Brook and Robin Lopez are known as the powerhouse twins of the NBA... but they'd prefer to be thought of more as the real life Chip 'n' Dale (you know, if they were seven feet tall). As lovable and wild as they are competitive, Brook and Robin get into how they became inseparable - from an upbringing that included them being literally leashed together as kids, their brothers making them duke it out, and what it was like playing each other as they were coming up as teammates and NBA rivals. The brothers also reveal the origins of their lifelong passion for animation, what the perks of being NBA stars are for them (like attending a dream come true table read of "The Simpsons"), and how much of their lives off the court revolves around their shared love of Disney - including Brook meeting his now wife at Disney World's Animal Kingdom and buying homes at Magic Kingdom on both coasts. We're recapping a packed Disney trip that took us from Blizzard Beach to EPCOT, from a one-night resort stay to Banana Ball, and finally to Disney's Animal Kingdom for breakfast, snacks, shopping, and Disney's new Bluey experience. We kick things off at Blizzard Beach, where we cool down with some water park fun, try a couple of sweet treats including the S'mores Churro, and even run into a listener along the way. From there, we head to EPCOT to check out the limited-time Annual Passholder Lounge inside Restaurant Marrakesh and share whether this summer perk is worth making time for. Next, we check into the Meliá Orlando Celebration for a one-night stay before heading to ESPN Wide World of Sports to experience Banana Ball. We'll discuss the atmosphere, entertainment, and whether this unique event lives up to the hype. On Saturday, we make our way to Disney's Animal Kingdom for breakfast at Satu'li Canteen, check out some new merchandise, sample snacks from Isle of Java and Pizzafari, and join the virtual queue for Disney's newest Bluey experience. Along the way, we highlight our favorite moments, biggest surprises, best values, and the experiences we'd most recommend. Whether you're planning a Walt Disney World vacation or just love hearing about what's new around the parks, this episode is packed with reviews, tips, and plenty of Disney fun.

This last week Disney announced that the Carousel of Progress would be closing after July 5th to be completely refurbished. John and Sara and the family will all be part of this four act show, but it will be set in completely new eras. We showcase the news of what this show will look like, and provide insights about what it means. But we're also taking the time to step back in history to see how this show came to be legendary to millions of people around the world. Indeed its history goes back to 1958, nearly some 70 years ago. From Edison Square to the New York World's Fair, from a new 1967 Tomorrowland in Disneyland until its final home in the Magic Kingdom, we will look at little known stories and details about this amazing show whose creator is the ever visionary Walt Disney. Join as on the Carousel of Progress as it prepares for a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow. http://www.attractionchecklist.com - It's time to soar through the air above the streets of Adventureland as we head to Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom to ride The Magic Carpets of Aladdin on this episode of Attraction Checklist. Attraction audio recorded on June 6, 2024. TRANSCRIPT: Welcome to Attraction Checklist. I can show you the world.Shining, shimmering, splendid. That's because on today's episode we're going to ride The Magic Carpets of Aladdin at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom. The Walt Disney World Website describes this attraction saying: Fly high over Adventureland on an enchanted carpet ride inspired by the Disney movie Aladdin. There are no height requirements for this attraction. Before we see a new fantastic point of view, here are five fast facts about The Magic Carpets of Aladdin. 1. The Magic Carpets of Aladdin opened at Magic Kingdom on Wednesday, May 23, 2001. 2. While similar to Dumbo the Flying Elephant which we covered in Attraction Checklist Episode #164, each carpet vehicle of The Magic Carpets of Aladdin can hold more than two riders. 3. The riders in the front of the magic carpet can control how high each carpet can soar into the air. 4. The Magic Carpets of Aladdin inspired two similar versions of the attraction in other Disney Parks. Flying Carpets Over Agrabah in Disneyland Paris and Jasmine's Flying Carpets at the Tokyo Disney Resort. 5. The infamous spitting golden camels at the entrance to the attraction had a former life as part of a flat in the Aladdin's Royal Caravan Parade that ran from 1992 to 1995. Let's get in line and ride The Magic Carpets of Aladdin.. After the show I'll give you my thoughts on this classic attraction. This is a binaural recording so if you have headphones put them on now as we ride The Magic Carpets of Aladdin at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom. We're putting two of Walt Disney World's most beloved Deluxe Resorts head-to-head as Disney's Yacht Club Resort takes on Disney's Beach Club Resort. These sister resorts may share Stormalong Bay and a prime Crescent Lake location, but they offer two very different vacation vibes — and we're breaking it all down to decide which one comes out on top. We compare Yacht Club's refined nautical elegance and quieter, more adult-leaning atmosphere against Beach Club's bright, beachy energy and family-friendly charm. From theming and room comfort to dining, transportation, recreation, and overall value, each resort battles it out round by round in classic Resort Wars fashion. We also discuss fan-favorite dining locations like Yachtsman Steakhouse, Ale & Compass, Cape May Cafe, and Beaches & Cream, plus the unbeatable walkability to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios that makes this resort area one of the best on property. If you're trying to decide which resort is best for your next Walt Disney World vacation — whether you're planning an adults-only getaway, family trip, festival weekend, or pool-focused staycation — this episode should help you decide which side of Crescent Lake deserves your vote.
Most Disney fans think they know what their must-visit restaurants, rides, and resorts are — but what if some of the classics just don't make the cut? Jeremy and Phil challenge each other in an epic game of "Keep or Cut," ranking everything from beloved attractions like Haunted Mansion and Cosmic Rewind to resorts like Polynesian and Wilderness Lodge. The twists and surprises will change the way you plan your next trip!In this episode, you'll discover how preferences shift when faced with the ultimate Disney lineup. Jeremy reveals the surprising speed drop of Big Thunder Mountain from 36 to 27 miles per hour — and what that says about Disney's safety updates. We break down the latest park construction, including new queue designs for Expedition Everest and a controversy over the reduced ride speed. Plus, get insider tips from guests about staying at Disney resorts, dining experiences like Ohana and Cape May Café, and must-try snacks from Dole Whip to Tonga Toast. You'll also hear hilarious listener questions, including:Which single restaurant would you choose to eat at for an entire week? What would you do if given one hour alone in Magic Kingdom?Which rides and snacks are absolute essentials — and which ones are overrated? This episode is perfect for seasoned Disney lovers wanting a fresh perspective, planning their next adventure, or simply curious about what truly makes a Disney trip unforgettable. Jeremy and Phil's playful banter packs a punch, making this a must-listen for anyone obsessed with Disney's magic — and ready to rethink what really counts.Ready to shake up your Disney favorites? Most families head into a Walt Disney World trip with a quiet fear they'll come home heavier, sluggish, and totally off track. In this episode I sit down with Jake Mayes, a fitness and nutrition coach who runs Magical Transformations, to talk about food, fitness, and the mindset that actually works on a Disney vacation. Jake and I cover how to think about eating and movement at the parks without ruining your trip. We dig into the 80/20 rule, why crash diets like 75 Hard before a Disney trip almost always backfire, and how to build a step count gradually so you are ready for 15,000 to 20,000 step park days. Jake shares his favorite clean eating spots at each park, his honest take on what to eat when you actually want to feel good, and the snacks he refuses to give up no matter what. Jake also breaks down which Disney foods sound healthy but really are not, including the truth about vegan and gluten free menu items, and how to handle food allergies at Disney quick service and table service restaurants. We get into specific orders worth trying, from the rotisserie chicken plate at Sunshine Seasons to the grilled salmon at Columbia Harbour House to the chopped salad at Hollywood Brown Derby. We close with a lightning round on Jake's favorite Disney snack he would never give up, his hot take on Joffrey's coffee, the best Disney resort gym he has ever used, and the most underrated high protein order in all of Walt Disney World. These include Jessie's Roundup, Goofycore, Soarin' Across America, Bluey's Wild World, Magic of Disney Animation (including Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live), Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run featuring The Mandalorian and Grogu, and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster: Starring the Muppets. We're recapping a wild Walt Disney World weekend that included car camping at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, trying out Lightning Lane Multi Pass over two full park days, eating our way around property, and finally getting to experience newly reopened attractions like Rock ‘n' Roller Coaster, Smuggler's Run, Big Thunder Mountain, Space Ranger Spin, and Soarin. We'll talk about the realities of Disney car camping, including setup, comfort, requesting the perfect campsite near the comfort station, nighttime campground vibes, and whether we'd actually do it again. Along the way, we packed in a ton of attractions across Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Hollywood Studios, including Tower of Terror, Toy Story Mania, TRON, Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, and more. Of course, there's also plenty of food discussion, including breakfast at Steakhouse 71, drinks and snacks at The Beak and Barrel, flatbreads at Baseline Tap House, dinner at Trail's End Restaurant, and an impromptu brunch stop at Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' before heading home. We'll break down what worked, what didn't, and whether this entire Disney weekend adventure was truly worth it. Watch our car camping "room" tour here!
A quiet corner of Adventureland sits directly across from Pirates of the Caribbean but rarely feels like part of the larger story unfolding around it. This week Stephen reimagines that space by repurposing Tortuga Tavern and its adjacent unused stage into Port Royal Provisions, a quick service port eatery paired with a live civic stage that turns everyday guest flow into part of a living breathing harbor town. The result is a layered environment where the civilian side of the Caribbean world responds to constant pirate activity just offshore. From British Caribbean inspired quick service food to civic announcements and reactive storytelling moments, the entire area is designed to feel orderly on the surface with tension always just beyond the waterline. The goal is simple make this forgotten pocket of Adventureland feel intentional connected and alive.Plus for the second week in a row we are featuring a listener submitted Imagineering pitch this time from Marshal Knight who brings a bold idea that relocates an existing Magic Kingdom attraction to EPCOT in a way that just makes sense.Don't forget to check us out on Instagram!

Can you believe we've been doing this podcast for 10 years!? What a Toad-esque wild ride it's been. In this episode, we take a trip down memory lane and discuss some of the Disney things we've lost and gained in the last decade. Also, we talk about personal worlds colliding with Rob's favorite band performing in front of the castle at the Magic Kingdom. Take a seat at the bar and follow us on social media! Our hosts are still off on their Route 66 adventure and they asked Jessica to play an episode from the archives - Episode 235. --Episode 235 Show Notes-- In today's episode, in recognition of Independence Day, our hosts Tracey and Scott share their recording of the Declaration of Independence performance of The Muppets Present... Great Moments in American History from their trip to the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. Then, they present their coverage of the latest Disney/Pixar theatrical release Cars 3. Did it race its way into their hearts or stall by the side of the road? You'll find out, along with production info and behind the scenes stories. After the movie talk, Tracey cruises into the Ink and Paint Club to meet with Adrian Ropp of Avalanche Software to talk about the company's latest project, Cars 3: Driven to Win. Our hosts then wrap up the show with a look at some upcoming Marvel events. Welcome to Disney, Indiana!
We break down our lunch buffet experience, from the atmosphere and character interactions to the food quality, variety, desserts, service, and overall value at Hollywood and Vine inside Disney's Hollywood Studios. We'll talk about what stood out, what fell flat, and whether Hollywood & Vine deserves its often mixed reputation among Walt Disney World fans. We also discuss the current pricing, which comes in at $64 per adult and $44 per child (ages 3–9), plus tax and gratuity, and whether we think it's worth paying full price. Luckily, we were able to take advantage of the current 40% off Annual Passholder dining discount, which definitely impacted the overall value conversation. If you've been debating whether Hollywood & Vine is worth booking for your next trip, especially with character dining prices continuing to rise, this episode should help you decide if this buffet is a hidden gem, a one-and-done experience, or somewhere in between.
This week on Where We Roam, we're talking location, location, location with a Disney Resort Showdown featuring three of our favorite Walt Disney World resorts close to the parks: Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, and Disney's Yacht Club Resort. But first, Dayna joins us live from Disney's Hollywood Studios with a Disney Parks update, including her experience riding Soarin' Across America at EPCOT and the anticipation around Muppets Electric Mayhem taking over Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. Then we go head-to-head-to-head with three very different Disney deluxe resorts. Animal Kingdom Lodge brings the savanna views, incredible theming, and some of the best resort dining at Disney World. The Polynesian delivers Monorail access, tropical vibes, Magic Kingdom convenience, and classic Disney nostalgia. Yacht Club brings the EPCOT resort area, walkability, Stormalong Bay, and easy access to both EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. We rank each resort across the categories that matter most: location and transportation, theme and atmosphere, room size and layout, food and beverage, pools and amenities, and overall value. Which Disney resort wins when location is the name of the game? Listen in as we debate three Walt Disney World favorites and crown our winner.

Len Testa and Chris Cox dive into one of Walt Disney World's newest debates: adult lounges versus family lounges. From the sleek, spaceship-inspired atmosphere of GEO-82 at EPCOT to the bustling pirate energy of the Beak and Barrel at Magic Kingdom, they break down which Disney bars are actually worth your time and money. Along the way, they compare Trader Sam's, Oga's Cantina, Enchanted Rose, and several hidden gems while unpacking guest satisfaction scores, drink pricing, seating frustrations, and what really separates a “grown-up” Disney lounge from a family-friendly hangout. HIGHLIGHTS • Why GEO-82's futuristic EPCOT theming impresses even as its cocktail prices raise eyebrows • The biggest issue holding Beak and Barrel back despite its strong Pirates of the Caribbean atmosphere • How Trader Sam's continues to outperform newer Disney lounges in guest satisfaction • Why Oga's Cantina may be more about the experience than the drinks themselves • Len reveals the surprisingly high-rated EPCOT lounge that most guests overlook entirely • Chris and Len debate what actually makes a Disney lounge feel “adult” versus “family-friendly” • A bizarre true story about missing judge Joseph Force Crater somehow becomes the episode's opening argument HOSTS • Jim Hill - IG: @JimHillMedia | X: @JimHillMedia | Website: JimHillMedia.com • Len Testa - IG: @len.testa | Website: touringplans.com • Chris Cox - IG: @magiccox | X: @bigcox | Website: magiccox.com FOLLOW • Facebook: JimHillMediaNews • Instagram: JimHillMedia • TikTok: JimHillMedia SUPPORT Support the show and access bonus episodes and additional content at Patreon.com/JimHillMedia. Len Testa and Jim Hill break down a busy week in theme park news, from Bluey crowd control at Animal Kingdom to Universal's possible drone-show ambitions. Len also crunches the numbers on the best days to visit Magic Kingdom, because nothing says vacation like 22 million wait times and a spreadsheet with emotional damage. Then Jim digs into Disneyland's opening-day ticket scandal and why Walt Disney may have had very good reasons to sour on Western Publishing. NEWS • Disney's Animal Kingdom prepares for Bluey with a virtual queue and some serious toddler-capacity math. • Len explains why Sundays may be your best Magic Kingdom bet from January through July, while party season flips the calendar. • Disneyland's Autopia goes electric in 2027, raising questions about batteries, car design, and Tomorrowland's long-overdue tune-up. • Universal Orlando surveys guests about pets, which may hint at Secret Life of Pets possibilities in Florida. • A new Universal patent features an onboard animated figure, possibly a frog, possibly a nightmare with wheels. FEATURE • Jim revisits Disneyland's chaotic 1955 opening day and the mysterious flood of “legitimate” invitations. • The story points toward Western Publishing, one of Disneyland's earliest investors and official printers. • Walt's later decision to buy out Western may have had more behind it than simple business strategy. • Also discussed: C.V. He’s a big fan of that, too. In this episode of Humans of Travel, Duckworth talks about all of the above and the launch of Travelmation, a thriving host agency with more than 2,700 travel advisors in its ranks today. Between graduation week, home renovations, audio issues, nonstop schedules, and Facebook accounts getting hacked — which also impacted parts of the Main Street Magic community — life has officially gotten VERY lifey around here. In this honest and unfiltered update, we share what's been going on behind the scenes, why we're temporarily pausing episodes, what happened with the Facebook hack, and what's next for Main Street Magic moving forward. We also talk about the importance of building community outside of social media, why we're asking everyone to join our email list at MainStMagic.com, and some exciting Disney plans we still have coming up including camping at Fort Wilderness, Hollywood & Vine, Muppets taking over Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, Big Thunder Mountain reopening, new food reviews, and more. Most importantly, this episode is a reminder that sometimes life piles up all at once — and sometimes you just have to take the “next play” and keep moving forward. Thank you all for the support, patience, messages, and kindness over the past few days. We appreciate this community more than you know.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is back at Magic Kingdom after a lengthy refurbishment, and Disney fans wasted no time flooding Frontierland for the reopening. They also dive into one of the week's biggest travel stories: the shutdown of Spirit Airlines and what Disney travelers can do to keep finding affordable flights in an increasingly expensive travel landscape. We're checking into a brand-new game of Disney Truth or Dare: Resort Edition—where the hot takes are strong, the choices are painful, and absolutely no Walt Disney World hotel is safe. After tackling the parks, it was time to turn our attention to the resorts—and things got surprisingly intense. From impossible monorail resort eliminations and brutally honest opinions about overrated hotels, to debates over the best lobby smell, transportation system, pool, and nighttime atmosphere, we put each other on the spot with random Truth or Dare questions pulled straight from the hats. The rules are simple: pick Truth or Dare, draw a random prompt, and answer honestly. No skipping, no changing your answer halfway through, and no hiding behind “well, it depends.” That means some strong opinions were shared… and some may upset even the most loyal Disney resort fans. Over the course of the episode, we each answered 10 randomly selected questions, and along the way, there were plenty of laughs, a few moments of genuine shock, and at least a couple answers that immediately sparked debate. Whether you're loyal to the monorail loop, obsessed with Crescent Lake, love the Skyliner resorts, or proudly defend Port Orleans French Quarter with your whole heart, this episode is packed with fun Disney resort discussions that every Walt Disney World fan can jump into. So grab your favorite lobby scent, settle into your favorite resort chair, and play along with us as Disney Truth or Dare heads to the hotels!
Happy Wednesday, everyone! Today Mike & Rikki are answering your listener questions! We get a great email from Listener Chris to start the show with lots of feedback on why he thought the Galactic Starcruiser didn't succeed at Walt Disney World, and had some solutions as to how this experience might be able to come back around in the future. We had a nice discussion around this topic as well! Then, we talked about smaller portions for meals at Walt Disney World (as well as quality of those meals), surprises for 11-year old boys at the Magic Kingdom, room requests at Caribbean Beach, and much more! This week on the Magic Our Way Podcast, we dive headfirst into the weird, wild, and wildly inappropriate side of Walt Disney World with "Bad Behavior on Disney Property – Liquid Edition." From a guest hopping off Kilimanjaro Safaris to use the bushes mid-ride… to an argument at Magic Kingdom turning physical over line-cutting at Tiana's Bayou Adventure… to an actual iced coffee attack on a guest in a wheelchair aboard a Disney ferry… this episode uncorks some of the strangest recent stories coming out of the parks. It's part true crime, part theme park therapy session, and part "what is wrong with people?" discussion — all with the usual Magic Our Way banter and laughs. Because apparently, some guests just can't keep it together in the Most Magical Place on Earth. Ask us any questions about what we have discussed. Civil discussions encouraged. We're diving deep into all the entertainment aboard the brand-new Disney Destiny — from Broadway-style stage spectaculars and immersive themed lounges to trivia, game shows, deck parties, live music, and everything in between. If you're wondering what's actually worth your time onboard, this is the episode for you. We break down Disney Cruise Line's newest entertainment offerings, including our full thoughts on Hercules, Frozen: A Musical Spectacular, and Seas the Adventure, discussing everything from the live vocals and special effects and emotional moments that make Disney cruise entertainment so unique. Beyond the theater, we explore the ship's bars and lounges including De Vil's Piano Lounge, the mysterious Sanctum Lounge, the Haunted Mansion Parlor, and the pirate-inspired Cask and Cannon. We talk atmosphere, theming, crowd vibe, hidden details, late-night energy, and even some of the surprisingly impressive zero-proof cocktail offerings onboard. Of course, Disney cruises are about more than stage shows and lounges, so we also cover Pirate Night, Sail Away celebrations, trivia, Match Your Mate, live music, character encounters, Funnel Vision movies, and all the little entertainment moments that help bring the ship to life throughout the sailing. And finally, we head ashore to Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point to discuss the beaches, food, entertainment, cultural influences, layout, and how it compares to Castaway Cay, and our thoughts may surprise you! Whether you're sailing on the Disney Destiny soon or just love hearing about all things Disney Cruise Line, this episode is packed with honest opinions, laughs, tips, and plenty of Disney magic.
Lauren and Eric dig into a question Disney fans have been quietly (and loudly) asking: is Disney finally starting to listen again? From ride reliability to cast member culture shifts and the return of meaningful passholder perks, the duo breaks down what's changed and what might just be clever business strategy.
