I've been thinking a lot about the phrases and thoughts I hear repeated often that are simply not tied to any evidence of truth. So, in this episode, I hope to maybe offer a little bit of insight on just a few of the things people let hold them back daily. A few examples I talk about are:"I can't workout because my knees are 'bad'""I've not been feeling well, but I eat a lot of vegetables and drink kombucha so it can't be food related.""I can't do curls because I have weak wrists.""I'm clinically diagnosed with anxiety and depression, so exercise or food won't help."The problem with these thought patterns and taglines I hear so often, is they have blatant disregard for the incredible capabilities that our bodies have to not just heal in amazing ways, but to completely go beyond what we would consider our usual limits and abilities. The human body is a complex machine, but I promise you, there is (almost) always a way to improve and often reverse your situation from whatever ailment or "diagnosis" you might receive.Support the show (https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=AWKDCLBPNVT3E)

Myth or Fact: Fruit is Just Sugar

In this episode I explore the heated ongoing debate that I hear all too often. Is fruit just the same as processed sugar at the end of the day? After a deep dive and hours of research, I am convinced that fruit does NOT effect us in the same ways that simple processed sugars do, and in this episode, I review a few studies that suggest this. One of them actually looks at the insulin resistance and glucose regulation in diabetic patients over 4 years, and has some pretty amazing results.Take the dive with me on this topic and let me know what you think. The biggest known threat to our gut health

Play Episode Play 30 sec Highlight Listen Later Mar 3, 2022 43:25

In this episode, I wanted to dive deeper on what I believe is one of the greatest detriments to our human health. This topic is slowly become more engrained in the health and wellness community, but I'm on a mission to bring this to the public as much as possible to hopefully help some people take control of their health. Seed oils are a relatively new part of our human diet, and it has recently become recognized as a major issue for many reasons. In this discussion, I explore the following topics:When did seed oils become introduced to our population? Why are they so harmful to our health? How are they produced?I also discuss how Procter and Gamble was the company that overturned the legal label of "toxic waste" that seed oils had in the 1870's when they wanted to use their byproducts to make soap, and eventually in the 1940's they paid the American Heart Association off with 1.5 million dollars to produce studies that touted the health benefits of seed oil consumption in spite of the evidence showing quite the opposite.Support the show (https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=AWKDCLBPNVT3E)

Are food labels lying to us?

Play Episode Play 40 sec Highlight Listen Later Feb 22, 2022 40:02

I wanted to go back to basics for this episode and discuss one of the first problems I learned about in my younger years. The FDA has had a history of loose laws around the labeling of our foods, and as one might imagine, corporate incentives have motivated companies to take advantages of those loopholes. Things like "All Natural", "Heart healthy", or "Superfoods" on labels often tend to give people incorrect assumptions about those particular products and what they contain. I decided to take a deeper dive into our Public Medical database and see what kind of information had been presented by doctors and scientists on the matter, and I was not surprised to find that it is a very defunct subject that needs much attention if we want to make our society a healthier place both physically, and mentally. Support the show (https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=AWKDCLBPNVT3E)

In this episode I decided to look at some recent research from the past few years which is confirming what many have suspected for decades. The idea that our gut health is directly related to our mental health is starting to take root, and proving to be more substantial than previously perceived. This evidence is exciting because it may present a clear path to healing people from "mental illnesses" by simply healing their gut. Take a ride with me while I first visit the corruption in our food industry, and then discuss this new and exciting evidence.

I took last week off again due to an unfortunate event in which I was left concussed. I thought this episode would be a good chance to talk about something that is often overlooked when we think about fellow humans, our loved ones, and friends. This thing called "head trauma," "CTE," or "Post concussion syndrome," is a prevalent factor in the behavior of human beings and it should be widely considered when we think about people as "good" or "bad." In my life I've suffered a few concussions, and have had at least 3 specific ones that impacted my behavior and cognitive function over time. This most recent one really woke me up to what was going on and so I thought I'd share what it was like to recognize it within an hour after the incident and then going down a rabbit hole of information on the subject. Support the show (https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=AWKDCLBPNVT3E)
