As part of the Hillsong family, Taya Gaukrodger (better known as simply Taya) has given voice to some of the most recognizable worship anthems of our generation— including Oceans (Where Feet May Fail), Touch The Sky, Captain, & Even When It Hurts (Praise Song). That powerful voice is now coming into its own through her debut solo album, TAYA.This episode of Trevor Talks is a deep dive into the season of life that fueled her solo venture, which was co written and produced by Jon Guerra. Taya explains how the sweetness of the Lord was the theme that wove its way through this project, how that was manifested even in the right people being led to collaborate at the right time. She also offers insight into some of the cornerstone lyrics on this project, and her perspective on the Hillsong community that she has faithfully served alongside.Get her debut album TAYA at taya.lnk.to/tayaTP.Follow Taya:Facebook: TAYAInstagram: @tayagaukrodgerTwitter: @TayaGaukrodgerYouTube: TAYAFor more Trevor Talks:SpotifyApple MusicGoogle PodcastsInstagramFacebook

Taya Smith of Hillsong United joins Sadie with her relatable and powerful story, and it's impossible not to see Jesus in everything she says. The "Oceans" singer talks about her decision to move to Sydney to be a recording artist, living paycheck to paycheck while working in retail, her tryout for "The Voice," and the best lunch of her life. Sadie and Taya also discuss God's behind-the-scenes work, why we're not supposed to be "adults of God," finding the confidence to freely live out who you are, the times we struggle to worship, and what the Holy Spirit told Taya about shaving her head. Then, a caller asks Sadie and Christian a question about overcoming insecurity. https://www.audible.com/SADIE — New members try Audible FREE for 30 days Or text SADIE to 500-500 to try Audible FREE! As we wrap up our week on loving people, we look today at how we can love the Church as God does. Jesus says we will be known by the way we love each other. Would people know you’re a Christian by the way you love your brothers and sisters? People are messy, it’s true. We all are. And yet Jesus saw our worth and loved us in the midst of our messiness. How can you mimic that same love today as you seek to love his Church? Today we’ll look at the perspective and affections of Jesus for his people. May our hearts and minds be transformed as a result. Our Scripture for today comes from John 13:35, and today's worship is Broken Vessels (Amazing Grace) by Hillsong Worship feat. Taya Smith. The Bible has so much to say about our faith. And if I’m being honest, a lot of it is really confusing. In Matthew 21 Jesus tells us that we’ll receive anything we ask for, if we have faith. Hebrews 11 tells us that it’s impossible to please God if we don’t have faith. 2 Corinthians 5 tells us that it is by faith that we “see” the path forward, and not with our physical sight. But when I look into my own heart, I come face to face with ways I doubt on a daily basis. I often trust in my own strength, lean on my own understanding, and seek to provide for myself with my own power rather than relying on the strength, empowering, and provision of God. But, I also know that simply trying to have more faith doesn’t work either. This is why I wrote a four-week devotional, Faith, to unpack what the Bible says about living a life marked by an authentic faith. Faith isn’t something we muster up on our own. It’s not something we produce or create. Faith is the natural response to seeing, experiencing, and believing in God’s faithfulness. And the pathway to greater faith is greater experience, greater understanding, and a true heart-knowledge of God’s faithfulness to us that guides our thoughts, emotions, and actions. We've launched Volume 6 of our First15 Devotional Series, Faith, created to guide you into transformative experiences with God’s faithfulness and empower you to start living a life marked by authentic faith. As we wrap up this week of simple Christianity, today we look at grace. Many of us are so hard on ourselves and struggle to allow ourselves to taste the grace the Father has for us. We look to earn love and acceptance in this world, but God's way of grace couldn't be more different from the world who tells us we are what we do. May today be a breath of fresh air as you encounter the grace of God that requires nothing in return. Our Scripture for today comes from 1 Corinthians 15:10, and today's worship is Whole Heart (Hold Me Now) by Hillsong UNITED feat. Taya Smith. Our Scripture for today comes from Nehemiah 9:6, and today's worship is So Will I by Hillsong Worship feat. Taya Smith. First15 is a daily devotional written and recorded by Craig Denison. In today's devotional, we're going to look at how God transforms us as we allow him to meet us at our place of weakness. You were never created to be self-sufficient, to have no need of relationship with God. Contrary to what the world tells us every day, weakness can actually be a tremendous source of strength when we allow God to meet us powerfully in humility. May God replace pressure and pride with peace and humility today as we meet with him right now. Our Scripture for day comes from 2 Corinthians 12:9, and today's worship is Broken Vessels (Amazing Grace) by Hillsong Worship featuring Taya Smith. We'd love to hear your thoughts about our podcast! In today's podcast, we're launching a brand new series looking at various promises our heavenly Father makes towards us, and creating space to take hold of them a little bit more every day. Today we're looking at how God promises us his will, and how we can live our lives in connection to his desires and plans for us. May God stir our hearts to surrender anything that isn't best for us, and may he empower us to take hold of his passion, and his desires, that we might align our lives with his will. Our Scripture for today comes from Ephesians 1:9-10, and today's worship is Oceans by Hillsong United featuring Taya Smith. First15 is a daily devotional written and recorded by Craig Denison.
