Jonas Unger is best known for his incredible portraits of Oscar winner Julianne Moore, Joaquin Phoenix, Susan Sarandon, Amy Adams and Paul Pogba among others. Coveted by the fashion and celebrity world alike Jonas has gathered fans in all domains. His work has been featured in the French and American Vogue, Le Monde and for campaigns including Hermes, Chanel, Tod's, Tom Ford, Chloé among others. He is also known for his quest for solitude amongst the noise and fanfare of celebrity photography, of treating celebrities as human demystifying the celebrity myth, detaching them from all of the celebrity bubble, which as you can imagine, is not easy. Jonas talks about his journey to 40 and, how, despite having all of these skills and all of these talents and getting amazing work he talks about not being in alignment with his inner self. How he turned his back on the commercial world for awhile. If there's one thing you should take away from here, its the quest for solitude!Jonas mentions Helmut Lang's philosophy on different work for each age. https://www.nytimes.com/2005/05/26/fashion/thursdaystyles/decline-and-fall-of-helmut-lang.htmlFollow Jonas on instagram @https://www.instagram.com/jonasungerMore about Jonas below---If you aren't part of the This is 40 Community come join us. Even today, his closeness to the water during his childhood manifests itself in a pronounced passion for the coast and the sea.At the age of 13, Jonas and his grandfather, a professor of theology from Heidelberg, set off on a study trip through the then still existing Eastern Bloc - by car through Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Hungary and Romania to Greece.Jonas likes to capture the many impressions and starts experimenting with his grandfather's camera and capturing the people and their stories. A passion that has not let him go until today. After finishing his studies, he moved to Paris to concentrate on photography and to understand it better. After a while Jonas begins to take photographs for M Le Monde, Zeit Magazin and SZ Magazin, among others. A LEAD Award follows, finally the golden nail of the ADC in 2011 for his Gérard Depardieu reportage for Zeit Magazin. For Jonas, photography means above all communication: the basis from which every story, every idea develops, is always the portrait, the encounter and confrontation with people, always the story to be told. Jonas transfers this approach to all formats, whether travel, documentation, product or fashion - at the beginning there is always a story told around the object to be photographed.Today, he photographs for the most prestigious magazines and exclusive customers in the world and has had the most diverse personalities in front of his camera, from Amy Adams and Julianne Moore to Christoph Waltz, Virgil Abloh, Joaquin Phoenix, Ryan Gosling and Paul Pogba..Customer list editorial: M Le Monde, Vogue France, Vogue US, Zeit Magazin, Wall Street Journal Magazine, Self Service, Purple Magazine, Vogue Dutch, Vogue Me, Interview US, Another Magazine, etc.Hermes, Chanel, Tod's, Tom Ford, Chloé, Birkenstock, Arket, Ermenegildo Zegna, Etc.

Space Force gets a nomination from Steve who appreciates this brand-new sitcom's quality cast, sumptuous visuals and crafted scripts. But is it funny? And can its ninth episode 'It's Good to be Back on the Moon' get into the Hall of Fame? Let's see if Malkovitch, Carrell and crew have the right stuff. It's Gary's birthday month! To celebrate, this month our theme is... Gary! Well, specifically, the entire month of August is going to consist of movies that Gary has picked himself. Justin had no say in any of 'em! What movies has Gary always wanted to talk about the podcast in the nearly three years we've been doing this, but we've never gotten around to? Well, this month, you're gonna find out! And to kick things off, we're talking about a movie that's not only from the year of Gary's birth, but one directed by his favorite director, John Carpenter. This week, we're discussing 1981's ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK! We're joined by our old pal Todd A. Davis (writer/comedian) to discuss this seminal film in Carpenter's career. As we always, we'll delve into the film's origins (Richard Nixon is involved!) and discuss its ongoing legacy as a cult film. And how could we not nominate this one for the Psychotronic Hall of Fame? Let us know if you think it deserves to go in! VOTE: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/8KZSD3Q We'd love to hear your thoughts on this episode! Steve nominates a 1970s hidden gem from the UK called 'I Didn't Know You Cared' and it's anti-adventures from the Brandon family's life in South Yorkshire. Will this bleak-ish comedy win over Jeffers and make it into the Hall of Fame? Let's see if Carter and his elders (created by Peter Tinniswood) have what it takes! After a brief "catch-up-on-CAGE" (including marriage, divorce and a bizarre karaoke clip), the CAGEFIGHTERS dive HEADFIRST into the FINAL review of the season -- The Boy in Blue (1986), a ROCKY clone chronicling the career of Canadian sculler/rower/tribal scalper Ned Hanlan set in the late 1800s. We discuss how ST. NIC tackles this role with verve & alcoholism, uninspired rowing, clothing sex, and ultimately getting cage-fished. Finally, we discuss our expectations for the upcoming FIVE FILM FACE/OFF FINALE (or simply... Cage Fight). Which legendary movie do you think will enter our SEASON 1 CAGE of FAME? Let us know or go ahead and BUGGER OFF!
Our Time Travel series continues this week with one of the most popular time travel films of all time, and one that started one of the biggest film franchises in the world, James Cameron's THE TERMINATOR! This is the film that birthed Gary's hangups with time travel films in general. Has he softened on it or is he standing his ground? As usual, we'll discuss the origins of the project, from Cameron's early days as a set painter for Roger Corman to the creation of the film itself and how it catapulted its star into the Hollywood A-list! We also get into the film's legacy, the huge media franchise that it spawned, and how it effected the face of sci-fi cinema! And all of this leads into that one big question: Is THE TERMINATOR good enough for the Psychotronic Hall of Fame? Let us know by voting in this week's poll! Welcome to the Stuga! In this episode, we primarily discuss the teaser trailer for the upcoming "Lion King," live action remake. Live action? CGI? Roger Raglin is an outdoor television pioneer and he has been entertaining us with his deer hunting videos for over 30 years. We don't see him slowing down any time soon as he continues to create and edit his own work. Sure, maybe his perspectives on hunting and society have changed, but his drive is still alive. Many people would not typically associate hunting with higher education (at least the liberals don't), but as we've learned there's more way more to Roger than hunting videos and television. Roger is an accomplished pianist and musician and is well known for his gospel collections in Oklahoma and often played along side Pentecostal preacher turned comedian, Sam Kinison. Roger also spent many years as an academic where he pursued a PhD at Duke University and has many degrees to his name. Despite Roger's passion for learning, his real love is with hunting and the outdoors. Roger was inducted into the 2011 class of the National Outdoor Hall of Fame and he is one fantastic story teller.
