In this Monday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right into our overarching thoughts on the Pittsburgh Steelers' Week 6 Sunday home win against the Cleveland Browns and how the team must now get ready to play on a short week. As part of our Monday Housekeeping segment, which is brought to you by Touring Plans, Alex and I go over the Steelers' Week 6 inactive list, the transactions that were made on Saturday, and the injury sustained by S Miles Killebrew against the Browns, which is likely to end his 2025 season. As usual, Alex and I get into recap the Steelers' win against the Browns. We start on the offensive side of the football and talk about several individual performances, the few big plays and the plays to WR DK Metcalf and TE Connor Heyward for touchdowns. We discuss the running game being adequate against the Browns and how there is still room for improvement when it comes to that phase. We also talk about the play of the offensive line, tight ends, and running backs on Sunday and how and why Browns DE Myles Garrett wasnt allowed to wreck the game on Sunday. The Steelers recorded another six sacks on Sunday. We go over the solid performances of several Steelers defensive players against the Browns, and we make sure to highlight the strong games that both OLB Nick Herbig and CB Jalen Ramsey put on tape. We discuss the play of every position group on defense and how the Browns running game was limited. Alex and I go over several of the snaps counts from Sunday and especially on the defensive side of the football. We discuss how a few key players on defense were rested some late in Sunday's game and how that could wind up paying dividends on a short week. The Sunday penalty total is also discussed during this show. After fully recapping the Steelers' win against the Browns, Alex and I discuss a few notable things that Steelers HC Mike Tomlin had to say right after the Sunday game and during his Monday press conference. RJ Bell, Steve Fezzik and Mackenzie Rivers talk NFL betting for Week 6. (RJ Bell 0:05–4:28) RJ Bell opened by calling it their most pick-heavy show yet and promoted Pregame's 90-day all-access deal, covering every NFL and college pick through mid-January plus NBA from Mackenzie Rivers, who's sustained 56.9% wins over four seasons. Steve Fezzik is up 52 units in college football, Good Fella up 20 in all sports, making this the best seasonal value. (Steve Fezzik 4:29–5:07) Fezzik's best bet: Detroit +2.5 at Kansas City. He rated the Lions 1.5 points better on power numbers, calling it a “much better spot” since Detroit coasted versus Cincinnati while Kansas City drained energy Monday night. (RJ Bell 5:08–10:31) Bell warned Detroit's banged-up secondary could be exposed but agreed the line overrates the Chiefs. He cited Dan Campbell's only coaching weakness—two straight road games five points below his usual ATS—but Fezzik said travel was short and rest ample. Bell's data showed Detroit faced the 27th-easiest schedule, KC the 7th-hardest, suggesting possible inflation, though both agreed the Lions' offense remained elite. (Mackenzie Rivers 13:10–13:15 to RJ Bell 20:02) Rivers mentioned KC's bounce-back narrative; Fezzik described waiting for +3 odds, sparking debate on betting exchanges, line movement, and same-game parlays. (RJ Bell 21:54–29:58) Bell's top pick: Tennessee team total under 18.5. He predicted a post-win letdown, called Tennessee “the NFL's worst offense” by drive-success rate (61%), and leaned on Pete Carroll's 3-loss rebound trend—opponents score 6 points below average. Fezzik added that teams winning twice as 5-point dogs “fall on their face” the next week. (Mackenzie Rivers 34:44–35:26) Rivers confirmed the trend (84-44 fading record since 2012) and EPA data placing Tennessee last (-36). (RJ Bell 35:46–43:07) Rivers and Fezzik pivoted to Cleveland-Pittsburgh, backing the Steelers off a bye versus a Browns squad returning from London. Bell cited Kevin Stefanski's 3-12 ATS mark on consecutive road games (-9.3 margin) and Tomlin's 18-1 straight-up home record vs Cleveland. (Fezzik 43:27–45:55) Fezzik next played Washington –4.5 over Chicago, noting a QB mismatch (Daniels vs Caleb Williams) and power-rating edge. Bell detailed Chicago's “luck-driven” offense ranking 22nd and the NFL's worst defense allowing 57% first-downs after second down. (RJ Bell 55:17–1:02:04) Bell's next bet: Jets-Denver under 43.5, arguing New York's scoring stats are inflated by weak opponents; the London trip and poor coaching amplify offensive risk. (Rivers 1:02:23–1:06:15) Rivers backed New England –3.5 vs New Orleans, citing EPA (+55 vs –something like 30th rank) and trench mismatches. Bell cautioned most bettors can't exploit live-wager edges Fezzik described. (Fezzik 1:15:24–1:17:19) He leaned Atlanta +4.5 vs Buffalo off a bye; Bell replied that McDermott-coached favorites off losses are 16-8-1 ATS (+5.2 margin). (RJ Bell 1:21:09–1:24:04) Bell's marquee pick: San Francisco –3 over Tampa Bay. He cited Todd Bowles' 0-6 ATS record after upset wins and a look-ahead spot to Detroit, arguing Tampa's coin-flip victories and public hype make the 49ers undervalued. (Fezzik 1:25:06–1:26:32) Fezzik's prop: Carolina RB Rico Dowdle rushing-yards over, expecting starter Hubbard's calf injury to boost usage against Dallas, his old team. (RJ Bell 1:28:40–1:32:37) Both liked Seattle over Jacksonville and Miami-Chargers under 43.5, citing O-line injuries, Tyreek Hill's absence, and Jim Harbaugh's 14-2 to-the-under trend when totals drop ≥3 points (–9 ppg). (Fezzik 1:33:07–1:34:22 to RJ Bell 1:37:58) They closed with Indianapolis first-half –4 over Arizona, factoring Kyler Murray's knee injury and reduced mobility. Bell added a division-futures hedge: buy Pittsburgh, offset later with Baltimore. Fezzik ended the packed Week 6 episode with his trademark farewell: “Be careful out there.” Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
October 8, 2025 - Season 16, Episode 34 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Monday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers exiting their bye week as they start to prepare to play the Cleveland Browns at home on Sunday. Alex and I discuss the recent transactions made by the Steelers and the team losing one of their practice squad players to the Las Vegas Raiders on Tuesday. By the sound of things, the Steelers will get CB Joey Porter Jr. (hamstring), OLB Alex Highsmith (ankle), and RB Jaylen Warren (knee) back from their injuries on Sunday against the Browns. Additionally, and based on what Steelers HC Mike Tomlin said on Tuesday, it sounds like WR Calvin Austin III (shoulder) and CB Jalen Ramsey are both highly questionable to play against the Browns. We also wonder if Austin and Ramsey could wind up missing the team's Week 7 game next Thursday night against the Cincinnati Bengals as well. With Tomlin holding his weekly press conference on Tuesday, Alex and I have a lot to recap when it comes to notable things he had to say. We discuss the Steelers' expected usage of their tight ends the next few weeks and which wide receiver or wide receivers might see expanded action against the Browns on Sunday should Austin wind up being sidelined with his shoulder injury. Will and should the Steelers use more 13-personnel that includes TE Darnell Washington and OL Spencer Anderson on Sunday against the Browns? Alex and I attempt to answer that question midway through this Wednesday episode. Tomlin talked about the development of rookie RB Kaleb Johnson on Tuesday, so we discuss that topic for a bit. We also go over the several things that Tomlin had to say about the Browns on Tuesday and that includes his thoughts on their rookie QB Dillon Gabriel and what the plan might be to slow down DE Myles Garrett on Sunday. The Browns traded veteran QB Joe Flacco to the Bengals on Tuesday, so Alex and I discuss what that deal likely means for both teams in addition to the Steelers. We also discuss the Week 6 trade that Baltimore Ravens have made. Is New York Jets WR Allen Lazard destined to become a Steeler at some point before the annual trade deadline arrives? Alex and I make sure to address that question during this show. This 96-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted, and we close things by answering a few emails that we recently received from listeners. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. Sustainable Digital Advertising: How Purpose-Driven Brands Can Reduce Their Carbon Footprint and Boost PerformanceDigital advertising powers much of the online economy, but it comes with a hidden cost: a significant environmental impact. In a recent podcast, Josh Elledge spoke with Avril Tomlin-Hood, CEO & Founder of boa, a strategic sustainable digital media buying agency. They explored how brands can take meaningful action to reduce emissions while improving ad performance, offering practical strategies for purpose-driven marketing.Making Digital Advertising Sustainable Without Sacrificing PerformanceAvril explains that digital ads consume energy across servers, data centers, and real-time bidding platforms, creating “scope 3” emissions that many brands overlook. She emphasizes the importance of auditing campaigns, measuring emissions, and eliminating waste in the media supply chain. By optimizing targeting, frequency, and placements, companies can reduce unnecessary impressions and improve return on ad spend.Choosing sustainable partners and platforms is another key step. Boa encourages brands to prioritize agencies and publishers that use renewable energy and have verified carbon reduction goals. Communicating these efforts authentically—through case studies, blog posts, and social media—helps brands build trust and demonstrate real commitment to sustainability. Finally, Avril highlights the growing role of AI and the challenges of “walled gardens” like Google and Meta, which can complicate planning while increasing energy consumption. She advises marketers to stay agile, evaluate environmental impact alongside campaign effectiveness, and start with small improvements that scale over time. Sustainable advertising isn't just responsible—it's often more efficient and profitable.About Avril Tomlin-HoodAvril Tomlin-Hood is CEO & Founder of boa, a strategic sustainable digital media buying agency. The Steelers won their battle across the pond and then took a week off. The bye week treated the Steelers well as everyone in the division lost. However, the Steelers first AFC North action debuts as the Cleveland Browns travel down the turnpike to Pittsburgh. Join your hosts Jeremy Kohlman, Wil Masisak, and Korey Karbowsky talk about the win over the Vikings, preview the matchups to know against the Browns, and try to remedy their picking prowess as they examine some other key games around the NFL in Week 6.
Do you think Steelers' head coach Mike Tomlin is paying attention to where other teams in the AFC North are? Adam Crowley and Dorin Dickerson discuss!
Mike Tomlin painted a pretty picture for the Steelers going forward after a bye week in which they received a lot of help. The Bengals also made a move and acquired Joe Flacco with the game in Cincy looming next Thursday. Is it safe to put this hay in the barn for the next 2 games? Chris was close to saying the Browns will come in here and beat the Steelers, sighting the close game they played against the Vikings. Should the Steelers be on upset alert?
Poni said he would give Mike Tomlin his AFC Coach of the Year for the first quarter of the season, if the award existed. There are also two coaches in the AFC South that are doing a helluva job. What about Mike Vrabel in New England after a big win on Sunday night? Poni said you can't deny that Tomlin has done a ‘good' job this season – you can't deny it. The one loss came to a team that looks to be pretty good.

TK said he would sign up for the Penguins being the worst team in hockey if it meant Gavin McKenna was on the roster this time next year. Is it more beneficial for McKenna to play in college, like he's doing at Penn State, or junior hockey? Tyler thinks we will be pleasantly surprised by how this team performs this season, giving credit to Dan Muse for a different voice in charge. TK believes multiple stars will be on the move at the trade deadline – Evgeni Malkin, Bryan Rust and Rickard Rakell. He thinks Geno would be willing to waive his no-movement clause to play for the Florida Panthers.

October 6, 2025 - Season 16, Episode 33 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Monday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about how the Pittsburgh Steelers essentially won their bye week on Sunday thanks to the other three teams in the AFC North division all losing their respective games. As part of our weekly housekeeping portion of the show on Monday, which is sponsored by Touring Plans, Alex and I dive even deeper into what happened in the AFC North division on Sunday and how Week 6 has the potential to be a great one for the Steelers when it comes the standings. Alex and I go over the Steelers injury situation heading into Week 6 and the news of the team filling their open practice squad spot early Monday morning. We go over why the Steelers currently sit at 3-1 entering Week 6 and the areas that team needs to improve in on both sides of the football as they exit their bye week. What should the message from Steelers HC Mike Tomlin be to the team on Monday? Alex and I attempt to answer that question. We also go over why the Cleveland Browns shouldn't necessarily be considered an easy win for the Steelers this coming Sunday at home. At this point, should the Steelers going 3-3, or worse, within the AFC North division be considered a huge disappointment? Is 3-3 good enough? Alex and I discuss that question and topic in the middle of this show. Should the Steelers be entertaining thoughts of trading for another wide receiver right now, or at least before the annual deadline? We make a segment out of that question and pinpoint a few teams and wide receivers that make the most sense should the Steelers decide to go down that path of exploration. This 82-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted, and we close things by answering a few emails that we recently received from listeners. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. On the Thursday episode of the North Shore Drive podcast, presented by FanDuel and Edgar Snyder & Associates, host Adam Bittner welcomes Post-Gazette sports columnist Jason Mackey to react to comments by former Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger fearing that Mike Tomlin, OC Arthur Smith and DC Teryl Austin could be outcoached in the NFL Week 4 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings in Dublin, Ireland. How much stock should fans put in Roethlisberger's comments as someone who knows the team well? Does he have a justified lack in faith in Tomlin and Co.? Or is he simply impressed by names like Kevin O'Connell and Brian Flores in Minnesota? And how much should his thoughts on Broderick Jones and the offensive line concern the fan base? September 24, 2025 - Season 16, Episode 28 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers bringing in free agent OL Nate Herbig in for a tryout on Tuesday. We go on to discuss the possibility of him being signed this week on the heels of the team losing OL Max Scharping to a knee injury last week. The Steelers' injury report for Week 4 looks about the same as last week's as we head into Wednesday's practice so we discuss whether CB Joey Porter Jr. and S DeShon Elliott might be able to return for the team's Sunday game in Dublin, Ireland against the Minnesota Vikings, Steelers HC Mike Tomlin held his weekly press conference on Tuesday and as usual, Alex and I recap the main talking points that came out of that session. We discuss a few very curious answers that Tomlin gave to questions on Tuesday. Should he really be blaming the lack of a consistent running game on the team's defense? We talk that answer out and go over what Tomlin had to say about the overall direction of the Steelers' offense through three games. Tomlin talked about the team's travel preparation to Ireland on this week on Tuesday, so we discuss that topic and a few other notable things that he had to say during his weekly press conference. With the All-22 tape from the Week 3 game against the New England Patriots now fully digested, Alex and I both deliver our additional thoughts from the Steelers' Sunday road win when it comes to the offense, defense, and special teams. We take a hard look at the Steelers' running game woes from Week 3 and the defense s ability to not get off the field on third and fourth downs in that contest. Alex and I discuss several positive performances from Week 3, and we also talk some about the offense's usage of 12 personnel through the first three games of the 2025 regular season. Later in the show, Alex and I discuss the New York Giants benching QB Russell Wilson this week and how that act impacts the Steelers when it comes to possible compensatory draft picks for 2026. September 17, 2025 - Season 16, Episode 25 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about the recent transactions that the Pittsburgh Steelers have made that included the signing of veteran ILB Ja'Whaun Bentley to the practice squad. We discuss what Bentley brings to defense and how he could see playing time right away if he is elevated from the practice squad on Saturday. The Steelers' injury report has once again grown some heading into Week 3, so Alex and I go over which players are already out for the Sunday road game against the New England Patriots and which players are currently deemed as being questionable for that contest. The Steelers made several transactions official on Wednesday morning, so Alex and I discuss those moves right after they were announced during our show. We discuss one of those moves being OLB/DL DeMarvin Leal being signed to the 53-man roster from the practice squad and another being DL Isaiahh Loudermilk being placed on the Reserve/Injured list with an ankle issue. Steelers HC Mike Tomlin held his weekly press conference on Tuesday and as usual, Alex and I recap the main talking points that came out of that session. We discuss Tomlin's thoughts on rookie RB Kaleb Johnson remaining on the kickoff return team for the near future. We also discuss the probability of Johnson being inactive on Sunday against the Patriots with it being very plausible that RB Trey Sermon could be elevated from the practice squad on Saturday. Several other talking points from Tuesday are also discussed throughout this show and Alex and I both discuss the hits Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers has taken so far and much, much more. We talk about the big plays of 15 yards or longer that the Steelers' defense has surrendered so far this season and how the team leads the NFL in that statistical category entering Week 3. With the All-22 tape from the Week 2 game against the Seattle Seahawks now fully digested, Alex and I both deliver our additional thoughts from the Steelers' loss against the Seahawks when it comes to the offense, defense, and special teams. We pass along several advanced stats as well as personnel usage from the game against the Seahawks as part of us recapping what stood out from the All-22 tape of that contest. Later in the show, Alex and I discuss how the Steelers were tied 14-14 with the Seahawks late in the third quarter of Sunday's home game and how the wheels came off the team right after Tomlin decided to punt near midfield with just one yard needed on fourth down. This 105-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted, and we close things by answering a few emails that we recently received from listeners. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices.
