In this episode of Passionate & Prosperous, I'm sitting down with my friend Laura Belgray — OG in the online business world, Queen of storytelling, founder of Talking Shrimp, and author of Tough Titties — for a conversation that covers a lot of ground (on purpose!)Yes, we talk about email marketing — why your email list still matters, why emails don't have to be boring or “salesy,” and how selling to your list can feel normal, relational, and very human. But I also wanted to give Laura the space to really share how she built her Passionate & Prosperous life and business. We get the inside scoop on Laura's business evolution: what it was like in the early days of the online business space, figuring things out as she went, creating offers by listening closely to what people were responding to, and building a business by taking action, trusting her instincts, and being unapologetically herself. We also talk a lot about writing and storytelling and Laura shares her perspective on finding your voice, showing the journey as it unfolds, and why your emails (and content overall) get to sound like a real person wrote them. Frequency, consistency, trust, connection — it's all part of the same ecosystem. If you care about building a business around what you're actually good at, creating opportunities instead of waiting for permission, and leaning into relationships as a growth strategy, you'll get a lot out of this one.In this episode, we talk about:Laura's business evolution and what it really looked like to build as she wentThe early days of online business (and learning by doing)Why email lists are still one of the most valuable assets you haveSelling to your email list without making it weirdStorytelling, voice, and being unapologetically yourself in your writingHow consistency and frequency build familiarity and trustCreating offers by paying attention to real audience responseIn classic Passionate & Prosperous style, this episode is a reminder that there's no formula for building a great business — it's built by showing up, experimenting, trusting and being willing to take action before you know “how” it's all going to turn out!Join Laura in NYC for her Bingeworthy Live Writing Retreat March 22 and 23, 2026!You can also connect with Laura through her website and on Instagram.Get Full Show Notes, Event Sign Ups and More Information Here.

Send us a textEpisode #01 // Season:2026In this episode, Luba, Founder and CEO of Bryght, sits down with Ashley, a woman who has held many roles in her life. Former employee, chosen family, and now one of her closest friends. They met over 15 years ago, when neither woman could have predicted where life would take them. Fast forward to now and they are standing in two very different chapters. Both single. Both thriving. One raising a child. The other intentionally child free. Each living a life that looks nothing like the one they imagined back then. And yet the parallels are impossible to ignore. This conversation is raw, funny, reflective, and unapologetically honest. They talk about how friendship evolves when roles shift, from coworkers to confidantes to women who had to redefine boundaries. What it means to outgrow old versions of yourself and sometimes each other. Dating in today's world, the confusion, the chemistry, and the contradictions. They dig into what actually defines a one night stand. Is it about time, intention, or emotional access. Due dates, deadlines, and the invisible timelines women are told to live by. Older men versus younger men and why neither category guarantees emotional maturity.Luba brings her CEO energy, lived experience, and zero tolerance for bullshit. Ashley brings motherhood, clarity, and the grounded perspective of a woman who knows exactly what she will and will not accept.Different lives. Different choices. Same self trust. Same growth. Same refusal to settle. This is not girl talk.It is a womanhood conversation about desire, independence, friendship, and choosing yourself at every stage.Pull up a chair. This one hits.

Jes Staley has repeatedly argued that he was unfairly railroaded by his association with Jeffrey Epstein, portraying himself as collateral damage in a scandal he claims was exaggerated and mischaracterized. In public statements and court filings, Jes Staley has insisted that his relationship with Epstein was overstated, that he had no knowledge of Epstein's criminal conduct, and that the fallout cost him his career and reputation unjustly. Staley has framed the allegations as a narrative pile-on—suggesting that regulators, banks, and the media needed a single, convenient figure to absorb blame once Epstein's crimes became impossible to ignore. Those denials, however, collapse under the weight of the documented facts. Emails, travel records, and testimony show that Staley maintained a far closer and longer relationship with Jeffrey Epstein than he publicly acknowledged, including repeated personal contact well after Epstein's 2008 conviction. Evidence revealed during regulatory investigations and litigation contradicts Staley's claims of distance and ignorance, exposing a pattern of sustained engagement that undercuts his credibility. When set against the paper trail, Staley's insistence that he was merely an unlucky bystander rings hollow—less a case of being railroaded, and more an example of how implausible denials unravel once they're tested against emails, calendars, and sworn findings.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.com

We read emails from listeners, including one about us being doxed again.Link to BOOKS — System SpeakNOTE:  We also talked in the community about how the year of the horse does not start until later in the winter due to following the lunar calendar.  For me/us, that coincides with my "new year" (birthday, actual, not when celebrated) as well as our "new year" from when we moved last time (which brought the celebration back to actual). That led to a greater discussion about other cultures that also follow the lunar calendar, including both indigenous and Jewish calendars (with a new year in the fall instead of winter).  We talked about how sometimes “jumping calendars” can be helpful when dealing with hard days or anniversaries.Article about Hebrew calendar: Hebrew calendar - WikipediaArticle about Indigenous calendar: Samish 13 MoonsOur website is HERE:  System Speak Podcast. You can submit an email to the podcast HERE.Content Note: Content on this website and in the podcasts is assumed to be trauma and/or dissociative related due to the nature of what is being shared here in general.  Content descriptors are generally given in each episode.  Specific trigger warnings are not given due to research reporting this makes triggers worse.  Please use appropriate self-care and your own safety plan while exploring this website and during your listening experience.  Natural pauses due to dissociation have not been edited out of the podcast, and have been left for authenticity.  While some professional material may be referenced for educational purposes, Emma and her system are not your therapist nor offering professional advice.  Any informational material shared or referenced is simply part of our own learning process, and not guaranteed to be the latest research or best method for you.  Please contact your therapist or nearest emergency room in case of any emergency.  This website does not provide any medical, mental health, or social support services. ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

In this 2025 Year-in-Review Hidden Killers special, we break down two of the most devastating developments in the Donna Adelson trial — the explosive emails prosecutors say reveal her true motives, and the jaw-dropping testimony from her own children and Wendi's ex-boyfriend that shattered the family narrative she's tried to control for more than a decade. First, we examine the emails Donna sent to Wendi during the custody battle, messages prosecutors use to peel back the “sweet grandmother” facade. These emails — strategic, emotional, manipulative — show Donna instructing Wendi how to behave in court, urging her to use psychological tactics, floating a $1 million bribe to Dan Markel, and making relocation “non-negotiable.” As defense attorney Bob Motta explains, emails are powerful because they don't stutter, they don't forget, and they don't rewrite history. They sit in black-and-white, revealing a matriarch prosecutors say was accustomed to controlling every variable. Then we turn to the testimony that rocked the courtroom.  Wendi Adelson, testifying under subpoena and immunity, admitted her mother coached her relentlessly during the divorce and custody battles — everything from religion to courtroom performance. Robert Adelson followed, describing Donna as controlling, intrusive, and disturbingly detached after Dan's murder. He recalled her saying, “I don't know and I don't care,” when asked what she thought happened to Markel. And then came Jeffrey Lacasse, whose testimony lit the courtroom on fire. He recounted Wendi telling him: “The only way I'll ever relocate is if something happens to Danny.”  He also described Charlie discussing “all options,” including hiring a hitman. Prosecutors argue this trio of testimony exposes Donna not as a passive parent, but as the architect of a conspiracy powered by resentment, control, and entitlement — with her own family now delivering the evidence. This is the most revealing window yet into the Adelson family's internal dynamics — a portrait of loyalty cracking under the weight of truth. #DonnaAdelson #WendiAdelson #DanMarkel #TrueCrime #HiddenKillers #BobMotta #CourtroomDrama #MurderForHire #TrialCoverage #CrimeNews Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Ten co-conspirators...nine still walking free. Guards who slept through their shifts. Cameras that conveniently broke. And a Justice Department that can't keep its story straight for 48 hours. This episode breaks down Epstein news from the last week, why the White House went from celebrating to damage control in three days, and what all of this tells us about who really runs this country. Spoiler: it's not immigrants. It's not welfare recipients. It's not the trans kid at Target. It's the people on those flight logs, and they're still having brunch while you argue about pronouns. The Epstein case has always exposed one uncomfortable truth: powerful institutions often protect influential adults far more aggressively than they protect exploited children. In this explosive episode of Hidden Killers, Tony Brueski and former FBI Behavioral Analysis Program chief Robin Dreeke dissect the newly surfaced Epstein-related emails — not through political spin, but through the lens of psychology, behavioral analysis, and institutional dynamics. Dreeke explains how seasoned investigators would actually handle these emails: timelines, corroboration, interviews, behavioral markers, deception indicators, and triage of evidence. He breaks down why Epstein described Trump as “a dog that hasn't barked,” how predators routinely exaggerate or manipulate their associations for leverage, and why trained agents never take a single email at face value. But the deeper story is institutional psychology. Robin and Tony analyze what happens when agencies fall into secrecy reflexes, bureaucratic fear, and reputation-protection — especially after years of public mistrust stemming from the sweetheart plea deal, the lax supervision during Epstein's sex-offender monitoring, and the questions surrounding his jail death. The issue isn't politics; it's institutional self-preservation. Then the conversation widens with psychotherapist Shavaun Scott joining to explore institutional betrayal — the emotional and societal fallout when the public sees how systems failed to protect victims. From law enforcement to financial institutions to media ecosystems, the Epstein files reveal not just individual wrongdoing but systemic collapse. Shavaun breaks down why betrayal by trusted institutions causes deeper trauma than betrayal by individuals, why people defend public figures even against evidence, and what a victim-centered investigation should look like now. This episode isn't about left or right.  It's about truth vs. power, children vs. institutions, and the national reckoning waiting on the other side of the Epstein files. #HiddenKillers #EpsteinCase #EpsteinEmails #InstitutionalBetrayal #RobinDreeke #ShavaunScott #TonyBrueski #DOJ #FBI #CoverUpPsychology #TrueCrimeAnalysis #Accountability #PowerAndAbuse Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? In this 2025 Year-in-Review Hidden Killers special, Tony Brueski breaks down one of the most talked-about courtroom moments of the year: the opening statements in the high-stakes murder-for-hire trial of Donna Adelson. From the prosecution's meticulously crafted narrative to the defense's chaotic stumble out of the gate, this episode captures the full shockwave of a trial Florida—and the nation—can't stop watching. Prosecutors came out swinging, painting Donna not as a grieving grandmother swept into family conflict, but as the driving force behind the plot to kill Florida State law professor Dan Markel. They laid out motive, money, resentment, and years of escalating family turmoil. Emails revealed Donna's relentless pressure to relocate her daughter Wendi and the grandchildren to South Florida—pressure she once described as something she would “never, never, never give up” on. When persuasion failed, the State argues, she turned to a six-figure murder contract. The prosecution previewed phone records, financial trails, incriminating communications, and Donna's attempted one-way trip to Vietnam—presented not as coincidence, but as a calculated escape once the walls began to close in. Then came the defense. Their opening statement—highly anticipated after the State's precision—landed with a thud. Instead of offering a coherent counter-narrative, the defense drifted, circled, and repeated the same hollow refrain: “There is no evidence.” Attorney Jackie Fulford attempted to cast Donna as an innocent grandmother caught in her son Charlie's orbit, but the argument lacked structure, clarity, and force. Jurors appeared disengaged. Moments meant to reassure instead highlighted inconsistencies the prosecution is eager to exploit. This unified breakdown captures the full scope of a pivotal moment in the 2025 trial landscape: a prosecution ready for battle and a defense already fighting to regain footing. Is Donna Adelson the mastermind prosecutors claim—or is the defense simply outmatched from day one? #DonnaAdelson #DanMarkel #HiddenKillers #MurderTrial #CourtroomDrama #TrialCoverage #FloridaCrime #TrueCrimeCommunity #JusticeForDan Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video?

E18 - Congress required the Department of Justice to release (nearly) everything it had from the investigations into Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell by December 19th, so of course they pretended to do that on time on Friday afternoon and then waited until everyone was just about to start heading home for the holidays before actually dumping 30,000 pages of anything resembling actual substance into the record on Tuesday morning. We review and discuss new revelations on how much more time Trump spent on Epstein's plane than we ever knew, the 30-year-old FBI report that could have changed everything, the astonishing correspondence between the prosecution and the Epstein defense team throughout his 2008 plea negotiations, and so much more. CNN's Katelyn Polantz has learned the Justice Department's leadership asked career prosecutors in Florida Tuesday to volunteer over the “next several days” to help redact the Epstein files in the latest Trump administration push toward releasing the hundreds of thousands of photos, internal memos and other evidence around the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Virginia Democratic Rep. James Walkinshaw, who serves on the Oversight Committee, joins to talk about the latest developments.  Plus, Julie K. Brown, award-winning investigative reporter for the Miami Herald, whose work was instrumental in exposing the extent of Epstein's crimes, talks about the information that is coming out and the information that is being redacted. In this Voice of the Broken episode, Chris reads and responds to three raw listener emails that hit the real pressure points men carry, marriage separation and reconciliation, stepfamily tension, co-parenting boundaries, and the mental load of trying to lead your home while life keeps swinging. You'll hear a Patreon member share how writing his story, prioritizing quality time with his wife, and stepping up at work helped turn a failing marriage around, plus Chris's blunt coaching on staying present, dropping the future panic, and handling an ex with clear, firm boundaries. The episode also dives into a 39-year-old man's relationship history, porn addiction recovery, trust issues, and the desire to start a family later in life, with practical advice on values alignment, dating with intention, and why journaling is a non-negotiable tool for self-leadership. Finally, a 21-year-old Army reservist and mechanic shares a heavy upbringing marked by addiction, instability, and betrayal, and Chris breaks down how to protect your mental health, build real community, set boundaries with a toxic parent, and create friendships that match your standards, especially when you feel lonely and misunderstood.Disclaimer: We are not professionals. Hey, Neighbor, do you have any idea what Yuletide is? Never mind... Luke has been tinkering with John's new (used) car. Isn't it GREAT to have family members who can help you with skills you don't have yourself?! THEN: Showing John's video might have gotten a teacher fired... Kids need to be taught not to overreact and how to hold their bodies in a less-awkward way when they're on stage. (We list several other odd human behaviors, which maybe aren't so odd after all...) LATER: Some people don't have family because they have purposefully cut ties with everyone. We talk about why that's sad. Teach your kids to stay connected with their family! Emails us at nextdoor@johnbranyan.com to tell us what "odd" thing you do.
