Seek God and His anointing. The anointing power is not power for power's sake. The anointing sets YOU apart for God's use. Allow Him to instruct you in all things to be used with impact – power to be His witness, to discern what is true and real, and to bear fruit continually. Nurture the anointing by staying connected to Holy Spirit.

There's a difference between a relationship and a purpose partnership. In this episode, I'm sharing why I want my purpose partner to seek God before they ever seek me. If you're not going to the One who wrote my story, how do you know you're meant to be in it? Let's talk spiritual alignment, prayerful pursuit, and why a God-centered connection hits different and lasts longer.
Are You a Part of What God Is Doing in Our Country Today? Do You Seek God's Presence in Your Life? MESSAGE SUMMARY: Can you tell what God is up to in the World, in our time, in our church, and in America? Are you a part of what God is doing in the world today, or are you just reacting to what God is doing, thereby, creating conflict and division? Psalms 105 reminds you of God's power in the world if you do seek His presence in your life: “Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually! Remember the wondrous works that he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he uttered.". On the other hand, Paul, in 1 Thessalonians 1:9, warns you of the implications for not including the presence of Jesus in your worldly considerations: “They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might.”. While the Lord is leading, and directing, it seems that we are wrapped up in our agenda and our way of doing things; therefore, we miss God's presence; and we miss the Holy Spirit in our lives. TODAY'S PRAYER: Lord, everything in me resists following you into the garden of Gethsemane to fall on my face to the ground before you. Grant me the courage to follow you all the way to the cross, whatever that might mean for my life. And then, by your grace, lead me to resurrection life and power. In Jesus' name, amen. Scazzero, Peter. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 100). Zondervan. Kindle Edition. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Loneliness. Rather, I will abide in the Lord's Presence. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5). SCRIPTURE: Daniel 2 SHOW NOTES: We invite you to visit our ministry website, Discover God's Truth, to find more resources to support your spiritual journey.Daniel was a man of fervent prayer. He was taken captive to Babylon and served there for over 60 years. In this first historical episode, he learns that the king had a dream and wants to know both the dream and its interpretation. The wise men of the court cannot reveal this information to the king. The Chaldeans answered the king and said, “There is not a man on earth who can meet the king's demand, for no great and powerful king has asked such a thing of any magician or enchanter or Chaldean. The thing that the king asks is difficult, and no one can show it to the king except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh.” Daniel 2:10-11Daniel learns of the king's harsh order—kill all the wise men—and requests time to find a solution to the king's dilemma. He returns to his house, calls his friends—Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah—and asks them to join him in prayer. "He urged them to plead for mercy from the God of heaven concerning this mystery, so that he and his friends might not be executed with the rest of the wise men of Babylon." Daniel 2:18 They asked for God's compassion to manifest through a revelation of the king's dream and its interpretation to Daniel. God revealed the secret mystery to Daniel. He believed this vision was an answer to their fervent prayers. “Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, to whom belong wisdom and might. He changes times and seasons; he removes kings and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding; he reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with him. To you, O God of my fathers, I give thanks and praise, for you have given me wisdom and might, and have now made known to me what we asked of you, for you have made known to us the king's matter.” Daniel 2:20-23SONG: Perfect Wisdom of Our God - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hSnzYnOe6kI

The answers for life and direction for Christian believers lie in the scriptures. If we seek through the scriptures the answers we need to move forward in a God respecting way we will not falter. We will go through our trials, tribulations, and adversities and come out of them in a blessed place or status. Seek God while we have opportunity.

Many people ask, “How can I get clean?”—but the deeper question is: How do I stay clean? In this final episode of the 3-part series from Words From The Word, Pastor Roderick Webster unpacks Psalm 119:9–16, providing a step-by-step answer to the question that every young believer must face:“How can a young man cleanse his way?”Pastor Webster dives deep into Scripture to show how cleansing and lasting purity come not just from knowing the Word—but living it.
Mark 1:35 Matthew 14:22-23 Matthew 26:39 Luke 11:1 John 17:6-26 Prayer was supremely important to Jesus. Multiple times in the gospels he's recorded to have gone off alone to pray. So how do we spring forward in prayer?: Pray Prayer is the opportunity: to worship God to connect with God to affect his will on creation. Pray more. Pray regularly. Pray continuously. Stop treating it so lightly Seek God's desire: for you. for them. for the world. Add WEIGHT to your prayer. Crossroads – about heaven, earth, and the journey in between. Jonah 1:15-17 - They took Jonah and threw him overboard. Immediately the sea was quieted down. The sailors were impressed, no longer terrified by the sea, but in awe of God. They worshiped God, offered a sacrifice, and made vows. Then God assigned a huge fish to swallow Jonah. Jonah was in the fish's belly three days and nights. What happened to Jonah and Asa that weakened their faith? How do we respond is tough times? How do we keep our faith strong and our eye on God and not ourselves?1- Listen to those speaking truth to us. 2- Seek God first and before people every time3 - Remember and recount all God has done for you 2 Chronicles 16:7-9 - Just after that, Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah and said, “Because you went for help to the king of Aram and didn't ask God for help, you've lost a victory over the army of the king of Aram. Didn't the Ethiopians and Libyans come against you with superior forces, completely outclassing you with their chariots and cavalry? But you asked God for help and he gave you the victory. God is always on the alert, constantly on the lookout for people who are totally committed to him. You were foolish to go for human help when you could have had God's help. Now you're in trouble—one round of war after another.”
May the God of Wonders Bless You!

Self-discipline is a key component of a Christian's walk with Christ, especially for those who are striving to be obedient to His call to be disciple makers. Self-discipline - today we look at what it is and what it matters. Welcome to Run With Horses! My name is Norman and my goal is to help you thrive as a follower of Jesus. The spiritual life is simple in many ways, but potentially the most difficult part of your life. God invites you to grow, to live intentionally and to join in His mission. It's very cool that we can do that together! Thank you for joining me today! “If you're new here, you can check out past episodes at runwithhorses.net. As always, I appreciate your feedback, questions, and reviews!” **(23:00 – 0:00)* * PART 1 Biblical theology, emphasizes holiness, and sanctification. Self-discipline is an essential piece of the puzzle for growing your faith, honoring God, and becoming more like Christ. 1. Self-Discipline is Essential for Spiritual Growth The Bible teaches that following Jesus involves ongoing transformation. Self-discipline enables a Christian to maintain focus on spiritual growth and maturity. This growth is not passive; it requires intentional effort to discipline oneself in the faith. 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 (NKJV): “Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown. Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.” In this passage, Paul emphasizes the importance of self-discipline in the Christian life. Like an athlete training for a race, the believer must discipline their body and actions to ensure they live a life pleasing to God. This passage also highlights that discipline is necessary for not only spiritual progress but also for preventing spiritual failure. 2. Self-Discipline in Fleeing Sin and Pursuing Holiness Self-discipline is crucial for resisting temptation and living a holy life. Christians are called to reject sin and live in a way that honors God, and this requires discipline in thoughts, words, and actions. 1 Timothy 4:7-8 (NKJV): “But reject profane and old wives' fables, and exercise yourself toward godliness. For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come.” Paul urges Timothy to “exercise” toward godliness, which speaks to the discipline of growing in spiritual maturity. This is contrasted with physical exercise, which has limited benefits, while spiritual discipline has eternal value. Titus 2:11-12 (NKJV): “For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age.” The grace of God teaches the believer to deny sinful desires and live disciplined lives, demonstrating the power of grace in enabling self-control. 3. Self-Discipline in the Use of Time and Resources Christians are called to be stewards of their time, talents, and resources. Practicing self-discipline helps them use these gifts in a way that honors God and furthers His kingdom. Ephesians 5:15-16 (NKJV): “See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” This passage speaks to the importance of using time wisely. Self-discipline involves making choices that align with God's will, ensuring that the believer is living for eternal purposes rather than temporary desires. 4. Self-Discipline in Prayer and Bible Study A disciplined prayer life and consistent study of Scripture are vital for growth in the faith. Christians must intentionally set aside time to communicate with God and immerse themselves in His Word. Matthew 26:41 (NKJV): “Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Jesus speaks to the importance of watchfulness and prayer to avoid falling into temptation. Self-discipline in maintaining a life of prayer is necessary for strength against sin. 2 Timothy 2:15 (NKJV): “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” This emphasizes the discipline required in studying Scripture. A believer who wants to rightly divide the Word must be diligent and disciplined in their study. 5. Self-Discipline in Following Jesus' Example Lastly, the ultimate example of self-discipline is Jesus Himself. He lived a life of perfect self-discipline, obeying the Father's will even to the point of death on the cross. Luke 9:23 (NKJV): “Then He said to them all, ‘If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.'” To follow Jesus is to practice daily self-discipline, denying one's own desires and submitting to the will of God. Conclusion For anyone who is striving to follow Jesus, self-discipline is not merely about willpower, but it is a response to God's grace and a necessary aspect of sanctification. It requires a commitment to spiritual practices, a resistance to temptation, and an ongoing pursuit of holiness. Through self-discipline, believers not only grow in Christ-likeness but also glorify God in all aspects of their lives. Self-discipline is both a duty and a privilege, empowered by the Holy Spirit and essential to the believer's walk with Christ. It is through discipline that Christians can live according to God's Word and fulfill their calling to be holy and set apart for His purposes. **(00:00) END PART 1** **(27:00 – 5:00) BEGIN PART 2** Developing self-discipline as a follower of Jesus requires intentional effort and commitment. A commitment to the spiritual disciplines can be a big part of the process of growing as a follower of Jesus. These disciplines are practices that help a believer grow in their relationship with God, resist temptation, and align their lives more closely with His will. In the context of following Jesus, self-discipline is rooted in God's grace but also requires the active participation of the believer in cultivating habits that foster spiritual growth. The spiritual disciplines are habits that help us keep our focus. Prayer, Bible reading, meditation and study Silence, Solitude, Community, Fasting. These are habits that help you build a strong spiritual life. We have talked about them before and will come back to them again but for now, Know that studying and practicing the spiritual disciplines should be a part of your spiritual life. Developing personal self-discipline is a key aspect of spiritual growth and daily life, especially for a Christian who is striving to follow Jesus. While spiritual disciplines like prayer, Bible study, and worship are vital, personal self-discipline in everyday activities also plays a significant role in the overall process. Here are practical steps that can help someone develop or increase their personal self-discipline: 1. Set Clear Goals and Priorities Having clear goals allows you to stay focused and motivated. Self-discipline thrives when you have a sense of purpose. Start by determining what is most important to you, both in your spiritual life and personal life. Actionable Step: Write down your goals—spiritual, personal, and professional—and prioritize them. Break them down into smaller, achievable tasks. For example, if your goal is to read through the Bible in a year, break it into daily reading plans. 2. Create a Routine or Schedule A structured routine helps build self-discipline because it instills consistency. When you have a set schedule, you're less likely to be distracted by fleeting desires or emotions. Actionable Step: Create a daily or weekly schedule that includes time for prayer, Bible study, work, exercise, meals, and sleep. Setting fixed times for these activities helps cultivate habits and limits procrastination. NEXT ACTION. DO IT. Proverbs 12:1 (NKJV): “Whoever loves instruction loves knowledge, But he who hates correction is stupid.” A disciplined schedule allows you to grow in knowledge and wisdom, as it gives you time to learn and apply godly principles. 3. Develop Healthy Habits Small, healthy habits can lead to big changes. Good habits can gradually transform your life and build the foundation for self-discipline. These habits can include morning routines, exercise, and eating habits. Whole Life stewardship requires WHOLE LIFE DISCIPLINE. Actionable Step: Start by adopting one healthy habit at a time, such as drinking water in the morning, avoiding social media first thing, or exercising regularly. Focus on consistency, and gradually build other habits on top of that. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NKJV): “Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.” Taking care of your body through healthy habits is a way to honor God and develop discipline. 4. Practice Accountability Accountability is a powerful tool in developing self-discipline. When you know someone is holding you accountable, it increases your motivation and helps you stay on track. You aren't in this alone. Actionable Step: Find an accountability partner or a group that shares your spiritual goals. This could be a prayer partner, a mentor, or a small group from your church. Regular check-ins and mutual encouragement can strengthen your resolve. Proverbs 27:17 (NKJV): “As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.” Accountability helps keep you on the path of discipline and encourages you to grow together with others. 5. Learn to Say No Self-discipline often involves making hard choices and learning to say no to things that are not aligned with your goals or that hinder your progress. This applies to both time management and spiritual focus. You must be clear on God's calling for you life and let nothing hinder your pursuit of Him and His mission. Actionable Step: Practice saying no to distractions, whether it's binge-watching TV, spending excessive time on social media, or even good things that might prevent you from focusing on what matters most, like spending time with God or with family. Matthew 5:37 (NKJV): “But let your ‘Yes' be ‘Yes,' and your ‘No,' ‘No.' For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.” Learning to say no when necessary is part of being disciplined, especially when it comes to guarding your time and energy. 6. Eliminate Distractions Distractions are one of the biggest barriers to self-discipline. It's difficult to stay focused when you're surrounded by temptations or interruptions. By intentionally reducing distractions, you can stay on task and make better use of your time. Remember Mary and Martha. There is one thing you need. Actionable Step: Identify areas of your life where you tend to get distracted—such as your phone, the internet, or unproductive relationships—and take steps to minimize those distractions. For instance, you could put your phone in another room while reading your Bible or studying. Matthew 6:6 (NKJV): “But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.” Finding a quiet, distraction-free space for prayer or study is essential in maintaining self-discipline. 7. Take Breaks and Rest Self-discipline doesn't mean working yourself to exhaustion. Taking breaks is important for mental and physical well-being. Rest allows you to recharge and maintain focus over time. Actionable Step: Schedule regular breaks throughout the day to rest and recharge. Ensure that you also take time off from work and other obligations to rest, whether it's a weekly Sabbath, a day off, or short breaks during the day. Exodus 20:8-10 (NKJV): “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work...” Resting is essential for spiritual, emotional, and physical renewal, and it's a discipline that promotes a balanced life. 8. Practice Self-Control in Small Things Building self-discipline in small areas of life can create a ripple effect that leads to greater self-control in bigger things. Start with simple acts of self-restraint, and work up to more challenging areas. Actionable Step: Practice self-control by limiting small indulgences, such as sweets, caffeine, or unnecessary spending. This builds the muscle of self-discipline, which will help in more significant areas like temptation or long-term goals. Galatians 5:22-23 (NKJV): “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.” Self-control is a fruit of the Spirit that grows as we practice it in daily life. 9. Celebrate Small Wins It's easy to become discouraged if you're only focused on long-term results. Acknowledge and celebrate small victories along the way to stay motivated. Actionable Step: When you accomplish a goal or stick to a discipline for a certain period, reward yourself with something meaningful—whether it's a small treat, a break, or a time of reflection and gratitude. 1 Corinthians 9:24 (NKJV): “Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it.” Recognizing progress along the way encourages perseverance and motivates you to continue toward your final goal. 10. Seek God's Help and Grace Ultimately, self-discipline is not about relying solely on your strength, but on God's grace. Ask the Lord to help you develop discipline, giving you the strength to overcome weaknesses and the wisdom to prioritize what matters most. Philippians 4:13 (NKJV): “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Depend on God's strength to help you grow in discipline, especially when things seem too difficult. Conclusion: Developing self-discipline is a process that requires intentional action and reliance on God's grace. By setting clear goals, creating a structured routine, developing healthy habits, and seeking accountability, you can grow in self-discipline and make progress in your personal and spiritual life. Keep focusing on small, practical steps while relying on God's strength and guidance through it all. **(5:00 – 1:00)** Doctrine Today Church Role in Discerning God's Will **(1:00)** How are you doing at keeping those hard tasks on your schedule? Among its leadership lessons, the Old Testament book of Exodus reminds leaders today of the value of seeking God's strength in our weakness. Life will surprise you. It likes to throw curveballs at you at unexpected times. Will you swing or duck? Lent is nearing Holy Week, and we're reflecting on how a righteous man like Joseph faced chaos with virtue. Picture this: Joseph's world flips upside down, yet once God's will clicks, he doesn't hesitate. He steps up as husband, guardian, and defender. Today's culture tells men to run from unplanned challenges, abandoning women and kids, and staying at work until 10 PM to "provide for your family." Joseph shows us differently. He prays, discerns, and acts. My challenge to you: take that hurdle in your life and hit your knees. Seek God's will through prayer today. Welcome to our sermon series, "The Miracles of Jesus"! In this powerful episode, "How to Overcome Doubt," we explore how faith can help us navigate uncertainty, inspired by the miraculous works of Christ.Key Topics in This Episode:
Ps 27 continues with David concluding his confident declaration of faith (v1-6), saying: “And now my head shall be lifted up (in honour) above my enemies all around me” (v6a). God will exalt him to be king (v5). If we exalt Him in worship, He'll exalt us. Time in worship gives us confidence in God's protection & hope for the future. He sees beyond the present to God's victory, when he'll praise God with His people, thanking Him for manifested victory: “Therefore, I will offer sacrifices of joy in His Tabernacle; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord” (v6b). God gave him victory over the immediate threat (v1-6), but he had to endure a hardness for 8 years, in constant danger & need for His help, so now he moves to humble entreaty for ongoing favour & deliverance (v7-12). Knowing himself as weak & sinful, dependent on God, he doesn't presume on His blessing, but urgently asks for continuing mercy & grace. v7: “Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice! Have mercy also on me, and answer me” (v7). Due to the wait time between promise & fulfilment, he battles negative thoughts of fear & condemnation. But as a worshipper (v4-6), rather than giving into fears, he gives them to God in prayer (v7-12) & comes into assurance (v13). “When You said: “SEEK My FACE (Presence)!” My HEART said to You: “Your FACE (Presence), Lord, I WILL SEEK” (v8). He reminds God, He initiated this relationship by inviting him to seek Him. This is God's command to all, for the first ‘seek' is plural. He graciously invites all to seek & find Him, to know Him personally. True prayer is our response to His gracious initiative. He reminds God he did respond by setting his will (heart) to seek & know Him. So, he was sure he'd find Him, for God reveals Himself & blesses all who seek Him (Deut 4:29, Jer 29:13, Matt 7:7). Those who don't find God have not set their heart to seek to know Him. Saying: “I WILL seek” shows intentionality. He was a man (who sought) after God's heart (v4, 1Sam 13:14, Acts 13:22). We need to pay attention to God, if we want Him to pay attention to us (hear our prayers). He realises he's not perfect & deserves condemnation, so has to deal with negative accusing thoughts, which he does in prayer: “Do not hide Your FACE from me, do not turn Your servant away in anger” (v9a). When His face shines on us, He's gracious toward us, but if He hides His face, He's displeased, and we need to confess our sin & turn back to Him. “You have been my help (in the past, so); do not leave (abandon) me (now) nor forsake me (in my time of need), O God of my salvation” (v9b). In his weakness, he abandons himself to God, expressing total dependence on Him. This is how to handle inner fears - bring them to God. When you sin don't run from God, but to God. He's the God of your salvation. Despite our failings, if we seek Him (v8), He'll not hide His face from us (v9). He knew God as His Saviour (v9) & perfect Parent: “When (even if) my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take care of me (receive, gather me up as a father lifts up his son & provides for him)” (v10). Even if our strongest relationships fail, God will not forsake us. He has that assurance, for God is what every parent should be (merciful, faithful, loving & forgiving). Having spent face to face time with God, he now prays for guidance, to walk in His will: “(1) TEACH me Your WAY, O Lord, and (2) LEAD me in a smooth (straight, level) path, because of my enemies (lit: watchful foes, looking for him to go wrong & take advantage)” (v11). (1) We need to know the WAY and (2) be LED step by step in it. “Do not deliver me to the will (desire) of my adversaries (v3, including demons); for false witnesses have risen against me, and such as breathe out (threats & acts of) violence.” Having faced his inner fears, he prayed through into the light of assurance: “I would have lost heart, UNLESS I had (firmly) BELIEVED that I would SEE (look steadfastly on, as in v4) the (manifest) goodness (promised provision) of the Lord in the land of the living (in this life)” (v13). Thus, it finishes as it starts with confidence God's plan will come to pass (he'll be king). If we look on the Lord in worship (v4) & wait on Him in faith (v14), His glory will change us and bring God's will to pass in our life. v14: “WAIT (in FAITH) on (set your HOPE on) the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart. WAIT, I say, on the Lord!” WAIT is repeated for emphasis. He speaks to himself, then us. YLT: “LOOK to Jehovah, be STRONG, and He will STRENGTHEN your HEART, yea, LOOK to Jehovah!” When God promises, its time of fulfilment is in His hands. Sometimes there's a delay, as with David. The danger is to lose heart. So, in this time, we must stand strong in faith, believing He'll bring it to pass. Wait patiently & expectantly in faith for Him, looking to Him for directions. Then His Spirit strengthens, encourages, enlightens our heart & empowers us to obey (v14).

Crisis of Faith: A crisis of faith is a deeply personal and often painful experience where a believer struggles with doubts about God, His goodness, or their beliefs. While it can feel like spiritual darkness, it is not uncommon—many strong Christians have faced seasons of questioning and uncertainty. 1. Understanding a Crisis of Faith A crisis of faith can be triggered by: Personal suffering – Loss, illness, unanswered prayers, or hardships can make God seem distant. Unfulfilled expectations – When life doesn't go as planned, we may question God's promises. Intellectual doubts – Questions about theology, science, or the problem of evil can shake one's faith. Hypocrisy or church hurt – Seeing failures in Christian leaders or experiencing hurt from believers can create disillusionment. Even biblical figures like Job, David, Elijah, and Thomas wrestled with doubts, yet God remained faithful to them. 2. How to Navigate a Crisis of Faith Bring Your Doubts to God – God isn't afraid of our questions. The Psalms are full of raw prayers where David expresses his struggles (Psalm 13:1-2). Stay in the Word – Even when faith feels weak, continuing to read Scripture allows truth to anchor your heart. Romans 10:17 reminds us that "faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God." Surround Yourself with Godly Community – Isolation deepens doubt, but wise counsel and fellowship can bring clarity (Proverbs 11:14). Seek God, Not Just Answers – Sometimes, we want explanations when God invites us into deeper trust (Proverbs 3:5-6). Faith grows not by having all the answers but by leaning into God despite uncertainty. Remember Past Faithfulness – Reflecting on what God has done in the past can remind us of His faithfulness even in the present storm. 3. The Outcome: Strengthened, Not Destroyed A crisis of faith does not mean the end of faith—it can be a refining process. James 1:2-4 tells us that trials develop perseverance and maturity. Even Jesus, on the cross, cried out, "My God, my God, why have You forsaken Me?" (Matthew 27:46). Yet, in the resurrection, we see that doubt and despair are never the final word.
Is deconstructing your faith a path to deeper belief or total doubt? In this episode, Mike Stone breaks down the growing conversation around faith deconstruction—why people question Christianity, what leads some to walk away, and how others come out with an even stronger faith.
Today's episode of the sunshine will discuss how we seek God and surrender to our flesh and choose God on today!
The Most Misunderstood Promise in The Bible Today, Pastor Michael is drilling down on the lore of Jeremiah, specifically verse 29 and the promise the Lord gave in it. When life breaks down, God builds up, our central theme today. We must continuously look past our current situations beyond the anxiety and hopelessness that can easily consume us and instead focus on the figurative light at the end of the tunnel. This light represents the hope found in God's Word. That hope, a firm assurance, will always help guide us through. Real-life applications from today's lesson: Recognize consequences. Accept reality. Make a difference where you are. Trust God's timing. Believe in God's plans. Seek God with all your heart. Restoration is coming. Today's verses can be found in Jer 29: 11 (central verse) and Jeremiah 29: 4 - 14 (supporting verses) Scripture quotations marked CSB have been taken from the Christian Standard Bible®, Copyright © 2017 by Holman Bible Publishers. 1. Pray & Seek God's Guidance Ask God to reveal the right path for you and to give you peace and clarity about where to focus. Look for confirmation in scripture, opportunities that naturally open, and the desires God has placed on your heart. 2. Identify What Energizes You Think about: What do you love talking about endlessly? What have women naturally come to you for help with? When you look at your past work, what felt most fulfilling and aligned? What could you teach for free and still feel excited about? 3. Define Your Core Message If you had a microphone and could share one core message with thousands of women, what would it be? Write down: The transformation: What change do you want to help women achieve? The audience: Who exactly are you speaking to? (Be specific!) The method: How do you want to help them? (Coaching, content, courses, retreats?) 4. Test & Experiment If you're unsure, don't overthink—start taking small steps: Host a free workshop or masterclass on a topic that excites you. Create a short coaching package to test an idea with a few clients. Poll your podcast audience or social media community about what they struggle with most. 5. Look for the Fruit Pay attention to what brings results for your audience and feels fulfilling to you. Often, clarity comes after you start taking action, not before. 6. Make a Decision & Commit At some point, you'll need to decide. Even if you tweak it later, commit to a path and build momentum. Trust that God will refine your purpose as you move forward. Ps: If you are ready to finally see how you can bring in thousands of dollars per week while just doing a few simple actions (and never feel like you *HAVE* to work an 8 hour day again)? To have clear direction in your day to day activities so you can easily implement strategies for more simplicity in your life and biz? Then 5 weeks to 5 figures course is for you! Welcome to Day 2589 of Wisdom-Trek. Thank you for joining me. This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom Day 2589 – Wisdom Nuggets – Old Testament Orientation – Books of Wisdom: Knowing God and Being Loyal to Him – Ecclesiastes 34:13-14 Putnam Church Message – 03/16/2025 Sermon Series: Old Testament Orientation Message 10: Books of Wisdom: Knowing God and Being Loyal to Him Last week, we continued our Old Testament Orientation series and reviewed Prophecy, Idolatry, the Day of the Lord, Loyalty, and Messiah. We explored from an ancient Israelite worldview. This week, we will explore the Books of Wisdom: Knowing God and Being Loyal to Him. These books are my favorite genre in the Old Testament. So let us think like an Ancient Israelite and their worldview of the Wisdom books. Opening Prayer Heavenly Father, Creator of heaven and earth, we humbly come before You today to seek Your wisdom and guidance. Just as You once walked with Adam and Eve in Eden, may You walk with us today through the gardens of Your Word. Grant us open hearts and receptive spirits to hear Your voice through the wisdom of the Scriptures. May the ancient words of Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and the Song of Solomon awaken within us a renewed passion for knowing You intimately. Let our hearts not merely gather knowledge, but let our lives demonstrate steadfast faithfulness and loyalty to You. May our understanding deepen, and our love for You grow stronger with each word we hear. In Jesus' precious name, Amen. Introduction Let's climb back into the imagination station. Today, we are an ancient Israelite living in the flourishing kingdom of Israel under King Solomon. The land is peaceful, your fields are productive, and the nation is prospering like never before. Yet, despite material wealth, you sense a more profound emptiness within your community. The priests offer sacrifices daily, and the temple is bustling>with activity, yet people's hearts seem distant from Yahweh. Then, one day, you hear a wise teacher speaking openly at the city gate, challenging people to think differently, to move beyond mere ritual to a deeper understanding and loyalty to God. He shares wisdom not just about how to be successful in life, but about what truly matters>knowing God and living faithfully for Him./ Even today, people seek wisdom and true knowledge that wealth alone cannot provide. The sages and teachers call out to people in the streets and city gates: “Seek wisdom! Seek God above all else!” Today, we journey through the wisdom literature of the Old Testament—Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and the Song of Solomon—to explore the ancient path of knowing God intimately and remaining loyal to Him. Let's briefly examine the concepts found in each of these books. (Bulletin Insert) Main Points The Wisdom of Job: Trusting God in Times of Suffering Expanded Narrative: In ancient Israel, the story of Job was both inspiring and troubling. The book of Job shows a very clear picture of God and His interaction with His Divine Council. Let me read Job 1: 6-9 6 One day the members of the heavenly...
Zephaniah calls the Israelites together not to celebrate them but to give them a harsh label. He warns them of the consequences are coming if they do not turn back to God. As they have been claiming to worship God while worshiping idols, Zephaniah tells them to stop living this way and turn back to God. Zephaniah says not only to stop and turn away but to seek and turn towards the one who loves you. He is calling the children of God back to say that the only way you can hide and be concealed from the wrath and judgment of God is to place our faith in the concealment of Jesus Christ and what He has done. In the same way, we must quit living for ourselves and seek God. Once we realize we are concealed in Him, it compels us to live differently. It's a response. Key Takeaways1. The Foundation—God's Design in CreationGenesis 1:27 – “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.”Gender is not a social construct, but a divine ordinance established at creation.Genesis 2 highlights the intentionality in the creation of male and female, reflecting God's image in a complementary way.Marriage (Genesis 2:24) is designed to reflect Christ's relationship with the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33).Discussion Question:How does this divine design inform the institution of marriage?2. The Fall and the Distortion of Gender RolesGenesis 3:16 – The consequences of sin led to a distortion of gender roles, leading to dysfunction in relationships. The Fall introduced brokenness into gender dynamics—struggles for control, passivity, and domination.Instead of complementing each other, men and women often experience conflict in their roles.Discussion Question:How does Jesus redeem and restore gender roles?Answer: The Gospel restores what was lost! In Christ:Men and women find their true identity in alignment with God's will.Ephesians 5:22-33 calls husbands to love sacrificially and wives to respect—not about hierarchy, but servanthood and love.3. Cultural Challenges and the Church's ResponseToday's culture views gender as fluid and self-defined, often detached from biblical truth. The Church must stand firm on biblical gender identity while engaging with compassion.Practical Ways to Uphold Biblical Gender Roles:Teach & Model biblical marriage in homes and churches.Support & Disciple men and women in their God-given roles.Speak Truth in Love—grace-filled cultural engagement.Pray for a revival of biblical truth in our world.Closing EncouragementQ: What encouragement would you offer to those struggling with gender identity?A: God's design is good and for our joy. Read Online“What profit is there for one to gain the whole world and forfeit his life?” Mark 8:36This short and direct question is worth much meditation. In Mark's Gospel, this line comes within the context of Jesus teaching about the requirements of being His disciple. And it comes after Jesus began to explicitly teach that He Himself would suffer and die as the Christ.Think about this question above, starting with the first part of the question. “What profit is there for one to gain the whole world…” Do you want to gain the whole world? For most people, such a possibility is quite enticing. To “gain the whole world” is to gain everything this world has to offer. Imagine being offered unlimited wealth in this world. What if you were to win the largest jackpot any lottery ever offered and more? What if you were able to have beautiful mansions around the world, your own private jet, every modern convenience, the most expensive of cars, and the ability to do whatever you wanted for the rest of your life? Is this enticing? Certainly it is on a superficial level. But it is also a very deceptive enticement, because all of this could not make you any happier or more fulfilled than you already are.The second part of this question is also easy to address. Would you want to forfeit your life? Certainly not. So Jesus offers two contrasting statements in one sentence. Most people would want to gain the whole world but would never want to forfeit their lives. Jesus sets up this contrast as a way of telling us very clearly that we cannot desire one without also choosing the other. In other words, if your heart's desire is for the riches of this world, then you do indeed forfeit your very life to the extent that you give into that desire. On the contrary, if you choose the salvation of your soul, then you must forfeit the desire for the riches and enticements of this world. You cannot desire and choose both. With that said, there might be a very rare soul who has many things in this world but has no attachment to them at all. They live completely detached from the things of this world, finding true satisfaction only in God and His holy will, becoming indifferent to any material things they have. Of course, this is a very difficult interior disposition for one to arrive at when they have accumulated much wealth.Alternately, there are those in this world who have very little. They are truly poor in the literal sense. However, they spend their days dreaming about riches and covet all that they do not have. Sadly, this poor soul is, in fact, just as materially attached as the one who has made riches the goal and focus of life. And that interior attachment will do great spiritual damage. Reflect, today, upon this question of Jesus: “What profit is there for one to gain the whole world and forfeit his life?” Use that question as a source of prayer, meditation and self-examination. Try to be honest about your desires. If you find that you spend much time daydreaming about riches, then pay particular attention to this question. Life in its fullness can never be obtained through those desires or the fulfillment of those desires. God and God alone fulfills. Seek God above all else and you will find that nothing this world has to offer comes close to the riches of the Kingdom of God. Lord, You and You alone are the source of fulfillment in life. Please purify my desires so that I ultimately desire only You and Your holy will. Free me from every deception and false enticement in life so that I will find satisfaction only in You. Jesus, I trust in You.Source of content: catholic-daily-reflections.comCopyright © 2025 My Catholic Life! Inc. All rights reserved.
