This week on Get Out In It, we're talking about the brands we run in — and what they stand for when we're not thinking about pace, splits, or PBs. The episode was sparked by a simple but uncomfortable question: what happens when you love the gear, but feel conflicted about the values behind the brand? Using Nike as a starting point — and the recent headlines around co-founder Phil Knight's personal political donations — we explore the tension between performance, ethics, and consumer choice. From there, we zoom out to look at how money, influence, and brand leadership shape the world runners and outdoor lovers exist in, before shifting the focus to brands genuinely trying to do better. We highlight companies like Patagonia and Allbirds, alongside smaller running and outdoor brands putting sustainability, transparency, and social impact at the heart of what they do. This isn't about telling anyone what they should or shouldn't wear. There are no perfect brands — and no guilt trips here. It's about awareness, curiosity, and giving ourselves permission to ask better questions about where our money goes. A thoughtful, honest conversation about running, values, and how small choices can still matter.

This week we're exploring our favorite games where choices actually matter.
Today, we're tackling a topic that we've discussed many times before, but new research has reinforced what we've long believed—how we live has a much greater impact on how long we live than our genetic makeup. You've probably heard someone say, “Oh, you have good genes” when referring to someone who's lived into their 90s or beyond. But if longevity doesn't seem to run in your family, don't worry—because the latest research shows that your lifestyle and environment play a far greater role than your genetics in determining lifespan.
Afterlove EP, developed by Pikselnesia, is a slice-of-life story that follows a young musician named Rama, as he struggles to reconnect with his friends and his music in the wake of the death of his girlfriend. The game takes place in modern day Jakarta, and players will find themselves immersed in the sights and sounds of the city through the game's beautifully illustrated environments. You'll help Rama build back relationships with his bandmates as you practice for an upcoming gig. You'll guide him through the sweet and nerve-wracking world of dating. Most importantly, players can help Rama make sure he gets his butt to therapy so he can process all these new experiences and feelings. In episode 44 of No Small Games, Kate and Emily dive into the similarities and differences in their experiences of Afterlove EP. They discuss the Choices Matter gameplay: what worked well for them and what didn't. Most importantly, they reveal who they chose to date and how that worked out for Rama. We hope you love our discussion of this heartfelt game! Pastor Tim's sermon talks about how our choices help grow strong faith, using Daniel's story as an example. He reminds us to build our faith when life is good, stay faithful during hard times, and keep trusting God after the trouble passes. The main points are to read the Bible, pray, confess our sins, and wait patiently for God's answers.

Your choices and decisions matter. What you choose to do and how you choose to do is vital. Join us for a deeper study into Psalm 27.
Deb Davis shares Wednesday's devotional podcast from Bible Fellowship Church. [Scripture: Ephesians 2:1-10]
Pastor Damian’s schedule included hospital visits to two people nearing death who’d chosen two different life paths. In one hospital was a woman beloved by her family. Her selfless public service had endeared her to many. Other believers in Jesus had gathered around her, and worship, prayer, and hope filled the room. In another hospital the relative of a member of Pastor Damian’s church was also dying. His hardened heart had led to a hard life, and his disheveled family lived in the wake of his poor decisions and misdeeds. The differences in the two atmospheres reflected the contrasts in how each had lived. Those who fail to consider where they’re headed in life often find themselves stuck in uncomfortable, undesirable, lonely places. Proverbs 14:12 notes that “there is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.” Young or old, sick or well, wealthy or impoverished—it’s not too late to reexamine our path. Where will it lead? Does it honor God? Does it help or disrupt others? Is it the best path for a believer in Jesus? Choices do matter. And the God of heaven will help us make the best choices as we turn to Him through His Son, Jesus, who said, “Come to me, . . . and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).
No matter the decision, whether it be financial, family, business, career, health, etc. the end result is a byproduct of the little choices that you make each and every day. Your choices matter and they will lead you astray if you don't take control.

The Accountability Minute:Business Acceleration|Productivity
Whether we like it or not, we all make choices all the time (every second of every day); consciously and subconsciously, hard decisions and easy decisions, choices that not only affect us but those around us, life altering decisions and choices that, in hindsight, took us down the wrong path. But hey… that's life! As human beings, it's often easier to choose the path of least resistance. After all, we are creatures of habit, so if it's habitual for you to cocoon yourself inside your comfort zone, then it's highly likely you'll always choose the “soft option”. But living a life of quiet desperation is a choice, and people who choose to live life in this way have to take on the responsibility for making that choice. On the other hand, there are those of us who accept that making choices isn't always easy and isn't always comfortable and want to live a life ripe with new opportunities, new visions, new adventures, and new challenges. Challenges allow us to grow and learn from the experiences we encounter. Consider this: life doesn't just happen. The life we choose to lead is dictated by the choices we've made in the past, those we make today and those we'll make in the future. To live an extraordinary life, we need to understand and focus on what we want to achieve, and then make choices that will ultimately lead us to the goals we want to attain. Orly Wahba is an international motivational speaker, educator, entrepreneur, author, and community activist. She is passionate about inspiring people to make the world a kinder place. In this engaging interview, Orly shares with us a powerful message: When We Value Ourselves, We Value the Choices that We Make. Our choices have an impact on other people. When we choose to be kind to others, we literally have the power to change not only their lives, but the lives of hundreds of other people through a ripple affect as our one small act of kindness is payed forward. It is so important to know that When We Understand Our Own Value, We Understand the Value of Other People. Orly also talks about discovering and actualizing our life purpose. The first step is to write down your dream and WHY you want to achieve it. Don't worry about HOW to achieve it; just fully and deeply understand WHY you want it. Then, write down your dream or vision on a piece of paper; go into as much detail as you can. Don't be overwhelmed by the gap between where you are now, and where you want to be. The next step is to write down one or two small actions that you will take that will be bring you closer to your dream. Once you complete those actions, write down the next actions that will bring you even closer to your dream. This is a process that takes time. As you start to manifest your dream, Hashem (G-d) will send you opportunities and resources to continuously take you to the next level. Don't give up! Orly is the founder of Life Vest, a non-profit organization with a mission to inspire, empower, and educate people of all backgrounds to lead a life of kindness. (Life Vest website: https://www.lifevestinside.com/about/our-founder/) Orly also created the Abraham's legacy app, which she named after her grandfather. With the Abraham's Legacy app, groups of people can complete the book of tehillim thousands of times a day, collectively with the entire world.
