Hosted by Andrew Quinn and Darren Mooney, this week joined by special guest Gerry Mooney, The 250 is a (mostly) weekly trip through some of the best (and worst) movies ever made, as voted for by Internet Movie Database Users. New episodes are released every second Saturday at 6pm GMT, with the occasional bonus episode between them. This time, George Roy Hill's The Sting. When a simple con leads to horrific consequences, amateur con artist Johnny Hooker vows to avenge himself on crime boss Doyle Lonnegan. Enlisting the help of over-the-hill veteran Henry Gondorff and a motley crew of small-time hoods, Hooker sets in motion an elaborate con game with potentially disastrous consequences. At time of recording, it was ranked the 100th best movie of all time on the Internet Movie Database.

The Warriors may have been taken out of the NRL playoff picture, but their NSW Cup side has made the final after a dominant season. They take on the Dragons in the Grand Final – the team they lost their Major Semi Final clash to just two weeks ago. The team is littered with talent, with several of the named players having spent time in the first grade side this year. One of those players is Sam Healey, and he joined D'Arcy to preview the final clash. LISTEN ABOVE See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

No. ¿Importa? Tampoco. From getting recruited as a broke Air Guard kid, to standing on flight lines wondering if forklifts win Bronze Stars, to suddenly pulling convoys through Route Irish with Navy SEALs and Rangers, Morgan lays it all out: the absurd, the grim, and the downright sketchy. The Rev. Canon George Maxwell leads this class. When we ask the question, “What is Anglican spirituality, and where does it begin?”, many instinctively look to the English Reformation. We think of Thomas Cranmer, the Book of Common Prayer, and the Elizabethan Settlement. These are indeed crucial moments, shaping the way Anglicans pray and order their life with God. But Rowan Williams often invites us to look further back, beneath the surface of the 16th century, into the deeper soil from which Anglican spirituality grows. He points out that Anglicanism is best described as a reformed Catholicism — a tradition that holds onto the catholic inheritance of the early church while reshaping it in the light of reform. If that is true, then Anglican spirituality cannot be confined to Cranmer and Hooker. It must be traced to the fathers and mothers of the early church, and in particular, to the great spiritual experiment of the desert tradition in Egypt, Syria, and Palestine in the 3rd and 4th centuries. Rowan Williams describes the desert tradition as a school of prayer and discipleship that continues to shape Christian life today. In his vision, the desert is the common wellspring of Christian spirituality — Benedictine, Catholic, Orthodox, and yes, Anglican. This Sunday we follow that line of thought: to see how the desert mothers and fathers, through monastic tradition, gave Anglicans their particular way of praying, believing, and living. We trace the journey from the desert of Antony and Syncletica, through Cassian and Benedict, to the cadences of Morning and Evening Prayer, to the lives of George Herbert and Evelyn Underhill, and finally, to Rowan Williams' own reframing for our age.

No surprise from All Blacks hooker Codie Taylor at the competitiveness of the Rugby Championship. All four countries enter the third round fixtures tomorrow with a one win, one loss record. Taylor told Mike Hosking it's a continuation of what occurred in 2024, with a loss to Argentina and South Africa both. He says it's always close, which is what you want with test footy, but the All Blacks need to be better. “That's what we're striving to be.” LISTEN ABOVE See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Detroit Lions 2025 Cutdown To Kickoff: Initial Breakdown Chris & Jeff cover the Lions' status shuffle of Hendon Hooker, roster cut drama, and depth-chart breakdown—a perfect setup for a new episode of the Detroit Lions Podcast. The Detroit Lions have executed their most critical roster maneuver of the year—trimming to the 53-man roster—and currently sit at 52 players ahead of the season kickoff. The most notable surprise was the release of quarterback Hendon Hooker, who enters free agency after a preseason marred by turnovers and inconsistency. Head coach Dan Campbell had already signaled a shift in the QB hierarchy toward Kyle Allen, and Hooker's performance sealed his fate. Other casualties included veteran tackle Dan Skipper, along with several developmental players who were unable to solidify roster spots. The Lions' final roster currently features three potential openings as they continue to evaluate waiver and practice squad possibilities. Depth Chart Moves and Players to Watch With the Detroit Lions roster in flux, attention now shifts to who solidified their place and who remains on the bubble. The most pressing spotlight falls on: Kyle Allen, now cemented as the clear backup QB following Hooker's release. Daniel Thomas, added to bolster special teams and safety depth, immediately becoming a name to watch for situational snaps. Edge depth was shored up with defensive linemen Tyler Lacy and Tyrus Wheat, potentially shifting the Detroit Lions depth chart in ways fans haven't yet calculated. Training Camp 2025 emphasized competition at every level, particularly with remaining developmental players and late-round picks fighting to define their roles. As the regular season draws nearer, every snap becomes a statement. For a complete rundown of all roster cuts, a deep dive into Hooker's release, and who moved up the charts as the Lions enter the final buildup before kickoff, tune in to this pivotal episode of the Detroit Lions Podcast.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GtmB3fjD900 Let us know what you think about the show by commenting in the podcast thread in the subreddit, or by leaving us a voice mail message via Skype at: Detroit Lions Podcast Your input will help make the show better, and if you leave us a message on Skype, you just might be featured in an upcoming podcast! And what about Brodric Martin?
On today's episode of The Ultimate Assist, John Stockton and Ken Ruettgers sit down with Dr. Brian Hooker, scientist, autism dad, and chief scientific officer at Children's Health Defense, for one of the most explosive interviews yet.Dr. Hooker recounts his son's devastating vaccine injury, his whistleblower role in exposing the CDC's suppression of autism data, and the 16-year nightmare his family endured in vaccine court—only to be denied justice. He unpacks conflicts of interest in vaccine research, the dangers of mercury and aluminum still in shots, and how studies are manipulated to hide the truth. From shedding and genetic susceptibility to Tylenol's hidden role in vaccine injury, Hooker explains what mainstream science refuses to discuss. He also reveals the inside story of testifying alongside Senator Ron Johnson, how Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is shaking up the health establishment, and why new self-amplifying RNA vaccines could be the biggest threat yet.
The listeners are mad at Joe for his take on the Vols and the development of players under the Heupel system after the release of Hendon Hooker. Is there a future for Hooker in the NFL? Is the Vols' offensive system holding players back from NFL potential? How much will it affect recruiting for UT if players don't start to pan out in the NFL? We wrap up the show with your phones, and final thoughts on the NFL roster cuts.
Lions template, Would you buy? CFB talk.
Would you rather keep another player over Hooker?
In this episode, Kayla and Martina unpack a few funny moments that occurred during Kayla's time away. Then, they debate the pros and cons of the private vs public school decision parents today are faced with.
With the rise of Kyle Allen and subsequent fall of Hendon Hooker, the Lions are in a position where they will need to decide whether or not to keep three QB's. If the choose to cut Hooker, will he clear waivers? Or do they Lions seek help from a vet like Carson Wentz or Jameis Winston? Isaac Teslaa has really shown why the Lions traded up for the talented WR out of Arkansas, is he worthy of WR3 already? We'll discuss that and more. We'll finish with a preview of an upcoming Netflix doc centered around in Beal City. Lets go Lions

2025 Detroit Lions Hall of Shame Game: Preseason Takeaways and Concern Rising The Detroit Lions opened the 2025 NFL Hall of Fame Game with a disappointing 34–7 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, raising early alarms as preseason action begins. In this episode of the Detroit Lions Podcast, we dive into key angles—including how Hendon Hooker and rosters fared, what the result means for the Detroit Lions preseason, and how the Detroit Lions depth chart is shaping up as Training Camp 2025 approaches. Detroit's preseason opener in Canton exposed major issues. The Lions committed five turnovers—two on special teams and three through interceptions and fumbles—immediately setting the tone for a sloppy showing. Coach Dan Campbell made his feelings clear postgame: “Turn the ball over and it'll be hard to keep you around.” Kyle Allen started at quarterback and struggled with two interceptions, although he did lead the Lions' only scoring drive. Hendon Hooker came in during the second half, finishing 3-for-6 for just 18 yards and also throwing an interception, further highlighting depth concerns at the QB position. Hooker's performance drew criticism around timing, pocket awareness, and an alarming head hit late during a run. Local analysts are questioning whether he can adapt to NFL game speed, especially after previous injury issues that ended his college season with a torn ACL. Coming off limited snaps in 2024, Hooker needs a bounce-back—fast. This exhibition game setback complicates the ongoing battle for the backup job, with Jared Goff firmly holding the starting role. Despite the loss, some Detroit Lions players to watch emerged as positives. Rookie Isaac TeSlaa made an impact with 2.88 yards per route run and strong blocking, while Ahmed Hassanein demonstrated discipline and situational awareness that align with the new staff's defensive approach. Rock Ya‑Sin also delivered clutch run stops early. Still, the film review of the trenches exposed protection woes and lack of cohesion upfront. Colby Sorsdal's performance after shifting back to guard stood out, but overall line play remains an urgent area for improvement. With Training Camp 2025 imminent, the Lions must regroup. The Detroit Lions depth chart is in flux—especially at quarterback and along the offensive front. New coaches will need to quickly instill discipline and reduce play errors before the regular season. This Hall of Fame Game defeat shouldn't sink morale, but it should motivate corrections.
