in the event and became a consistent force on the global stage, regularly competing against the world's best. Coached for much of his career by Jerry Schumacher as part of the Bowerman Track Club, Jager has also claimed multiple U.S. national titles and represented the United States at several World Championships and Olympic Games. Known for his smooth hurdling technique and tactical racing, he remains one of the most respected steeplechasers of his generation. Orlando with a Win and a draw heads out to the open cup and final game before WC break
W/C 11th May 2026A thought struck me as I was walking through Charles de Gaulle airport last week. I wondered how far I was standing (at that precise moment, in that exact spot) from somebody that I knew, but was unaware of.And not just that moment, maybe the last time I was in London or in Leeds, or on holiday or on the train, etc, etc.Clearly with the tech we have at our disposal we can (to an extent) answer that question with stuff such as location sharing, and snap-maps. But that only works with an engaged friendship group, and not necessarily everybody we have ever come into some form of contact with.So the question remains, how close do we pass to people we are acquainted with, but never actually bump into. Was an old school friend also passing through CDG at the same time as me last week, or taking coffee in Headingley yesterday whilst I was at the cricket, or being stuck in the same queue as me on the M1 on Tuesday evening.Answers on a postcard please.Stay safe.Honesty - Billy JoelTherapy For Me (or TFM as I now refer to it) is a bit of an audio curiosity. It started out as a mechanism for me to clear my head, with the hope that by saying stuff out loud it would act as a little bit of self-help. Before turning to the roads, he won back-to-back NCAA Cross Country titles at BYU and represented the United States at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Coached by Ed Eyestone and competing for Nike, Mantz has become the dominant force in American men's marathoning. W/C 4th May 2026There are so few opportunities to use this particular song as an episode title (this is certainly the first since I started TFM) that I snatched at it, without hesitation. As a guitar player as was well aware of Gary Moore, and whilst not a card-carrying devotee, I was certainly more than aware of the range and depth of his work. I got to see him play live once, at the Montreux Jazz Festival in July 2010, and he certainly lived up to his reputation. What I didn't know at the time was that it would be his last ever recorded performance, as he would die less than a year later in Estepona, he was 58. I have spent quite a lot of time there, it is a place I really like, and yet I had no idea of that part of the story.I have included footage of that performance alongside side the original for no other reason than I was there, and finding it took underscored the poignancy of that night.Stay safe.Parisenne Walkways (featuring Phil Lynott) - Gary MooreParisienne Walkways (Montreux Jazz Festival, 2010) - Gary MooreTherapy For Me (or TFM as I now refer to it) is a bit of an audio curiosity.
