ABOUT: Shannon Jaccard is a behavioral health consultant and adjunct professor in the field of health care services at Alliant University. She was the CEO of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) San Diego and Founder of Compeer San Diego. Shannon serves on several boards including RI International, The Meeting Place Clubhouse, and San Diego County Behavioral Health Board. Shannon has received numerous awards such as; the Rona and Ken Purdy Award to End Discrimination and the Channel 10 News Leadership Award. She was named one of San Diego’s “50 People to Watch” by San Diego Magazine. Shannon has published several articles bringing to light the experiences siblings share when a loved one has a mental illness and is an international speaker on stigma, labels, and mental illness. Her book, The Forgotten Survivors, is due to be published in 2019. Shannon has a blog for siblings on grief, loss, and shared experiences. Shannon earned her bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) and her Master’s of Business Administration from California State University, San Marcos. Kevin Clemens is an award winning writer and magazine editor. He’s been a staff member at Automobile and European Car magazines and has written columns for numerous other publications and major automotive companies. Kevin has written eight books and he has received the Ken Purdy Award for Excellence in Automotive Journalism. In 2006 he started the independent publishing company, Demontreville Press in Lake Elmo, Minnesota that specializes in the publication of automotive fiction and the republishing of out of print automotive titles. In 2011 he set a National Land Speed Record at Bonneville on an electric motorcycle that he built in his home garage. He returned to the Salt Flats and set more records in an electric sidecar motorcycle.

In words and pictures, veteran motorsports journalist Pete Lyons has spent decades covering races all over the world, including classics such as North America’s original “unlimited” Can-Am series, Formula 1 Grand Prix from Argentina to Watkins Glen, and sports car enduros at Daytona, Sebring and Le Mans. Assignments have taken him to Mexico’s Baja 1000, the Pikes Peak Hill Climb, Kenya’s Safari Rally and numerous other events. Pete is a former editor of RACECAR magazine, and he has contributed to numerous enthusiast publications, including Autosport, AutoWeek, Car and Driver, Road & Track, and many more. The author of 12 books published to date, with two more underway, Lyons has won several prestigious honors, including the Motor Press Guild’s Dean Bachelor Award (twice) and the International Motor Press Association’s Ken Purdy Award. In 2011 he gained the International Automotive Media Award for Lifetime Achievement.
