In this episode of Connected Parenting, we dive into a powerful visual and verbal tool that helps kids regulate their behavior and emotions called the "Stoplight Technique" (also known as Red Light, Green Light). As parents, one of our greatest challenges is guiding our kids through big feelings and impulsive behavior without losing our own cool. That's where this simple yet effective method comes in.Listen in to hear me explain how the stoplight framework teaches children cause and effect, emotional regulation, and personal accountability, all in a way that's age-appropriate and easy to apply at home or in the classroom. It gives them a clear visual anchor to understand what's expected, and when things need to pause or shift. You'll also learn how to modify the strategy for teenagers (because let's be honest, a red light chart on the fridge might not go over so well at 15), and why this tool can be just as helpful for you as the parent.Whether your child struggles with emotional outbursts, transitions, or impulsive behavior, this episode offers a compassionate, practical way to build emotional intelligence together.Jennifer's Takeaways:Red Light, Green Light Technique Overview (00:00)Explanation of Red Light, Green Light Behaviors (01:05)Handling Yellow Light Behaviors (03:01)Applying the Technique to Teenagers (06:57)Using the Technique for Consistency and Flexibility (11:36)Meet Jennifer KolariJennifer Kolari is the host of the “Connected Parenting” weekly podcast and the co-host of “The Mental Health Comedy” podcast. The Los Angeles-based artist Laurie Lipton shares why she's drawn obsessively since age four, how she invented her "insane" cross-hatching technique studying Dutch Masters in Europe, and how waitressing paid the rent so she could draw. After 36 years abroad, she says she returned to Los Angeles to find America rolled back to 1955. Practice the Ground arc—releasing anxiety by returning to your body and the present moment. This episode teaches a simple, science-supported breathing practice called Anchor Breath (inhale 4, exhale 6–8) designed to calm stress arousal by extending the exhale and signaling safety to the nervous system. You'll hear a relatable story about morning anxiety and learn how to use grounding in everyday transitions—before your phone, before difficult conversations, and whenever your thoughts start to spiral. If you've been feeling scattered, tense, or mentally "up in the air," this episode will help you land in steadiness again—one breath at a time. Technique used: Anchor Breath (4 in / 6–8 out) x 8 rounds Best time to practice: mornings, evenings, before transitions, before stressful interactions Intention: release anxious urgency and reconnect to calm presence This is day 3 of a 7-day meditation series, "Anxiety Alchemy Week," episodes 3451-3457. ABOUT THIS WEEK'S MEDITATION JOURNEY: Welcome to The Anxiety Alchemy Week—a 7-day meditation series designed to help you release anxiety and transform that restless, buzzing energy into calm clarity and steady confidence. Each day, you'll be guided through a simple, body-based practice—breathwork, visualization, and gentle mindfulness—so you can soothe your nervous system, quiet spiraling thoughts, and feel more grounded in real life (not just during meditation). Think of this week as a soft return to yourself: less bracing, less overthinking, and more ease in your body, your choices, and your day. THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGE - "Anxiety Reset Que Challenge" Choose one daily "reset cue"—each time you touch a door handle, open your phone, or sit down, take one long exhale (or one round of your day's breath). Track it with 7 checkmarks (one per day) and notice the moment your body starts to relax faster—proof your nervous system is learning. THIS WEEK'S MEDITATION JOURNEY Day 1: Anxiety Reset Visualization Day 2: Affirmation: "I trust myself to meet this moment." Day 3: Anchor Breathing: inhale 4, exhale 6–8, repeat 8 rounds. (If 6–8 feels too long, do 4 in / 5 out.) Day 4: Prithi Mudra for clarity Day 5: Third Chakra for compassion Day 6: Anxiety Reset Flow meditation, combining the week's techniques Day 7: Weekly review meditation and closure SHARE YOUR MEDITATION JOURNEY WITH YOUR FELLOW MEDITATORS Let's connect and inspire each other! Josh Safdie's Marty Supreme transports audiences to a vibrant 1950s world of professional ping pong, yet many viewers remain unaware that the film contains over 500 visual effects shots. Eran Dinur, the film's VFX Supervisor, reveals how his team meticulously recreated period accurate crowds in Tokyo and Wembley while keeping the digital work entirely "invisible." He views his role as a bridge between the filmmaker's vision and the technical reality on set, ensuring that every digital element supports the story without drawing attention to itself. For Eran, the ultimate compliment is a viewer who walks out of the theater believing every single frame was captured in camera. The transition into high end visual effects was an unlikely one for Eran, who spent fifteen years as a classical music composer before a random software download steered him toward ILM and eventually the Safdie Brothers. This musical background provides a unique perspective on the rhythm and "choreography" of effects, whether he is timing CG ping pong balls to Timothée Chalamet's performance or animating the surreal openings of Uncut Gems. Beyond the technical craft, he addresses the current industry backlash against CGI and the marketing trends that prioritize "practical only" narratives. He also offers a practical look at the future of AI in cinema, arguing that tools are only as good as the control an artist has over them. Send us a textSo much of birth preparation focuses on what to do — how to breathe, how to move, how to plan. But none of that works if a woman doesn't trust herself. In this episode, I'm sharing my Ten Commandments of Birth and explaining why I believe inner work is the missing piece in so much birth preparation. I talk honestly about what I've seen shift in women since creating Discover Your North Star, and why no breathing technique can undo years of self-doubt.This episode is about preparation that goes deeper than checklists and protocols — preparation that changes how a woman meets her birth, whatever path it takes.✨ The Ten Commandments of Birth (PDF) - Download here I've created this as a reflective, practical guide to support the inner work I talk about in this episode. STOP wasting money on detailing gear that gathers dust. In today's episode, I'm stripping away the "ego buys" and showing you the 6 expensive tools you should NEVER buy—and the things you should invest in immediately to get pro results. Most detailers go broke before they even get their first client because they buy gear they only use twice a year. If you want to run a profitable business (or just have the cleanest car on the block), you need to invest in Chemistry and Technique, not just expensive machinery. We're already mid-January. Goals have been set. Maybe you wrote down "recover this year" or "heal my relationship with food" or "finally find freedom." But here's what I need you to hear: Setting the goal isn't the problem. How you're approaching it is. I was listening to a Tony Robbins podcast recently, and he said something that stopped me in my tracks: The reason why people don't get the results they're after is because they approach it all wrong. Most people start with the strategy—looking for the perfect plan, the magic formula, the one thing that's going to solve everything. And when that strategy doesn't work, they think they failed. But the truth is, the strategy was never the problem. It's that they started in the wrong place. This is SO true in eating disorder recovery. People come to me all the time asking, "Lindsey, what's THE strategy? What did YOU do to recover? Just tell me the steps and I'll do it." And here's what I have to tell them: There are multiple ways of getting to recovery. No one way is THE way. And anyone who tells you there is only one way? Run from them. In this episode, I'm introducing you to the 3B Framework—Being, Belief, and Blueprint—the exact approach I use with my private clients that actually gets lasting results. Because sis, the strategy isn't the first step. It's actually the LAST step. And that's why you've been stuck. In this episode, you'll discover: Why starting with strategy is keeping you stuck in the recovery cycle The 3B Framework: Being, Belief, and Blueprint (and why the order matters) Why anyone promising "one proven way" to recover is lying to you The real reason my clients see lasting transformation (it's not the meal plan) My personal figure skating story and how old beliefs kept me trapped for years The moment at the ice rink that showed me I was finally free Why the patterns and behaviors won't change long-lasting if the soul work isn't met How to identify the story you've been telling yourself that's keeping you stuck Practical homework to excavate your core beliefs and rewrite your narrative If you keep doing what you've always done, you're going to keep getting what you've always gotten. And I'm guessing you're tired of being stuck. So let's change the approach. Let's do this differently. Let's actually get you FREE. KEY QUOTES FROM THIS EPISODE

Many of you have watched their work evolve over the years, shaping how modern cycling is seen and remembered. I've been lucky enough to have a front-row seat to that journey.Today, I'm joined by Ashley and Jered Gruber — a husband-and-wife photography duo and two of the most influential visual storytellers in the world of cycling. From their early years to the biggest races on the calendar, I've watched them quietly shape how the sport looks, feels, and is remembered. This conversation is an honest look into life inside the peloton. We talk about instinct versus technique, creative doubt, missed shots, and the pressure of making split-second decisions when there are no second chances. Jered and Ashley open up about working together under extreme stress, following the Tour de France for weeks on end, navigating chaos at Flanders and Roubaix, and why even after all these years, they still feel the urge to try something different. This isn't just a conversation about photography. It's about trust, partnership, curiosity, and earning your place — not by being loud, but by consistently doing the work at the highest level. This is Part 1 of a three-part series. In the episodes to come, we'll go deeper into how they met, their early years in cycling, full race-day workflows, and what still inspires them today.Hope you enjoy this one.CHAPTERS00:00 – Intro05:34 – First Dolomites memories & meeting Igor Tavella 08:45 – Most crazy expensive place they've slept in the Tour10:36 – Their favorite photo 11:37 – The shot they still regret missing 15:27 – Cycling's most underrated roads 18:06 – Post-Tour exhaustion & recovery 20:25 – Favorite races to shoot23:09 – Technique vs instinct 27:46 – Koppenberg vs Paterberg vs Kwaremont 32:24 – Gear, lenses & race-day survival 37:38 – Planning locations with moto pilots 40:44 – Graham Watson & early inspiration 44:32 – Explaining their job outside cycling 46:05 – Why documentary photography still matters 47:07 – EndingCONNECT Ashley Norris Gruberhttps://www.instagram.com/ashleygruber/Jered Gruber https://www.instagram.com/jeredgruber/Igor Tavellahttps://www.instagram.com/igortavella/Ustaria Posta Hotelhttps://www.instagram.com/ustariaposta/https://www.ustariaposta.it/– HOST –Søren Jensen, Global Marketing Manager at Castelli, has worked for this iconic brand since 2006. If you heard last week's podcast, you may remember that this month's podcast episodes are all about growth, your growth as a harpist and the systems and skills that are necessary for that growth. Last week, we talked about three key systems that you need to have in place for growth. This week is all about technique. I know it may sound like a dry as dust topic to some of you. Harpists generally fall into two distinct camps: those who hate doing technique exercises and those who love them. So if you love your Grossi and LaRiviere or whatever exercise book you use, this podcast is going to be right up your alley. We'll dive into how you can use what you're doing now to get to that next level of technical proficiency. If you're in the other camp, one of those who feels like exercises are torture when all you want to do is play pretty pieces, I hear you. I'm talking to you as a convert. Granted it was many years ago when I finally realized that exercises weren't just for solving problems, that they were more like the gas in my harp-playing engine. I totally understand just wanting to play music. What I want you to get from today's podcast episode is that a consistent plan for strengthening your technique will take your playing further faster than just about anything else. And this plan doesn't have to be all exercises either. We're all about harp happiness here, and that includes when you're practicing your technique.

This week, Jake and Bob welcome Dr. Sean Tobin, author and psychologist, to explore the reality of spiritual warfare and deliverance ministry. Dr. Sean reframes deliverance not as a battle to fear but as a process of centering our hearts in Christ. They discuss how fear, self-reliance, and isolation fragment the soul, why the simplicity of love and praise is more powerful than you think, and the proper balance between technique and communion. This is a hopeful conversation about spiritual battle, one rooted not in fear, but in confidence in a Father who relentlessly pursues healing, wholeness, and communion with His children. Key Points: Spiritual warfare is real, but we need not be afraid. Deliverance is not about removing darkness but allowing the light of Christ back into our hearts. The enemy's main tactics are to make us feel afraid, isolated, or grasp in self-reliance. Feeding fear or falling into superstition can strengthen spiritual bondage instead of bringing freedom The simple practices of faith (prayer, trust, and praise) are more profoundly effective than you think. Spiritual warfare is ultimately about ministering to people, not fighting demons. Healing involves restoring belonging, communion, and trust in God's presence. Like healing, deliverance is a process, and does not usually happen in a single moment. God can use spiritual conflict to refine, mature, and draw us into deeper communion with Him.
