While we're in that time of limbo between the end of OTA's and the start of Training Camp, we'll dive into a few different topics over the coming weeks. On this episode we'll talk about the legendary Steelers coaches, Chuck Noll (1969-1961), Bill Cowher (1992-2006) & Mike Tomlin (2007-present). Why Noll is iconic, Cowher is revered and Tomlin is under appreciated. Take a ride with the Triple-OG, Big-G & Tate on SCN & FFSN YouTube channels & listen wherever you get your audio podcasts. June 18, 2025 - Season 15, Episode 149 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday episode, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers signing S DeShon Elliott to a two-year contract extension this week. We go over what is known about that extension so far, the probable salary cap numbers, associated with it, and whether the team did the right thing when it comes to giving him the new deal. With Elliott now being finalized, Alex and I look at three players currently under contract and that signed new deals this offseason that could potentially wind up having their deals extended next offseason. The main three players discussed in this segment are CB Brandin Echols, ILB Malik Harrison, and T Calvin Anderson. Would the Steelers now offer WR Calvin Austin III the same type of extension they signed Elliott to? Would Austin even seriously consider such an offer if given it? We discuss those two questions quite a bit. Recently, Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network made some interesting comments about the future of Steelers HC Mike Tomlin in Pittsburgh. We attempt to get to the bottom of what Pelissero said and then attempt to speculate how, when, and why Tomlin's tenure with the Steelers will ultimately come to an end. Later in this show, Alex over all of the positional groups on defense and give our thoughts on those relative to being improved or not versus this time last year. We express our concerns about the Steelers' defensive line depth ahead of training camp getting underway. This 91-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the recap. We end this show by answering several emails we received from listeners of the show. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Post-Gazette sports columnist Paul Zeise reacts to the day in Pittsburgh sports news live around 5 p.m. Eastern. He gives his thoughts on Aaron Rodgers crediting Mike Tomlin for bringing him to the Steelers. Does the coach deserve more praise for helping secure the services of a four-time MVP at QB? Or should we still be suspect of Tomlin's QB evaluation following the struggles with Kenny Pickett, Mitch Trubisky, Justin Fields and Russell Wilson the past few years? Especially considering Rodgers' advanced age of 41? Paul tackles those questions; Derrick Harmon's early big to start alongside Keeanu Benton and Cam Heyward on the defensive line; the end of the Pirates' series with the Miami Marlins; and the last day of prep for the U.S. Open and Oakmont Country Club. Who's looking the best from among the elite golfers including Justin Thomas, Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Collin Morikawa and Bryson DeChambeau?

We don't necessarily need to shape-shift into flies on the wall. Mike Tomlin and Aaron Rodgers surely had an excellent meeting earlier this offseason in Pittsburgh, Pa.There's a very good chance that both head coach and quarterback view this looming partnership as a chance to stick it to the doubters and reclaim control of their narratives.Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game since the 2016 season, albeit with teams that never finish with a losing record. Rodgers hasn't been a good quarterback in four years. How did the Steelers get here? How will this all end? On this week's Substack Live at Go Long, I chat with Brian Batko of The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Always love seeing Brian on our trips to Steelers Country. He offers a sharp perspective on everything Tomlin and Rodgers. Yes, those Steelers of 2019 fought like hell — it was fun following that group for a B/R feature — but those wins with “The Duck” ‘n co. present a bitter counterfactural. In this episode of Technology Reseller News, Doug Green speaks with Evan Tomlin, CTO of Hyperion Partners, about how the company is enabling channel partners to step into the Internet of Things (IoT) and wireless monetization space through its powerful, white-label-ready VAST platform. Originally founded as a dominant Sprint partner focused on hardware and activation commissions, Hyperion has evolved into a multi-dimensional technology solutions company. Today, Hyperion supports large distributors, VARs, MSPs, and integrators through three business identities: partner enablement for wireless monetization, direct managed mobility and lifecycle services, and most notably, full-stack IoT solutions under the VAST brand. Tomlin explains that VAST is more than a product—it's a fully staffed, standalone business unit offering: Multi-carrier connectivity, including terrestrial wireless and Starlink, to provide seamless, location-adaptive service. Asset tracking with “slap-and-track” simplicity—no bells and whistles, just reliable dots on the map. Cellular networking, offering turnkey solutions that replace traditional ISP delays with instant, high-performance 5G WAN setups. “We're not asking partners to become engineers,” Tomlin notes. “We just need them to understand the basics and bring the relationship—they scratch the surface, and we do the rest.” VAST offers flexible partnership models including full white-label support and technical delivery. The platform plays particularly well in adjacent markets like retail, transportation, and SMBs where existing channel relationships can evolve into high-margin, sticky services. Hyperion's VAST platform isn't about upending a partner's current identity—it's about building on it. For those seeking new revenue streams and increased wallet share with existing customers, this is a ready-made opportunity that begins with a conversation. Poni isn't convinced ‘a lot of people (with the Steelers)' want Rodgers. There was then a ranking of who Arthur Smith may have wanted at QB and how he hasn't had a chance to stand up to Mike Tomlin about his quarterback decisions. There was a discussion about the offense with Justin Fields and Russell Wilson last season and how things changed or stayed the same. How will battles go between Rodgers and Tomlin?

I discuss Pickens being traded to Dallas why Tomlin has to go the blunt truth on the state of the Steelers and more
Welcome to Steelers Morning Rush, our new daily short-form podcast with Alan Saunders, giving a longer perspective on a single news topic surrounding the Pittsburgh Steelers or the National Football League. Today, it's the aftermath of Wednesday's trade of wide receiver George Pickens. Head coach Mike Tomlin took a lot of grief this offseason for promising to make changes and failing to deliver on that promise. That's not what he said, at any rate, but even taken at face value, the Steelers will enter the 2025 season with a new left tackle, an entirely new quarterback room, a new starting running back and a new starting wide receiver. Is that enough change for you? The decision to jettison Pickens, combined with recent similar moves with Chase Claypool and Diontae Johnson, also blows up a familiar taking point. It's pretty clear that there are consequences for bad behavior under Tomlin. Alan breaks it down. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

On this episode of the JT Sports Podcast, Devin Engle from the Here We Go Show joins JT to unpack whether Terry Bradshaw's long-standing criticisms of Mike Tomlin are finally proving true. Next, JT and Devin explore how Pittsburgh's expectations have eroded from chasing Super Bowls to settling for mediocrity, and why Tomlin's reputation among the NFL's elite coaches may not be as solid as fans assume. JT also questions if Will Howard has the traits to become the Steelers' franchise quarterback and whether the team's traditional identity—ground game, defense, and QB plug-ins—still works in today's league. They also debate what Aaron Rodgers could look like in black and gold, the potential of the Pickens–Metcalf duo, and whether Pittsburgh's 2025 draft class brings them any closer to serious contention.

April 22, 2025 - Season 15, Episode 123 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Tuesday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right to discussing the main takeaways stemming from the annual pre-draft press conference that Pittsburgh Steelers GM Omar Khan and HC Mike Tomlin had on Tuesday morning. While Khan and Tomlin didn't give away any draft secrets on Tuesday, they did at least provide several talking points for us during their press conference. We discuss the Steelers possibly moving down instead of up in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft based on what Khan said. We also discuss the Steelers not moving away from a player or players they like in the first round as well. We go over what Khan and Tomlin said about the state of the quarterback room right now and their view of the status with free agent QB Aaron Rodgers. Tomlin talked a little about RB Jaylen Warren as well as the nose tackle position on Tuesday, so Alex and I parse those comments. We also go over what Khan said about the Steelers possibly trading WR George Pickens this weekend as well as the plausibility of the team re-acquiring a second round select in the 2025 NFL Draft. Tomlin talked a lot about the team's pre-draft meeting with Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders so Alex and I over parse what he had to say. We talk some about Tomlin saying that his first time ever meeting Sanders was when he came to Pittsburgh for his pre-draft visit and if that is in any way notable. Alex and I also discuss the Steelers need for a big play running back when it comes to this year's draft and how height, weight and age should not matter when it comes to landing such a player. This 46-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the recap as well. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
April 22 – Ep. 52: On this episode of The Depot Dive, Joe Clark and Ross McCorkle start by discussing the many topics covered in Mike Tomlin and Omar Khan's pre-draft press conference. That includes Jaylen Warren RB1, Aaron Rodgers not impacting draft plans, how they will approach draft trades, and Tomlin being impressed with Shedeur Sanders. For the next topic, we discuss the idea of trading back being more likely than trading up and some reports that indicate a quarterback could be the target at the end of the first round. For the third topic, we discuss Cameron Heyward's PSA to fans during draft season to believe half (or less) of what you hear. To wrap things up we answer a listener question about Jalen Milroe's upside versus Shedeur Sanders' (perhaps) limited ceiling.
