This episode is one we wish we didn't have to make. We are no strangers to speaking about our time in the “bubble” and in the wake of the premier of the documentary “Let Us Prey: A Ministry of Scandals” we felt this episode was very much due. The aftermath of all that we endured in the Independent Fundamental Baptist movement is something we ourselves are still processing and learning from. Join us as we discuss our past experiences from growing up at FBC Hammond, Hammond Baptist Schools, and HAC. We stand with each and every victim of sexual, verbal, and emotional abuse regardless of the environment in which it occurred.

Growing up in hispanic households, We are soooo used to hearing the same "Do's and Don'ts" like...Don't go outside with your hair wet, Don't walk around the house barefoot as these things will make you catch a cold, Or Don't place your purse on the floor or you'll be broke. etc. etc.We sit down and go over Superstitions that can bring good/bad luck. That's right you heard it in the title. The girls sit down and talk about their beginning of social media…good ‘ole MySpace. Remember when you could customize your background, add a matching music video, and update your mood so everyone knew how you were currently feeling? Or what about arranging your top 8 friends and slapping stickers on random people walls…oh the good days! Those days were shortly lived for the girls and were a permanent mark on their high school transcripts. (You'll find out why). Now that they all have kids find out how they navigate this life in a world where social media is life for some people. Send us your thoughts! 

In-laws, can't live with them and can't live without them….or can we? The girls sit down and talk about the wonderful world of having In-laws. The girls all pictured when they got married that things would almost be rainbows and butterflies marrying into another family. But the reality of it all isn't a walk in the park.  The girls discuss setting boundaries, the ups and downs of building a relationship, and where they're at now, since they're 10-15 years deep of trying to build a bond. Can you relate?

Join us on this emotional rollercoaster as we listen to one of our hosts preemie story. Her and her daughter Charlotte spent almost 2 months in the hospital and their journey was far from easy. Through many ups and downs and daily battles... Charlotte is now a thriving 4 year old. 1 out of 10 babies is born prematurely and 60% of them survive. Help us spread awareness on this sensitive subject.

Religion. Did you ever grow up in a community and just know you were different from all the other people around you?? We did. Skirts must be past your knees and shirts to your neck, you control men's thoughts by what you wear and how you act, phones are to be used in the hallways not your room, you might not graduate because you have a Myspace page!?! These are just a few of the crazy things we endured growing up in “the bubble”. Don't get it twisted though, we aren't bitter or angry. We are the type of women that CHOSE to rise above the bullshit and let our past experiences make us stronger! So, come listen to us share what it was like growing up in such a religious environment and how it molded us into the amazing women that we are today, despite our challenges.
