Sermon Text: Genesis 11:1-9, Philippians 2:1-13, Luke 4:1-13 The Church is the body of Christ, so we reflect Christ's nature - fully human, fully divine. Therefore, there's nothing we do in the church that doesn't have eternal, spiritual ramifications. When it comes to stewardship, all of it draws us to Christ or obscures Christ to us. So as we go through the "administrative" parts of the church in the coming months, let us look with the eyes of faith - pray, listen, discern, and commit. Synopsis: The fallen world seeks unity by removing natural differentiation. God reveals in Genesis 1-2 that true unity exists through harmonizing differentiation; light and dark, day and night, land and sea, man and woman. The differentiation of man into male and female is the only way to image God and fulfill His purpose for man; dominion and fruitfulness. Sermon Text: Genesis 1:26-28, 2:18-25

Sermon Text: Genesis 12:1-9; Matthew 7:13-20 A testimony is a record of the choices we make to live by faith out of the soil of our disciplines, and the impact our lives make on others. There is no testimony that doesn't require making choices. Abram's choice was to go in the complete opposite direction of the entire world, and Jesus tells us to enter by the narrow gate. Make those hard choices towards the way of God - the love of God, and the love of neighbor. Want to support the work of St. Mary's? https://www.eservicepayments.com/cgi-...

Synopsis: Man has always been a product of the divine and human, of heaven and earth. Spirit and dust, dust and spirit. Yahweh-Elohim birthed a man, Mary birthed a God. Unless the Lord builds the house, the laborers labor in vain. We are God's fellow workers, we are God's building, God's field. The creation is a supranatural and natural project. The incarnation of Jesus Christ was the perfect cooperation of God and Man, heaven and earth, Spirit and dust. Sermon Text: Genesis 2:4, 7

Sermon Text: Genesis 1:1-2, John 1:1-3, Genesis 1:26, Genesis 2:18, Genesis 3, Genesis 4, 2 Corinthians 5:18, Ephesians 2:18-20, Galatians 6:10, and Acts 2:42. This week we discuss the discipline of community. The truth is we were not made to live life alone and it is not good for man to be alone. God made us for community. Community begins with God. We broke community and ruined it and God restored it.
Sermon Text:Genesis 12:1-3Mark 8:27-30Exodus 1:1-14Today we begin a study of Exodus. This sermon looks at the importance of the connection between Genesis and Exodus and how creation, the covenant with Abraham, and the Joseph story are all “hyperlinked” in the first 14 verses of Exodus. We also notice the mysterious absence of God. Using the same rationale for Mark's messianic secret we see God demonstrating power not in traditional human ways. Rather we see God acting according to His own character which fundamentally that of a creator who desires life, fertility, flourishing, and abundance for His creation.
Sermon Text: Genesis 32 Today we did a Blessing of our Garden. In our gospel reading, Jesus withdrew to a secluded place to pray, a place a lot like this one. It was out of that that he could do the miracles he did. The life we live in relationship to agriculture and the earth is spiritually weighty, and we often find ourselves wrestling with God. That wrestling is holy, and brings us to a place where we can experience God. That's what can happen in a garden - contemplative space that can change us. Bonus Content (begins at 21:40): What We Need Is here. On the heels of our garden blessing, I thought we might continue the theme by diving into a little poetry - Wendell Berry's "Wild Geese." And through simple, powerful images, he makes a compelling case for resurrection life breaking out in you and in me precisely where we are. Not only are there individuals who are wicked, but we can see systems and institutions that conspire together in their corruption. Wickedness and evil permeate so much of society that we can't even so our own contribution. Genesis 6 tells the story of how a whole group of people can be led off into evil, and more importantly, what we can do to remain faithful to the Lord.
