Organize October happening now: simplyconvivial.com/october | Calendars only work if they're kept accurate—and in real life, that takes iteration and flexibility. In this Simply Convivial podcast episode, Mystie Winckler talks with Convivial Circle mentor member Michelle Arencebia about how she keeps calendars updated in busy family life.Michelle shares how linking calendars with her husband and adult children cut down on confusion, why she enters events right on her phone the moment she hears about them, and how she uses weekly dashboards and interval calendars to keep the bigger picture in view.We also talk about:What to do when other people don't update the shared calendarHow vocation shapes what belongs on the calendarWhy iteration matters more than the “perfect” planner systemUsing alignment cards as quick reminders when life doesn't go to planWhether you use Google Calendar, a wall calendar, or a printable dashboard, the point is to keep it simple, stay cheerful, and keep adjusting.

Lured Up - A Pokémon GO Podcast

Lured Up Podcast 365 Live Streamed on - 9/30/25 Publish Date - 10/3/2025 When you think about it, this week was completely normal. Wake up, open the game, go to work, come home, go to bed, then repeat. The culture of routines that this game has created provide Trainers with the consistent backbone to their day. As Pokémon GO Trainers, we really do have a unique approach to how we game, with gameplay styles that are diverse and personalized. Being a current Pokémon GO Trainer is a great thing.  Mega Camerupt gave IRL Trainers the opportunity to have another day of grinding which could evolve into a Trade Day afterparty. With most events happening on Sundays, it lines up perfectly, but for next Saturday's Meta Metagross Raid Day, we may see the first stand alone Trade Day Campfire events. We can't hype up enough how awesome Trade Days are and how they managed to create a weekly event that pairs perfectly with off screen activities.  Looking at the October Calendar, we see a balanced month of events, new releases, and the return of the Halloween Event. Mega Metagross has been a long time coming so we put together a Battle Party and check out Pokebattler and GO Hub to review what counters to bring. Hopefully we see some fun and unique battle parties out there as the Counter list is exceptionally diverse. Let us know what you are bringing! We wrap things up by spending a hypothetical $20 in the webstore and opening a conversation about spending in general. One thing the game does well is to tap into our emotions to influence spending, even when the purchase may not lead to what you want or expect. Impulsive behaviors, FOMO, and so many other factors play a role in how much and how often we spend. Does this give Trainers agency to be an individual, or does it drive Trainers apart? We dig in deep! Lured Up - A Pokémon GO Podcast

Lured Up Podcast 364 Live Streamed on - 9/23/25 Publish Date - 9/26/25 This week had a first with Scopely retweeting Pokémon GO which reminded Trainers that the Niantic acquisition was completed months ago. With the comments being somewhat tame so far, we inappropriately speculate on if we think the hyper passionate and emotional X mob will give Scopely a fair chance on social, or if the baton will be passed directly to them from Niantic. With the team members being the same, we know the same devs are still pushing the buttons. As for social, particularly NianticHelp, we are yet to see the names and branding flip to reflect Scopely. We know one thing for sure, we hope Scopely is ready to take on PGO social media. We start with a recap of the last week of gameplay including the Psychic Spectacular: Taken Over and Shadow Groudon Raid Weekend. While the event pace has slowed down a bit, the Today View is more stacked than ever, with multiple Timed and Special Research stacking on top of each other. With three upcoming weekends of Max Battle and Raid Days, we talk about what kind of value we get from DMAX vs Mega Pokémon. This week brings us Mega Camerupt, followed by DMAX Duraludon releasing along with its Shiny, followed up by Mega Metagross which has been a long time coming. With most Trainers having already invested in good IV Metagross, what appeals to you more: DMAX or Megas? Large scale IRL events are in the news this week as City Safaris in Valencia and Amsterdam are happening this weekend, and a Save-The-Date post was shared for GO Tour. With both of these events having a unique presentation and feel, they compliment GO Fest events well, and promote travel, which is something we feel makes this game so special. No worries if you can't travel, GO Tour Global will be happening one week after the in person event. Finally we wrap up with a conversation about a topic that has been around for a while. Content creators being rude to the developer and claiming that it is constructive criticism. With so many ways to sway a community, and so many avenues as a creator to speak directly to the developer, we question why some on social media insist on slipping in a dig when commenting about the game.  Psychic Spectacular: Taken Over Shadow Groudon Raid Weekend Completely Normal Mega Camerupt Raid Day Mega Camerupt Pokebattler Mega Camerupt GO Hub Steel Skyline Mega Metagross Raid Day City Safaris Dancing in the Moonlight Harvest Festival Scopely enters the chat Joe Merrick JRESeawolf As The Pokéball Turns David Hernandez GoFundMe Buy Some Merch! Lured Up - A Pokémon GO Podcast

Lured Up Podcast 363 Live Streamed on - 9/16/25 Publish Date - 9/19/25 The Concierge Event kept Trainers busy and having a good time with a fun encounter pool and Shiny hunts. If you haven't watched Concierge on Netflix yet, it is something you should do ASAP. Pokémon GO deals with such a high volume of Pokémon, it is nice when animation reminds us that Pokémon have personalities.Having Flabébé Community Day over the weekend broke things up nicely, while the fan favorite Trade Day closed out the weekend. The Psychic Spectacular is back and this time it has been Taken Over by Team GO Rocket. Perfect for Trainers trudging through Level 44, this may have been the shortest gap between Team GO Rocket events. We run through the event and dig in to the updated Shadow lineups from Grunts and Team Leaders. Rescuing Shadow Incarnate Form Tornadus should be on everyone's list, and should be somewhat quick to complete as you can get a Super Rocket Radar from Research. Shadow Groudon comes back to us this weekend so we put together a little Raid Guide and Battle Party to get you prepped. With some fun counters including Mega Evolution and Shadow Pokémon, we hope you have a sizable Raid Party that allows you to get creative with things. Some highlights from our parties include Ken bringing 3 Hundo Kyogres, with each of them being a little bit different, and Adam bringing Pokémon like Golisipod that may have never seen a Raid Battle to date! While we do have some info on Mega Camerupt Raid Day and Solosis Community Day, we close things out with a conversation around game-life balance, and how it may take you being a bit creative to get the most gameplay in. We discuss ways to have the game be less invasive on your personal and professional lives, and how there is so much value in playing this game solo. Has the onslaught of events impacted the adventure aspect of this game? Perhaps it is up to the Trainer to revisit a more adventurous play style and get out there, even without an active event or group to meetup with. If you are, more power to you. I'm more of a “grab-and-go” type - I want something simple, nutritious, and easy for my kids to reach for as we're heading out the door. That's why I like Chomps. Their full-size meat sticks have 10 grams of protein and zero sugar. They're filling and made from real ingredients, so it's one less thing to think about. And if you've ever opened your kid's backpack to find a half-eaten snack from who-knows-when still wrapped up in there, Chomplings are great. They're smaller sticks (the right size to toss in a lunchbox or that little front backpack pocket) with 4 grams of protein and zero sugar.Chomps are made of high-quality ingredients like 100% grass-fed beef, venison, and antibiotic-free turkey. They're also free from the top nine allergens, so you don't have to worry about sending them to school.Check out all the sizes and delicious flavors at Chomps.com/DRBECKY for 15% off plus free shippingThere's always a moment - maybe two weeks into the school year - where I stop and think: “Wait, wasn't summer just five minutes ago?”Suddenly, we're back in the rush of packing lunches, signing permission slips, and struggling to find a pair of matching socks every morning. That's why I've started looking ahead to fall breaks now - before the long-weekend creeps up on me and feels less like a break, and more like being stuck at home for three days with three kids!My go-to for quick getaways? Booking an Airbnb. It's a reset that still feels like home: games and toys for the kids, a big living room for family movie nights, and even bunk beds that kids claim are “way better than our beds at home.”Plus, do you ever think about how you can host your own home on Airbnb for another family to enjoy while you're away? It's a great way to earn a little extra income to put towards your own trip, school supplies, or next season's cleats. Your home might be worth more than you think. Find out how much at airbnb.com/host.As parents, the mental load is real—to-do lists, doctor's appointments, sports practices, work events, birthday parties…” (pause) Should I keep going? If your family is anything like mine, it can feel like there are a thousand things to remember and your brain is running on overdrive.Well, what if I told you there's a way to bring a little more calm and clarity to your chaotic, always-changing family schedule? Meet Skylight Calendar. It's a central, easy-to-see touchscreen with clear colors, so everyone in your family can stay in the loop. Lured Up Podcast 362 Live Streamed on - 3/9/25 Publish Date - 3/12/25 We think Trainers had a lot more fun celebrating Kanto than they thought they would. With a diverse spawn pool, plenty of fan favorites, and some nice bonuses, it really was a good time. Last weekend we had Mega Sharpedo, which was surprisingly popular, bringing out strong numbers on the ground, with a good helping of Remote Raiders as well. It was a bit nice to only have a single 2-5pm event over the weekend, as it gave us time to recover, prep, and spend time with our families! We hope this is the pacing we see moving forward. Trade Days may be one of the best incentives to IRL play that we have seen in a long time. Who knew that just adding an additional Lucky Trade would motivate people to reach the end of an event and want to keep the gameplay going with a trade session. We are major supporters of this new bonus, and think it will only grow in popularity as Communities build it into their meetup schedules. Nothing better than grabbing some food after an event, talking shop, and banging out 100 trades. There is still a lot of September gameplay left this month with the return of the Psychic Spectacular, Shadow Groudon Raid Weekend and the newly announced Completely Normal event. Even though this Psychic Spectacular is a Taken Over event, the core event has been a staple on the Pokémon GO annual calendar for years. We take a close look at Niantic's blog's for the event over the last few years and how they have changed. From fully detailed spawn lists with images, to just a list, to a now, very shortened list, the community has feelings. For some it is a non-issue, but for others, they feel mistreated, almost assuming Niantic has some malicious intent in removing a few Pokémon from this list. Adam brings up a good point in how this game rarely if ever surprises us. Maybe this is a simple way to add some actual surprise in needing to adventure a bit to get the big picture. Finally, we touch on how some quality of life and interface updates have upset some Trainers online, reminding us that some people will simply be upset at anything and everything. Most people think the toughest part of polyamory is jealousy. But according to Richie, it's actually… logistics. Yep, the calendar. After a life-changing cancer journey with his partner, Richie realized that the hardest part of opening their relationship wasn't emotions, it was managing schedules, consent, and privacy across multiple partners. With his background in software product management, he decided to do something about it, and created PYE, a scheduling and consent management app designed specifically for the polyamorous community. In this episode of Nope! We're Not Monogamous, Richie and I dig into:Why scheduling is considered an “unsolvable math problem” (and why we need more self-compassion when we feel polyunsaturated). How misunderstandings about dates, boundaries, and consent are quietly breaking relationships. The creative ways poly folks use calendars as safety tools. Why color coding, structure, and intentional planning actually free us up for more intimacy and fun.Richie's vision for cutting down burnout and building more trusting, joyful relationships with better tools. If you've ever juggled multiple Google Calendars, forgotten to communicate a boundary, or lost a relationship to logistics overwhelm — this one's for you.

I'm Anne Ganguzza and I am here with my lovely co-host, Danielle Famble.  00:49 - Danielle (Guest) Hey Anne, hello Danielle, hey, hey, how you doing, how are you? I'm good, I'm good, I'm good.  00:53 - Anne (Host) Well, I am glad to have you back and I have a topic for discussion today, because I've had, on more than one occasion, some students recently talk to me about gosh. I'm just having a hard time finding work and I don't know if I should continue to stay in this industry because it's just getting too hard. I mean to sustain it, and so what should I do? It would be a worthy topic of discussion to talk about, like this particular industry and how we handle our financial situation in times of inconsistency, because it's just a known fact, guys, bosses out there, it is an inconsistent, it is part of being an entrepreneur. Our, our income is inconsistent. So what do we do and how do we budget for those times when maybe it's slow or, you know, when it's not slow, and what do we do when we have inconsistent income?  01:55 - Danielle (Guest) That's such a good question. That's a big part of being a boss, being an entrepreneur and being in this business, and it's good to give the perspective one you know to your students that you're coaching and to anyone listening. You're not alone. It doesn't mean that you're a bad voice actor. It doesn't mean that you're bad at this business. That is the nature of what it is, that we do, and so it has nothing to do with you or your worth or the fact that you're not good. Slow months happen all the time. It happens to the best of us.  02:24 - Anne (Host) And you know, I think it's really something a point worth mentioning is I've been in this industry about 18 years and it's always inconsistent, like there's not been a year where it hasn't been inconsistent. So it is something that I think, if you plan correctly and you're prepared for, it doesn't come as a surprise and it's something that you can absolutely continue to grow and build your business through oh, totally Inconsistent income. So, as long as you plan and strategize, yeah, and you just know this is normal.  02:56 - Danielle (Guest) This has not got anything to do with you. This is a normal thing, you know. It reminds me of I don't know if you know this, anne, but I used to be a waitress for a long, long time. I was a waitress at comedy clubs and the way that I made my money was on tips, and so I got used to living on an inconsistent income and realizing that there's going to be a couple of days or weeks or months where it's going to be great and then it's going to be slow. Maybe you get cut because it's so slow that they don't need you to be there. But you know, the thing that didn't get cut was my fixed expenses, my rent, my cell phone bill, all of those things.  03:35 So I would say to those are stable. Yeah, figure out what your stable expenses are and make sure that you can keep that as your base and plan for your base Anything on top of that. You know when times are great and when you're making a lot more money, you can use that to keep it to the side for a buffer, but really just know what your base expenses are, which then goes back to our longstanding conversation about knowing your numbers and the data and everything else. If you're too afraid to look at what your expenses are, you're not going to know what your base is that you need to be able to maintain at all times. So really like have the courage, look at what are your expenses that are fixed, that are stable, and know what your base is, and you want to be able to hit your base every single month.  04:22 - Anne (Host) So then, budget around your worst month, not your best month. Yeah, absolutely Right. And and that and the and the numbers on your worst month can can actually like I. I mean, I could say what are your expenses and your worst month would be you didn't make anything. Budget around that. That's what I would say. Right, that's your worst case scenario, and so you'll still need to be able to function. And so what does that mean in terms of if I don't make any income for an entire month, does that mean I should give up my voiceover business, danielle?  04:54 - Danielle (Guest) I don't think so, but I do think that you do need to have some way of knowing that there is income coming in from another form. So maybe it's not the income coming in from your voiceover business, because you didn't make anything that month but you do have a nine to five or you do have a babysitting job or you do have. You know, you do Uber on the weekends or what have you. Just know that there needs to be, that money needs to be coming in from somewhere else. If it's not coming in from somewhere else, then we need to find how can we get to our first dollar. Is it in voiceover? Is it in another way of making money? But make sure that you know that there is some income coming in so that, even if the income from your voiceover business is at zero for the month, you know that there is income coming in from somewhere else that's going to be able to offset and still hit your baseline goal.  05:43 - Anne (Host) And I think your budget right for those months you don't live on that budget. I mean it should be a budget for a budget that is a low-income month, not necessarily like I'm going to continue to go to Starbucks every morning or I'm going to. Maybe that's a necessity, maybe you feel like that's worked into your bare necessities, but is that something that you're willing to give up in a low-income month? Or is going out to dinner? I think that's the biggest one. I think, like my husband and I are like okay, we got to stop going out to dinner, right, because that's an unnecessary expense. If we're trying to tighten our budget during a low-income month, it's mostly like oh, and we're going to go out and spend money doing this, or are we going to go out and spend money doing that? A lot of times it's based around food. Why is that?  06:25 - Danielle (Guest) Yeah, I mean, that's mine as well. It's food, but then sometimes it's you know, if you're going to be spending additional money on things in your business, maybe it's that you forego coaching for the next couple of months because you don't really have the money for that, or maybe you need to forego some other things in your business and subscriptions that maybe can be paused. It's not just what you're doing in your life, it's also things that you can cut back in your business too, so that you can make sure that you know. You know, I know that my fixed expenses for the operations of me are this these are the things that will you know, that are always going to stay the same my housing, food, you know, basic necessities, business expenses.  07:10 - Anne (Host) Business expenses as well, I'm going to say rocket money. I had a free trial and I used it. It's great for finding out those recurring monthly expenses that you have that all of a sudden like oh, that Sirius XM like subscription that I have for my car, which I don't drive very often because I work from home, right, but now I can play SiriusXM everywhere, but still that subscription costs, and it used to only cost like $12.99. Now it's like $25 a month, and so that can help you keep track of those subscriptions that creep up on you that you may or may not be utilizing.  07:44 - Danielle (Guest) And everything is a subscription nowadays, so really you have to. It's so sneaky, but you can find a lot of unused subscriptions and then you can recoup some of that money back just by saying no, thank you to those subscriptions.  07:59 - Anne (Host) Think about your Starbucks as a subscription. That's true, really, if it's something you do every day, I mean really. I mean I know there's a lot of people that that's a daily habit, and you know. Think of that as a subscription. And one other thing I wanted to mention, and I would not have even thought of this really until I incorporated and became an S Corp but I am required to pay myself a salary, right, and that's something that you know.  08:22 When you're trying to like skimp on your, your budget, or you're trying to figure out your expenses, don't forget you need money to live, you need money to buy the groceries, you need money to pay the rent you need, and so I think it's always a good idea, even if you're not an S-corp, to really kind of think about here's the money coming in. A portion of that should be set aside for my expenses, for me, right, that's my salary, and then pay yourself on a set schedule. I think that helps you really get an idea as to okay, here's the money I need to live on, here's the money that's profiting in my business. I don't know. It's just one of those things that maybe it's worth it to take a look at.  09:03 - Danielle (Guest) Absolutely. That should be a core staple that everyone should be doing is you know we're doing this. We're in business to make a profit, and so the idea is I need to get paid, and making sure that you pay yourself first so that you are getting used to, and your business is getting used to, that expense of making sure you're paid. That's the study and that's actually how you can stay steady is okay. I know that I'm going to be paying myself a certain amount every single month. That is the expense of my business to pay me, but that's also how I'm able to pay my bills, keeping that steady, and it doesn't need to be that you wait until you are an S-Corp to do that. I would say try to start doing that as quickly as possible. Once you have established the fact that you're doing this business, you're in business.  09:51 - Anne (Host) I would not have realized that until you know I really started an S-Corp and I should have actually. Again, I needed to take a look at the numbers.  09:59 - Danielle (Guest) Here's the deal when you do have those lean months, it doesn't come as such a shock no-transcript Because if you wait, that is going to be a surprise likely to you where you're not really expecting it. And then you get into a really unfortunate situation where this inconsistent income has caused an inconsistent pattern in how you're paying yourself and how you're putting money to the side. So make sure that when you're paying yourself you're also making sure to take care of your tax liabilities.  11:01 - Anne (Host) Yes, Excellent idea. And another thing, as I look at you here in your brand new, shiny, sparkly studio, right and we've talked about this so many times before is having that financial cushion, right, Having that emergency fund. But I think honestly, like, if you can have more than just that emergency fund, which doesn't get touched under the extreme circumstances of an emergency, but consider having another fund which is, you know, just a one to three cushion fund, right, Right that you have to live in the event that you have a slow month, right, and having that separate fund where you feel secure and confident that you can take from that fund and you're not dipping into that emergency fund. Because I always feel guilty if I'm dipping into my emergency fund. Well, number one, because my emergency fund is heavily invested in my high-yield savings account, which doesn't mean that you can't have a one to three-month cushion also sitting in a high-yield savings account, and so I always feel like, oh, I don't want to touch that because I want to keep earning interest on the greatest amount of money possible Sure yeah.  12:06 And so that's my emergency fund, but also maybe having a separate fund just for, oh, times are lean this month and you know, and I'm going to say, maybe, in order to give me better mental health, I do need a Starbucks today or I do need a pair of earrings today. But I'm going to be a caution. I'm going to caution people to not necessarily go out and shop your, your financial worries away, because you know, that's me. I've definitely been in that trap where, oh, I just need to feel better. Let me go out and buy some new clothes, yeah, or a new lipstick, yeah.  12:41 I think try not to do that. But you know, I think that one to three month other fund that you have will help you to pay the bills.  12:47 - Danielle (Guest) Absolutely. And so then you can use sort of a system where you're making sure that when things are inconsistent and times are a little bit leaner and you're not making as much money, you know what your baseline, your core base expenses are. And then, when things are going really well and you're making a lot more money and you had a really great month, you put some of that money to the side in that cushion fund that's not your emergency fund and when things are low, you use that cushion fund to make sure that you're staying afloat. I like that sort of cycle of making sure that you are taking care of yourself. It's not necessarily feast or famine when things are going really well.  13:28 You have already looked ahead and taken care of yourself, because you know that this is a cyclical business, this is inconsistent. It's an inconsistent income kind of business and you know that one day you're going to need to use the money that you are currently making. Don't just spend everything that you're making. Put it to the side so that when it is inconsistent and when it is a slower month, you're pulling from the times when you had a really great month to keep yourself, you know, in balance. And that's, I think, the way to do it is you should look at this month or any given month, as am I taking care of me now, or am I taking care of me now and me in the future? But always make sure that you are doing that delicate balance.  14:16 - Anne (Host) Speaking of, you know, setting aside money for taxes, and setting aside, you know, that money. Don't forget about retirement guys. Don't forget about a retirement fund. Please don't forget about retirement. One thing I want to say is that and I'm not a money girl, right, or I never thought of myself as a money girl, but can I just tell you, the software companies are making it easier and easier. Like your credit cards are now categorizing your spending, right, Because, of course, they want you to use the credit card more. So they're going to categorize it and you can find out where your expenses are going, and if you use the credit card, you can get 3% back. Blah, blah, blah, blah blah. They want to encourage credit card spending, but also you can use that as a method for really finding out where is all your money going.  14:57 Quickbooks like I never thought. Like my QuickBooks Online. Like you can generate a report literally a report in a matter of seconds, Whereas before it used to be really difficult, man, If you were doing like spreadsheets. And I don't know, Danielle, I can't remember what product you use, but I mean I need something simple, something that does the work for me. Some people are really hardcore and go right into the Excel spreadsheet and that's how they track their budget. But, like for me, I just generate, I flip, I generate a report really quickly in QuickBooks and it tells me, oh my gosh, I spent so much money this month on my expenses going out versus what was coming in, and so I can really then make an educated and strategized decision based upon those reports.  15:39 And I can do, I can generate those reports at the flick of a button. And even if I hate finances right which I know a lot of people don't like to look at their, their money yeah, it's again one of those things. This is your business and it is something that, if you're not looking at it, pay somebody else to do it, like my accountant. Then talk with your accountant and say, hey, look, where's all my money going. Or I found that I had a slow month. And then have that weekly meeting or that monthly meeting that says here, OK, they can break it down for you and say, look, you're, they can generate the reports and they say, look, here's what you're spending on lipstick and or here's what you're spending on restaurants going out, and here's where you can maybe potentially save money. Or think about taking this money that you have left over and putting it into this type of an investment account.  16:23 - Danielle (Guest) This money that you have left over and putting it into this type of an investment account and taking care of future you.  16:29 So you've got sort of the shorter term future you of this one to three months cushion for when times are lean. You've got your emergency fund, which usually I say you know, six to eight months I say closer to for me, yeah, six to eight months, which is a pretty big emergency fund, but that's because we're self-employed and so I want to have a pretty good cushion, or the longer term fund being your retirement. And there are ways, depending on how you have it set up, where, if you're investing in your retirement account, that helps you in tax time because it might lower the amount that you are paying on your taxes.  17:05 So it is always forward looking. It's looking at what's happening today and it's looking at what would be happening in the shorter term future or longer term future. And how can you use the windfall that you have or maybe are not experiencing now? How can you use that to keep you afloat, you know, with your core base expenses. But it really is again going back to do. You know what those core base expenses are Right, and how can you stay, you know, level with them. And if you need to dip into the bank of you, then you can do that with no shame and no problem, knowing that you've already done the work to take care of yourself.  17:44 - Anne (Host) From a girl that's a little less of a money girl to a girl who is a money girl. One thing that always sneaks up on me are those antics annual fees or the recurring right subscriptions or that come up once a year. Because I went from let's not do it every month, let's save and let's do yearly subscriptions, but every once in a while, if I'm not paying attention, that yearly subscription will come up and it'll be taken out of my account and I'll be like whoa, how do you do you prepare yourself? I do For those things. So talk about how you prepare you know some of those things.  18:18 - Danielle (Guest) you know we use the word like surprise expenses, when, like it's kind of like these are super noble things, like yeah, I signed up for that credit card that has that high annual fee.  18:27 - Speaker 2 (Announcement) It was me.  18:28 - Danielle (Guest) It wasn't like some, somebody impersonating me Right large expense, that is, a knowable expense. I typically will put a calendar alert in a month in advance so that I can remind myself that this is coming. For example, my credit cards. I have the American Express Platinum card, I have the American Express Gold card and they have very high annual fees and for some reason I applied for them around the same time of the year and different years. So they, the annual fees, they come and they hit like roughly, like right, one after the other and I always think to myself Danielle, what did you do?  19:05 Why did you do that? Why did you do that? Why did what were you doing in December that you really needed a new credit? Why did you do that right in the same time. And that's, you know, my own personal journey. But I know that it's coming, so I can prepare either a little bit every single month to make sure I'm ready for that, yeah, or because I've given myself that calendar alert saying hey, danielle, just so you know this is coming up next month, I'm already mentally and financially prepared that that hit is about to happen. Most of those, you know, those subscriptions, those annual subscriptions, those are things that are knowable expenses, albeit big expenses. So your calendar is your very best friend. Give yourself the heads up and know that it's coming.  19:49 - Anne (Host) I agree I live by my calendar anyway for a day-to-day schedule of things that I'm doing. And I think if you have a calendar, a financial calendar, I mean my goodness. I mean you could make an easy financial calendar. I use Google Calendar for everything and they're color-coded when do I have coaching sessions? When do I have monthly workouts coming up, when do I have all of these things, holidays and that sort of thing, so you could have a financial calendar that has all of your subscription renewals and or your monthly costs, like those base costs that we talked about, so that you're prepared.  20:25 This month I'm going to plan on spending this amount of money. And also, again, it's one of those things that if you have an accounting software that can be generated in an accounting software easily, your monthly budget, absolutely, and you know it's something that you need to like. And again, I'm talking from a girl. I'm not a money girl, but I have to force myself to do that and take a hard look at what's going out every month and how can I cut? And I recently just said, ok, how can I trim the budget in my company, because I had been like, oh, let me try this software. I'm a big risk taker Danielle, and we talk about this thing, I hoard software too.  21:04 Yeah, I buy software subscriptions, I try things out and then I forget about them sometimes right.  21:10 I was like, oh, I haven't used it. I tried that out, I paid for the subscription, I forgot about it. So every once in a while I have to revisit what am I putting my money into, and has it given me a return on my investment? And if not, I need to trim the fat. And so I really I did that more recently so that I could have money to invest in something different.  21:31 So again I had, and I invest in in people who who work for me, and again I wanted to invest in some additional advertising, and so I needed to get that money from somewhere Right. So I had to kind of figure out where can I consolidate my expenses Right? Can I get, now that you know I've evolved in my business so many years, maybe I don't need this particular, I don't need as much social media, maybe I don't need, you know, that monthly subscription to this particular? You know, pay to play. Am I really using this pay to play?  22:07 And again, you know, figure out what am I? Where's my money coming in? Where am I making the most of my money? And do I want to reinvest my money coming in into that, into getting more of that, or do I want to reinvest my money coming in into that, into getting more of that, or do I want to diversify and maybe explore another genre of voiceover, or I want to get more voiceover work in this particular genre? What's it going to take for me to get there? So I think, really again taking a look at the money, and if you hate looking at money, I suggest, even if you hate looking at money, it's something that you got to do. Consider it an education in running your own business.  22:40 - Danielle (Guest) I would consider, if you hate looking at money, that you really need to look at money.  22:46 - Anne (Host) If you don't like it, then you really need to do it If you don't like it, that's a flag.  22:50 - Danielle (Guest) That's a flag, that's a flag. Run toward it, run toward it.  22:55 - Anne (Host) I love it.  22:55 - Danielle (Guest) I was told by my financial advisor to have money dates with myself, and I think what you're talking about would be a really great thing to do twice a year of these sinking funds, these mini emergency fund or emergency fund, so that you know where you need to divert more of your money in the good months, in the months where you're making so much more money than you planned for. That's really a great thing to do and I would say once or twice a year to reevaluate that, because maybe your one to three month or your short term emergency fund, let's say, is about a couple thousand dollars under. So you know. Ok, you know what. Why don't I put my money and my focus on beefing that up so that when we have these inconsistent months or when we have lower months, I know that I'm good. You won't know until you take the time to really look at it. So give yourself the money date of taking a real look at your money and knowing your numbers about what is your core expenses, what can you maybe trim or what can you press pause on, and then what can you run toward when it's time and when you have the money for it.  24:18 I love the idea of sinking funds. You have a fund specifically for your education, for your just slower months, for things that you do when you book that really big job and maybe you want to take yourself on a nice you know nice dinner or something like that like ways to celebrate. You can have multiple of these sinking funds. That's what something like that, like ways to celebrate. You can have multiple of these, these sinking funds. That's what I like about some of these online accounts where you can have a bank account that will give you an unlimited number of smaller, you know, virtual accounts where you can just put that money to the side I love that that's great.  24:52 - Anne (Host) It's a really great hack that I use.  24:54 That's a new concept and and what I like.  24:57 What I like about how you're talking and you're phrasing this whole conversation is you're talking about funds, right, you're talking about fund accounts, yeah, versus when, when and I don't know if this is just me and my age, but, like whenever I was talked about, well, you need to set up a budget that had a negative connotation and that meant that I wasn't making the money that I should have been making, or I was. You know what I mean? I was somehow lacking in whatever, mostly in money, right, I was lacking in money and the ability to either manage my money or whatever it was, but it had a negative connotation and I think that we need to reframe that whole concept. Again, if we talk about, like, money blocks, right, it could be a form of a money block and, in reality, the term budget, you can rephrase it to say you know, your money funds or your fund account it's giving you more of like a permission to celebrate it because you are strategizing, you are creating a future with a purpose, yes, and your purpose is focused, strategized and smart.  26:03 - Danielle (Guest) Absolutely, and it's purposeful. It's what you've decided that you're going to do. So budgeting for me, when I think about it, it's what am I deciding that I'm going to be spending my money on and this money is allocated towards that thing that I already decided. If you take away the concept that a budget is restricting you, it's not restricting you. It's where you have already pre-purposed and pre-determined where your money is going to go, and then you just do as you set out. It gives you freedom and it puts you in the driver's seat. You decided that you want to spend your money on the Starbucks or your whatever, and isn't that what we?  26:44 - Anne (Host) yeah, Exactly, Isn't that what we decided? Bosses right, we are in the driver's seat. We are the boss Totally, and you know you need to be the boss of all aspects of this business. And I think, if you really take a look at your budgets and or your funding accounts and I love what you just said about the virtual accounts there, Danielle that's a concept that I actually was not aware of, so now I'm going to be researching that because I love that, I love being able to it's like my content buckets for social media, right? This?  27:15 is going to be my fund buckets for Ann's Lipstick, no, for my business. Right For that Starbucks account. I've got money in it. So I think that really gives us a much clearer strategy and purpose when really looking at our business. And again, you always want to go forward and move forward in your business and this is one way that you guys can get there Totally.  27:38 - Danielle (Guest) You are in the driver's seat. These are not things happening to you. You can make the decision as to where you spend your money when it comes, and if you need to dip into the bank of you so that you future you is taken care of, because the you of today did the work to make sure that they were taking care of future. You Love that. That's. What I love about being an entrepreneur is that I'm taking responsibility for myself and taking care of responsibility of myself today and also future me, by putting money into the spending buckets or to the sinking funds, to my retirement account, to my emergency fund, and then I am making these financial decisions with me in mind, because that's my job is to take care of myself and also the people that are around me that I touch with my business, with my life, with my purpose.  28:32 - Anne (Host) And with that lovely words of wisdom, danielle, I'm going to thank you so much. What a great conversation. Yeah, this is a great conversation. Love it, love it, love it. Bosses, I'm going to give a great big shout out to our sponsor, ipdtl. You, too, can connect and network like the money boss that Danielle is. I absolutely love it. I love, love, loved our conversation. Thank you again, bosses. Here is the scene… You are winding down towards the end of your Raid Day, walking down a hill with the remaining members of your Campfire. You reach the waterfront just as the sun is dropping below the horizon, lighting up the gameboard in an amber glow. Trainers are scattered about, and everyone is having an incredible time. Sounds like the best, right? We think so.  We kick things off with a recap of the last week, with another triple threat weekend. The Kanto Celebration has us smiling when Snorlax appears, as our weekend brings us Rookidee Community Day and Mega Gyarados Raid Day. The calendar fatigue has been real, and sometimes you need a hard reset. The repetitive nature we see in this game sometimes makes it easy to pick an event to sit out, or at least the event that will bring the least amount of FOMO. Mega Sharpedo will debut this weekend, with a Raid Day that should be popular with the Community. Mega Raids can be done with fewer Trainers than some Legendaries, so Mega Raid Days can move quickly, offer high accessibility, and breathe new life into existing Pokémon already in our storage. Adam can brush off his multiple hundo Sharpedo and decide what to do with his squad of Hundo Carvana. The addition of Trade Days make any Sunday event more attractive, and something tells us there will be plenty of Shiny Mega Sharpedo trades going down. We glaze over the remaining events of the month, as we have over a week until they arrive. Team GO Rocket is back with the Psychic Spectacular: Taken Over, which takes us into Shadow Groudon Raid Weekend. The pacing remains high, which pairs well when the community is feeling good. The September GO Pass however, has some Trainers feeling a bit left out. Our final convo of the game is about player expectation, and how like the Timed Incubator, you get out what you put in. With Niantic slash Scopely putting more and more into IRL gameplay, the experience itself can sometimes outweigh the event. That is the lightning in a bottle. The experience behind community events, the magic that happens off screen, the friendships that we make along the way. All of these things create an environment that Trainers of all skill levels, ambitions, or financial investment can get behind. That environment is what some perspectives on line are lacking, as Community experiences aren't created through paid tickets, rewards, or bonuses. The Campfire events are becoming the star of the show, and we are here for it. Lured Up Podcast 360 Live Streamed on - 8/26/25 Publish Date - 8/29/25 The Max Finale has come and gone and shockingly, the Community is split over how they feel about the event! OK, maybe not so shockingly, but the event did have some ups and downs. This caused emotions to flare online, even though Trainers on the ground seemed to be having the times of their lives. We knew with the lead in of Dark Skies that we had to come up with a game plan to maximize our gameplay. Do we spend the MP on the DMAX throughout the week, or do we hold back for the GMAX over the weekend. The GO Pass created a solid free to play foundation for Trainers to have agency over how they wanted to play, with the Finale itself feeling like a 16 hour long MAX Battle event. It only took about 1 or 2 Eternatus Max Battles for Trainers to figure out how they wanted their day to go, with the bulk of Trainers we interacted with, putting a low to zero priority on battling Eternatus.  That being said the other GMAX stole the show as spawns without a shiny boost felt a bit lackluster, even with the incredibly high spawn density. This was an Eternatus focused event, but oddly enough, for many Trainers, the Eternatus chase was over once they hit level 60 on their GO Pass. Only a small amount of Trainers were in for the long Eternatus haul, meaning not only an investment of money but also of time. Doing enough Battles to max out Eternatus could cost $200 or more. This caused the online community to sharpen their pitchforks, as the combo of FOMO and sunk cost fallacy collided.  Trainers on the ground seemed to have a blast, with Campfire meetups driving the train. Trainers had an incredible time and put in some serious distance while trekking throughout the event. It almost seemed like some were simply looking for an egg to throw, but to each their own right? The Max Finale was only part of the news this week, as Season 20, Tales of Transformation was announced, along with a level rebalancing that will bring the max level all the way up to 80! The roller coaster of emotions and feelings is doing loops and we are here to make sense of it all.  Dark Skies and the Max Finale G47IX Dark Skies Infographic G47IX Max Finale Infographic Sunkissed Shores Mega Gyarados Rookidee Community Day Tales of Transformation Leveling Update Pokémon Concierge Celebration Kanto Celebration Mega Sharpedo Raid Day Stay up to date by adding our Google Calendar to your account! High-achieving, Type A women often look like they're “holding it all together.” But beneath the Pilates classes, iced coffees, stacks of online shopping, school runs and packed Google Calendars, many of us are silently stuck in functional freeze. This isn't depression in the way people usually talk about it. It's the version where you're still showing up - to work, to motherhood, to relationships - but inside you feel tired, numb, disconnected, exhausted, and unable to fully rest. You pushed too hard, but there's no time to slow down. Today, with Integrative Health Researcher, Practitioner & biology-of-trauma expert Sarah Murphy, we explore what functional freeze actually is, why Type A women burn through minerals and B vitamins faster - and what that means for energy and resilience, the fine line between “still functioning” and being completely disconnected from yourself and practical ways to start being able to spin those plates with the body saying HELP. If you're tired of pushing, crashing, and calling it “normal,” this episode is for you. It will help you understand what is happening inside of your body.

Lured Up Podcast 358 Live Streamed on - 8/12/25 Publish Date - 8/15/25 With less than two weeks until the GO Fest Max Finale, the event calendar will not be giving anyone a calm before the storm. It's time to start strategizing on how to best prepare for the lead up to Eternatus. From item and storage maintenance, to banking consumable items, it is in your best interest to start thinking about how you want to approach the event. The Dark Skies rollout of Max Battles should help you focus on what you want, and we know the community wants to get after Eternamax Eternatus. The recap kicks off with Cozy Companions and Munchlax Hatch Day, which worked well at bringing together catching, grinding, and hatching. The six hour window took some pressure off and gave Trainers time to put in some kilometers. The rates for Shiny Munchlax were strong, so the event was generally well received. Sunday's Ultra Unlock: Origin Raid Day however, was the opposite. Early reports from New Zealand came through saying that the Shiny Rate wasn't boosted, with some Trainers throwing up triple digit Raid counts and walking away without a single Shiny. For us in the US, we typically don't worry about things that break early, as they tend to get fixed well before the Eastern Time Zone. Niantic Help put out a tweet stating that they have identified an issue regarding the Shiny rate during the event, but they unfortunately didn't mention anything about fixing it. The broken Shiny rate put a damper on enthusiasm and absolutely cut many Trainer's days short. What would have been the perfect six hour grind, quickly turned into scorned pockets of resentful Trainers. The Tweet stated that compensation was coming, but the conversation moved to what and how it would work. Trainers had already invested significant time and in some cases a lot of money into the event, so a makeup day would just mean they would have to reinvest. A packed calendar makes it hard to even fit another 6 hour event in. Could this come in Timed Research based on how many Raids you won? Time will tell! Jim Mickle, Director of STAKE LAND, WE ARE WHAT WE ARE & SWEET TOOTH

The Nick Taylor Horror Show

Play Episode Listen Later Aug 15, 2025 48:20

We got a great one today, someone I've wanted to have on the show since year 1. Jim  Mickle is in the house. Jim is a director and writer, known for his bold genre-blending style. After graduating from NYU's film program he made his directorial debut with the micro‑budget horror Mulberry Street (2006), followed by the vampire western Stake Land (2010). In 2013, he released his unsettling family cannibal remake (that legit gave me nightmares) We Are What We Are. Jim then ventured into noir-thriller territory with Cold in July (2014), starring Michael C. Hall and Don Johnson before transitioning to television by co-developing and directing SundanceTV's Hap and Leonard (2016–2018). He then created, produced, and directed the Netflix fantasy series Sweet Tooth (2021–).Jim has built a career on doing things his own way — often by learning things the hard way, but always with heart, vision, and grit.In this episode, Jim dives deep into the evolution of his career — from his early days making guerrilla style films to becoming a Netflix show runner. He discusses how he learned to navigate the TV industry, the painful transition from indie DIY to studio systems, and how the business has transformed for filmmakers over the last 20 years. He also gets into his longstanding mentorship with Larry Fessenden and much more on this very special episode of The Nick Taylor Horror Show.Key TakeawaysSet the Date — Make a Movie.Human psychology is complicated, but sometimes it's very simple. Just the act of picking a shoot date can mean everything. The moment you schedule a day to film something, your mind orients toward a tangible goal and the idea of filmmaking stops being a vague “someday” idea and becomes real, scheduled, and tangible. In 2005, Jim and his longtime collaborator set a hard deadline by which they'd start shooting something—even if it was just the two of them filming in a kitchen. That commitment led to Mulberry Street, a gritty, ultra-DIY feature shot in their own neighborhood with friends and minimal gear. It may not have been perfect—but it was finished. And it launched Jim. Sometimes, all you need to launch a career is a simple commitment in your Google Calendar.Find Your Fessenden.Larry Fessenden—who's been on this show in one of my all-time favorite episodes—is a prolific creator and mentor. Jim credits him as a key figure in his career and someone he reached out to early on for advice. That connection evolved into a long-standing creative partnership: Larry went on to produce several of Jim's films and helped him navigate both the craft of filmmaking and the maze of Hollywood. More than just a collaborator, Larry became a guiding presence—part mentor, part indie godfather—who shaped Jim's growth as a filmmaker. Every filmmaker stands to benefit from a relationship like that. So reach out to that filmmaker you really admire because you never know what may happen.Slow and Steady Wins the Race. After four indie features, Jim transitioned to television gradually — starting with Hap and Leonard (which nearly crushed him) before eventually helming Netflix's Sweet Tooth. Lured Up Podcast 357Live Streamed on - 8/5/25Publish Date - 8/9/25We hope your calendar is clear this month, because we have a non-stop barrage of events that will require more effort, more time, and even more dedication if you plan on staying ahead of the FOMO. We see the return of 6 hour daily events on top of an already hectic and unrelenting calendar throughout the month. With Max Finale being the highlight, the rest of the month keeps the momentum going strong, and offers a bit of everything. That being said, when is too much, too much? Our weekly recap touches on Adventure Week, Fossil Research Day, and Gigantamax Butterfree Max Battle Day. Sweet Storm brings us some fun Timed Research and Cozy Companions brings us two new dex entries and a new Shiny to chase. This weekend has 12 hours of reservation events happening while Cozy Companions looms over them, and tickets and Timed Research is packed in the shop. We truly hope you can sustain the mayhem!THis weekend gives some diverse gameplay with Munchlax Hatch Day, where the 5 hour window seems to make good sense, while Origin Raid Day, will keep us reaching into our pockets if we want to make the most of the event. With Scopely in the hot seat, the new monetization strategy isn't about the microtransactions and pop ups that we previously feared, but instead about an incredible amount of rotating, time sensitive products in the store that can drastically improve the playability of nearly every event. We put together a little Raid Guide and Battle Party for Origin Forme Palkia and Dialga, which depending on your group's numbers, may lend itself to some diverse and unique Battle Parties. While it will be easy to pack your party filled with Rayquaza, we encourage you instead to get creative and bring out some Pokémon that may not have seen the Raid arena yet. Make sure to tag us on Social with your parties or send us an email or text! After the break we did in to next season's save the date post, which includes an incredible amount of Raid Days. As mentioned earlier in the show, I think we all may need to adjust to Scopely's new normal, and either break the stigma of spending on digital goods or learn to have some restraint without triggering FOMO.Adventure WeekFossil Research DayGigantamax Butterfree Max Battle DaySweet SwarmCozy CompanionsMunchlax Hatch DayUltra Unlock: Origin Raid DayPokémon GO Hub Palkia Raid GuidePokémon GO Hub Dialga Raid GuideSave the DatesStay up to date by adding our Google Calendar to your account!LuredUp@PokemonProfessor.com    Voicemail and SMS: 732-835-8639 Use code FULLHEAL at https://tgacards.com/ for 10% off your order!Connect with us on multiple platforms! https://linktr.ee/PokemonProfessorNetwork HostsKen PescatoreAdam TuttleWriter and ProducerKen PescatoreExecutive Producer XanderShow music provided by GameChops and licensed through Creative Commons▾ FOLLOW GAMECHOPS ▾http://instagram.com/GameChopshttp://twitter.com/GameChopshttp://soundcloud.com/GameChopshttp://facebook.com/GameChopshttp://youtube.com/GameChopshttp://www.gamechops.comIntro MusicLake Verity (Drum & Bass Remix) TetracaseGameChops - Ultraballhttp://gamechops.com/ultraball/https://soundcloud.com/tetracase https://soundcloud.com/MegaFlare0Break MusicNational ParkMikel & GameChopsGameChops - Poké & Chillhttp://smarturl.it/pokechillhttps://twitter.com/mikel_beatsOutro MusicVast Poni CanyonCG5 & GlitchxCity (Future Bass Remix)GameChops - Ultraballhttp://gamechops.com/ultraball/ http://soundcloud.com/cg5-beatshttps://soundcloud.com/glitchxcityPokémon And All Respective Names are Trademark and © of Nintendo 1996-2025 Pokémon GO is Trademark and © of Niantic, Inc.Lured Up and the Pokémon Professor Network are not affiliated with Niantic Inc., The Pokémon Company, Game Freak or Nintendo.#pokemon #pokemongo #podcast

While we are at it, Happy Birthday to Professor Willow, who we hope one day will benefit from Trainers playing the game with sound on!Our weekly recap touches on how last weekend was very busy, with the aforementioned Summer Concert overarching over GMAX Battle Day for Lapras and Quaxly Community Day. We share our experience and get real for a moment to discuss Ken's weekend and how sometimes it is clear to see just how important this game is to us. While many of us wish we could be out there 24/7 on the grind, life sometimes has other plans that take priority. As always, finding balance to manage it all may be the most difficult part of this game. This weekend brings us DMAX Latios and Latias which will hopefully inspire at a minimum, small groups of 4 to get out there to take them down. With their being a pair of DMAX available, the Shiny hunt will surely be on as we grind through the event. With the Steel and Scales Ultra Unlock carrying us through, we still have the benefit of 4x Catch XP and Stardust, which will make a bunch of DMAX Battles very fruitful. We also have GMAX Butterfree on the horizon, which is keeping in line the importance of the Max Battle mechanic to the overall scope of the game.We finally have details on the Max Finale which has some Trainers scratching their heads. While we can battle Eternamax Eternatus in Max Battles, we won't be able to catch it. Instead, we will earn the much needed Candy and Candy XL for the one and only Eternatus encounter we will have as part of the Max Finale Go Pass. While keeping it cannon, it is still a departure from what we are used to when battling Raid or Max Battle bosses. It looks like Eternatus will be more like Zygarde or Zarude, where we will only have one in our inventory. Clearly, this will be a strong contender for the next Golden Bottle Cap that comes around.Summer ConcertGigantamax Lapras Max Battle DayCommunity Day: Quaxly DMAX Latios & LatiasAdventure WeekGigantamax Butterfree Max Battle DayRookidee Community DayGO Fest: Max FinaleStay up to date by adding our Google Calendar to your account!LuredUp@PokemonProfessor.com    Voicemail and SMS: 732-835-8639 Use code FULLHEAL at https://tgacards.com/ for 10% off your order!Connect with us on multiple platforms! https://linktr.ee/PokemonProfessorNetwork HostsKen PescatoreAdam TuttleWriter and ProducerKen PescatoreExecutive Producer XanderShow music provided by GameChops and licensed through Creative Commons▾ FOLLOW GAMECHOPS ▾http://instagram.com/GameChopshttp://twitter.com/GameChopshttp://soundcloud.com/GameChopshttp://facebook.com/GameChopshttp://youtube.com/GameChopshttp://www.gamechops.comIntro MusicLake Verity (Drum & Bass Remix) TetracaseGameChops - Ultraballhttp://gamechops.com/ultraball/https://soundcloud.com/tetracase https://soundcloud.com/MegaFlare0Break MusicNational ParkMikel & GameChopsGameChops - Poké & Chillhttp://smarturl.it/pokechillhttps://twitter.com/mikel_beatsOutro MusicVast Poni CanyonCG5 & GlitchxCity (Future Bass Remix)GameChops - Ultraballhttp://gamechops.com/ultraball/ http://soundcloud.com/cg5-beatshttps://soundcloud.com/glitchxcityPokémon And All Respective Names are Trademark and © of Nintendo 1996-2025 Pokémon GO is Trademark and © of Niantic, Inc.Lured Up and the Pokémon Professor Network are not affiliated with Niantic Inc., The Pokémon Company, Game Freak or Nintendo.#pokemon #pokemongo #podcast

It's ask yourself very clearly, like, why haven't I done this? What has been in the way? Is this actually something I still want to do? Can I actually do it and then set new measurable goals, set new milestones and make it happen. Lesley Logan 0:14  Welcome to the Be It Till You See It podcast where we talk about taking messy action, knowing that perfect is boring. I'm Lesley Logan, Pilates instructor and fitness business coach. I've trained thousands of people around the world and the number one thing I see stopping people from achieving anything is self-doubt. My friends, action brings clarity and it's the antidote to fear. Each week, my guest will bring bold, executable, intrinsic and targeted steps that you can use to put yourself first and Be It Till You See It. It's a practice, not a perfect. Let's get started. Lesley Logan 0:53  Welcome back to the Be It Till You See It interview recap where my co-host in life, Brad, and I are going to dig into the purposeful convo I had with Wendee Close in our last episode. If you haven't yet listened to that interview, feel free to listen to that one first, then come back and listen to this one, or listen to this one and see if you agree with what we liked about that one. It's your choice. That's what's really important about the Be It Till You See It podcast, you choose. You choose how you want to listen. Today is July 17th. Brad Crowell 1:22  You choose very closely. Lesley Logan 1:23  Yeah, I hope you like that, Wendee. I'm sure she hasn't heard that before. It's like, my mom's last name growing up was Friesen, and like, she was super tall, so they would always go, how is the weather up there? Is it Friesen? Right, like, wow. I know kids are clever and cruel. Anyways, that's, I don't know why that popped in my head. Welcome to ADHD. So today is July 17th 2025 and it's National Tattoo Day. It was also another day, but obviously I have to pick this one, tattooing, the art of inserting pigment under the dermis layer of the skin. Brad Crowell 2:00  In case you didn't know. Lesley Logan 2:01  To create a decorative, symbolic or pictorial design or just a sticker on your body, permanent sticker on your body. Brad Crowell 2:01  Permanent sticker on your body. Lesley Logan 2:06  How I like to think of it. And on National Tattoo Day, July 17th, we set time aside to learn more about the tattooing process. It's a societal importance and history. Okay, here we go.Brad Crowell 2:17  I didn't know that. I'm in on societal importance. Lesley Logan 2:20  You guys, in case you don't understand the process of picking which day, it really is like what title speaks to us, and then we learn about the day as we read about it with you on air, and that someday could become problematic, but we'll edit it out then I guess you'll never know. So if you don't have a tattoo, you likely, or you're likely, to know someone who does. And if you've asked them how they knew at the time when they were getting inked whether they would still want that design on their skin years or decades later, you may have just gotten a peculiar look instead of an explanation. There is a certainly a fraternal connection between people who bear tattoos, a connection that those without ink can never really understand. We asked one correspondent to try address this phenomenon. He said, tattoos began as a ceremony, and they're still kind of like that. Once you're in an artist's needle, it's like a little it's a little like a religious experience. It's like the aha moment people talk about having in a business life. It illuminates something you didn't see before. I don't understand any of that. That doesn't resonate with me in any. Brad Crowell 3:15  Yeah, me neither. Lesley Logan 3:16  So first of all, I overthought my first tattoo, way too much. Brad Crowell 3:20  I mean, took me 15 years to get my first tattoo, because of the same thing. Lesley Logan 3:25  15 years from when you're 18 or like?Brad Crowell 3:29  Yeah, yeah, I didn't get one. So I guess that's not true. I wanted to get a tattoo in my teens. My parents said no, but I started designing it in my teens. Lesley Logan 3:38  Okay, okay. Brad Crowell 3:39  And then I didn't actually get one until 30 years old.Lesley Logan 3:45  Yeah, I got my first one on a blind date.Brad Crowell 3:48  You got one on a blind date? Lesley Logan 3:50  Yeah, we wanted something to do. Brad Crowell 3:52  Wow. Lesley Logan 3:53  I know. Brad Crowell 3:53  This is the first time I'm hearing this story, y'all. Do tell. Lesley Logan 3:57  Anyways. Brad Crowell 3:58  How'd that go? Lesley Logan 3:59  I never saw that person again. And I covered up that tattoo after I left my ex with the cherry blossoms that we then added on to, and then I just got others. Because once you get the first one, you kind of start to just get other ones and.Brad Crowell 4:21  Well, the hurdle has been left, you know, like, you're, you're, there's this weird mental block of like, I don't know if I want to keep that thing on my body forever. And then after, after you get your first one, you realize no one actually gives a shit. And then also you're like yeah, you know.Lesley Logan 4:38  We speaking on podcast or proponents for tattoos? Brad Crowell 4:39  Yeah, I'm not. I'm not that worried about it either. Because here's the other thing, you can also change the tattoo or you can cover the tattoo or you can remove the tattoo.Lesley Logan 4:50  Or you can remove it. Keith Davidson removed all of his tattoos. He is a complete blank slate. Google it right now. Brad Crowell 4:55  No way. Lesley Logan 4:56  Google it right now, because I thought for sure, it's AI and people were saying it's AI, and he has done actual interviews about it, and he there's no way it's makeup. He has, he spent $200,000 getting them all removed. And I thought that's all it costs to cover remove his entire body. Brad Crowell 5:12  I mean, he had a he had. Lesley Logan 5:13  His whole head to toe, like he was so covered. So anyways, our neighbor is shout out to Brieanna, Viva Vanish skincare, she actually removes tattoos. So like, to me, you could just remove it, right? Or you could cover it up, but you, you, you do overthink the first ones, and then you kind of just get them, and they just become part of you. Also, I've gotten, like, my dream catcher, my dream catcher tattoo. It is really funny. When I got it. Remember this, Brad, I got the dream catcher tattoo. It takes up my whole fucking arm. We came back from Cambodia.Brad Crowell 5:48  Upper arm, shoulder down to elbow. Lesley Logan 5:49  Yeah, shoulder to my elbow. We come back from Cambodia and, like, literally, no one notices. Like, no one notices. And I'm starting to think that like it, people don't like it, you know, and all this stuff. And so I'm, like, starting to make this through my head, and then someone who I've never met in person, they only know me through social media. I was at an event, and they're like, oh my god, is that a new tattoo? And I said, it is. Thank you. I just got it, I just got it right. And other people are like, that's new. And I'm like, yeah, there are people who, like, have known me for years, and I'm like, they're like, well, you're just, like, a person with tattoos. You just have tattoos. So anyways, all I had to say is, you know, I saw a reel or a meme. It was just like, tattoos are just stickers for adults. And, like, we like pretty things.Brad Crowell 6:32  I'm in on that. And I was looking up the Pete Davidson thing still, and I found something really interesting. He did an interview with Variety, why he decided to remove all of his tattoos, and apparently he's not removed every single one, but he's removed the majority. He said, on deciding to remove his tattoos, I used to be a drug addict and I was a sad person, and I felt ugly and that I needed to be covered up, and I didn't. And I don't think there's anything wrong with tattoos, but mine, when I look at them, I remember a sad person that was very unsure, so just removing them and starting fresh, because that's what I think works best for me with my brain. When I look at them in the mirror, I don't want the reminder of, oh yeah, you were a fucking drug addict. Like, that's why you have a Sponge Bob smoking a joint on your back. So good for him. Lesley Logan 7:18  Oh, I love that. But see, that's the thing. You can just remove it. So, you know.Brad Crowell 7:22  I mean, it's a process, but it can be removed. It's money and time, yeah. Lesley Logan 7:26  You know what? There's a lot of things you could spend your money on. I, don't get something you don't want. But also like. You. Brad Crowell 7:33  I like, I mean there's definitely sentimentality around the tattoos that that I have, have put thought into them. It hasn't been just like, on a whim, but also, too, the more like, as you get after you get your first one, the second one, the decision to get it was, like, much faster than the first one. Lesley Logan 7:52  Well, I also just want to say, like, you don't have to get them, and it's also fine if you get them and don't over, like, don't overthink it so much because it, because you kind of make it perfect and, like, you're trying to get all perfect. And it's, it's, like, it's, there's no judgment either way, like, you're gonna, life will go on. Brad Crowell 8:10  Well, we are very big proponents of ink and tattoos. We think they're really fun and cool. Lesley Logan 8:15  If it's part of your personality, like, and also, like, I don't, I don't think I remember my parents saying, you like, oh, you're gonna be so judged. You'll never get a job, like, that has never happened to me one time, and I have tattoos all over my hands and like, no one notices. Brad Crowell 8:17  Yeah, yeah. Lesley Logan 8:17  You know. So most of them are for me anyways, because when I have to look at myself in the mirror all the time, and I have to, like, look at what I do, like, or on a camera live all the time, and I'm like, I just want something to look at that's not just my family. Just my face. Like, I'm so tired of looking at my own face, I would like to see something else. So that was really a lot of it for me. Anyways. Brad Crowell 8:50  Anyways. Lesley Logan 8:52  Back to this podcast (inaudible) coming up. So, today we actually kick off Agency Mini 11. That's happening right now. Brad Crowell 9:01  Right now. Right now. If you'd have no idea what that means, and you were like, I need in on this, go to prfit.biz/mini. That's profit without the O dot biz slash mini. Lesley Logan 9:10  It's for Pilates instructors and fitness instructors who want to improve their business and attract clients that actually want to teach and make the money they want to make. So that sounds like you. You do want to sign up for this because the next one with our calendar, if it's possible being Q1 of next year.Brad Crowell 9:25  Yeah, we're, we've been literally, like, tentatively looking at February. Lesley Logan 9:25  Yeah and it could be the end of February. Brad Crowell 9:30  So it's not, we're not doing another one, we're not doing another one this year. And, and honestly, it's a killer program. So, and it's also not expensive, you should definitely do it.Lesley Logan 9:40  62.50 sign up today. Three days. First couple days of replays. There you go. All right. Then we are now really in the countdown of our Summer Tour the van has.Brad Crowell 9:52  We leave next week. Lesley Logan 9:54  I know the van has a new look. We have a huge tour going on. We have so many cities that are sold out. So many people are we're so excited to see in person for the first time, some we were seeing in person for the third or fourth time. We can't even wait. It's powered by Balanced Body, which means we actually bring some of the Contrology equipment with us. You can try it out. We have amazing prizes from them to give out, we're bringing Bayon. So it's opc.me/tour and then you can see all the different cities. And some of these cities, you are easily drivable. We have people who are coming to two cities, so you can do that too. Also, if you're having a little FOMO that we're not coming to a city anywhere in driving distance near you. And I just want to remind you, we are driving for several thousands of miles so you can drive a few hundred. Brad Crowell 10:38  Yeah, you can, it's okay, come join us. Lesley Logan 10:38  But it's like, if that's not an option, the Calgary event is a virtual event. And so it's in-person, of course, but there's virtual seats that are available, and they're limited. So you can get those at opc.me/tour, just pick the Calgary event. And then we come back.Brad Crowell 10:48  That's, I just want to call that again, if you weren't listening, we have virtual tickets for the summer tour for two workshops. Lesley Logan 10:51  Yeah, we've never done that before. Brad Crowell 10:56  Go to opc.me/calgary. To go directly to where you find them. Opc.me/calgary. Cool.Lesley Logan 11:05  Yeah. And then we come back rest up, unpack, repack, because we're going from summer to Scotland's fall, and we are going to be in the UK. We'll be in Leeds and in Essex. Brad Crowell 11:17  Yeah, we're running out of seats over there, y'all. It's exciting.Lesley Logan 11:19  Yeah, oh yeah. It's, well, at the time we're recording every time someone buys, it's like, this is, this stock is low. It's like, low it is. So Leeds only has a couple spots. Essex, we are offering day passes there, but every time someone buys a two-day pass, we run out of two-day passes. That's how that goes. So because it's a week during the week, because it's not nice, like, you can go to a whole workshop day during the weeks, plus, like, a vacation during the week, so go to opc.me/uk, I've had a ton of people going come do a tour in the UK. I'm like, I am, you guys, I'm coming in September. And we have a ton of our workshops that are happening at these locations. You can even do both locations. There's only like one workshop that overlaps, so opc.me/uk and then we'll come back at a couple weeks later, we go to Chicago for P.O.T., and then we go to Cambodia on our retreat. And it's not too late for you to sign up for our retreat for Cambodia, because we just bought our plane tickets.Brad Crowell 12:11  We just bought our plane tickets, and also we just had another person sign up, you know, so there's still time, absolutely, it's not like, you know, the plane tickets aren't getting overly crazy right now, which is nice. So pop in, come join us. Go to crows nest retreats.com. It's going to be a pretty small group this time, so I'll tell you (inaudible). Lesley Logan 12:11  If you don't like big crowds, it's the time to come, because I can't promise you it'll be a small group every time. In fact, I know 2026 has a ton of people, so you're gonna want to do this one because we'll have more time together. It's a lot of fun, and you can always come a day early or stay a day late.Brad Crowell 12:47  Well, we would encourage you to stay a day late, because we actually have two events that we can't include, quote-unquote, in the retreat. I mean, those events include going to see an elephant sanctuary, yeah. And then the second event is a waterfall excursion. And the reality is they're both just like, like, longer events that we couldn't fit into the flow of the actual retreat. Lesley Logan 13:08  Full day events, and also, like, especially the waterfall, we have to have a smaller group weather permitting, you know, all that stuff. So that's why they're extra so and on the extra days, and we're going to do them before we leave, so you should come, crowsnestretreats.com. Okay, we have a ton to talk about with Wendee, but we have an audience question.Brad Crowell 13:26  We sure do. @BrendaHornung1990 on YouTube asks, can I put a reformer in our garage? I'm in the southeast. So does it, so it does get hot in the summer southeast, probably like Georgia or Florida? I think I'd be more worried about the humidity. Lesley Logan 13:46  Good job, Brad, good job. Brad Crowell 13:48  Unless you've got a Contrology Reformer, which won't, you don't have to worry about the humidity as much. Yeah, there's no wood that's going to warp, right? Lesley Logan 13:55  Correct, because that's the thing. So, so the thing so one, I don't know which Reformer you're looking at that makes a difference. Two, so if you get a Balanced Body Reformer, that's wood, like a studio reformer, you have to worry about humidity for the wood. However, their springs have a coating on them, so you don't have to worry about the springs resting, whereas the Contrology, it's aluminum. And so you don't know. Lesley Logan 14:21  Or an Allegro 2. Lesley Logan 14:22  Yeah, yeah, yeah, you could do that. Brad Crowell 14:22  Allegro 2 is also aluminum. Lesley Logan 14:22  Yeah, so, uh, is it aluminum? I thought it's fiberglass. No, no, it's metal, I know, but is it alluminum, I don't think it's, it's white. Brad Crowell 14:34  Yeah, it's, it's aluminum. It's definitely not, it's not fiberglass. Lesley Logan 14:37  Really? We should (inaudible).Brad Crowell 14:37  It's definitely not fiberglass.Lesley Logan 14:37  Anyway.Brad Crowell 14:37  100% not fiberglass. Lesley Logan 14:37  Well, Brad is gonna, Brad is gonna, it's a prefab. I know that it's like the way they make it, anyways, the Contrology. I have friends who have them in Hawaii.Brad Crowell 14:50  Powder-coated aluminum. Lesley Logan 14:51  Okay, there you go. Brad was paying attention on the tour, not me. Anyways.Brad Crowell 14:57  I've also picked them up. I know what they freaking are. Lesley Logan 14:59  Yeah. So the Contrology, my friend has in Hawaii, and the frame is great. Nothing goes on there. Doesn't even rust, but the springs, well, you have to clean the springs, right? So. Brad Crowell 15:12  That's right. Yeah. I forgot about that. That's great. It's exactly the same, like, environment with humidity.Lesley Logan 15:18  I so I worry more about humidity anywhere. And then when it comes to, just, like, the hotness, I mean, obviously it's gonna pin like, are you gonna want to lay on a hot Reformer bed? Because it's gonna like, like, it's like, sitting on your car when the car's hot.Brad Crowell 15:34  Well, here's the thing, you can actually regulate the temperature inside your garage. Lesley Logan 15:37  Yeah, if you can, yeah, then I would do that. Brad Crowell 15:39  In Cambodia, we have these wall units for, like, air air conditioning. Lesley Logan 15:44  Yeah, I love this idea. We're helping you out, Brenda, so get a wall unit, and then I probably. Brad Crowell 15:49  Yeah, they're called a they're called, there's a specific term for them. What are they called? They're not a window unit. They're a wall unit. Oh, they call it a split, mini split. Lesley Logan 16:03  A mini split. Brad Crowell 16:03  Mini split. So that way, what it does is it actually takes the big air conditioning part of it that, like, you know, is loud and noisy, and it actually is outside, yeah, but then the inside is just a little wall.Lesley Logan 16:15  They're amazing. They're so quiet. The other thing I would just say is, like, I've never experienced this thing. I've never had to purchase one in my life. But a dehumidifier is something you can also purchase. I saw one in Brad's uncle's basement. I was like, what is this thing? He said, a dehumidifier. I'm like, I only know about humidifiers. Clearly, that's where I've lived in the world. So you can have a dehumidifier, and then that would make your equipment last a long time as well. Brad Crowell 16:39  That's true. Lesley Logan 16:40  Just something to note that, like Naugahyde and your leather straps, you know, those things can be affected by the weather. So if, again, if it's hot, cold, like, you're just gonna want to find a way to stabilize the environment a little bit so that it, you can have it for years, because that's all I want to make sure, like, we didn't leave my Reformer around the heat. I think my extra Reformers out in the in the garage for, like, in the shed for like, a year, but it was in a box protected. And then we're like, we got to get that in. That's probably not so great for it. So. Brad Crowell 17:07  Yeah, just because the the Naugahyde will eventually become brittle. Lesley Logan 17:10  I think the leather straps would also become, they would dry out as well because, like, they stay healthy because of the oils of the skin. So anyway.Brad Crowell 17:18  I just also found out that a mini split is, it's called a mini split because it's heating and cooling. Brad Crowell 17:24  Oh, well, there you go. Brenda. Show us the pictures of your garage with your new Reformer in it. Brad Crowell 17:24  You're amazing. Lesley Logan 17:24  You guys. If you want to ask us any questions, they don't have to be about Pilates, they can be about anything. You'll, you just have to go to beitpod.com/questions. You can also send us your wins. We can celebrate you. And you can hear about your wins on a day that you need to because they always happen to land on the day. You're like, my life isn't working. And then you hear a win you had, and you're like, Oh my God, it was, I just forgot.Brad Crowell 17:47  Stick around. We'll be right back. Brad Crowell 17:49  All right. Welcome back. Let's talk about Wendee Close. Wendee is the founder and CEO of Goals2Life, a personal development platform designed to help individuals create and achieve meaningful goals through detailed planning and execution. It's quite a comprehensive platform. It's actually kind of amazing. After 27 years in the B2C industry, she pivoted into the tech world to build a purpose driven SaaS platform aimed at transforming how people bring their aspirations to life. SaaS stands for software as a service. So the like a SaaS platform would be like Gmail or Google Calendar. That's a SaaS platform. In this case, she's making a tool that is software that'll help you bring your aspirations to life for real, known for her resourcefulness and her get it done attitude, Wendee now helps ground people break through burnout and overwhelm by aligning their goals with their values. And I think for her, that was, like, legit, because she was like, doing she and her husband had started a business that could she do it? Yes. Was she really good at it? Yes. Did it light her fire? No. Should she have been doing it? No, right. But she did it for decades, right? And after all that time, and they really did well, she still was like, I kind of don't like what I'm doing, yeah. And so that's what caused the shift to start this platform, you know, effectively starting a second career after her kids have flown the coop. She they're empty nesters now. So, you know, she's, she's definitely tackling a huge project. Lesley Logan 19:30  Bird launcher. Brad Crowell 19:30  She's a bird launcher. Lesley Logan 19:32  Yeah, I like, I know I said on the podcast, if not, I said her face. I am, like, immensely impressed that she has taken on this project because, like, it's so, like, I had no idea what starting OPC like, how much effort it is to have a platform like OPC. Like it is the amount of work we have to do on a daily basis for OPC is the amount of people who work on that site to keep everything. So like, when she was, when she talks, she's like, oh my God, that is the biggest project in the world. Like, I was just like, sitting there, from the experience of it, and she doesn't even see it as difficult. I mean, like, of course there's difficult times, there's hard days, but she always is like, excited for the challenge. And like, she takes it in, and then she figures out who she has to talk to to make it happen. And so anyways, one thing she said that I love, and I think it is why she can do what she's doing and take on this mountain of an amazing business, is when the vision is clear, you become it. So she is like, even though the project is still being built out and it works. She has tons of clients and tons of customers and tons of companies that work with it, but it was something that she's continuing to build and perfect and do. She isn't waiting for it to be ready to go out there and talk about it. She's talking about it because she's it.Brad Crowell 20:54  She's been talking about it, I mean, you know, before it was even ready to go. She understood what she was building, who it was going to help, and was out there sharing it with the world.Lesley Logan 21:04  I mean, if you haven't listened the episode, you have to, because it's truly a Be It Till You See It like it is, she is not waiting for the project to be ready for someone to deem the project ready for anything like that. She's like, I'm going to go out there, I'm going to talk about it and the questions I get and the things people need are going to help me make it even better. And that's what we are always trying to tell people to do inside of Agency as well. She said, when you believe in what you're doing, it becomes, it becomes easy to show up and say, this is who I am and this is what I'm doing. The vision is so strong, you live it. And I think, like, a lot of us, are sitting in the place where she was before in that B2C thing. Maybe you're not B2C but, like, was she good at it? Yes. Can she do it? Yes. It didn't light her up. And so I think a lot of people are struggling with, like, preaching, preaching out loud and and boasting about the thing they're doing because it's not the thing they really want to be doing. So they're not as excited. She is so excited about this. Every time I talk to her, I'm like, excited about what I do. Like, somehow, like, it reminds me this is why I do what I do.Brad Crowell 22:06  She lights everybody on fire. You know, I bet you, too, that all the things that she learned with her first business on, she managed a team. She, you know, worked with clients. She, you know, understood how to do every aspect of that business. There's like a direct translation for what she's doing now, even though it's a different project and a different product and a different goal, the skills she learned from the first one are absolutely setting her up to excel at this in What? What? So much faster, so much faster.Lesley Logan 22:42  Well, and also, like, every single even if the thing you want to do is something you were never trained to do, every skill that you've acquired along your journey is transferable. It's all. Brad Crowell 22:51  Story of my life. Lesley Logan 22:52  Yeah, it's really all so transferable. And there, most of the jobs that I well, the job that I currently have, there's, like, not like a degree in it. So, yeah, like, I think, like, we're all like, where's the checklist to go check? There isn't one. So get your vision clear and then talk about it. Don't be afraid to talk about it, because, just because people question it or and they might not be as excited as you, their questions help you deliver what you do better. You know? When we first started about OPC versus how we talk about it now, very different based on the questions we got from the way we talk about it, you know, like, so.Brad Crowell 23:28  Class starts at six. I think we even said that. I'm sure it was, like, new class on Tuesday. I really loved when she was talking about clarity and resourcefulness and her reminder about it, specifically around asking for help, right? She has no qualms to reach out to people and ask for help. She is very excited about what it is that she's doing, and because she knows what she's building, it gives her enthusiasm, right, and courage. And then when she goes and she asks someone for help, even if they say no, it doesn't matter. It doesn't deflate her enthusiasm. But because she has that, she can ask for help in a way that is compelling people actually want to help her. She said, every single day, I'm like, I don't know how to do the thing that I'm gonna do today. But what do I want to do? I want to impact lives. So she has a bigger goal. Like, for example, the conversation you were having was about going live on Instagram. She's like, I'm not a techie, you know, social media user, but I'm willing to learn this thing, even if I fail at it, if I fall flat on my face. Because if I can go live with someone today, and it's got to further my actual goal, which is impacting people's lives. And she said she just, she encourages everyone to just be, learn to be as resourceful as you can. Right? And she said, if you're honest and transparent about where you are and what you're trying to do, others will help you do it.Lesley Logan 25:03  Yeah, they will. They because they get excited. Because you're excited. People want to be part of the party. People want to be part of, that is how, for better or worse, people get involved in organizations like you know, they want it. I read the book Careless, careless people about Facebook and, oh, guys, it's a book worth, and if I could get her on, I would, but she's not doing any touring right now, but it's she talks about why she got involved with Facebook and why she was pushing for it to be around the world, because she want, she want to be part of the vision of connecting people, yeah, and helping people have all these and I know that's like the worst example, but also like getting so excited about your thing that people get excited to be part of your life, because they'll want to connect with the right people too, whether or not they can help you, like, Oh, I know, so and so. And then they're so excited about what you're doing when they talk about this to their friend, there's a trust transference, and all of a sudden you have the connections you need, you know. So no one gets to get their goals all done by themselves. It just doesn't happen that way. You want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.Brad Crowell 26:10  Well, yes, very enthusiastically delivered there. Oh, you mean that old thing. Okay, dad. That's hilarious. All right, well, if you are looking for some, Be It Action Items, stick around, because we're going to dig into those when we come back. Brad Crowell 26:33  Okay, finally, let's dig into those Be It Action Items that we had with our conversation with Wendee Close. What bold, executable, intrinsic or targeted action items can we take away from your convo? I'm gonna go first, because she actually went down all four like, right away, which is pretty awesome.Lesley Logan 26:53  Whenever anyone does that, I'm like, oh, you took the assignment to the next level.Brad Crowell 26:58  She did. She did. She said, hey, here's what's bold, own your next level identity, right? She encourages you to ask, what would my future self do right now, today, in this instance, and then take that action from your future you, right? And she said, that's super bold, you know, like, know where you're going, know what you're trying to do, and then you know, if you're faced with a tough decision, would you, would you choose yourself make decision A or decision B, right? And then she said, executable, take small intentional steps every single day, small intentional steps, right? Breaking down big goals into micro movements. And then ask, what's one step that I can take today, right now, and then go do that step. In fact, that's like half of what Goals2Life is is literally the execution element of it, because what they help you do is map out your goals and then figure out how to do them, actually, how to bring them to life, right? Lesley Logan 27:56  Yeah. You just, that's where the name came from. Brad Crowell 28:00  Goals2Life. That's where the name came from. Intrinsic. Align your goals with your purpose. Align your goals with purpose. She said, What? Ask yourself, why does this even matter to me? Like, if you have a goal of, let's say, doing a 5k race, you know. Why does this matter to you? Why you know do the seven layers of why you know, what is it that you're actually trying to do here? And then, when your goals are tied to your values, your commitment will deepen. So you need to understand what your values are. And then we need to find goals that are going to tie it all together. So, intrinsic. Align your goals with your purpose, targeted, set clear, measurable milestones, replace vague hopes with tangible outcomes. Ask yourself, how will I measure the progress? We would suggest deadlines. Deadlines actually give yourself by this time I will do this thing, you know, or by this time I will, I will have this finished or this piece, piece of it accomplished. Because then it gives you targets. Lesley Logan 29:06  I just talked to Agency members about this. I said, if with, like, you know, we're halfway through the year, right? And it's like, if you reflect on your goals, you wanted to have done this year, what you want to have done by now, and you're like, oh my God, I didn't hit the name. It's like, well, it's, don't beat yourself up, it's ask yourself very clearly, like, why haven't I done this? What has been in the way? Is this actually something I still want to do? Can I actually do it and then set new measurable goals, set new milestones and make it happen? You know? So I believe in those I love a deadline. Brad Crowell 29:35  Love a deadline. Yeah. What about you?Lesley Logan 29:37  Okay, so she said, and this goes back to what I was just saying, so I'll just translate. If something's a priority, if it's a goal, it needs to be on your calendar. And that's where a lot of people make mistakes. They're like, Oh, I'm gonna do this thing, but they don't even set aside time, like in my calendar. If you look at my calendar, it'll say, write this thing, do this thing, call this person. It is in my calendar. So there's not like, Oh, here's my three things I wanna get done today. And. I have a wide open day. No, every single work day is like it's full because I have now, of course, I can move things, if something comes up or whatever, but then it gets moved because if it's in your calendar, you'll reschedule it. So that's what's really important. She said, if it's not in your calendar, it's not a priority. And she didn't mention time blocking. I'm big fan of time blocking. I actually talk a lot about how we teach Agency members how to time block so that they actually move the needle forward in their business. She also said this is really important. She said she was talking about her burnout. She said no amount of movement, water, nutrition or meditation can make up for the lack of sleep, so sleep should be right there at the very top. And I think that is the most important thing. It's something I always talk about. When you come on a retreat to Cambodia, we actually like put your dream schedule together, and the first thing you actually put in there is when do you go to bed, and when do you wake up? It's your dream schedule. It's not your current sleep schedule. It's like what you desire to have as a sleep schedule. And it's the most one of the most important things to do is work towards that, because you cannot, like, biohack your way out of sleep you didn't get. Maybe one day, maybe two days, but you can't do it 365 days. Not gonna happen.Brad Crowell 31:16  Wendee and I definitely connected on that, because both of us just didn't leave ourselves sleep time or permission to sleep. And so, you know, definitely impacted me through college for sure, you know. And even today, you know, it's still a decision to make sure that that is a priority, But yeah, I love it. I mean, you know, Wendee is one of the most magnetic people that you'll ever met. Like when she walks into a room, you know it, whether she meant you to know it or not, you know it. And her enthusiasm for and her vision for her business, for Goals2Life, is contagious. And, you know, I think the product is, it's really amazing, and helping people actually move forward, instead of feeling stuck. And, you know, I'm excited, so y'all should go check it out. Goals2Life. The number two, Goals2Life.com, we'll put that link in the show notes, for sure, yeah. But yeah, if you haven't gone back yet, go listen to Wendee. She's amazing. Yeah, go listen to why we love her so much. Lesley Logan 32:25  Okay, I'm Lesley Logan. Brad Crowell 32:25  And I'm Brad Crowell. Lesley Logan 32:25  Thank you so much for listening to this podcast.
