In this episode, I talk with Tony about his family's February trip to Walt Disney World, featuring heavy park hopping, a split stay at Disney's Polynesian and BoardWalk, and efficient planning with Lightning Lanes and extended evening hours. They enjoyed highlights like frequent Tiana's Bayou Adventure rides and multiple lounge stops, low early-week crowds that rose near Presidents Day, and big wins such as Frozen Ever After's reopening, Rise of the Resistance rope drop, Droid Depot builds, and the new Starlight parade. We throw the notes out the window and just hit record the second Rhonda walks in the door — because we were in two different states all weekend and somehow didn't actually talk about any of it until now. Rhonda breaks down her girls' trip to Athens, Georgia for a Bailey Zimmerman concert, complete with rainy plans, Parents' Weekend crowds, questionable hotel choices, and an Uber ride that felt like the opening scene of a horror movie (but, spoiler, everyone survives). Meanwhile, Jeremy's weekend turns into a full-on Disney-to-DC sprint: Hollywood Studios and EPCOT festival bites, a detour to Disney Springs with friends, a peek at a two-person DVC tower studio at Riviera with a killer Spaceship Earth view, and a stop at Cake Bake Shop that ends with banana pudding magic. And then… it's off property chaos time. Think: smoky lobby, system outage, no key card, a toilet that won't flush, and a very real “time is money” reminder that ties right back into our on-property vs off-property debate from last episode. It's funny, it's honest, it's chaotic in the best way — and it's basically you sitting at the kitchen table with us.

It was a packed month for Disney and DVC news and we are breaking it all down!In this episode of The DVC Show, we cover the NEW Winter and Early Spring 2026 DVC incentives and what they really mean after the recent direct price increases. Has the gap between direct and resale narrowed in certain situations? Who do these incentives actually make sense for? We walk through real world math scenarios for first time buyers, small add ons, and high demand resorts. We also hit the headline of Josh D'Amaro being named the next Disney CEO and share our initial reactions before next week's full deep dive into what this could mean for the parks and DVC.Plus, Villains Land rumors are heating up again. Were the original plans scrapped? Is Imagineering being told to think bigger? And would you rather wait longer for something incredible or get something smaller sooner? We also discuss Moonlight Magic 2026 merchandise, the 2027 DVC Member Cruise, the new 35th Anniversary logo, and the refreshed rooms at Animal Kingdom Lodge Kidani Village.Question of the week: Is this the most competitive direct pricing we have seen since the price increases? Welcome back everybody, to another episode of Mickey Marvel and More! Do you know what the hardest part of a Disney theme park vacation is? Some would say it's getting the final bill, and they wouldn't be wrong, but for us, it's riding by the backside of the Disney World or Disneyland Resort sign and reading the words “see you real soon.” Probably the next hardest part is that first day back in the real world. So what can you do to fight that Disney depression? Are there ways to keep that Disney theme park magic going in between trips? Well, in today's family chat, Laura and I are going to sit down around the virtual table and talk about some of the really fun things that we do to keep that Disney theme park spirit alive at home, with a little something that we call Disney dupes. What does that mean? Listen to this episode to find out! The suitcase zippers are straining, work piled up all week, and a Disney Magic cruise is hours away. Perfect time to hit rewind to January 2022! We're taking you back to where our show began, re-airing our very first recording, and reintroducing the two nerds behind the microphones: Alicea and Nathan, high school sweethearts who moved from the East Coast to the Seattle area and accidentally became Disney adults. We unpack the numbers that shape our point of view: 14 Disney trips since 2009, 127 nights in Disney stays, and 11 cruises—two of them Panama Canal crossings, one finishing as the world was closing down. You'll hear the earliest sparks that made Disney stick, from a drumline turning onto Main Street with the castle dead ahead to the Wonderful World of Disney and Mousercise on vinyl. Then we rapid-fire through our favorites with practical detail: why Haunted Mansion still haunts us, why Rise of the Resistance feels more like cinema than a queue, and how PeopleMover earns its “underrated” crown. We talk DVC stays at Riviera and Aulani, the intimacy of the Disney Wonder, Garden Grill breakfasts that feel personal, and the eternal Dole Whip vs. churro standoff. This is also a map for what came next. We share how we keep up with Disney news without parroting headlines, how we'll handle topics like Genie+ only after firsthand use, and why our goal is to deliver weekly, focused episodes that help you plan smarter trips without losing the joy. Expect honest takes, usable tips, and plenty of park and cruise wisdom gathered from real itineraries. Have a question or a hot take? We want your voice in the mix.Subscribe, share with a fellow Disney fan, and leave a quick review to help others find the show. Then tell us: which park wins your heart, and what's the one ride you'll never skip?----Adventures & Mousecapades is a passion project from Alicea & Nathan Novak - two Seattleites addicted to The Mouse. We are not affiliated with Disney, nor are we travel agents. Opinions are our own.Instagram, Threads, Facebook, Twitter: @ourmousecapadesOurMousecapades.compodcast@ourmousecapades.com

Summary In this episode, Shelby and Courtney reconnect after a break in recording, sharing updates on their lives and discussing listener feedback on a recent episode with runDisney enthusiast Meghan Swope. They delve into their experiences with DVC ownership, the excitement surrounding the Super Bowl LX, and the dynamics of coaching changes in the NFL (most notably The Patriots). The conversation also touches on the Milan Cortino Olympics and the differences between summer and winter sports, all while maintaining a light-hearted and engaging tone. Shelby and Courtney discuss their favorite Olympic sports, particularly gymnastics and figure skating, while also exploring their preferences for background entertainment during daily tasks. The dialogue flows from a light-hearted introduction to a deeper exploration of winter sports and personal entertainment habits, providing insights into their personalities and interests. Discussion wraps up with Kyle asking which Disney Parks ride has the most hidden Mickeys, and an exploration of what qualifies as a Hidden Mickey in general. Takeaways Listener feedback can be incredibly motivating. DVC experiences can vary greatly between members and ownership type. Coaching changes can impact team performance dramatically. The Patriots have had a tumultuous recent history. Fan perspectives can shift based on team performance. The Olympics bring a different kind of excitement. In Summer Olympics, Shelby enjoys swimming and track and field. There is a call for more gymnastics events outside the Olympics. Figure skating is a favorite winter sport. Shelby is currently watching 'Traders' featuring Johnny Weir. The duo discusses the beauty of figure skating performances. They share their thoughts on Olympic couples in figure skating. Shelby prefers silence while doing house tasks. Music is often played in the background at home. Courtney enjoys having shows on while multitasking.

Send us a textStart with a Grapefruit Rose martini and a question that's equal parts cheeky and practical: how do you find, become, or thrive with a Disney sugar mama or sugar daddy? We take Valentine's energy to Disneyland and beyond, unpacking the social signals of luxury park life—top-tier passes, DVC contracts that stretch across coasts, Minnie Vans as default, and the kind of confidence that comes from knowing you'll never wait more than twenty minutes for anything. From Sweethearts' Nite to late-night walk-ons, we explore what it really feels like to skip “gen pop” and step into concierge mode. Think character breakfasts as a morning ritual, signature meals like Victoria & Albert's as date-night baseline, and premium events that turn a random Tuesday into a memory. We also get honest about the rare air—Club 33 whispers, Golden Oak sightings, and those around-the-world Disney tours that stitch every park into one epic story. It's not just fantasy; there are real cues, communities, and rhythms that define this level of Disney. But perks alone don't make the magic. We map the duties that keep the vibe frictionless: mastering ADRs 60 days out, holding lines so your partner arrives right on time, knowing the perfect pool chairs, and capturing photos that hit favorite angles and light. Add thoughtful shopping instincts—loungefly drops, limited pins, spirit jerseys—and you become the plus-one who makes every splurge feel effortless. Under the humor sits a simple truth: generosity is a love language, and gratitude is how you say it back.If you love Disney, crave smarter park days, and enjoy a little playful strategy with your romance, this one's for you. 2. 8.

Send us a textTwo holiday parties. One short trip. We set out to answer a question every Disney fan asks in December: should you book Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom or Jollywood Nights at Hollywood Studios? After doing both just days apart, we share what truly feels like Christmas, where the entertainment hits hardest, and how to get the most value for your crew.If warm nostalgia is your love language, Magic Kingdom delivers: snowfall on Main Street, Santa in the parade, free cookie and cocoa stations, and beloved characters in cozy winter looks. We met princesses with their princes—Cinderella and Prince Charming, Rapunzel and Flynn, Snow White and her Prince—and moved quickly through lines late at night. For collectors, we talk sippers, the red truck popcorn bucket, and the pro tip to keep popcorn out of your bucket so it stays pristine.Jollywood, meanwhile, shines with modern Hollywood energy. Think live music, a magnetic ice skating show under Florida skies, roaming dance parties with tuxedoed Goofy and Pluto, and a projection spectacular at the Chinese Theater. Character hunters will appreciate surprises like Scrooge McDuck and an easy meet with Miguel if you know where to look. Foodies and cocktail fans will love the specialty small plates and themed drinks, while families focused on value may favor the included treats at Very Merry. We also break down strategy: how to structure your day so you're not dragging by fireworks, when to choose driving over buses or Skyliner, and how to pick the right party for kids, grandparents, or an adults-only night. With variable pricing, DVC discounts, and even free ornaments, the details matter—and we've got the playbook. Many people are already booking their room reservations for the holiday. Are you ready to plan your December 2026 trip? Hit play, choose your vibe—nostalgic cookies or glamorous cocktails—and tell us which party you'd pick. We're putting Disney's Old Key West Resort head-to-head with Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa to see which laid-back villa resort comes out on top. Both resorts offer spacious accommodations, boat access to Disney Springs, and a slower, more relaxed pace than your typical theme park hotel—but they go about it in very different ways. Old Key West brings Florida Keys charm, oversized villas, and that “this feels like home” energy that longtime DVC fans love. Saratoga Springs counters with elegant Victorian theming, newer-feeling rooms, Treehouse Villas, and one of the best locations for easy Disney Springs access. We break things down round by round, comparing theming and atmosphere, room size and comfort, dining options, transportation and walkability, recreation and amenities, and overall value for your vacation dollars or DVC points. As always, we leave the final decision open during the episode so you can play along at home and decide which resort deserves the crown. Is bigger always better? Does location beat nostalgia? And which one truly delivers the best Disney resort experience?Grab your scorecard, settle in, and let the Resort Wars begin.
