Eestis testitakse taas üle 20 aasta digiraadio ehk DAB kasutusele võtmist. Mis asi see DAB õigupoolest on ja miks see traditsioonilisest FM raadiost parem on?

Ik pa laikam varam uzzināt, ka kosmosā palaists kāds satelīts vai cita veida izpētes rīks, un dažkārt mūs pārsteidz kādi uz Zemes nokrituši kosmosa atkritumi. Līdzās tam, ka kosmosa pētniecības instrumenti veic kādu svarīgu uzdevumu, ne mazāk būtiski ir tas, kā tie vispār spēj sevi apgādāt ar enerģiju, cik ilgi tie var darboties un kā šajā jomā attīstās tehnoloģijas, lai tas, ko palaižam prom no Zemes, izplatījumā savu uzdevumu veiktu pēc iespējas ilgāk un labāk. Kā darbojas jaudīto raķešu dzinēji, kā tos apgādā ar enerģiju un kādi risinājumi varētu būt nākotnē, raidījumā Zināmais nezināmajā skaidro Tartu universitātes asociētais profesors Andris Slavinskis, uzņēmuma "Deep Space Energy" dibinātājs un vadītājs Mihails Ščepanskis un Tartu universitātes doktorants, Parīzes observatorijas pētniecības inženieris un satelīta "ESTCube-2" sistēmu inženieris Jānis Dalbiņš. Vispirms iepazīstam inovatīvas granulas ūdens attīrīšanai Rīgas Tehniskajā universitātē no plaši pieejamiem vietējiem materiāliem tapušas granulas ūdens attīrīšanai, tās varētu kalpot ūdens attīrīšanai no smagajiem metāliem. Granulu ūdens attīrīšanai nozīmi skaidro Rīgas Tehniskās universitātes Vispārīgās ķīmijas tehnoloģijas institūta pētniece Inga Jurgelāne. Neskatoties uz to, ka granulas noderētu ūdens attīrīšanai no smagajiem metāliem, piemēram, svina, Latvijā problēmu ar svina klātbūtni notekūdeņos nav. Protams, tas var parādīties svina cauruļu izmantošanas gadījumā, jo ir mājas, kuru kanalizācijas sistēmas caurules satur svinu, un tas laika gaitā var iekļūt ūdens sistēmā. Bet jebkurā gadījumā šī problēma Latvijā nav izteikta, un ideja šādam pētījumam par granulām vairāk attiecināma uz globālo situāciju. Pētniece skaidro, ka citviet pasaulē svins notekūdeņos patiešām ir sastopams vietās, kur notiek ķīmiskā rūpniecība, akumulatoru ražošana un pārstrāde, kā arī dabīgo minerālu apstrāde, lai iegūtu konkrētus metālus.

Jätkame nädal tagasi alustatud juttu Eesti tudengisatelliidi projekti juhendaja, Tartu Ülikooli dotsendi Mart Noormaga, kellelt on ajakirja Horisont mainumbris ilmunud „Eesti satelliidi lood“ ja kellega on samas numbris Ulvar Käärti usutlus „Innovaatorite põlvkonna kasvataja“. Ajakiri Horisont täitis suure osa oma mainumbri külgedest julgelt kosmosematerjalidega, ehkki lugude toimetamise ja ammugi mitte kirjutamise aegu polnud sugugi selge, millal ja kui edukalt saadetakse ilmaruumi Eesti esimene satelliit ESTCube-1. Ajame kahes saates juttu tudengisatelliidi projekti juhendaja Mart Noormaga, kes on kirja pannud „Eesti satelliidi lood“ ja kellega on samas numbris Ulvar Käärti usutlus „Innovaatorite põlvkonna kasvataja“.
