How To Get The Most Out Of Sales Calls – Publish. Promote. Profit. with Rob Kosberg Episode 137 In this quick episode, I explain the process we use at Best Seller Publishing to ensure the people who book sales calls are pre-qualified. This makes them a warm lead and more likely to convert. If you're the one who takes the sales calls in your business, be mindful of the time you spend on a call. This is why it's important to make sure the leads are as warm as possible.  It's important that your appointment funnel involves a video that the person must watch prior to getting on the phone with you. This warms up the lead to what you do and how you help people.  Requiring the video allows you to cut down on the questions at the front end and therefore cut the time you spend on the call. And, trust and rapport are built before the person even gets on the call.  You'll discover:  ● An inside look into the exact appointment funnel we use (3:45) ● The form we require leads to fill out in order to book a call (5:00) ● The 3 important steps in our process (7:48) ● How a good funnel will sort your leads for you (13:52) Connect with Rob: Website https://bestsellerpublishing.org Twitter https://twitter.com/bspbooks Instagram https://www.instagram.com/bspbooks/?hl=en Facebook https://www.facebook.com/bestsellerpub YouTube https://www.youtube.com/c/BestSellerPublishingOfficial Learn more about your ad choices. How To Upsell Potential Clients Using Your Book   – Publish. Promote. Profit. with Rob Kosberg Episode 125 In this episode, Rob speaks on how to multiply customer value by using your book as the first point of contact and stepping stone to other offers. You'll get a peek inside the model Rob currently uses at Best Seller Publishing. It's called the “Free Plus Shipping” strategy.    This strategy is a way to bring in leads that are 16 times more likely to purchase because the first point of entry requires a small investment. This model is especially recommended if you have a high-ticket offer. It's designed to attract an audience right off the bat that's willing to invest in your information.   Rob delves into why relying on book sales alone to make the majority of your income is a dead end. He also discusses how to better structure your sales funnel to make upsells and one-time offers. These don't require a lot of extra work. They simply give your customers the option to get more help from you. A lot of times they choose the help, which results in more income for you and more help for them without a whole lot more effort on your part. That's what's called a win-win! She described the event as she saw it in her mind. “I saw a man dressed in a black robe holding a baby above his head. Black-robed people surrounded the man with the baby. After the baby was brought down, the man sprinkled blood from a bowl onto the baby's forehead. “I tried to look away, but I could feel Jesus' warmth right next to me. He wants me to see. Mom is there, just staring, but part of this. They put the baby on a table, and a man started drawing an upside down cross on the baby's chest. I keep hearing the words, ‘I denounce you in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.'” Kathy screamed. “That baby was me. How could my mother do this? How could anyone do this?” She wailed for several minutes. The people in the other offices must think I'm hurting her. She kept rubbing her forearms on the front edge of the wooden chair arm. I couldn't stop her. After she regained her composure, she said, “I question if that was a Satan dedication. Did demons come and go? Whatever. The baby is me. I have to hold the baby. She senses my hesitancy. I've heard her crying before. I didn't know what it was. Baby is badly bruised. I tried to hold the baby, but holding her made me hurt. She is full of pain. Also, I had flashes of water, smothering, weights of people, red brick. I felt overwhelmed. Rob Kosberg is a great friend of mine. He's an author and the founder of Best Seller Publishing, a company that helps authors promote their books and grow successful businesses. Rob started out in real estate, but after the housing market crashed, he decided to write a book and went all in. He used radio media to promote his book and wound up landing several clients through giving away free copies. Rob still uses this strategy in his business today and has folks simply pay for shipping. This then funnels potential clients into his business where all he has to do is close them.Books can supercharge your credibility in whatever your field may be. You'll want to spend some time making sure that you're writing a book that aligns with your business to attract ideal clients. Knowing what questions your clients have can help you write the book that will answer them, making your book the perfect introduction to you and your business. Once you have a solid funnel in place, the clients will come, and you can lead them into more ways of working with you. One of the biggest mistakes new authors make is that they think their work is done once their book is finished. They often move on to the next thing before giving their book a chance to make their money through other avenues. Rob helps his clients turn their books into lucrative businesses. His team works with many different authors, each with unique business goals. Welcome back to the Catapulting Commissions Podcast with Anthony Garcia. Our guest today is Rob Kosberg, founder of Best Seller Publishing. Rob has been described as “one of the kings at helping people get their idea out of their minds, onto pages, & into the market place.” This week, Rob is going to share with us the impact having a successfully published book can have on your sales career.    Rob is a sales guy. At 18 he got his real estate license. He learned to be the first one in the office, look at old listings, and start cold calling. His second month he sold five houses. Naturally, he bought a Corvette and investment property. His father’s advice stuck with him, even today. Pounding the pavement, though, wasn’t always the best method. It definitely works, but there are other ways of marketing. He discovered that you could shift the game from hunting to being hunted by clients. He does that with a best selling book.    So, when an individual is ready to make the change from outbound to inbound, what do they do? First, it’s important to remember that there is a hierarchy of desire. As you become more desirable, your value increases. When the market sees you as an authority, your become more desirable. You want to move from a generalist to an expert and thought-leader. How? A best selling book. Everyone knows that people at the top of their field “wrote the book on it.” When you add media to that, there’s no other way to classify that person as a celebrity on their subject. Simply put, the more people who know who you are, the more you can charge.    Conceptualizing an idea into a book is a process. Rob suggests starting as narrow as possible. If you’re an expert in a small arena, that’s what you should write about. The money is not in the royalties of the book, the money is in your expertise in your marketplace. You need a book you can make millions of dollars with even if it only sells 10,000 copies.    A framework Rob lays out in his own book, Publish. Promote. Profit. is built on a number of ideas. One of which is understanding how many “failed authors” there are. They either fail to ever finish the book, publish, or sell the book despite the effort invested in it. You still need to market! Most people fail because they feel they need to write 1,000 words a day--that doesn’t work for everyone. Or, they’re writing on the wrong subject. Rob’s book breaks down the thousands of failed efforts and pinpoints the boiling points.    A massive problem in traditional ghost writing is a lack of the author’s unique voice. Rob and his team have found a formula that incorporates context into content. The foundation is based on offering insight into the author’s life and story. In that way, it’s going to be ‘your’ voice and your story.    LINKS   https://bestsellerpublishing.org/ publishpromoteprofit.com

Episode 125 -- Storytelling in History Class with Joel Hawbaker

2-Minute Talk Tips

Play Episode Listen Later Aug 7, 2019 42:33

2-Minute Tip: Greet Audience Members Early   As much as practical, if you have time before your speech, meet some members of your audience. Greet them as they come in and sit down. This accomplishes a couple things.   First, it’s the start of a relationship with a new person. For part of your audience, you will no longer be just that person on the stage. Instead you will be that person they were just chatting with who is now on the stage. As you build that relationship, you are building trust.   Second, it gives you some familiar faces you can look for when you are on the stage. This encourages you to engage in more eye contact, and it gives you some people you can specifically look for.   As a bonus, it can even help with speaker nerves by distracting in that period before your talk.   Post Tip Discussion: Meet Joel Hawbaker   Joel Hawbaker has fully embraced the storytelling aspect of speaking. And why wouldn’t he? Telling stories is how civilizations have shared their histories, their lessons, and their faiths for millennia.   It’s how religions today share the lessons and directives of their prophets and marketing departments around the world grow their profits. And it’s how you can make history compelling and memorable for the toughest audience in existence — school kids.   Humility is not thinking less of yourself, it’s thinking of yourself less CS Lewis   I also like Joel’s thoughts on the importance of humility for not just a speaker and teacher, but for any expert. There’s an importance in going back to basics and working on fundamentals. Success requires a strong foundation, and not thinking you’re too good to work on the basics.   Even an experienced speaker needs to think through their content, do the prep work, and practice.   This focus on humility and going back to basics is an important that can help us connect with more audiences. They’re the best way to celebrate the hero of our talks — the message.   Bio   Joel W. Hawbaker is a professional speaker, an author, and a high school teacher and soccer coach in Alabama where he lives with his wife, his two daughters, and their two rescue dogs. Joel has a degree in History from Covenant College, and he also spent time studying Medieval Civilizations at New College, Oxford, in the UK. In his professional speaking, Joel focuses on the topics of blended family life, leadership, and education. His goal is to help people form better relationships through a combination of confidence and humility. In addition to his books on leadership, he is currently working on a book about blended family life.   Writing the Book   Joel talked about his approach to writing his book. He worked on his outlines in the evening, and he filled them out while driving to work. This can be a great approach, assuming you can do it safely. This is a great job for a dedicated digital recorder. For a task like this, the small, cheap ones are probably fine.   This is an approach that can work because editing is easier than creating. Once Joel had his recordings done, he could turn them into transcripts and then edit them into a book.  Even with that, it still took him a year to write, “Inverted Leadership.”   But he did it.   On Strokecast, I talked with true crime author Paul Sanders. He finished his latest book a week before he had his stroke. That stroke robbed him (at least for now) of his ability to write books.   So don’t wait. Get that book written now. Joel found a way to write it during his commute. Here are my Top 6 Takeaways:     There is ALWAYS more momentum from making the journey and the investment of attending a mastermind, conference or summit.   Writing a book is not merely a pathway toward the growth and establishment of your business. You are crafting a spiritual and intellectual legacy of the same kind bequeathed to us by the generations that came before us.   It’s impossible to be CREDIBLE without being VISIBLE   Books have this in common with trees and children - all of them outlive us   Your business has three fundamentals - Proposal, Platform and Process. Proposal = what you offer the marketplace. Platform = how you communicate it to them. Process = how you collect money in exchange for fulfilling the offer.   Your business faces threats from five different angles:   Direct Rivals – competitors Alternatives - similar offers, or simply do nothing Powerful buyers - pre-purchase research and info on demand gives buyers the upper hand Powerful suppliers - Google, social media can easily disrupt the flow of your business by shutting you down Market entry challenges - dominant faces of your industry are very good at erecting invisible barriers that make it tough to enter     ✅ REGISTER for the Optimized Entrepreneur Webinar on July 30th, 2019 HERE:

Today’s guest, Rob Kosberg, has an impressive list of credentials. He’s a two-time international bestselling author who has been featured on ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox, and more -- in addition to having had his own radio show. What he does now is, perhaps, even more interesting: through his company Best Seller Publishing, he offers a revolutionary hybrid ghostwriting system that lets entrepreneurs, coaches, consultants, and other professionals write a book in their authentic voice without doing the writing personally. What’s more, he guarantees that the resulting book will become a bestseller. Find Out More About Rob Here: bestsellerpublishing.org (and bestsellerpublishing.org/apply) robkosberg.comRobKosbergCoaching on Facebook@RobKosberg on Twitter In This Episode: [01:31] - If you don’t have a book, how do you create one? If you do, how do you turn it into a bestseller? In his answer, Rob gives more insight into how his company works and discusses the biggest challenge people have with creating content -- as well as how he gets around this challenge. [06:45] - Malcolm Gladwell does a great job of engaging people in his books such as Outliers, Rob explains, by keeping the loop open long enough to keep readers’ attention. [07:26] - On average, an author Rob works with creates about one chapter of content per week in about an hour to an hour and a half, so a book can be done in a couple of months. [08:40] - Rob discusses how Taki Moore went through the process of creating his book, which is different than anything else the company had done before. [10:47] - How long should a book generally be? Rob answers that the sweet spot tends to be 150 to 175 pages. He and Stephan then go on to discuss the issues and intimidation factors involved with long books. [13:02] - “When you pay, you pay attention,” Stephan says, and Rob goes on to discuss his thoughts on the intricacies of giving books away. [14:55] - Rob describes the process of getting to do a TED Talk, emphasizing the importance of building relationships. [17:04] - We learn more about the different types of bestsellers, suggesting focusing on those that you can control rather than worrying about those that you can’t control (such as the New York Times bestseller list). [19:40] - Rob explains how to drive traffic to your book, which absolutely isn’t doing a book signing at Barnes & Noble. He also talks about his company’s process of releasing a book. [24:19] - Do a bunch of reviews get removed from Amazon? After answering, Rob emphasizes the importance of getting reviews, because having lots of good reviews builds a good foundation for future sales. [27:17] - Rob suggests taking screenshots of any Amazon category or country where your book ends up in the top five of the bestseller lists. [28:55] - Stephan asks about making different sites for each of your books, potentially including some content from each, versus having one site for all of your books or products. [30:43] - Rob talks about where to make big money from your book (and it’s not from the royalties). He starts by talking about how to turn your book’s success into paid speaking gigs. [35:48] - Rob details some other methods for lead generation, and mentions the “free plus shipping” model. [37:45] - How does shipping itself work with the “free plus shipping” model? Rob recommends using a fulfillment house and recommends Joe Foley at Disk.com. [39:34] - Rob offers more details on how he makes the “free plus shipping” model work, such as pulling a template or content sample out of your book and offering it to a potential audience for leads, and the pros and cons of each method. [41:32] - We hear Rob’s thoughts on publishers in general. [42:48] - How do you get big media opportunities? Rob gives his advice on how to show that you’re qualified and professional enough to appear on a show. [45:55] - Rob talks about how one of his clients got to appear on the Howard Stern Show, and how much of an impact it’s had on his sales.
