- The annual IAAPA Expo kicked off this week in Orlando. Showcasing some of the best new products coming in Themed Entertainment. - Busch Gardens and SeaWorld have used the event to reveal the coaster cars for their up coming rides, including Iron Gwazi and Texas Stingray - Legoland New York used the expor to announce a new ride the Lego Factory Adventure Ride which will allow riders to view themselves as Lego Minifigures. - The Thea Awards were also presented at the IAAPA expo, with winners including Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, Hagrid's Magical Creatures motorbike adventure, and Popcorn's Revenge. - Star Wars Galaxy's Edge won two awards at the Thea Awards, and also picked up a Grammy Nomination for the theme song of the new land, composed by John Williams. - Disney has shown off rehearsals for the new Cirque Du Soleil show coming to Disney Springs. - The menu's have been release for Epcot's International Festival of the Holidays, which starts next week including a Sushi Tree in Japan. - Knott's Berry Farm have announced that Triotech have been working with former Imagineer Rolly Crump on the re-invention of Knott's Bear-y Tales, who was instrumental in the building of the original version of the ride. - The Christmas events have started at Universal Orlando, the celebrations include special treats, the Macy's day parade, and the Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle. Events run until January 5th.
This week's Theme Park News: - Disneyland previewed their "Get Your Ears On - A Mickey and Minnie Celebration" event this week, include two perfomances of the EDM style Projection show "Mickey's Mix Magic." - Construction walls have have gone up on part of the Jurassic Park land at Island's of Adventure, further adding the speculation that a Dinosaur themed coaster is on it's way. - Movie Park Germany is building a new area themed to the popular kid's cartoon PAW Patrol. - Epcot's International Festival of the Arts kicks off today, and earlier this week Disney released the menus for this event. New foods include Beef Wellington and a Sushi Donut. - WDW has announced this years dates for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, which runs from August 16th through to November 1st. - Sea World Orlando will add a Sesame Stree Parade in 2019. - Universal Orlando have started taking reservations for the Endless Summer Resort's Dockside Inn and Suites, which will open in May 2020. - Tivoli Gardens in Denmark is set to spend 13.5 million Euros for the 2019 season to replace some of their smaller rides, including the Odinexpressen and the Camel Trail coaster. - Dubai Parks and Resorts have announced a 22 percent increase in attendance in calender year 2018.
