These are the potency of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, and so we are part of Caitanya Mahāprabhu's mission. We're very fortunate to be His representatives. If you cultivate knowledge of who Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu is by hearing again and again the Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta, Kavirāja Goswami says, if you hear it and you don't understand it, then hear it again, and again and again till you understand. And the effect is that we enter into that Līlā ourselves, and when we understand Kṛṣṇa by His grace, by hearing about Him, we become blissful, and we also become effectual in presenting Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu to others. Why is He so important? Because it's very difficult to approach Kṛṣṇa, but Caitanya Mahāprabhu is Kṛṣṇa, but He comes as a devotee, and He makes Himself available, so that if anybody worships Him, tīrthāspadaṁ śiva-viriñci-nutaṁ śaraṇyam bhṛtyārti-haṁ praṇata-pāla bhavābdhi-potaṁ (SB 11.5.33) His lotus feet are the sum total of all the holy places. And if one serves Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu, and how does one do that? Join the saṅkīrtana movement, which is like an ocean. Then one comes out on the shore of the pastimes of Śrī Śrī Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Cc Madhya 19.165-200 https://vedabase.io/en/library/cc/madhya/19/advanced-view/ ------------------------------------------------------------ The criterion is that a devotee must know what Kṛṣṇa wants him to do. This understanding can be achieved through the medium of a spiritual master who is a bona fide representative of Kṛṣṇa. Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī advises, ādau gurv-āśrayam. One who is serious in wanting to render pure devotional service to the Lord must take shelter of a spiritual master who comes in the disciplic succession from Kṛṣṇa. Evaṁ paramparā-prāptam imaṁ rājarṣayo viduḥ. Without accepting a bona fide spiritual master coming in the disciplic succession, one cannot find out the real purpose of devotional service. Therefore one has to accept the shelter of a bona fide spiritual master and agree to be directed by him. The first business of a pure devotee is to satisfy his spiritual master, whose only business is to spread Kṛṣṇa consciousness. And if one can satisfy the spiritual master, Kṛṣṇa is automatically satisfied — yasya prasādād bhagavat-prasādaḥ. This is the success of devotional service. CC Madhya 19.118-154 https://vedabase.io/en/library/cc/madhya/19/advanced-view/ ------------------------------------------------------------ I had long conversations with Rādhikā Ramaṇa Prabhu when we stayed with him the year Sādhu Saṅga was in Utah. Rādhikā was saying it's the glory of a person, and it makes them more glorified when those after them first of all choose to write about the materials following that luminary. He gave the example of Shakespeare. How many thesis papers have there been in the humanities department about any of Shakespeare's works or his life in general? Millions. And did that eclipse Shakespeare's writings? No. On the contrary, it's a light shining on them saying, "Wow, so many people were writing about him and, you know, taking points from his writings that he must be like the super guy," and he is in literary history. So his point was, after every ācārya, there are always thousands of commentaries. We only see a few of them, but there are thousands of writings about any luminary, any of the mahātmās who have written, and so forth, and it glorifies them, because, of course, that person made a stir, they hit a nerve. They actually had something potent to say, and therefore there's a lot more to say about it and a lot more to churn within what they said. Therefore his opinion was and is, that it's the glory of Prabhupāda that more people write about what he said and what he brought to bear—the whole canon of Vedic literatures—and how we can bring it into the modern light so that people can take advantage of it. That shows Prabhupāda's potency. And case in point was the Bṛhad Bhāgavatāmṛta, because Joseph T. O'Connell, who at the time was the preeminent expert on Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇavism in the academic world, if you read his foreword to the book, he says that very thing: that nobody in the world up to this point, after hundreds of years, has been able to do what Gopīparāṇadhana Prabhu has done, which is to effectively translate what Sanātana Gosvāmī wrote as prose, as commentary, he wrote in Sanskrit, and nobody had been able to take it and put it into a natural flow of language that people could read and understand. And He said it's perfectly done. He said, "This points to the greatness of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedānta Swami Prabhupāda, that he could attract and then train disciples who could do that." What to speak of how the devotees headed by Hṛdayānanda Mahārāja were able to finish the Tenth, Eleventh, and Twelfth Cantos of the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam, which sometimes people say, "Oh, you don't read those. They're not Prabhupāda's books." But my opinion is, they're as much Prabhupāda's books as before that, because who trained them to talk like that and have a perfect grasp of the siddhānta and to be able to present it in the same mood that comes through the disciplic succession? It shines a light on the greatness of Prabhupāda that somebody was able to be there and continue that, as Prabhupāda asked them to do. Cc Madhya 19.17-117 https://vedabase.io/en/library/cc/madhya/19/advanced-view/ ------------------------------------------------------------ This is the main stimulus for advancing devotional service: like-minded association with devotees who are more advanced than oneself. And being able to detect that requires one's very deep realization. Because if we don't have a realization, we just take for granted when we're in exalted association. "Yeah, I could do that." Like people, sometimes they watch the Olympics on their television. The guy sets the world record for the pole vault, and the guy sitting there on the couch tells his wife, "Yeah, I could do that. I used to do that when I was in high school." No appreciation for somebody who's more advanced! And humility means being able to detect the more advanced devotees, people who are more advanced than oneself. And of course, in deep, deep humility, one sees that one can learn from everybody. It's one of the benefits of preaching, going out into the world and seeing how the modes work, and also through the mouths of apparently just ordinary people controlled by the modes of material nature, one gets direction from Kṛṣṇa—how to refine oneself. And one could hear that voice. Cc Madhya 19.151-164 https://vedabase.io/en/library/cc/madhya/19/advanced-view/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Māyā is so strong, too. If people get bad association, they become sentimental and they stop. They can develop all kinds of anarthas, some of which are: "Well, devotional service is antiquated, and there are other more modern ways, although they're the same old thing, rehashed. It's all been done in previous millenniums." This is just people trying to find ways to explore their spirituality aside from following the four regulatory principles and chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa. Then, after being beaten by Māyā severely, people often come back and realize that they had something very valuable. It's not a great idea, however, to go away for such a long period of time, because one can really lose one's momentum and the opportunity of putting together at least one full lifetime, from pillar to post, where one takes advantage of the process. Which is the best idea. Cc Madhya 19.1-16 https://vedabase.io/en/library/cc/madhya/19/advanced-view/ ------------------------------------------------------------ When Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu started for Vṛndāvana through the forest of Jhārikhaṇḍa, Rūpa Gosvāmī left home and sent news to Sanātana that he was leaving with his younger brother (Anupama Mallika) to meet Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu. Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī finally reached Prayāga and met with Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu for ten successive days. During this time, Vallabha Bhaṭṭa extended an invitation to the Lord with great respect. Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu introduced Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī to Vallabha Bhaṭṭa. After this, a brāhmaṇa scholar named Raghupati Upādhyāya arrived and discussed Kṛṣṇa consciousness with the Lord. Kavirāja Gosvāmī then extensively describes the living condition of Śrī Rūpa and Sanātana at Vṛndāvana. During the ten days at Prayāga, Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī was instructed by the Lord, who gave him the basic principles of the Bhakti-rasāmṛta-sindhu. The Lord then sent Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī to Vṛndāvana. The Lord Himself returned to Vārāṇasī and stayed at the home of Candraśekhara. Who's Rupa Goswami? We're known as Rūpānugas, followers of Rūpa Goswāmī. In the spiritual world. He has an intimate connection with Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa as a mañjarī. He's known as Rūpa Mañjarī, but here in this world, he shows very practically how we can perform the nine items of devotional service and water the seed of devotion, just as Lord Caitanya had taught, and we can have success in this life. To achieve that end, Caitanya Mahāprabhu, who is his spiritual master and preceptor, taught him all about how to worship the Deity. And you'll find in Caitanya-caritāmṛta that Lord Caitanya gives instruction to Sanātana Goswāmī exactly how to establish a Deity, how to worship the Deity. He asked Sanātana Goswāmī, who is the brother of Rūpa Goswāmī, to write the entire chapter on Deity worship, and who teaches it? Kṛṣṇa. He tells about the different forms of the Deity you can worship. There are Deities from metal, wood, stone, jewels, paint, and in your mind. You can make a deity out of earth, and so forth. And then he tells the exact process, and that process has been passed down also through great sages like Nārada. Because of Nārada, we have the Nārada Pañcarātra, and we have the Pāñcarātrikī vidhi, which is the rules and regulations of how to worship Kṛṣṇa in the Deity form. So this was part of the process of bhakti-yoga, to worship the Deity, and Rūpa Goswāmī worshiped Śrī Śrī Rādhā-Govinda according to the instructions of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu. And here in Jaipur, they still follow that system. So it's part of our Gauḍīya family tradition to come here and see Śrī Śrī Rādhā-Govinda and remember Rūpa Goswāmī. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #kartikimmersionretreat #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

The show highlighted upcoming events, including an art exhibition by Dr. Kothari in Fairfax, Virginia, and encouraged listeners to support the Space Show through donations or sponsorships.Namrata discussed China's lunar program, highlighting its focus on building an industrial capacity and infrastructure on the moon by 2036, including a 1 megawatt nuclear energy capability. She compared this to the US Artemis program, noting that while both aim to build lunar bases, China's ambitions are on a larger scale. Namrata also addressed concerns about China potentially misbehaving on the moon, explaining that China's strategic culture, as a one-party state, has historically involved occupying resource-rich areas. She suggested that the US needs to enhance its cislunar domain awareness, establish clear policy guidance for lunar infrastructure development, and take leadership in creating a regulatory structure for lunar activities to counter China's ambitions.Namrata discussed the evolving discourse on space policy, highlighting how legal systems established in the 1960s and 1970s did not anticipate the current commercial space sector. She noted that while her research and analysis are reflected in some policy documents, there is still a need to address the global nature of space activities and the importance of space infrastructure. David inquired about the impact of Namrata's work on space policy, to which she explained that her research has influenced national security considerations and policy discussions, though not directly leading to specific policy outcomes.Charles inquired about China's plans for their Long March 10 and 9 rockets, and Namrata clarified the differences between the two. She explained that the Long March 10A is a non-reusable rocket intended for lunar missions by 2030, while the Long March 9 is a heavy-lift rocket designed to be partially reusable by 2030, with a goal of full reusability by 2040. Namrata also highlighted that China's space program is driven by specific missions and infrastructure goals, such as space-based solar power and a Mars base, and emphasized the ideological purposes behind their rocket development, similar to SpaceX's narrative. The discussion focused on comparing China's commercial space sector with the US model. Namrata explained that while the US has a traditional public-private partnership where government funds commercial space activities through agencies like NASA, China's system is more integrated with government funding and direction. She noted that China's commercial space companies, though not state-owned, receive significant government funding and operate under a legal framework where they must support national defense and security initiatives if requested. The conversation highlighted how China's approach has allowed it to become an innovation powerhouse in areas like quantum computing and AI, while maintaining control over strategic technologies through its National Defense Law.The discussion next focused on the potential impact of U.S. sanctions on Russian oil imports on India's space partnership with the U.S. Namrata explained that while India has economic concerns about oil prices affecting its population, the space partnership remains strong, with ongoing collaborations including NASA's NISAR satellite launch and human spaceflight programs. The conversation also explored space policies in the Middle East, particularly the United Arab Emirates' ambitious goals including Mars missions and space resource utilization, as well as Saudi Arabia's plans for a spaceport and smart city. The group discussed whether sanctions on Russian oil would force India and China to comply with U.S. demands, with Namrata noting that economic sanctions could be challenging in India due to its large population and dependence on oil imports, though the outcome remained uncertain.Namrata discussed China's strategic energy initiatives, particularly their discovery of thorium deposits and development of nuclear and space-based solar power programs per comments from Ajay. Namrata explained that under President Xi Jinping, China has identified energy as a critical strategic area due to concerns about energy security and the "Malacca Dilemma," and has been investing heavily in alternative energy sources and space technology. The conversation ended with Marshall expressing his impression of SpaceX's Starship 10 launch, while Rick announced he would soon be traveling to China. Please see the Zoom video of this program a doctorspace.substack.com. OL for Sunday, 8-24-25 Meeting summaryOur Open Lines program began with members of our Advisory Board in the Zoom meeting on casual conversation about the upcoming Starship test 10 flight. The group then explored various space-related topics including more Starship test flights, SpaceX, lunar landing architectures, and NASA's Artemis program, while also discussing the importance of public communication about space exploration and its potential benefits. The conversation ended with discussions about scientific discoveries, upcoming shows featuring space policy experts, and an art showing by Dr. Kothari, along with additional updates about the upcoming Starship launch. Our pre-program conversation ended with David announcing upcoming Space Show programs, including a discussion with Dr. Namrata Goswami about national security and the Chinese space program, and a potential interview with Greta, an emeritus professor from Yale who has a new thesis about the extinction of dinosaurs. Space Show program participants included Marshall Martin, John Jossy, Rick Kwan, Michael Listner, John Hunt, and Dr. A.J. Kothari. We started the actual meeting by talking about the upcoming Starship test flight (it was postponed), with Marshall estimating a 60% chance of success. They debated how success should be measured, with John Jossy noting that while not blowing up is a success, completing a good percentage of experiments is also important. Rick and Marshall discussed the transition from version 2 to version 3 of Starship, with Marshall noting that the main upgrade is replacing Raptor 2 engines with Raptor 3 engines. The group also touched on the challenges of keeping the dry weight low while maximizing payload capacity for Mars missions. They concluded that a failed test would likely have a cascading effect on schedules, particularly for Artemis, but that SpaceX has the financial resources to continue development. The group discussed the number of test flights needed for SpaceX's Starship, with Marshall suggesting 11 flights based on his spreadsheet analysis. They debated the risks of betting on the Artemis program's timeline to beat China to the moon, with John Hunt and David expressing concerns about the current infrastructure and delays. Rick noted that Chinese technology is rapidly improving, potentially making it harder to catch up. The discussion concluded with David suggesting that Congress might not be as motivated to play catch-up with China as previous generations were with the Soviets. In addition, we discussed potential lunar landing and return architectures, with Marshall proposing to use Dragon in the nose of a Starship for moon landings, though Dr. Kothari pointed out that Dragon lacks sufficient delta-V for lunar takeoff. Ajay raised concerns about the need for NRHO operations to continue despite budget constraints, while Marshall suggested repurposing Starship as a moon base by tilting it and connecting to future Starships, which would create a legal claim on the moon. The discussion concluded with John Jossy noting that current law mandates continued use of SLS, Orion, and Gateway through Artemis 5, suggesting any architectural changes would need legislative approval. The group discussed NASA's Artemis program and leadership challenges. David expressed concerns about the lack of full-time NASA leadership and the need for better communication to the general public about space exploration's importance. Michael Listner suggested that a permanent NASA administrator might not be necessary and that the current political situation would likely remain unchanged for the foreseeable future. The group agreed to attend a special Space Show program with Mike Gold on August 28th to further discuss these issues. The group discussed the importance of both informing the public and conducting scientific/engineering work in space. Rick presented three key space manufacturing opportunities: pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, and fiber optics, noting progress through NASA's InSpace program led by Lynn Harper. They explored the potential for quantum computing in space, particularly on the moon where cooler temperatures would enable more efficient operation, and discussed the O'Neilian dream of moving heavy manufacturing into space to address environmental concerns. The conversation concluded with a discussion about the intersection of quantum computing and artificial intelligence, though concerns were raised about whether these technical advancements would resonate with the general public.Together we talked about the benefits of space research and its potential to improve lives through medical advancements, such as 3D printing of organs and artificial tissues, which could address critical shortages in organ transplants. They emphasized the importance of effectively communicating these benefits to the public, suggesting that focusing on current achievements and practical applications, rather than overhyping future possibilities, would help gain public support for space exploration. Marshall highlighted the economic potential of Starlink, predicting significant revenue that could fund future space endeavors, while Michael and others stressed the need to highlight existing technologies and their impact on daily life to engage the public. A few of our participants said to be careful not to promise too much. We had a brief discussion about that potential problem.David discussed the potential of space and low gravity environments to advance medical research, particularly in gene therapy for diseases like cystic fibrosis. He emphasized that while solutions to medical problems likely already exist, the challenge is accessing and implementing them, which requires funding and conducive environments. Rick raised concerns about the prioritization of NASA's budget for exploratory missions versus other technologies like stem cell research. David argued that a great nation can pursue multiple goals simultaneously. Marshall highlighted the role of the U.S. military and Space Force in space exploration and security, suggesting they could be a viable second source for dual-purpose initiatives. John Jossy shifted the discussion to focus on accomplishments and ongoing projects in space exploration. Some of our participants spoke to several scientific discoveries, including a landmark study on the universe's early galaxies from the James Webb Space Telescope and the discovery of super-hot spring strings that may account for dark matter. John Hunt shared updates about anomalous materials found at Skinwalker Ranch, which are being analyzed by a team of scientists, though no peer-reviewed paper has been published yet. The conversation ended with a reminder about upcoming Zoom shows, including one with Dr. Goswami on Tuesday evening. We closed by promoting an upcoming special show on Thursday at 12:30 PM West Coast time featuring Mike Gold discussing space policy and commerce. Marshall predicted that space commerce could become a significant source of income in the next 5-10 years, addressing the economic challenges of space projects. Ajay announced an art showing in Fairfax, Virginia on September 20th, featuring his work "The Abstraction of Mind from the Mind of a Rocket Scientist." The group also discussed the Starship launch for later today, with John Jossy noting that Elon Musk's update would likely be broadcast before the launch at 4 PM their time.Don't forget that you can see the Zoom video of this program and hear the audio archive at doctorspace.substack.com.Special thanks to our sponsors:Northrup Grumman, American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Helix Space in Luxembourg, Celestis Memorial Spaceflights, Astrox Corporation, Dr. Haym Benaroya of Rutgers University, The Space Settlement Progress Blog by John Jossy, The Atlantis Project, and Artless EntertainmentOur Toll Free Line for Live Broadcasts: 1-866-687-7223For real time program participation, email Dr. Space at: drspace@thespaceshow.comThe Space Show is a non-profit 501C3 through its parent, One Giant Leap Foundation, Inc. Rūpa Goswami says, "Just as young boys are naturally attracted to young girls, and young girls are naturally attracted to young boys"—if you unload a busload of teenagers in front of the Grand Canyon, they won't see the Grand Canyon because they're in samādhi. He said, "In the same way, may my mind be drawn to you." So when Prabhupāda said, "This is a feeling festival, the Ratha-yātrā," there is a story behind it, a love story. But it's THE love story; it's not any love story, it's THE love story. It's the ādi-rasa that gets perverted in this world as what's called āhlāda-tāpa-traya—the love affairs of this world that end in misery and strife and difficulty and complications. Of course, there are complications in the love story of the spiritual world, but they're all ānanda. And this Ratha-yātrā is so remarkable because what we have here is an apparently ordinary parade, but we're pulling the Supreme Personality of Godhead, and not just an image of God. And we say, "God is great, and we're all small and we're all servants," but there's this very specific story of Lord Kṛṣṇa meeting again the residents of Vṛndāvana, and the depth of their separation from him, which is never broken, because true love is never broken. Even Shakespeare says that. And that's all encapsulated within the Ratha-yātrā festival. So brilliant was Prabhupāda to bring it out to the world that both aspects are there: kevalānanda-kāṇḍa—the bliss of the chanting, the prasādam, the display of booths, and "Here's Kṛṣṇa consciousness, you'll get inner peace." But beyond that, there's the most esoteric of all stories that highly advanced paramahaṁsas relish again and again, and tell over and over again, which they go into the details of again and again, and relish it unlimitedly. So we're part of that legacy to bring Ratha-yātrā to the world, and along with the Ratha-yātrā, we may also distribute Bhagavad-gītā, Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, and Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta. For anyone who has such an intervention in his or her life by seeing the Ratha-yātrā and then receiving transcendental literature, what to speak of prasādam and the association of devotees, can then take to the path of devotional service. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #rathyatra #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

There are various ways in which we can organize our lives so that we elevate our consciousness. Now, the first and most important is to take an inventory of what we call the soundscape, or the soundtrack, of your life. Do any of you have a soundtrack in your life? If any of you have ever been to a movie, they have soundtracks. That's what defines the era of the movie, isn't it? Yeah, you look at a movie, you can also understand from the very beginning, after the opening credits, when the movie comes on, you can tell if it's a comedy. If it's kind of whimsical music. "Oh, this is going to be funny." If it's very—there's a dark "uh oh, somebody's getting killed here"—mystery. You know, this is all defined by the soundtrack. And so there's a way in which we also have a soundtrack in our life. And Sūta Goswami addresses this. He's talking about elevation of consciousness, and then he describes a series of practices, or one practice, that evolves our consciousness. One practice that sounds simpler, doesn't it? Technically, it begins with meeting somebody who has a better soundtrack than we have. So he says, and I'll quote what Sūta Goswami spoke to the sages: śuśrūṣoḥ śraddadhānasya vāsudeva-kathā-ruciḥ syān mahat-sevayā viprāḥ puṇya-tīrtha-niṣevaṇāt (SB 1.2.16) That means, if you can meet somebody who's spiritually awake and their taste in hearing is transcendental sound vibration, they like it. They're absorbed in it. What's more, they've been around others who like it, and they've evolved their consciousness. So he says, if you can get around such people, high-minded souls, and do some sevā—means, try to assist them in their life, in whatever they're doing. If you do that, that rubs off on you. It's a technique that Kṛṣṇa mentions in the Bhagavad-gītā also about getting knowledge from a wise person. He says, "Tad vidhi praṇipātena paripraśnena sevayā upadekṣyanti te jñānaṁ jñāninas tattva-darśinaḥ." When you want knowledge, approach a person who already has it, but do it in a mood of submission. Don't go there saying, "Yeah, I heard that before, yeah, I know that." It'll close the person down. Just be really open. Don't say, "I already know that," ever. Then also render some service. Back when I was a kid, it was cliché that you would bring the teacher an apple. I don't know if they have that here in New York. Are you supposed to bring your teacher an apple? Did you know that ? ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Someone told me the other day that we've done over 150,000 sets of Bhāgavatams from our concerted efforts. You know, so many of these things happen when we're not looking because we're just looking down at what we're doing right now and what we're going to do next. But together, as a team, 150,000 sets of Bhāgavatams! Inconceivable six years ago. But somehow or other, by the combined energy of all of you working together and all of the all over the world devotees feeling the same impetus to do service for service, and believing in that magic of the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam, as Prabhupāda did when he was aboard the Jaladūta, when he said, "This will be the tip of the spear. This is what will create the revolution in the impious lives of the world's misdirected civilization." Here we are. It's the launch of Bhādra. We have full permission from Śrīla Prabhupāda to give our mind and attention in, as he puts it, "practical samādhi" of distributing Bhāgavatam sets. We have the encouragement from the Bhāgavatam itself, from Śrīla Śukadeva Goswami, who included the verse that says, "Do this! Give it to other people. You'll go back to Godhead in the process." Let everybody go back to Godhead. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

In this world, it's important to be informed about what's important. We need an intervention. Caitanya Mahāprabhu said to Sanātana Goswami, māyā-mugdha jīvera nāhi svataḥ kṛṣṇa-jñāna jīvere kṛpāya kailā kṛṣṇa veda-purāṇa.'" For that reason, Kṛṣṇa personally comes in the form of Śrīla Vyāsadeva, and he makes available very clear knowledge that is comprehensible to humans. Humans can pick up a piece of literature or hear from someone who's heard from others wisdom that's been passed down through an authorized line, and when they hear it, then they can transform and improve their lives. It's not automatic that people come out of illusion. "Māyā-mugdha jīvera nāhi svataḥ" (CC Madhya 20.122) — it's not automatic that somebody just comes out of illusion. There has to be an intercedence by someone who comes along and gives an indication that there's a better choice. In fact, the availability of lesser goals is the main hindrance for human beings. We have a plethora of paths that lead to results in our lives that are not sanguine and do not fulfill our innermost desire. Fortunately, Kṛṣṇa loves us and wants us to have his association in the blissful spiritual world, and he makes every arrangement so that we can have such interventions in our lives. And Prabhupāda once said that two things are necessary to extricate oneself from one's present position and rise to a higher level, and those are knowledge and practice. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Maraṇam before smaraṇam. In other words, before one is able to comprehend or think of the pastimes of Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa at Rādhā-kuṇḍa, one must begin with the simplest of processes. For instance, what is the instruction of the śāstra: 'ataḥ śrī-kṛṣṇa-nāmādi na bhaved grāhyam indriyaiḥ sevonmukhe hi jihvādau svayam eva sphuraty adaḥ.' Yoga doesn't begin with coming to Rādhā-kuṇḍa and trying to remember Kṛṣṇa and staying here, but it begins with 'jihvādau', ādau means beginning, and jihvā means the tongue. One has to start with the tongue. What about our Gaudiya teachers? That's from the Padma Purana. How do they apply this? We came to the last three verses about Śrī Śrī Rādhā-Kuṇḍa and Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī and the loving affair she has with Kṛṣṇa here. But where did we start when we recite the Upadeśāmṛta ? The first two words 'vaco vegam' means 'mind your speech'. It's the gateway sense, says the Srimad Bhāgavatam, that you can understand that if you're able to control your tongue then all the other senses are controlled. But if you cannot control your tongue, then you can understand that none of your senses are controlled. Therefore, Rūpa Goswami emphasized 'pṛthivīṁ sa śiṣyāt' if you're able to control your tongue and control your other urges, the urges of the other senses, then you become free from the real masters in this world.Who are the masters of this world ? ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

So, interestingly, like in the Bhāgavatam, when Sūta Goswami was promoted to the point of the leader of all the sages in Naimiṣāraṇya, he was called Ugraśravā. This word "Ugraśravā" means, you know, Ugranṛsiṁha, Ugrakarma—it's like fierce, incredibly heavy, "Ugra." "Ugraśravā" means somebody who's just totally leaned into hearing, Ugraśravā—they just made it their whole existence to hear the Vedic wisdom, as also mentioned in the Bhāgavatam later on (SB 11.3.21): tasmād guruṁ prapadyeta jijñāsuḥ śreya uttamam śābde pare ca niṣṇātaṁ brahmaṇy upaśamāśrayam "One who is qualified to speak about the absolute truth is one who is śābday brahma niṣṇātam." They've taken a dip in the ocean of transcendental knowledge; they actually swam around in there, and then they come out like drenched. So, Ugraśravā is a very important point. Śraddhādhānāḥ, seriously inquisitive, means somebody who actually leans into hearing and hears all the relevant topics in a faithful way—faithful to one's lineage and one's guru. The mood is important also, not that I just go here, there, and everywhere collecting information. In fact, there's an admonition given in the Kṛṣṇa-bhajanāmṛta by Śrī Narahari Sarakāra Ṭhākura, whose samādhi you definitely run into this when you go to the Rādhā-Dāmodara temple in Vṛndāvana because when you're doing the circumambulation, his samādhi is right there at the caddy-corner is a good word to use, I think to Rūpa and Sanātana's samādhi. Just going around the corner, it's right there at the end—you can offer obeisances. He wrote a book called Śrī Kṛṣṇa-bhajanāmṛta, and in it, he talks about the mood of the devotee and how we should appreciate all Vaiṣṇavas. One of the ways he talks about it is that the Ganga has ripples and little waves sometimes, and he says whether the ripple is big or small, it's still the Ganga. So, whether a devotee is big or small in the estimation of the society—say, "Well, that's just a little devotee," or, "There's a big devotee here,"—it's still Ganga water, still it is worshipable. He goes on to say that when one accepts guidance in the paramparā system and accepts a Guru, even when one goes and takes information from others, he should bring that information back to the Guru and say, "This is what I collected," and offer it first to the Guru. Then the Guru also substantiates it, accepts it in the right mood. So, he said, in that way, one should carefully tune oneself to the mood of the sampradāya. In this verse, "tac chraddadhānāḥ," seriously inquisitive also means the mood in which one collects. As is mentioned in the śāstra, if one is faithful to Guru and Kṛṣṇa, then all the imports of Vedic knowledge become available. Does anybody know the verse? Take the mic, and you can say. The mantra for that stage of life, that interim stage, is "Keep on keeping on." Can everyone repeat that? "Keep on." I was leaving Hawaii one day, late for a flight, and a brahmacari ran out to the window of the car and said, "Give me some instruction." I said, "Keep on keeping on," because we were in a hurry—that's all I could tell him. And then we came back a few years later, he said, "Do you remember me?" and I said, "No." He said, "You told me something that saved my life." I said, "What did I tell you?" He said, "Keep on keeping on." That's what I've been doing. So we have to keep on keeping on in the practice. Rūpa Goswami said, "It's like medicine—you won't take it, it won't taste sweet at first. So do it as duty, do it as taking medicine, and then you'll gradually come to the point where you'll feel that, 'Oh, this is where all the nectar is; I don't want to be anywhere else.'" Throughout the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam, we find examples of people who are completely liberated. What does that look like, and what are their symptoms? Well, there are various symptoms, but looking at the personalities is nice because we can see the unusual qualities of people who are liberated. That's what we get in the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam—an exposition of these. So, these are some of my heroes from the Bhāgavatam, if I may. The first one is...
