Host: Marrin Costello Guest: Claire Van Holland Claire Van Holland is a creative first, who also likes crunching numbers. She is a true 50% left brain, right brain split. She fell into data analytics, financial projections and budget forecasting over the course of an extensive career in corporate media, which include Pandora Media, Disney Interactive & MySpace Media to name a few. After co-founding a furniture design business with her husband Aaron in 2011, she realized she could provide more impact by using her corporate analytics experience to help other creatives achieve financial autonomy through collaboration. For small business, that entry point is with bookkeeping and day to day accounting. She launched the CV Ledger in early 2016 and the rest is history… Produced by @IslandCityMediaGroup

Oftentimes when we talk about creativity and practicality or the “left” and “right” sides of our brain, we pit the two against each other. You are creative or you are practical, artistic or scientific, predominantly left or right brained. But is the expectation that we can only be one thing realistic?During our conversation, Claire Van Holland, the owner and founder of CV Ledger, explained to me the power and value she's found in embracing both her left and right brained tendencies and bringing creativity into accounting. Although Claire's path to founding her company and getting to where she is today wasn't linear, she prioritized staying true to herself and that is exactly what makes her a fearless female and successful entrepreneur.Claire is the first to admit that nobody is perfect when it comes to balancing all the different parts of yourself, listening to your inner voice, or saying no when you want to say no. Those skills are all things we hone over time and will always be working on. Through that work, we owe ourselves a little bit of grace. We're all still figuring it out, and that's ok.To learn more about Claire and CV Ledger, you can visit her website and follow her on Instagram. The Finding Fearless Podcasts primary purpose is to highlight female entrepreneurs' voices. This has been a Fearless Foundry production. All audio is recorded and owned by Fearless Foundry.

Probably no one was more surprised than Claire to discover she was “one of those” that had the ability to engage with both sides of her brain. Not one to waste her gifts, she fills her life with her own creative pursuits while running a business that financially empowers other creative entrepreneurs. In an easy-going style, Claire Van Holland shares her life behind the scenes in my radio show, “Entrepreneurial Voice” with Jan McCarthy.
