"Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy" says Jesus. What is mercy? How does it work? Where do I get it? What’s the blessing? How important is this, really?

We need to win! Defeat the opposition! Claim victory over our enemies! At least that’s the natural human reaction. But what happens when you discover that your so-called enemy is a person with a name, a history, fears, and aspirations? Today, Lee Whitworth, Field Director of Biblical Ministries Worldwide challenges us to see the person behind the mask – and learn why it’s truly a blessing to be a peacemaker!

Face it – humans are rebellious and messy and in desperate need of mercy. Pastor Chad Johnson asserts that because Jesus has flipped the script on things, making it counter cultural to the way we think, Christians are called to live with a Kingdom view that extends mercy and compassion to others. It’s not because they deserve mercy, but because we’ve received mercy that we ourselves didn’t deserve! In other words, if God removed his mercy, even for a moment, “we’d be smoke!”
