What happens when the CEO of a successful digital podcast network calls you for an interview? You let out a scream (in your hand) and professionally say "yes." That's what happened in July 2019 when Mr. Bennie Randall Jr placed the call; besides an interview (subject- how to reinvent yourself) I would be on Vercay Magazine's cover! Coined "The queen of reinvention," during the podcast interview, we talked about unresolved abuse (as a teen) and its impact 40 years later. Unexpected, skillfully navigated, and this episode “trended” on LinkedIn. Vercay Magazine - https://www.vercayradio.com/vercay-magazine1.html This conversation is an uncut, transparent explanation of how I quit a job after 26 years - age 60, found the grit to reinvent myself and created a top-rated podcast. We advocate for African Americans seeking the help of a therapist and finding their voice.

What happens when the CEO of 2 digital radio stations, best-selling author, investor, keynote speaker, calls you for an interview? You let out a scream and professionally say “yes.” That’s what I did in July 2019. Mr. Bennie Randall Jr placed the call and I was ready – ready to talk about being on the cover of Vercay Magazine, interviewed by The Motivator himself! I thought the conversation would cover podcasting & reinvention, but we covered a need, one shared by many. We talked about unresolved abuse as a teen, & it’s impact 40 years later. This is an uncut, transparent explanation as to how I quit a job after 26 years, found the grit to reinvent myself and create a top-rated podcast. I recently departed from the Vercay Radio network. This week I look back at page 22 in my 1st book. Always take time to reflect - Check in with God, Spirit, Universe and let me add check in with yourself often! Lack of reflection costs you dearly. I forgot to check in with myself concerning this podcast becoming a business, and yes set aside celebrating the small wins . This proved to be a big mistake for 3 reasons I started to compare my growth to others and this proved to be very stressful. Do you know I put my 3 year business up against those rolling for 5, 10, 20 years - you see how that really caused anxiety? Whew ! I failed to reflect on the fact that I began podcasting as a business after age 60, coming from corporate there was much to learn and it had to happen "organically" but in these 3 years I have reached 2 million downloads / streams according to the major network Vercay, and 3 books ( solo publish & cooperative) I own - these are noteworthy strides not to be forgotten & celebrated! By not celebrating the small wins, it began to feel as though movement stopped, when in reality, the small - even tiny wins led up to the big things and joys along the way! Finally when I failed to reflect upon my journey, I backed away from telling my story, and to do so is how I set out to help the boomer woman leaving corporate and now reinventing herself. Reflection reminded me that my story is powerful and constantly being built upon! To not reflect upon your journey, check in with God, the Universe, yourself costs stress, missed joys, full energy to create and attract, innovative ideas, understanding next steps, relationships and most of all, it costs meeting your purpose & passion, your WHY.
