In this Episode we are talking about ourselves. Where did this come? Where this come from i can only guess. It probably comes from when we are growing up and we are told that to think about ourselves too much is wrong and that we should always put the comforts and convenience for others first. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/thistalking/support
What's the truth about people who like being alone? Thanks to some newly developed scales for measuring attitudes toward being alone, we now have research-based answers. First, though, we need to understand what it means to like being alone. One sense of “alone” refers to spending time alone. The “Desire for Being Alone” scale, developed by Birk Hagemeyer and his colleagues, measures that. People who score high on the desire to be alone AGREE with items such as: When I am alone, I feel relaxed. I like to be completely alone. They DISAGREE with items such as: I feel uncomfortable when I am alone. Being alone quickly gets to be too much for me. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/thistalking/support
What exactly is it? When we think of someone who's emotionally mature, we typically picture a person who has a good understanding of who they are. Even if they don't have all the answers, an emotionally mature individual gives off a sense of “calm amid the storm.” They're the ones we look to when going through a difficult time because they perform well under stress. In other words, emotional maturity is when someone can manage their emotions no matter their circumstances. They know how to respond to tough situations and still keep their cool. It's a skill set they can consistently work on over time. Here's a look at key characteristics and things we can do to develop emotional maturity. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/thistalking/support
All I'm going to say is that women are walking contradictions. This podcast proves it-yes men are too. But wait for it-women take the cake for being the most contradicting and confusing. This is especially true when a woman finds a guy who truly loves her and wants a future together, but is held at the “friend zone” indefinitely because of my next point. Women's need are always varying. They want this in a man at this time, this at that time, etc. women don't know what to want. Do they have good intentions most of the time? Sure. Are they the most emotionally aware decisions? No. Some things women can improve on, is setting “wants” and “needs” apart from each other and sticking to them. You need a guy who looks like a Greek God, honest, loving, flirtatious, and makes six figures? Then stop wanting a guy who is obviously up to no good. Imagine a world where the things that are supposed to happen? Or even more importantly, the people who would actually be good together, were actually together? Too much to ask for I guess. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/thistalking/support
