On today's episode, Jason reacts to Florida's wild comeback win over Houston in the National Championship Game and explains why this tournament should be seen as one of the best Final Fours ever. Jason gives his thoughts on Houston's gaffe of a final play and compares and contrasts it to Chris Webber's infamous Fab Five timeout. Send us a textDive into a sweet escape with our special guest host Fiddy and "The Fab Five" as they unwrap their deepest dessert opinions and share hidden bakery gems you won't want to miss. This episode is a sugar-coated journey through the world of treats that will have you reaching for your car keys to hunt down local pastry treasures. Our guests reveal surprising consensus on some topics (ice cream beats cookies every time) while passionately disagreeing on others. When it comes to bakeries worth visiting, we uncover spectacular recommendations spanning from Corbo's in Cleveland to Jimmy's in Liberty and Oakmont Bakery in Pittsburgh—each promising authentic Italian pastries that would make any nonna proud. The conversation turns hilariously unified when black licorice enters the chat. Every single guest expresses profound distaste for this controversial candy, with descriptions ranging from "if death had a taste" to comparisons we can't repeat in polite company. But it's not all criticism—our guests enthusiastically share their favorite candies, from Heath Bars to Reese's Fast Break to the nostalgic appeal of candy corn pumpkins. As the discussion moves through morning coffee habits, birthday cake preferences, and even a tour of Hershey, Pennsylvania, you'll discover how dessert choices reveal personality traits and generational perspectives. The show wraps with a heated debate about pie superiority, with surprising contenders for both best (cherry, key lime) and most overrated (pumpkin, apple).Whether you're planning your next road trip around bakery stops or simply looking to settle a dessert debate with friends, this episode delivers the perfect blend of recommendations, memories, and passionate opinions about the sweeter things in life. FAN MAIL--We would love YOUR feedback--Send us a Text MessageA perfect shot, a miracle pass, and 2.1 seconds that forever altered basketball history. When Christian Laettner caught Grant Hill's 80-foot inbound pass, took one dribble, faked, and released his iconic buzzer-beater to give Duke a 104-103 overtime victory against Kentucky in the 1992 NCAA East Regional Final, he created what many still consider "The Last Great Game." Our book of the day, The Last Great Game: Duke vs. Kentucky and the 2.1 Seconds That Changed Basketball by Gene Wojciechowski captured the memories of this iconic duel. This epic contest represented far more than an Elite Eight thriller. For Duke and Coach Mike Krzyzewski, it was the crucial step toward their second consecutive national championship—something no program had accomplished since UCLA's dynasty. With future NBA stars Laettner, Hill, and Bobby Hurley, Duke embodied excellence and championship DNA.For Kentucky, the moment carried profound emotional weight. Just three years earlier, the storied program faced potential shutdown amid NCAA sanctions and a damning Sports Illustrated cover story dubbed "Kentucky's Shame." Coach Rick Pitino rebuilt the program with four players who stayed loyal through the darkest period—Pelfrey, Feldhaus, Farmer, and Woods. In the tearful aftermath, Pitino reminded his heartbroken team that restoring Kentucky's reputation mattered more than any Final Four appearance, brandishing that same magazine cover as a symbol of how far they'd come. While subsequent NCAA tournaments have delivered unforgettable moments—Villanova's 2016 championship buzzer-beater, Gordon Hayward's near-miracle in 2010, and Gonzaga's overtime thriller against UCLA in 2021—none have quite captured the perfect storm of circumstances that made the 1992 Duke-Kentucky game basketball's gold standard for drama, execution, and storytelling. As we experience each new March Madness, we're all secretly hoping to witness another contest that might finally surpass what remains, three decades later, truly the last great game.Key Points from the Episode:• The game represented both programs at critical points – Duke establishing dynasty status under Coach K while Kentucky was rebuilding from NCAA sanctions• Rick Pitino had transformed Kentucky from "Kentucky's Shame" (Sports Illustrated cover) to prideful contenders in just three years• Four Kentucky players (Pelfrey, Feldhaus, Farmer, Woods) stayed loyal through the program's sanctions and darkest period• Duke went on to win the 1992 championship against Michigan's Fab Five, securing back-to-back titles• We explore other "great games" since 1992 including Villanova-UNC (2016), Kansas-Memphis (2008), Duke-Butler (2010), and Gonzaga-UCLA (2021)• The 1992 contest maintains its reputation through perfect combination of drama, stakes, program narratives, and executionKeep fighting the good fight and enjoy the madness of March!Other resources: Want to leave a review? This week we welcome back a treasured friend of this show, renowned design guru and the heartbeat of the Fab Five, Bobby Berk! It's been four years since we last talked to Bobby so we have a lot of ground to cover in this episode. Bobby tells us about the designers like Michael Graves and Isaac Mizrahi who he drew inspiration from early in his career. He tells stories about his humble beginnings with retail gigs at stores like Bed Bath & Beyond and Restoration Hardware – maybe part of what makes him so relatable? – and how his career as a designer blossomed from there. And with the holidays upon us, we also take the opportunity to ask Bobby about how he celebrates (or survives) the holidays. He offers some great insights on instituting some personal boundaries to maintain sanity that are not too late to put into rotation this year. *** Thought-provoking Quotes: “At my grandparents' A-frame cabin in Colorado, every square inch was red, and I mean R-E-D shag carpet and it looked like a whole gaggle of muppets laying on the ground….and I think I liked it. I remember laying on the ground threading my fingers through the carpet.” – Jen Hatmaker “I loved going to my friends houses where it was just cool and calm and nothing to look at. But honestly that's not what I'm drawn to anyway. My house looks like a rainbow exploded. I have a kelly green velvet couch, a gallery wall that has every single color. I've got some bat shit wallpaper going on. I've decorated it like I've never seen the color gray.” – Amy Hardin “I'm drawn to spaces that have life in them, I like color – I like it when a room is even outrageous. Whether or not I would exactly do that thing, I think, ‘I like where your head is at'”. – Jen Hatmaker “You're the CEO of your own instincts and design and if you love it, it's going to work.” – Bobby Berk Resources Mentioned in This Episode: Queer Eye for the Straight Guy - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queer_Eye_(2003_TV_series) Queer Eye - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queer_Eye_(2018_TV_series) Queer Eye on Netflix - https://www.netflix.com/title/80160037 Series 26: Episode 02: Queer Eye's Bobby Berk on the Fire Inside Us All - https://jenhatmaker.com/podcasts/series-26/queer-eyes-bobby-berk-and-the-fire-inside-us-all/ BobbyBerk.com - https://bobbyberk.com/ Right at Home: How Good Design Is Good for the Mind: An Interior Design Book by Bobby Berk - https://amzn.to/3A7TjXT When Jen met Bobby in Mexico - https://www.instagram.com/p/B5HMYkUASvc/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== Tripointe Homes Style Finder Quiz - https://bobby-berk.tripointehomes.com/style-finder/ Michael Graves - https://michaelgraves.com/ Michael Graves Target Collaboration - https://michaelgraves.com/product/target-products/ Isaac Mizrahi Target Collaboration - https://www.target.com/b/isaac-mizrahi/-/N-s73qo Jen's master bathroom remodel - https://www.instagram.com/p/DB38zmHOrYU/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== Bobby at the 76th Emmy's - https://www.instagram.com/p/C__NYm2yz8G/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== RuPaul's Drag Race - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1353056/ Celebrity Holiday Homes on HGTV - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1519269/ Guest's Links: Bobby's website - https://bobbyberk.com/ Bobby's Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/bobby/ Bobby's Twitter - https://x.com/bobbyberk Bobby's Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/BobbyBerkOfficial Bobby's TikTok - https://www.tiktok.com/@bobby Bobby's Pinterest - https://www.pinterest.com/bobbyberk/ Connect with Jen!
