Why does the number of mentally ill individuals in America just keep climbing? Who said, “If you will not have God, you should pay your respects to Hitler and Stalin."? Let’s talk truthfully about mass shootings. First of all, unlike familicides or felony-related homicides, the perpetrators are almost always suicidal. Why are they also nearly always white men?  Yes, they mostly involve firearms, but let’s seriously explore all the other commonalities they possess which are so very politically incorrect. When was anything the government banned removed from society? Alcohol during prohibition? No! Drugs for the past 40 years? No! But banning guns will work? Really? Have you heard of the famous Elephants’ Graveyard in Africa? Why is nature so private about death? Where are all the dead pigeons in New York?  Is death a technical problem or a philosophical problem? Together, we discover the latest work being done to defeat death. Why exactly does death disturb us?  How has growth in crime paralleled the growth in children born to single mothers that began…yes, that’s right: in 1962? More innocent people die violently in American road accidents every single day than have died in the last three mass shootings. Why does no one seem to care about them? More than 70 Americans die of homicides every single day. Again, doesn’t anyone care? Why do we seem to care more when fewer people die in what we call a mass shooting? Every month there is at least one mass killing carried out with knives or axes, rather than guns. Why don’t you hear about these events? Is it possible that America’s increase in abortion, both clinically and culturally, spreads a subconscious mood of death? Why is the number of people who’d mourn your departure so important? Eliminating cancer would add only 3.3 years to the average lifespan and eliminating heart disease would add only 4 years, so for people to reach 120 years or older would require a whole lot more. This is part 4 of this series. In the first episode, we talked about Bringing Old Americans Into the Mix. The next episode dwells into Why Older Men Should Lift Weights. Episode three was about 5 things that you need to do in order to make your retirement a good one. And in today's episode, we will be discussing the article, I’d Rather Die While I’m Living Than Live While I’m Dead. Because, even at an early stage in life, you need to rethink how your approach to life would be. Would it be for the better or the other way around? Basically “Die While Your Living” means, I want to die while I'm doing something that I enjoy. My approach to life would be that I want to be out there living my life and not be sitting at home watching TV. Or as the author says putting up with that dreaded commute for a job you don't like, to earn money, to buy things that you don't need, or to impress people you don't like. All Those Things That We See As A Young Kid Are Imprinted In Us The author blames Jimmy Buffet's song “Growing Old But Not Up.” It includes the line “I’d Rather Die While I’m Living” in the chorus. He said he watched that song as a young teenager. And Isn't it funny that all those things that we see as a young kid are imprinted in us? Whether it is for good or for bad. The money scripts that we have in life and a lot of the scripts that we have about how life should be live are imprinted in us as kids. A Lot Of People Don't Really Have a Good Approach to Life Everyone should enjoy their life and live fully. That is the most important thing for people. You don't have to be retired to do this, you can do it at every part of your life. Just go about doing whatever you want to do in life as long as you are enjoying it. Sometimes people take the negative side, which is to think that it's about taking undue risks, which is really the opposite of it. It's not about being crazy, it's not about being stupid, and it's not even about any of those types of things. It is about being intentional and being purposeful in what you want in life. Life Isn't About Being Extravagant Is your approach to life really about the most expensive car you can drive? The most expensive house you can live in? Eating at restaurants 5 days a week. Is that what life really is? Or is it about building memories with your family and friends? You just have to learn to say I am enough, I have what I want, and I'm going to be intentional in how I choose to live my life. And also think about doing what is important instead of what society or some advertiser told me what I should do because it's important. Be Contented With What You Have You can go buy a new luxury car tomorrow and tomorrow you will be happy. 6 months from tomorrow when your neighbor comes home with a nicer luxury car and yours is dented and it's not new anymore, you're no longer happy. When you learn to let go of yourself and learn to be contented inside then you have it all. Because the final stage of life is learning to let go. Conclusion People need to realize that having a happy approach to life isn't something you could do overnight because it takes time. Our life is an accumulation of whatever we collect from the environment and the society we are living in. Get rid of that false concept of life first. Because life is not just an accumulation. It’s something more than that. Once you recognize this true nature or approach to life; only then you can approach to the things in the right way. Once you get rid of the thought that you should be better...

In Mark 9:33-37, Jesus is moving toward the cross, close to the time of his departure. A three-year training program for the disciples is about to end. So what is the chief concern of his disciples? They want to know which one of them is the greatest. Really? Have they learned nothing? Or, are we just like them?

John 16:5-15 Jesus said a number of things that were confusing to the disciples. But at the Last Supper He said something that really had them wondering. He said, "It is for your good that I am going away." They had to be thinking, "Really?" Have you seen how we've done without you?" This week we talk about how imagery in media effects us as humans in our lifestyle and the vanilla world. This all started with a the movie poster for Xmen which depicted the main villain with his hands around Mystique's throat. There had to be an apology released and so many people were upset. Really?? Have we really gotten to the point where we are offended by any image that is not calm and peaceful? It's a movie with fictional characters. What do you think? Do you think it's a bad thing? Is there too much sexual imagery and violence in media, movies, games?
