HT1221 - Hyperfocal Distance in 2022 Certain kinds of photography, for example street photography, have relied on hyperfocal distance strategies for decades. But here in 2022, our definitions of what constitutes sharpness have been altered because of the advancing technology. Yesterday's hyperfocal distance now seems a bit soft and yesterday's acceptable circle of confusion calculations are no longer adequate for today's standards.

Today we're talking about a few different things. The primary item is hyperfocal distance. What is it and is it really important to use in your photography. We'll also take a walk down memory lane with a photo shoot I did a while ago. HT0824 - Hyperfocal Distance is Your Friend One of the things I miss from the old days is the way my lenses showed me hyperfocal distance right on the lens barrel. None of my digital lenses have it, so I use the DOF Simulator app on my phone to calculate the hyperfocal distance. It's more accurate, but not nearly as convenient. In emergencies, there is always the 1/3 rule.

Existen todo tipos de apps, van desde lo mas útil hasta lo mas absurdo o bizarro ya no sabemos vivir sin ellas. Hay quien dice que nos hacen mas tontos y otros que nos facilitan la vida. Y quedándonos con los que piensan esto ultimo, en el podcast de hoy te traemos 11 apps para fotógrafos que te ayudaran o facilitaran las cosas en tu trabajo. Abarcando todo lo que implica el trabajo como fotógrafo que ya sabes que no es solo disparar fotografías y revelarlas. Apps para stories de instagram MSeria difícil encontrar un fotógrafo o fotógrafa que no use instagram. Por lo que creamos mucho contenido en esta red social. Y desde que llegaron las stories de Instagram creamos mas contenido en ellas que subiendo fotografías a nuestro feed, por lo que han adquirido una gran relevancia. Y si quieres mimar las stories que vas a compartir con tu seguidores te recomiendo dos apps. Unfold y Mojo Art Unfold Te permite crear unas stories mas elegantes y minimalistas, desde usar solo texto o una fotografía únicamente, hasta collages de tus fotografías. Todo esto con muchas opciones de personalización. Ademas puedes crear las plantillas que tu quieras y guardarlas para tener una stories con mas coherencia visual. Mojo Art Mojo Art te permite hacer prácticamente lo mismo que Unfold, pero ésta tiene la particularidad de permitirte mostrarlas con una animación. Es decir, estas creando un vídeo. Una app muy sencilla que te muestra una serie de plantilla y la animación y movimientos que hace, tu tan solo tienes que seleccionar la que mas te guste y rellenarla con tus fotografías y poner el texto. Simple y efectivo. Apps para editar fotografías No siempre vas a querer o necesitar editar una fotografía que hayas hecho con tu teléfono, o quizás eres de los que no aguantar sin editar todas las fotografías. Sea lo que sea, es necesario tener al menos una app para editar. Hay muchísimas app, muy buenas y para todos los gustos pero yo sin duda me quedo con Snapseed. Snapseed Sin duda me parece la mejor app de edición para fotógrafos. Al menos para mi lo es, aunque viendo el éxito que tiene parece que no soy el único que lo opina. Tienes todo lo que necesito o uso a la hora de editar fotografía móvil y de manera sencilla e intuitiva. Muy pocas veces he necesitado otra app para hacer lo que quería. Apps para guardar tus fotografías en la nube Yo los back ups de mi trabajo como fotógrafo lo hago con el servicio de amazon prime. Pero para las fotografías de mi smartphone o las que recibo de amigos y familiares uso otra. Me gusta separar lo personal de lo profesional. Ademas no quiero pagar por otro servicio de almacenamiento en la nube. Por lo que uso Google Fotos. Google Fotos Para mi, Google Fotos tiene todo lo que necesito. Como es parte de la suite de Google, puedo acceder a mi cuenta desde cualquier teléfono o ordenador solo con introducir mi cuenta de Gmail. Me parece super útil que todos mis dispositivos estén sincronizados, ademas puedes elegir que fotografías son las que se suben a la nube seleccionando carpetas. Por ejemplo todas las fotografías que hagas con la aplicación nativa de tu cámara del teléfono, y te olvidas de tener que hacer nada más o de si pierdes el teléfono o lo que sea. Tienes versión gratuita y de pago, yo uso la gratis ya que te da almacenamiento ilimitado a cambio de reducir la resolución de las fotografías. Y como todo lo que tengo en ella no son temas de trabajo y solo las uso para visualizar fotos con mis clientes no necesito más. Apps para conocer el tiempo Siendo fotógrafo es necesario y útil conocer la climatología, a no ser que trabajes siempre en un estudio. Hay muchísimas apps para conocer el tiempo que hace o hará en los próximos días. Yo he probado demasiadas ya, pero sin duda me quedo con AccuWeather. AccuWeather Hace lo mismo que todas las apps pero con un poquito más en todo. Si las comparas AccuWeather siempre te ofrece algo de info extra que las demás no. Y lo que mas la diferencia es que tiene un radar de lluvias, viento y nubes. Genial si quieres preparar bien tus sesiones de fotos y quieres saber como estará el cielo y las temperaturas. Apps para fotógrafos Están son las dos únicas apps exclusivas para fotógrafos que te traigo en este listado. La primera es Photopills, la app mas completa para que planifiques tus salidas fotográficas hasta el mas mínimo detalle. Ya sea para fotografía paisaje, de retrato o el tipo de fotografía que sea, deberías planificar y Photopills te da todas las herramientas. Es cierto que es complicada al principio pero photopills te ofrecen decenas de tutoriales en Youtube o en su pagina para que aprendas a usarla.Y la otra app seria Hyperfocal Pro.¿Y porque te recomiendo una aplicación para conocer la hiperfocal si eso ya lo trae Photopills? Fácil, porque es tan sencilla y rápida de usar que tardo menos abriendo esta sencilla app que yendo a Photopills. HyperFocal pro hace lo justo, necesario y de una manera muy visual. Apps para buscar localizaciones fotográficas Buscar localizaciones o buscar las mejores localizaciones es algo fundamental, o saber a que hora ir a estos lugares. No dejar a la suerte si tendremos una luz bonita y suave o un contraluz enorme. Tampoco dejar al azar el encontrar ese rincón precioso que no esta hiperexplotado fotográficamente. Pues todo esto y más puedes hacer con Google Earth. Google Earth Y es que con Earth prácticamente podemos viajar de una manera virtual por tu ciudad o por el mundo. La utilizo para buscar localizaciones por mi zona pero sobre todo cuando voy a viajar a un lugar al que nunca fui. He descubierto sitios maravillosos (y nada conocidos) desde la app o desde su versión de escritorio. Ademas me parece super util la funcionalidad que tiene de ver por donde sale y se pone el sol exactamente o buscar donde se encuentra la vía láctea, etc. Apps de productividad para fotógrafos Y acabamos con las apps que más utilizo en lo referente al trabajo como fotógrafo pero alejado de mi equipo. Y es que estas son tan útiles como las anteriores y quizás a las que menos atención se les presta. Te voy a hablar de solo 3, aunque utilizo algunas más.La primera seria Google Drive, el otro servicio de almacenamiento en la nube donde guardo todo lo que no son fotografías. Podría decir exactamente lo mismo que con Google Fotos pero añadire que si trabajas en equipo, como hacemos nosotros, puedes compartir carpetas que se sincronizan entre ambas cuentas y te ahorra mucho tiempo y muchos envíos de emails.La siguiente app de productividad es Google Calendar (sí, trabajo con la suite de Google ya que todas las apps se sincronizan). Sin esta no podría vivir. Con ella planifico toda la semana de trabajo y no me refiero a cuando y donde tengo que ir a trabajar con la cámara y cuando tengo que revelar y editar mis fotografías. Si no cuando tengo reuniones, videollamadas, o dar clases, también me marco cuando crear contenido y en resumidas cuentas, me sirve para llevar un orden en lo laboral.Y por ultimo te quiero hablar de Buffer. Una app que me ahorra mucho tiempo y también me hace ser mas consciente de lo que publico en redes sociales y me ayuda a planificar mejor. Con ella puedes programar las publicaciones que vas a hacer en Instagram, facebook, twitter o la red social que uses. Y con la versión gratuita tienes más que de sobra¿ ¿ Cuantas de estas apps para fotógrafos conocías o quizás usas otras?
