We watched "Killing American Style" (1990).
The genius behind Samurai Cop, the original not that shitty sequel, brings us another bombardment of scenes that deserve our acknowledgement.
We can't help staring at Robert Z'Dar's jawline this week, as we watch him terrorize a family in Killing American Style. The 80's were an amazing decade. Villains and heroes abound, and they all do cocaine. What happens when escaped bad boys steal a whole lot of money and hold a hero's family hostage? We get to see some Killing American Style, that's what.

Our 10th Episode!! To celebrate we knew it had to be a special film to discuss. Bouncing back and forth between all the greats like Kubrick, Tarantino, Scorsese, and Bergman we decided that nobody could be better than Shervan... What? never heard of him? You never heard of Amir Shervan?!?!?! And you call yourself a "Film Lover"? He's directed so many classics like "Hollywood Cop", "Killing American Style", and today's film "Samurai Cop"! From the breathtaking cinematography to the perfect choreographed fights this is a true masterpiece. The plot you ask? I mean, does it really matter? With superstars like Matt Karedas, and Mark Frazer do you really even need an engaging plot? Amir sure didn't think so. Grab some beer, sit back and listen to us talk about possibly, ones of the greatest films ever to exist.
Matt and Bob welcome guest Jeff Birkenstock to experience 1989's answer to CRANK: YOUNG REBELS! From the director of HOLLYWOOD COP, KILLING AMERICAN STYLE and SAMURAI COP comes a movie about relentless murder, sex, driving, muzzle flashes and a movie not about talking. Have you ever wanted to watch Robert Z'Dar get interrupted during coitus? Do you like protagonists that seem like side characters until they are apparently protagonists? Do you like scenes hinged on the contents of luggage? If yes, then this movie is for you! THE MOVIE ON AMAZON PRIME! THE MOVIE ON YOUTUBE!

(without Movie Audio) Well it's not Samurai Cop... Welcome back to the Simplistic Reviews Movie Commentary! Today we pop in another Amir Shervan film, Killing American Style. It's the 80's and of course Amir will recycle from his masterpiece Samurai Cop; location, music and beefy men with long beautiful hair. The terrible acting mix with cheesy fight scene is the best part along with its nonexistent script. Killing American Style is no Samurai Cop. It's not as funny nor crazy but still a entertaining film except for one thing - rape. The amount of creepiness is beyond anything we have seen before. There really isn't a need for rape in a movie, especially when the story line doesn't call for it. A simple walk into the room with the door closing gets it point across, what we get here is out of control and unnecessary. Killing American Style is a fun Sunday film to drink and laugh at, just look at that title. But when your looking for another Samurai Cop don't look at Killing American Style, it's in a league of its own.

This week we might have watched the worst movie we have ever reviewed for the show! The 1988 pile of trash, Killing American Style starring no one you have ever heard of except for Jim Brown. This movie was so bad that we maybe talked about it for about 15 mins. It was so bad that it made Kenny's dating life sound exciting. Sit back and enjoy our take on this horrible, horrible movie!
Dan, Jason, and Rob, or how he will now be known as Ballsnitch, bring you a rundown of Killing American Style. A movie written and directed by Amir Shervan, who also brought us Samurai Cop, that we've done on a previous show. First, Jake kicks us off with some feedback and even brings back a marry, fuck, kill. Dan brings us the "question of the show" before the boys get into some trailer talk, of which they chat about The Dark Tower, War for the Planet of the Apes, The Defenders, and Ballsnitch brings up an idea for a retro trailer that we kick off with of The Terminator. The boys even offer up feedback for a retro trailer suggestion, so ask away Jake. Then the boys get into a some what chat about what they've been watching before completely gushing over Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. *SPOILER ALERT* They talk a lot and spoil most of the movie, but its worth a listen. Dan the gives Rob and Jason a good rundown of Killing American Style while they all chime in with their own versions of what should be added to the movie. Ballsnitch makes it all fall apart at the end though with his thirst for knowledge and gaping mouth to put the show and his friendship with Dan on the rocks. ........ to be continued?..... Aaaand we’re back. Flippin’ finally! As some of you know, it’s been a rough month here at SCC… but after all the roadtrips, mountain-climbing, and hospital stays (not in that order), we are back and ready for action. We missed bad movies, and we missed every gosh damn one of you! Tom picked the movie this week, and we watched the 1990 action flick, Killing American Style- directed by the one and only Amir Shervan. Tyler stopped by to watch this one with us- making it the third Shervan film we’ve covered on the show, and the second that Tyler has joined us for. Killing American Style stars Robert Z’Dar as hardened criminal, Tony Stone, who -along with his partner, John Lynch- are on their way to prison for a failed heist. When Stone’s brother is shot in the process of helping them escape, they force their way into a nearby home and wait for help. The only problem is that the house belongs to all-American bad-ass/80s fashion victim, John Morgan. Morgan comes out strong but essentially becomes their errand boy for the entire movie, until finally he gets fed up and decides to unleash some good ol’ fashioned American whoop-ass on everyone! Hurray! We discuss the obvious parallels between this and Shervan’s other films, including his bizarre perspective on American culture. We also discuss watermelon etiquette, bizarre set “design”, and lack of a solid goon game in this flick. We’re back!
