Are you hiding from your calling? Yvette Taylor spent years on the periphery of her purpose, building a wellness center and doing online marketing for spiritual entrepreneurs. But when she gave birth to her son, she had a conversation with the universe and said, ‘I am no longer prepared to do anything in my life that isn't what I'm here for. And if my time is away from this little guy, it has to be the thing I'm here for because I'm not available for anything else.' Yvette is the creator of the Energy Alignment Method or EAM, an internationally-recognized complementary therapy designed to help people shift their energy and transform their life experience. An award-winning transformational spiritual and business coach and bestselling author, Yvette has 20 years of experience in the self-development space, and she has trained over 100 mentors to share EAM with 50,000-plus people all over the world. On this episode of Wickedly Smart Women, Yvette joins Anjel to explain why she initially hid from her calling to bring EAM to the world, describing how she was immersed in energy work but wasn't fully living it. She shares her decision to pursue her purpose once her son was born, discussing how she gave birth to the Energy Alignment Method at about the same time and what she's doing to bring EAM to the world. Listen in for Yvette's insight on taking the pressure off money to perform for you and learn to stop hiding and step into YOUR purpose!  What You Will Learn  How Yvette hid from her calling to bring EAM to the world The traumatic childhood experience that inspired Yvette's self-development journey How Yvette was immersed in energy work but wasn't fully living it How Yvette gave birth to her son and EAM in the same time frame Yvette's decision to pursue her purpose (and how the universe made her available to do just that) Yvette's process for training others to be EAM practitioners How EAM mentors create the capacity for change through their presence Yvette's personal journey around money and vibration How taking the pressure of money to perform for you heals your relationship with it Connect with Yvette Taylor Energy Alignment Method The 5 Steps of EAM + Training Video Series Resources National Publicity Summit EFT International Master Trainer Program Connect with Anjel B. Balancing any kind of personal life outside your demanding career in post-production is difficult, but when that personal life includes children, it can feel nearly impossible. Having two young kids myself (a 6 year old son and a 4 year old daughter), I know how impossible it can seem to be present as a parent while being equally focused on your job for 12+ hours every day. But there are ways to find balance and be successful with both. In this episode I have a conversation with award-nominated editor Yvette Amirian about how she became a successful television editor very quickly in her young career, but more importantly how she is balancing a demanding job, teaching several editing courses at USC, as well as raising her 5-year old son. Sponsors: CineMoti Topics of conversation: Yvette’s background as an editor and producer The role of and editor in unscripted television How Yvette made the transition into producing The reality TV workflow Yvette’s career trajectory and how she moved up the ladder so quickly Tips on how to successfully move from assistant editor to editor A few things Yvette learned in her first few years as a parent Sharing the caretaking duties with family and how to get some quality time in with your child How your perspective and priorities change when you have a child The difficulties of missing time with your child and how to make up for it Balancing work and parenting The importance of putting your foot down  Coping with the guilt of missing out on your child’s milestones How being a woman with a child has affected Yvette’s career prospects (and how society judges that) How Yvette’s career aspirations changed (or didn’t) since having a child When your career is your identity, how do you take on another? Struggling to balance career and children is something we all deal with! I recently read an article on Gakwer called . It was written by today's podcast guest: Yvette d'Entremont. Yvette, AKA "The Science Babe", has bachelor's degrees in theatre and chemistry along with a master's degree in forensic science. With a background working as an analytical chemist, she currently runs the full time. Her site is an interesting mix of debunking pseudoscience with humor and science. She lives in southern California with her stinky dog, Buddy (who makes a fun cameo in today's podcast).  During our controversial discussion, you'll discover: -Why Yvette thinks that chiropractic treatment is total BS... -Why Yvette, in her post on the "", calls Dave Asprey a Douchebag... -How Yvette thinks that the Food Babe's  was blown way out of proportion... -What Yvette thinks is the next most unproven, hyped up, dangerous or scientifically inaccurate trend or fad currently making it's way down the health pipeline... -Why living by the rule "If a third grader can't pronounce it, don't eat it" is a dangerous rule to follow... -The details behind the group on Facebook called "" that boasts nearly 6,000 members... -And much more... Resources we discuss during this episode: -The Gawker article  - - - - - I imagine that you probably have some thoughts about this podcast. Perhaps some strong thoughts. Leave your comments, questions and feedback at  and I promise to reply!
