December is the month that almost broke us. In this unfiltered and emotional episode of What Happens Now, Tiffany and Damiani pull back the curtain on the December they thought would destroy them. The month Damiani vanished into 16 months of solitary confinement with no calls, no video visits, no warning, no nothing. This isn't just their story, it's a reminder that God sees you, even when you feel forgotten. That God can give you a different perspective in a painful season. Even in the month that hurts the most, God is still working behind the scenes. If you're a mother clinging to faith while your child is incarcerated, this episode will speak straight to your spirit. Seek God in this season, God has not left you.

So often when we worry or are confused we go to the world for answers. Or we go to works to try and force the hand of God. In the story of the prodigal son, both brothers miss out on the blessing in the house for different reasons. Seek God first and watch His grace and blessing fill your life.

While some say, "follow your heart", the Bible cautions us that the heart can be deceitful, hard and sick! Our hearts need God's healing and transforming work - and we need to guard our hearts from becoming hardened, wounded or dirtied. Wewould be wise to:-Reflect on our heart's condition to see if there are areas that need God's restoring or transforming work.-Surrender our heart to God and ask Him to soften it.-Seek God's guidance and renewal daily.-Guard our heart - everything we do flows from it.-Seek encouragement from others to stay faithful.Jeremiah 17:9-10, Psalm 51:6-10, Ezekiel 36:26, Matthew 15:18-19, Proverbs 4:23, Hebrews 3:12-13
You want to see revival? Pick up the mantle. The God of Elijah responds to hungry hearts. Jeremiah 29:13. "You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your hearts." Elisha followed Elijah closely because he was hungry for the double portion. Hunger is the magnet that attracts divine presence.

Job's friends break the silence.Eliphaz: “Suffering proves guilt—repent and God will restore you.” Bildad: “Tradition says the wicked perish, the righteous endure. Seek God.” Zophar: “Your words are empty. Hidden sin explains your pain. Turn back.”But Job refuses their easy answers. He cries out in anguish: “I am innocent. My suffering is not proof of sin.” He challenges their wisdom, points out that the wicked often prosper, and longs for a voice to plead his case before God.Hope flickers: “I know my Redeemer lives.” Yet defiance holds: “Till I die, I will not deny my integrity.”The debate spirals—friends accuse, Job resists. Their words expose the limits of human wisdom, setting the stage for God's reply.

In a time of lack, the one we can always turn to is God. Most times we are getting pulled in so many different directions and we get lost in the crowd. God is always there with us and waiting for us to come to him and seek him. He already knows what we lack and need, but we have to be willing to seek him. I want you to always remember that he gave so we should be willing to give to others.
In the second half of Psalm 27, we find ourselves right where we didn't want to be – questioning if God heard us, wondering if He's nearby. The honesty of these words tell us its OK to call out, to question where He is and to look for him.. When my heart whispered, “Seek God,” my whole being replied, “I'm seeking him!” That's it! -- Look for Him. Stay with Him. Trust Him, and don't quit. What do you do when your resources feel like they're running out? Let's unpack Elijah's encounter with the widow at Zarephath and how God used her small act of obedience to release daily provision. Let's break the scarcity mindset and learn to depend on God's word even when circumstances look bleak. Seek God first and respond with a handful of obedience.
As we close our series on prayer, Jesus shows us the clearest contrast between the prayers God rejects and the prayers He receives. In Matthew 6, He exposes the empty, self-centered, performance-driven prayers that lead nowhere—and then gives us the pattern for prayer that moves heaven. In this episode, we will walk through practical examples of “wrong prayers” and compare them to the God-honoring posture modeled in the Lord's Prayer. Silence becomes a teacher when it pushes us toward praying the way Jesus instructed.
In honor of my book relaunch, I am sharing this special STRENGTH acrostic episode that I recorded in 2023 around the one-year birthday of my first edition of Depth. You are going to learn so much for Evelyn Sherwood! Have you ever felt the presence of God? Have you ever felt Him close to you? I know for me, I felt the presence of God the most in the middle of my hard seasons: my divorce, the loss of my friend, and my miscarriage. Maybe you can relate. This week on the podcast, I am so excited to have Evelyn Sherwood. She is a friend of mine who sadly has walked through many hardships. One of the things we talk about today is just how much she felt the presence of God in the middle of this hard season. She actually says this amazing quote (I am going to give you a little sneak peek because it is so good). She says, "The sweetness of His presence far surpassed the pain of my suffering." Evelyn has so much wisdom to share with you. So, we are going to be going through the acrostic. Today we look at S which stands for Seek God and Invite Him Into the pain. I am so excited for you to hear the wisdom from Evelyn of how she was able to seek God and invite Him into the middle of her pain. She went through an intense 18 month season where there was one storm after another, so you do not want to miss the truth she shares! Below are the other letters from the STRENGTH acrostic in my Depth book! I will be showing all the interviews over on YouTube- one each week! Pastor Nate brings the message, "Seek God and Live” from the book of Amos. This week we will turn to the book of Amos and do a fly-over of it in one sermon. Like last week (Joel), the theme of repentance once again comes to the surface. What does it look like to practice regular repentance? And, where do I even start? We'll explore those questions this Sunday.
In a time when witchcraft, crystals, and “spiritual energy” are being disguised as harmless or even healing, the call for believers is clear: seek the Creator, not the counterfeit. In this episode, we'll talk about the danger of chasing false sources of power and the beauty of finding everything we need in God alone.
In this episode of She Lives Purposefully, I'm opening up about a season that's very real for me right now — a season of waiting, uncertainty, and trusting God when I don't know what's next. As we welcome a new baby and care for our little one, I've found myself returning to these unshakable truths: Seek God first. Before the blessing, before the next step — seek Him. (Matthew 6:33) Stay in His Word. God's Word lights the path one step at a time. (Psalm 119:105) Pray and listen. He wants to guide you. (Isaiah 30:21, Psalm 32:8, Proverbs 3:5-6) Seek wise counsel. There's safety in godly advice. (Proverbs 15:22) Do the next right thing. Like David and Joseph, obedience in the small things leads to God's greater plans. Trust His timing. Just like in Esther's story, God's timing is never off. Whether you're praying about your next move, waiting for a promise, or simply unsure what God wants from you — this episode will encourage you to seek His presence more than His plans, to trust His heart even when you can't see the full picture, and to rest knowing He's leading the way. This Sunday, Pastor Rheva shared a powerful message from 1 Corinthians 1 titled “Give Us Wisdom.”Paul wrote to the young church in Corinth—a diverse, fast-growing community struggling with division. Pastor Rheva reminded us that, like them, we sometimes let personalities, opinions, or cultural trends pull us apart. But Paul calls us back to unity in Christ, the One who was crucified for us.The message of the cross may seem foolish to the world, but it is the very power and wisdom of God. Human wisdom—no matter how intelligent or advanced—can't replace what only God reveals through His Spirit.Pastor Rheva encouraged us to:Stay united around Christ, not divided by differences.Seek God's wisdom, not the world's opinions.Remember that if we lack wisdom, we can ask—and God gives it generously (James 1:5).Let's continue to walk in the power of the cross and the wisdom that comes from above. For more info, you can go to our website, check us out on Instagram, Facebook, or YouTube. Are You a Part of What God Is Doing in Our Country Today? Do You Seek God's Presence in Your Life? MESSAGE SUMMARY: Can you tell what God is up to in the World, in our time, in our church, and in America? Are you a part of what God is doing in the world today, or are you just reacting to what God is doing, thereby, creating conflict and division? Psalms 105 reminds you of God's power in the world if you do seek His presence in your life: “Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually! Remember the wondrous works that he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he uttered.". On the other hand, Paul, in 1 Thessalonians 1:9, warns you of the implications for not including the presence of Jesus in your worldly considerations: “They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might.”. While the Lord is leading, and directing, it seems that we are wrapped up in our agenda and our way of doing things; therefore, we miss God's presence; and we miss the Holy Spirit in our lives. TODAY'S PRAYER: Lord, everything in me resists following you into the garden of Gethsemane to fall on my face to the ground before you. Grant me the courage to follow you all the way to the cross, whatever that might mean for my life. And then, by your grace, lead me to resurrection life and power. In Jesus' name, amen. Scazzero, Peter. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 100). Zondervan. Kindle Edition. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Hatred. Rather, I will abide in the Lord's Love. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5). Seek God From a Pure Heart by High Street Church
Church Life, “Are You a Good Berean?” (Acts 17:10-15) The Right Mind (vv. 10-11)Wisdom is the right use of knowledge. To know is not to be wise. Many men know a great deal, and are all the greater fools for it. There is no fool so great a fool as a knowing fool. But to know how to use knowledge is to have wisdom. - Charles Spurgeon - Heb. 5:12-14 12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic principles of the oracles of God. You need milk, not solid food, 13 for everyone who lives on milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, since he is a child. 14 But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil. Ro. 15:4 For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. The Right Heart (v. 12) The Right Mission (vv. 13-15)How to Develop Wisdom and Discernment (through God's means of grace):1. Seek God in the word (be a good Berean)2. Seek God in prayer (Ja. 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.)3. Seek God in the fellowship of the local church (‘iron sharpens iron')

Nancy and I are back together to discuss a topic that frequently shows up in our inbox: one-sided marriages. These are spouses who reach out because, even in the midst of disconnect and hurt, they still desire a healthy, God-honoring marriage, but feel like they're the only one who cares or the only one willing to put in the work. How do you reconcile and reconnect? That's the focus of our conversation today. I'm praying this episode encourages those who feel alone and offers hope and next steps for fighting for your marriage. Episode Highlights: Love like Christ without enabling. Communicate with curiosity, not accusation. Persevere in prayer and faithful action. Seek God's glory above all else Quotes from Today's Episode: Fighting for your marriage as a Christian means pursuing Christ-like love even when it's not reciprocated This isn't about becoming a doormat or enabling destructive behavior, but rather embodying the gospel in your relationship. Approach with curiosity rather than accusation: "I've noticed you seem really tired lately. How can I support you?" Continue showing love through actions without demanding emotional reciprocation. Don't take the bait to defend yourself constantly or prove your spouse wrong—this keeps you stuck in an unhealthy cycle. But remember, you can't force insight or repentance—that's between them and God. Humility doesn't mean accepting mistreatment or pretending everything is fine. Your humble confidence in who God created you to be can actually challenge your spouse to rise up rather than settle. Standing in the gap means interceding in prayer, maintaining hope when your spouse has lost it, and continuing to live out your marriage vows even when they're not. The goal is always God's glory and following His heart, which deeply desires reconciliation. Couples' Conversation Guide: How connected do you feel to your spouse on a scale of 1-10? Do you feel like you are trying to shoulder the burden of your marriage alone? Are there unhealthy patterns in your marriage that need to be addressed? Are there areas of your marriage that you've settled for mediocrity or disconnect? Mentioned in this Episode: Find Awesome Marriage on Instagram! Are you an overthinker? Do you think about something way longer than anyone else would? I know I do. I sit there and ruminate over things that most people would have let go of after just a couple minutes. This is the struggle I have- maybe you have this same struggle. So I was so excited when I came across this book this summer. It is a brand-new release by Max Lucado called *Tame Your Thoughts: Three Tools to Renew Your Mind and Transform Your Life. After seeing it, I bought this book immediately and read it in one day- it is so good! It is full of some truth and practical advice to help. I am going to share some of my favorite takeaways from his new book as well as from an older book called *Anxious for Nothing by Max Lucado. I highly recommend these books!
