Through personal reflections and the heartfelt story of a friend's anointing, we unpack how small acts of intentionality can ripple into waves of influence. Discover how answering that 'God-sized' call, like opening your heart to foster care, can reshape not just your world, but the world of those around you. It's a powerful reminder that our influence isn't measured by our audience's size but by the depth of our impact. And let's get real about the high-wire act of parenting, shall we? We strip away the glossy filters of social media success and have a heart-to-heart on recognizing the divine beauty in our children's quirks and challenges. This conversation goes beyond the surface, as we embrace vulnerability and build a stronger community within our churches and personal lives. There's strength in showing up as we are – imperfect, but together. So tune in, grab a coffee, and join us for a conversation that promises to uplift, inspire, and perhaps even laugh.Book: Life Is Messy, God Is GoodBible: NIV Life Application5-Year JournalFavorite App/Website: Dwell AppAlabaster Beautiful individual Books of the Bible Support the showCheck out our website for more ways to fully connect to God's Word. 1 Peter 4:1-2 As we saw in chapter 3, suffering is likely if you are faithful to Christ. However, when suffering comes, this is an opportunity to face it the way Jesus did. Stephen provides a sterling example of courageously paying the ultimate sacrifice with forgiveness rather than vengeance in his heart (Acts 6:9-7:1, 54-60). 1 Peter 4:3-5 As Christians, we no longer indulge in the harmful behaviors of the nations. Your old friends may criticize your new lifestyle, but that's ok. God is your judge and theirs. 1 Peter 4:6-8 As important as self-control is for the Christian life, loving one another still reigns supreme. Rather than sticking it to brothers and sisters who offend you, you can let it go, “For love covers a multitude of sins” (Prov 10:12). 1 Peter 4:9 Understandably, hospitality is waning in our society today. It requires time, money, preparation, cleaning, cooking, and vulnerability. Still, it's a key way you can show love both to the household of faith as well as unbelievers. 1 Peter 4:10-11 The basis of our service to God and His people is God's generous gifting to us. Do what God has called you to do with zeal. 1 Peter 4:12-19 Once again, we return to suffering. Don't be ashamed of suffering as a Christian; instead, glorify God in that name. As we suffer, let's entrust our souls to our faithful Creator while doing good.
I have been a Christian for about fourteen years now and I can honestly say I feel like it's just been recently since I've felt that I was actually "born again". Part of this started with Jonathan Leonardo emphasizing the true freedom we have in the Gospel and what it means to live in the power of the Holy Spirit. I use to view the Holy Spirit as something that assisted me, but I now recognize that the Holy Spirit is someone who lives in me. In this episode we talk about what this reality looks like, how it changes everything, and I finally get to ask Jonathan what it means to be free from sin.
Evening sermon from 1st July 2020. Preacher Chris Goswami
Living the Christian life means finding our own unique place and discovering God‘s vision for our own lives. One of the reasons why the early church grew so fast was because Christians were personable, passionate, convicted, and real. Undoubtedly Christians today are classified as hypocritical, judgmental, negative, and fake. Maybe that's unfair, but it's a universally held “truth” about Christianity. What can we do? How should we react? Maybe the answer is already inside of us... maybe God created us to be game changers... maybe today is the start of something new. It's time to start walking in step with God, regardless of what anyone is doing or saying. It's time for authentic Christian living. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/reynoldsrap/support
