In SESSION ELEVEN of this new series, Wade discusses the need to figure out what needs to be cut out of our diet or practice (treason) and what can be managed (treats). Each person is different, but how can we be honest with ourselves and determine the best route with various challenges? Since losing a lot of weight over the past year, many have asked why he has been doing so and how he has been doing it. This series will talk about that, but also hopefully focus more broadly on the relationship between faith, fitness, and fellowship in formation. We hope you enjoy the series and this episode! Join Erik this week as he is joined by Sarah and Ryan as they discuss the family friendly rides they would add to DCA, the best unsung Marvel and Star Wars tie-ins in the parks, the Disney Parks treats they have never tried but have always be curious about, and the overlays that they would create for Disney rides. Support the podcast by going to https://www.thehubcrawl.com/support. Question 1: It's often discussed that DCA needs more rides that don't have a height restriction and appeal to a younger audience. What is a ride you'd add to DCA that would be enjoyable for the whole family? Let's imagine that space isn't an issue for the sake of this question. Question 2: Best unsung Marvel or Star Wars tie-in in the parks (e.g., music, background lore, clever props)? Tell the story behind it. Question 3: What Disney parks treat have you always wondered about but never tried? Why do you think that is? Question 4: If you could create your own overlay on a ride whether it is IP based or not, what would it be? Bonus Question: What would you like to thank Disney for?
“The thing that started it all off was me saying [the character Toxie] should be a guy in a suit. In other words, let's not do a computer-generated creature, let's have a person in a suit and have that handmade, hand-stitched kind of quality to it where you can sort of see the seams a little bit and have that be part of the fun. I also said let's have it be rated R. Hopefully y'all are not interested in a family-friendly PG-13 version of this movie, because that's not what the fans of the original are going to want, so let's keep it in the R-zone. And let's make sure it stays very silly. That silliness is what was so appealing to me about the original, and I just wanted to make sure that we weren't going to try and do something that was too self-serious,” says The Toxic Avenger writer/director Macon Blair about pitching Legendary Studios his version of how he would reimagine the classic black comedy splatter film for a modern audience while staying loyal to the fans of the 1984 version. On today's episode, we chat with writer/director/actor Macon Blair about his previous films like Blue Ruin and I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore, which won the Sundance Grand Jury award in 2017. His latest film is a reboot of The Toxic Avenger starring Peter Dinklage and Kevin Bacon, and is a whole lot of gory, gross-out fun. Blair talks about the need to dig into the over-the-top absurdity of the franchise while still making the modern version of the story feel authentic. “I'm always looking for something that I can connect to on a personal level. I don't mean autobiographical. I mean to be able to have that electrical current with what I'm typing out,” he says. Blair tells us about his on-going journey to finding his voice as a writer and what it was like waiting two years to get distribution for The Toxic Avenger. He also explains why he skewers a famous screenwriting trope in the film that involves a cat named Mr. Treats who was apparently quite the menace. To hear more insight, listen to the podcast.

In the gripping final installment of the Mike Drop Podcast with Chuck Hayes, a 40-year Navy SEAL veteran, we dive into the profound intersections of military discipline, spiritual awakening, and post-service purpose. Chuck reflects on the non-democratic nature of military life, the weight of command, and the responsibility to lead with trust and empathy. He shares a transformative near-death experience induced during a medical training course, revealing a cosmic perspective on life, death, and existence itself. From encounters with divine laughter to haunting dreams and past-life regressions, Chuck unravels his journey through the psychedelic medicine, shamanic visions, and hypnotherapy—that reshaped his understanding of reality, faith, and human suffering. Now, through his work with Soft Whisper, Chuck channels these experiences to help veterans and civilians alike heal from trauma, find purpose, and navigate the complexities of the human soul. This episode is a raw, mind-bending exploration of leadership, spirituality, and the eternal quest for meaning. In this episode, we confront a chilling reality: unvetted individuals crossing the U.S. border, instructed to destroy their documentation, leaving us clueless about who they are. Is this a calculated move? You bet it is. From fentanyl and meth labs to human and child sex trafficking, the collusion between Chinese organized crime and Mexican cartels is fueling a crisis that's spiraling out of control. Are these just drug operations, or is there a more sinister, operative component—perhaps tied to terrorism? John's seen it firsthand, from the grow houses poisoning our lands to the narco takeover of rural communities like Siskiyou County. We'll also touch on John's journey, from his faith-driven resilience to surviving over 20 life-threatening encounters in cartel grow operations. Plus, we'll explore the Second Amendment, the pitfalls of restrictive gun laws, and why self-reliance is more critical than ever in today's volatile world. Buckle up for a raw, unfiltered conversation that pulls no punches. Surviving 2.5 Hell Weeks and 6 BUD/S Attempts | Ep. 251 In this episode of the Mike Drop Podcast, John Collins delivers an unfiltered, brutally honest account of what it really takes to become a Navy SEAL—and what happens when the dream nearly dies. This isn't your typical war story. It's about failing hard, facing humiliation, and coming back swinging. Raised by a hard-charging state trooper in small-town Maryland, John always knew structure. What he didn't know was how far he'd have to go—how much he'd have to lose—before finally earning the Trident. From getting dropped at BUD/S to guarding terrorists in Guantanamo Bay, John's journey is a masterclass in grit, redemption, and what it means to serve with purpose even when the path doesn't go according to plan. Through multiple Hell Weeks, soul-crushing setbacks, and years of grinding through Navy politics, John fought like hell to get back into SEAL training. And he made it. But what happened after is just as powerful. From sniper to breacher to K9 handler, to a complete reinvention in civilian life—John proves that purpose doesn't end with a uniform. ---------- Heartland Steak Stock up with a custom steak box or grab a grill-ready bundle —either way, you're getting the best. Six Flags just canceled its Christmas and Halloween events at multiple parks—including Holiday in the Park at Great Adventure and Over Georgia, and Fright Fest at Six Flags America, which will now close permanently on Nov. 2. Michigan's Adventure also dropped its Tricks and Treats event and will end its season on Sept. 1. The company says it's “focusing on the core season,” but Philip and Scott aren't buying it.This week, the hosts break down what these cancellations mean for perceived value, season pass retention, and long-term brand equity—especially as Six Flags launches a new “Most Valuable Pass” offering access to all parks through 2026 for as little as $75. With year-round operations shrinking and aggressive discounting ramping up, is this a smart reset or a warning sign? And what happens when short-term savings override the emotional core of seasonal guest behavior? Listen to weekly BONUS episodes on our Patreon.
"You should sell these!"That's what Jeff Buckwalter said to his sister-in-law, Leigh Kellis, when he first took a bite of the potato-based donut she made in her home kitchen.Soon after, Leigh took his advice by opening The Holy Donut on Park Avenue in Portland, M.E., in 2012. A year later, after the Instagram-friendly potato donuts became a hit in the town, Kellis brought Jeff -- with nearly two decades of big business experience under his belt -- to turn The Holy Donut into a legitimate company. The Holy Donut has been featured in Bon Appetit magazine, The Boston Globe, and CNN, and has become a staple in Portland, considered by many to be the "foodiest city in America." They also ship their beloved donuts nationwide. From the West End of Portsmouth, The Holy Donut C.E.O. Jeff Buckwalter joins host Troy Farkas to discuss why he joined the family business in 2013, the mess he inherited when he came on board, how Portland became a foodie destination, and the surge in national press The Holy Donut received in the first half of the 2010s. Susie hasn't been this happy since we found out Luigi Mangioni's name thanks to the Coldplay cheaters on the kiss cam. We discuss how it's not the crime, but the cover-up once again that got them into trouble. We debate which concerts are cheater concerts, whether it's ok to make fun of people like them who go viral, and what we think will happen to them now. We talk about the Amy Bradley Is Missing documentary, the insanity of cruise "law" and security, and what we think happened to this woman who disappeared mysteriously from a cruise ship. Sarah explains why young people need more "little treats" than previous generations, and for once Susie defends younger generations. Plus, we hear about the Gilgo Beach Long Island serial killer's family, why they can't accept that he killed people despite the overwhelming evidence pointing to him.Brain Candy Podcast Website - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/Brain Candy Podcast Book Recommendations - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/books/Brain Candy Podcast Merchandise - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/candy-store/Brain Candy Podcast Candy Club - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/product/candy-club/Brain Candy Podcast Sponsor Codes - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/support-us/Brain Candy Podcast Social Media & Platforms:Brain Candy Podcast LIVE Interactive Trivia Nights - https://www.youtube.com/@BrainCandyPodcast/streamsBrain Candy Podcast Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastHost Susie Meister Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterHost Sarah Rice Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBrain Candy Podcast on X: https://www.x.com/braincandypodBrain Candy Podcast Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/braincandy (JOIN FREE - TONS OF REALITY TV CONTENT)Brain Candy Podcast Sponsors, partnerships, & Products that we love:Get $10 off your first month's subscription and free shipping when you go to https://nutrafol.com and enter the promo code BRAINCANDYThis episode is sponsored by BetterHelp. This week we sit down with David Packouz—former arms dealer, the real story behind War Dogs. He breaks down how he landed huge U.S. defense contracts in his twenties, what the movie nailed, what it didn't, and the parts Hollywood skipped. It's blunt talk about ambition, shortcuts, and fallout. Specifics, not fluff. After this, you won't see the film—or that industry—the same way. #sponsored Fareway Stock up with a custom steak box or grab a grill-ready bundle —either way, you're getting the best. Driven by curiosity, he conducted cutting-edge research on electricity, heat, ocean currents, weather patterns, chemical bonds, and plants. But today, Franklin is remembered more for his political prowess and diplomatic achievements than his scientific creativity. In this incisive and rich account of Benjamin Franklin's life and career, Richard Munson recovers this vital part of Franklin's story, reveals his modern relevance, and offers a compelling portrait of a shrewd experimenter, clever innovator, and visionary physicist whose fame opened doors to negotiate French support and funding for American independence. Munson's riveting narrative explores how science underpins Franklin's entire story―from tradesman to inventor to nation-founder―and argues that Franklin's political life cannot be understood without giving proper credit to his scientific accomplishments. 8 pages of illustrations
