Caroline Lindon is the creator of The Saturn Seminary, a Substack that probes the depths of human consciousness and dismantles unseen barriers. Saturn serves as her celestial guide, urging introspection and growth. Her work plants seeds of transformation in those willing to confront their inner darkness.Living with ADHD and dyslexia, Caroline brings a unique perspective to wider social dynamics by incorporating her training in fields such as astrology and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). She views these disciplines as tools for unlocking potential and reshaping reality. Her approach blends ancient wisdom with modern techniques to uncover hidden truths.Caroline Lindon of Saturn Seminary joined me in a conversation about a wide range of topics, from Saturn to neurodiversity. I began following Caroline after reading and appreciating her realistic take on Pluto's move into Aquarius:and knew I wanted to have a conversation with her. Caroline writes on a variety of topics, including astrology. She has a background in neuro-linguistic programming as well as teaching and business transformation. As two “Saturn obsessed” people, we talked about why honoring Saturn as the traditional ruler of Aquarius matters; the need for taking back your personal authority; and how important it is to be in reality right now.We dove into several other topics:* Astrology as a way of revealing the patterns in your life;* What Pluto in Aquarius seems to have in store for us;* What “war” might mean in the modern world with Neptune in Aries;* Why neuro-divergence does not need to be “fixed”;* And the best advice for how to thrive in the midst of chaotic change.Subscribe to The Saturn Seminary for more of Caroline's work. Celebrate Easter, and get something more out of it this year by getting the newly released audiobook version of my book the Easter Connection, available at DeseretBook.com. This book will help you think through Christ's suffering in a different way and see how He helps you in a different way. It doesn't cost much and will bless your life and enhance your Easter celebration. Consider staring to listen to it on Holy Thursday.Next week we will have a video every day that helps us celebrate Christ during Holy Week.Consider joining us on our Palm Sunday walk. It will be held on Palm Sunday (April 13), at 4 pm. It will begin on the Murdock Canal Trail, at the Lindon View Trailhead (330 N. 780, Lindon). You may want to come early to find parking. Additional parking can be found at the church nearby (325 Canal Drive, Lindon). Some palm fronds will be provided, but there will not be enough for everyone. Julianne Muhlestein and Andrew Skinner will lead and teach at this event. In this episode Kerry and Susan Easton Black go through a series of revelations aimed at new converts of the Church. They discuss who these people are, helping them and their stories come to life so that we can understand more from the revelations themselves. The focus is on the people and the context, with the hope that each person will take that context and dive into the scriptures armed with the ability to draw even more out of them. They talk about the things that helped these converts either stay strong or stray, and lessons we can learn from that. They explore the lives and conversions of men like David Whitmer, Peter Whitmer, Parley P. Pratt, William McLellan, Thomas B Marsh, Orson Pratt, Sidney Rigdon, and others. They talk about the consequences those who strayed had in the suffering of others, and lessons we can learn from that. They also discuss early conferences, which is wonderful timing since we are experiencing General Conference right now. We are grateful for our generous donors who make the podcast possible, and for our executive producer B. Welcome to l'épisode 25 ! Wendy MacNaughton on her Substack Draw Together talked about negative space this week and she wrote,“Negative Space performs many functions: it focuses our eyes on the subject, it moves our eyes around a drawing or it keeps them still, it allows for visual space/room to breathe, and sometimes it gives the subject an extra layer of meaning.“For example, ever seen this logo before?“Sure, you've probably seen it a million times.“But have you noticed the hidden symbol in the logo?! Focus your attention on the negative space of the logo - the space between the letters. Do you see it? Look between the E and the X. Now do you see the arrow?? YES. It's subtle. It took me YEARS to see it. But once you see the arrow formed by the negative space you can't unsee it. In this case, designer Lindon Leader used the negative space to create an image that informs the meaning of the subject. An arrow takes your package from here to there. Very clever, Lindon.”This obviously has societal implications, which she writes about as well. It gives a visual break—especially when it's at the end of the scene or chapter, right? A new chapter almost always begins on a new page. There's a reason for that. It's to let that last bit resonate. It's to signal, “Hey! Rock star! You just read a chapter!”So… how do you create white space?Make your sentences shorter. Vary these babies. Make your paragraphs shorter. Vary these babies, too. In articles, make lists. Make sure in dialogue that each person speaking gets their own paragraph. This week, Derek recaps an unforgettable blacktail hunt in the rugged beauty of Oregon. From high-stakes moments to laid-back camaraderie, this is what hunting is all about. The team battled through steep shale bluffs and shifting winds while adapting to a new hunting style. But the pressure didn't stop them. Supported by friends old and new, they came together for an experience more about the journey than the trophies. Derek's 783-yard shot on a forked horn buck was a personal victory. Keegan's media magic captured every raw moment, from the anxious dry-firing practice to the adrenaline-filled trek to recover the buck. Meanwhile, Greg nailed a still-hunting buck, flipping the usual roles between the two of them. This hunt wasn't just about deer, though—it was about teamwork, perseverance, and the emotional highs and lows that come with it. Whether it was Keegan sprinting up mountains to catch the perfect shot or the shared thrill of packing out Greg's buck, the entire crew played a crucial role. And let's not forget Lindon, who brought the trip full circle with his mom's “Big Chicken Energy” (yes, seriously—chicken might just be the new secret to hunting success). With a film in the works that will bring all this to life, Derek and Greg's Oregon adventure is one for the books. Tune in for some heartfelt laughs, some near-misses, and one epic finish. If you're hunting this season, don't forget your BBQ chicken—trust us, it works. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Before the Fellowship: Fans Read and React to the Silmarillion by JRR Tolkien Every Week

After Morgoth is defeated and captured, Sauron repents of his deeds, but upon facing a sentence from Manwë flees into Middle-earth and returns to his evil ways. After the War of Wrath, Beleriand is destroyed and swallowed by the sea up to Ered Luin. Gil-galad rules Lindon by the Gulf of Lhûn just east of Ered Luin. Teleri elves from Doriath and Ossiriand move inland and dwell among Silvan Elves. The remaining Noldor dwell in Eregion near Khazad-dûm and prosper in friendship with the Dwarves. Sauron seeks to gain influence over the Noldori Elves. He wins them over by insisting that he desires to make Middle-earth a great land. He calls himself Lord of Gifts and shares his knowledge and lore with them. The Elves create several Rings of Power. Sauron creates his One Ring in order to control the wearers of the other rings. Due to their might, he is forced to put much of his strength into the One Ring, but he is able to see all that is done by the wearers of the Rings of Power. The Elves sense him and remove their rings. In anger, Sauron makes open war on them and demands that they give over the rings since they were made with his lore. The Elves flee and are able to save the greatest Three Rings: Narya, the Ring of Fire; Nenya, the Ring of Water; and Vilya, the Ring of Air. 01:19 Dan reads pages 285-288 from the Silmarillion, 2nd Edition 13:19 Summary 14:59 Discussion Watch this Episode on YouTube Send feedback to beforethefellowship@gmail.com Follow us as we follow Tolkien: TWITTER DISCORD The Rings of Power comes to Amazon, but nothing compares to the real story JRR Tolkien wrote. In this episode, we welcome Lisa Stoddard Reeves to discuss the complex aspects of forgiveness in relationships, particularly within Christian contexts. Lisa highlights the potential harms of oversimplifying forgiveness, especially in cases of significant betrayals. She examines the different dimensions and types of forgiveness — including extending grace, trust, and reconciliation, as well as divine forgiveness — while emphasizing the need to avoid coercive language like 'Will you forgive me?'. Lisa also draws on academic insights from game theory and the scriptures to illustrate the dynamics of fair and balanced relationships. The discussion underscores the importance of maintaining responsibility with the wrongdoer rather than placing undue burdens on the victim. We will walk along the trail to the Lindon Temple. Then people will need to walk back to their car.Consider getting an Easter gift from He-Lives.netIn this episode Stephen Smoot and Kerry teach about the ways in which Nephi intertwines his writings with Isaiah's. They provide some of the Isaiah context that allows us to get more out of what Nephi was saying. They explore the real meaning of being spoken to out of the dust and what that should mean to us in our day. They flesh out the ways the Bible and the Book of Mormon are designed to work together, according to Nephi's prophecies. They talk about the Gathering of Israel, and the role of the Book of Mormon in that, and the way Nephi uses biblical poetic patterns (like Isaiah) to teach about how universally available God's salvation is. They point out that the Book of Mormon, and especially this part of Nephi's writings, are aimed primarily at the descendants of the Lamanites, and how they and we are all gathered together as we use all of God's writings together. We are grateful for our sponsor, Lisa Spice, and for our producer, BJ Muhlestein, and for Rich Nicholls, who composed and plays the music for the podcast.
