Just Won a Natty/Indianapolis Vibes Starts at 0:51 No crying this time, but we do think we can have nice things now. You get out of it what you put into it; the UMHoops guys are probably experiencing the highest of highs. The 2023 football championship was a thing no other fanbase has experienced; this is what a normal natty feels like. Some of us survived the 2023-24 team. The story begins with the Ellerbe years, the Beilein era absolutely helped build this. Don't resent the Fab Five, but they unfairly had to represent what Michigan could be. Reconsidering the Juwan era, the heart condition, how badly he needed a GM. Beilein was spiritually (and literally) present for this team; loudest the stadium got before Michigan hit a three was when they showed him. Very unselfish team. Built through the portal—Cronin was never going to be a good fit for Mara, Rez wasn't going to have a role after Illinois got the other Ivisic, Cadeau was struggling in a bad system at UNC, Yaxel used the portal to get here from JUCO via UAB, Roddy Gayle was the national glue guy of the year, Nimari was here three years through two coaching changes, and Will Tschetter was a five-year player who took a smaller role: nobody can make a good faith argument that any of these guys don't belong here. [The rest of the writeup and the player after THE JUMP] 2. The UConn Game Starts at 27:50 Takes hotter than the rims during the final last night. Story of the game was UConn fouling the crap out of Michigan from literally the tip. Miss the first Cadeau and-one, then hit 24 free throws in a row to offset the terrible threes, until Roddy missed his pair. Snakebit shooting because Rez/Mara/Yax kept getting mismatches down low, but Michigan was able to play their bigs together, and that just made it impossible for UConn to score. Felt like Lendeborg was himself on defense; offensively he was obviously hobbled. Their communication was fantastic, and there weren't mismatches for UConn to hunt. A time or two they got Mara versus Karaban on the perimeter or something, but they didn't get backcut once. Tarris was basically shut down by Mara. Only thing they got were those ORebs, which were hat tips to them and also related to Michigan taking way the three. Next year Trey McKenney; graded on a curve he made 2 of Michigan's three jumpers, including the dagger. The Rube Goldberg three. Cadeau vs the Cadeau we thought we were getting. 3. How this Team Came Together Starts at 59:16 Revisiting how the roster came together, May's eye for talent, because every guy he got at FAU wound up a star somewhere. You can't actually build from the portal; if that's the lesson they're taking from this team they're going to get lit up. Cadeau cleaned up the TOs (but still commits them at the end of the game his banana peel). On the human to athlete personality spectrum, Mara is a normal human being, who never should have been paired with Cronin—all little guys who play basketball are born killers because you have to be, but it's common for bigs to be like that. Mara was the best player; he developed into a beast by the end of the year. Transfer teams: if you look at the rest of the top ten four didn't make the Tournament; Michigan was the only protected seed that took a lot of transfers. St. John's and Louisville were the others. Once you're been at a school a year you're not a transfer anymore. Cig vs May: Cignetti relied more on his JMU transfers. It's especially hard to recreate what Michigan did defensively, because at the end these guys won a title by doing the best job of anybody of playing with each other. Introducing the Bobby Hurley Index: How many photos do you look like Jim Carrey in The Mask? 4. Next Year Starts at 1:38:41 Are they looking at the portal list or the list of guys projected to the late 1st/early 2nd round? Mara and Rez are probably done—small chance they get Rez back. Cason going to redshirt. Gayle, Burnett, Yaxel are out of eligibility. Cadeau and McKinney: best backcourt in the country next year? McCoy is Charles Matthews-ish, going to be a major defensive presence; if you get two years out of him he's a big get but he doesn't have a deep shot, might be freshman Darius Morris or what we wanted Rubin Jones (PG who can guard 1-4) to be. Recruited lots of SFs: Grady? Liburd? Brown? All going to be 6'5" gumby-armed switchable guards. Backup PG: can McCoy or McKenney can play point for 10 mpg. Do they have a wing? Want that guy to be switchable; Seth thinks they're going to have a big war chest to find an NBA four who can play the three in addition to two bigs. Goodman will be next year's Tschetter. Need three portal bigs. Is Dusty May the #1 coach you would want to have if you were looking for one right now? UNC search was Tommy Lloyd and Dusty May right? Mets Fans Ready to Panic and Complain. Fab Five Saturday and Tiger Updates
Another year, another abysmal performance by ol’ SwampSwami in the CBS Sports March Madness predictions. Though I played high school basketball, I remain “O-for-Life” at predicting the men’s March Madness champion. My chances for victory crashed last Thursday after the University of Houston lost to Illinois in the Sweet Sixteen round. The same failed outcome happened for my pick (LSU) in the women’s bracket. Kim Mulkey’s Tigers lost to Duke on a last second 3-pointer in the Sweet 16 to sink my battleship in that competition. CBSSports.com showed my men’s picks currently ranked a pitiful 1,138,732 (which must be somewhere near the bottom). My women’s selections have been slightly less embarrassing, but I am still ranked at a microscopic 477,876th overall. Go ahead and laugh. I’m used to it. Since my personal top selections are now vaporized, let’s take a closer look at the upcoming weekend of March Madness games. But first… I wanted to take a moment to agree with legendary UConn women’s basketball coach Geno Auriemma about some issues which he expressed concern about last week. Beginning in 2023, the NCAA found a way to screw-up the women’s second weekend of Sweet 16 and Elite 8 games. In the second weekend of men’s play, there are four regionals (East, South, Midwest, and West). Each region features four teams. By contrast, the women’s second weekend featured just two regions with eight teams assigned to each site to play the Sweet 16 and Elite 8 games. Why did the NCAA do that to the women’s tournament? (Hint – $$$) Connecticut women’s basketball coach Geno Auriemma rightfully complained about logistics issues created by lumping eight teams together. His team was one of the eight assigned to “Region 1” in Fort Worth, Texas. The other eight teams in “Region 2” played in Sacramento, California. In both cases, the city’s arena is needed to host two tournament games per day. That leaves the eight participating teams with odd practice times and inconsistent media times for the players and coaches. Some practices were conducted at the crack of dawn. Others happened in evening hours after the second game of the day concluded. Coach Geno Auriemma told the assembled press last week, “You know what time our shoot-around was yesterday? 6:20 AM for just half an hour. Does anybody who makes these decisions ever ask the coaches and the players?” The UConn coach then rolled off the poor 3-point shooting statistics for every team participating in last week’s 8-team Fort Worth regional. He added, “They bring in new baskets and new basketballs right out of the box. We’ve got people dribbling the ball off their feet, missing layups all over the place! How many arenas are we going to sell out with that BS!” He was blunt and made several valid points. The eight teams in each of the two women’s regions had very little time to get familiar with the arena surroundings prior to playing in last Friday and Saturday’s games. The only plausible reason for doing this is a cost savings decision by the NCAA. It is cheaper to lease two arenas than four like the men are utilizing during the tournament’s second weekend. The television production costs for ESPN are also lower with only two sites to broadcast from. It’s doubtful that the NCAA home office in Indianapolis gave much (if any) thought to the logistical difficulties caused by bringing eight teams together to play over two days in the same facility. One report indicated that the NCAA will keep this format for another two years. Good grief. How cheap can you get? Now that we have that out of the way. Let’s review the women’s Final Four! This year’s women’s semifinal and final games are being played in Phoenix. The same four finalists from last year (UConn, South Carolina, Texas, and UCLA) will return and try to win the title currently held by Connecticut. This elite quartet won an incredible 95% of their games this season with a combined record of 143-7. Semifinal #1 – 6PM CDT Friday on ESPN – Connecticut (38-0) vs. South Carolina (35-3) Get your popcorn ready for this epic battle! This is the women’s basketball version of pitting King Kong vs. Godzilla. These two teams have captured three of the last four national titles. UConn defeated South Carolina 82-59 in last year’s championship game, so the Gamecocks want payback. Carolina has five players averaging in double figures led by All-American forward Joyce Edwards. She scores nearly 20 points per game. Connecticut counters with two of the best players in the country. Forward Sarah Strong and guard Azzi Fudd are responsible for nearly 40 points per game this season for the Huskies. Semifinal #2 – 8:30PM CDT Friday on ESPN – Texas (35-3) vs. UCLA (35-1) Texas features ten players getting more than ten minutes of playing time every game. Forward Madison Booker leads the Longhorns with 19.3 points per game. UCLA’s veteran roster is led by center Lauren Betts (17 points per game) and elusive guard Kiki Rice (15 points ppg). Texas handed the Bruins their only loss of the season in a 76-65 win in late November. UCLA has won 25 straight games since that defeat and will be seeking revenge on Friday night. Men’s Final Four – Scouting report Unlike the four #1 seeds in the women’s Final Four, West region #1 Arizona and Midwest #1 Michigan are the only top seeds remaining in this weekend’s Final Four for the guys in Indianapolis. Arizona’s last national title came in 1997, while Michigan’s “Fab Five” won the last title for Big Blue in 1989. This Saturday evening’s nightcap between the Wildcats and Wolverines insures that there will be one top seeded team playing in Monday night’s championship game. Fans of the East #1 seed Duke Blue Devils are still in shock this week. Duke surrendered a 19-point lead in a 73-72 loss at the buzzer to #2 seed Connecticut on Sunday afternoon. That other #1 seed was defending champion Florida. The South top seed lost in the second round to #9 Iowa by that same 73-72 score. The UConn Huskies are riding a lot of momentum as they now seek their third national championship in the past four seasons. Quietly, #3 seed Illinois has not advanced this far in the tournament since 2005 when they lost to North Carolina in the championship game. This season’s Fighting Illini basketball team is on a quest to bring home the school’s first men’s basketball title. Saturday afternoon’s Men’s Final Four match-ups Semifinal #1 – 5PM – TBS – South #3 seed Illinois (28-8) vs. East #2 Connecticut (33-5) The Fighting Illini had lost three of its last five games heading into the NCAA March Madness tournament. Coach Brad Underwood’s team has tightened-up its defense during the tournament and has allowed less than 60 points per game. Illinois rings-up 84 points per game on offense with five double digit scorers in the starting line-up. UConn has been led all season by the inspired play of senior center Taris Reed. He leads the team with 15 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 blocked shots per game. The Huskies proved their never-say-die mettle during Sunday’s 19-point comeback against #1 Duke. This team will hang tough until the final buzzer. Semifinal #2 – 7:45PM – TBS – Midwest #1 Michigan (35-3) vs. West #1 Arizona (36-2) Michigan won the Big Ten regular season title and was a perfect 11-0 on the road. Coach Dusty May’s Wolverines have scored 90 or more points in all four March Madness tournament games this year. Michigan features three players who have played at the center position in college. Getting a rebound has not been a problem for Big Blue this season. Likewise, Big 12 champion Arizona has dominated teams by scoring from within the paint. The Wildcats’ outside shooting, though, has been suspect at times. Arizona was ranked #363 in the nation in three point shot attempts primarily because the team’s interior offense has been so effective all season. Enjoy the games! The post Finally! The Final Fours! appeared first on SwampSwamiSports.com.

Is High-Bandwidth Flash (HBF) a direct competitor to HBM, or something entirely new? In this episode, we break down the technology of High-Bandwidth Flash (HBF) and its role in solving the "memory wall" for AI inference. We explore how HBF fits into the existing memory hierarchy—sitting between HBM and traditional NAND flash—to provide high capacity and increased speed for the next generation of AI data centers. We also discuss the technical side of the SanDisk and Kioxia partnership, including BiCS technology and CBA wafer bonding, and when investors can expect this technology to actually hit the bottom line.Join us on Discord with Semiconductor Insider, sign up on our website: www.chipstockinvestor.com/membershipSupercharge your analysis with AI! Onto Innovation is a critical "choke point" in the semiconductor supply chain, providing the essential metrology and inspection gear that makes advanced packaging and high-bandwidth memory (HBM) possible. In this deep dive, we break down why their flagship Dragonfly system is a winner in the AI era and how the company is successfully pivoting growth toward Taiwan and South Korea to offset shifts in China. We also take a close look at Onto's rivalry with industry giant KLA Corp and how their recent Semi Lab acquisition is already fueling a massive ramp-up in 2026 revenue. With free cash flow per share exploding over the last five years, we're explaining why this mid-cap power player has earned its spot as a core long-term holding in our portfolio.Join us on Discord with Semiconductor Insider, sign up on our website: www.chipstockinvestor.com/membershipSupercharge your analysis with AI! *VIDEO ON PATREON* Ben here. Angel and Jesus join me today to give Queer Eye the send-off it deserves. We review the Fab Five individually, discussing their defects—killing their cats, smoking tina, having catastrophic taste—and their assets, being sexy (Antoni, Karamo, Tan), being so annoying it almost loops back around to charming, and again, smoking tina. Then we recap Episode 3 of Season 10, which may feature the most resistant “hero” the show has ever found: an extremely traumatized single mother of two who appears to hate the experience almost as much as we did. Can the Queer Eyes fix her? Do they even want to? Why does Karamo take her to a creek to confront her about her attitude? And does she want to have sex with Jeremiah? We investigate. Plus, Angel and Jesus attempt to fix my attitude and personal style, and Angel explains why Antoni is secretly straight.
This week, Patrick and Ryan step into their executive producer era and create their Fab Five lists of live-action movies that Disney needs to make immediately. Send a textWhat does it really take to build a profitable business while raising a family—and still like your life? Jennifer joins us with a story that starts in a delivery room and a bakery build-out and grows into a 20-year company she eventually sold. We pull back the curtain on the nine pillars she now uses to help women prioritize profit, protect their time, and grow a business that can thrive without burning them out.We get practical fast: how to price with data instead of emotion, track time to uncover hidden labor, and guard your gross margins so there's money left for subscriptions, overhead, and your paycheck. Jennifer explains why simplifying offers can unlock growth—like trimming 72 SKUs down to 16—and how a focused niche turns you from forgettable to top-of-mind. You'll hear the difference between selling “cookies” and selling “gifts,” and how a photographer quadrupled revenue by choosing real estate over everything else.Community becomes a strategy, not a nice-to-have. Jennifer lays out the Fab Five advisory circle—an industry peer, a seasoned mentor, an operator outside your field, a younger spark, and a trusted confidant—so you have wisdom, innovation, and emotional safety on speed dial. On the sales front, we reframe follow-up as care, not pressure, with simple email cadences, value-first touch points, and even handwritten notes that cut through the noise. Along the way we talk boundaries, presence at home, and getting kids involved so the lessons of grit and service become a family legacy. If you're a mom founder aiming for profit, simplicity, and staying power, this conversation hands you a blueprint: niche clearly, price bravely, follow up consistently, and let your community lift you. Send us a textThe cart says more about us than the receipt. We pulled together our Fab Five to map the real world of shopping right now: where we go, what actually feels good, and why some stores become habits you can't quit. From Dollar General's convenience to Dollar Tree's unbeatable card aisle, we compare the dollar store trifecta with honest logic you can use on your next errand run. Then we zoom out: one grocery store we trust, the best place to buy a new TV, and the unexpectedly strategic role of store layout in what lands in your cart. Parents will relate as we break down the “Mario on hard mode” that is shopping with kids—plus how free samples, coffee stops, and smart aisles can turn chaos into calm. We also settle a modern classic: Target's clean consistency versus Walmart's raw, late‑night energy, and how both win for different reasons.Memberships matter too. Where Costco exists, loyalty follows; where it doesn't, Sam's Club delivers with selection, outdoor gear, and those clutch samples. We talk gift cards without the guilt—when they're thoughtful, when they're lazy, and how to make them land well. Finally, we rebuild the struggling mall with experiences people will actually leave the house for: a fitness anchor, a proper movie theater, hotel‑event spaces, Dave and Busters, jump parks, even a destination sneaker spot. The theme is clear—design for daily life and shared moments, and the shopping comes naturally. If you're navigating online vs in‑store, raising little cart captains, or dreaming up a better mall, this one's for you. Listen, subscribe, and leave a quick review to tell us your dollar store ranking and your must‑have mall pick—we'll feature the best takes next week.Subscribe for exclusive content: https://www.buzzsprout.com/1530455/support Buzzsprout - Let's get your podcast launched!Start for FREETactical BrotherhoodThe Tactical Brotherhood is a movement to support America.Dubby EnergyFROM GAMERS TO GYM JUNKIES TO ENTREPRENEURS, OUR PRODUCT IS FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS TO BE BETTER.ShankitgolfOur goal here at Shankitgolf is for everyone to have a great time on and off the golf courseSweet Hands SportsElevate your game with Sweet Hands Sports! Hello Friends! After an extended break away from the Fab Five, we return to The Hollies on Mixology with a look at their 1966 album, 'Would You Believe?'. Their first issued in stereo in the UK (almost at the same time), this LP has always had a very curious mix situation, with the stereo being somewhat inventive with it's panning, and the mono being quite muddy for the most part. With this in mind, I dived into this episode hoping to break down why this is, and let me tell you that the answer was somewhat unexpected, but also somewhat creative - if expedient. With a major discovery on our hands here, this episode only further complicates the mono vs stereo debate when it comes to this material, so don't have a Hard Hard Year, let's dig in! Happy Listening, Frederick
