Archaeologists and anthropologists have labeled the many different ages in their models of the history of man, such as the “Stone Age” or the “Bronze Age.” Given its prominence in our current society, it would not be a wonder if future anthropologists were to label our culture the “Sex Age.” Full text here: https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/the-sex-age

My father was always fascinated by storms. News of one approaching would draw him to our small front porch, where he would stand, watching it build along the horizon. As a child, I would join him at times, staring into the dark clouds in the distance—seeing them move, swirl, and gather as they darkened further still, and wondering what they held in store as they drew closer to our home. The business of living life is full of many, many details. There are project reports to write, looming deadlines to meet, and a coffee spill on your desk that demands your attention. There are school forms to fill out and permission slips to sign while finishing your children's lunches as you see their school bus pull around the corner. Our eyeglass prescriptions need to be updated, our garbage needs to be taken out, and our dog needs to be taken to the vet. Details, details, details. Science has discovered so many amazing things about our universe! A National Geographic article (March 2007), for instance, discussed the work of astrophysicist Adam Burrows which suggests that intense sound waves are the key ingredient behind supernovas, the massive explosions that destroy dying stars. I just saw the movie “The Case for Christ,” based on Lee Strobel’s book by the same name, depicting his investigation into the facts of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. And what strikes me most is not Strobel’s search, but where it ended. Full text at - https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/lee-strobels-mistake-in-the-case-for-christ
Apparently, there is a growing topic of concern in Christianity these days: "Should children be in church?" One morning, as I sat going through the day's news, I read an interesting article on the matter in the Wall Street Journal—"Seen and Not Heard in Church," by Laura Vanderkam. All the reports and images we’ve received from the lunar landers, Mars rovers, Jovian orbiters, deep space probes and all other robotic explorers of our corner of the universe have carried the same message: It’s a mess out there. All of the planets and moons we have explored so far with our spacecrafts and rovers seem quite inhospitable. Every planet but one, that is: this beautiful world we call Earth. I believe in the risen Jesus Christ, Son of God, Savior of mankind. I believe that after His crucifixion on Passover, He was three days and three nights in the heart of the earth—as He said He would be. I believe He was then resurrected by His Father, restored to the glory He had with His Father before the world was. It seems like a ridiculous question to ask, but few get the answer right! Yet the truth can make a powerful difference in your life. Full text here - https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/magazines/2016/november-december/should-christians-keep-christmas
Growing up in the state of Texas, mountains were not really a big part of my visual vocabulary. I had seen them in books, photos, paintings and movies, but I had never seen one with my own eyes until I was... I recall my first real experience with hummingbirds. My wife had hung a hummingbird feeder from a pole behind our house, and after a few days the air itself seemed to be buzzing with the tiny birds. One was clearly attempting to dominate the space and would attempt to chase the others off, away from the feeder, but the other two or three would continue to come back for more, and before long there was a virtual "hummingbird war" going on! It has come to my attention this week—September 21, specificlly—is the 34th annual International Day of Peace, declared by the United Nations: a time to focus on "peacebuilding" and putting an end to war and conflict. A noble idea, to be sure. But in its celebration, will the essential ingredients to peace be discussed anywhere, by anyone? I was reading the comics today (not as much fun as it was when I was a kid, to be sure, but still a pleasant diversion in the morning) and one of the comic strips caught my eye.
On February 11, 2016, a group of very excited scientists announced that after patiently searching for decades they had discovered gravitational waves. - Full text at: http://www.tomorrowsworld.org/magazines/2016/may-june/einstein-god-and-gravitational-waves
Should Christians egg on a pagan festival? I believe in the risen Jesus Christ, Son of God, Savior of mankind.
