GUYS PUT AWAY YOUR PUMPKINS LET'S DRAG SUMMER OUT JUST A LITTLE BIT MORE and talk about some good old fashioned summer things like completing thru hikes (this episodes a couple of super exciting finishers!), eating mayo as sustenance, and flashing drones while on hikes. What? Didn't want to see our boobs? Then leave your drones at home! Today's guest is ray of sunshine (and podcast cover artist!) MEG DAVIS, trail name "Beans." We giggled A LOT but also got serious for a sec and talked about the complexities of the sometimes v toxic outdoors community that we both care about a lot (CW: sexual assault). Join us on this rollercoaster! Learn how metal bears are! Contemplate poop with us! And remember, we're rooting for you.
For our friends in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, 5 years have elapsed since Thanos snapped his fingers and instantly removed half the population in the galaxy. For Remember When, it's been over a year. Time travel is funny like that ;) Now that we're back from our extended stay on Titan, we've got some catching up to do... personally, and cinematically! We start the show with a spoiler-laden discussion on Avengers: Endgame. When we last left our Marvel heroes, they were scattered across the galaxy, like dust in the wind (too soon?). Endgame has the tough job of landing a story arc that has carried over 11 years and more than 20 movies. Did it succeed? What DIDN'T we like? Listen in and get settled, because we have thoughts. After that, we're gonna jump right into Spider-Man: Far From Home. Peter Parker's return from The Blip, and his extended stay on Titan, has some serious MCU repercussions. In the midst of this, we have some quick chats about Captain Marvel, Into The Spider-Verse (which, OMG, watch it on Netflix if you haven't yet!) and more. As the show closes, we also talk about The Matrix (two decades of Neo goodness!), the fade-out of the Netflix Marvel era, and more. Oh, and Jay's been a busy beaver in our show absence! Listen in at the end to hear what's in store for our next episode. We appreciate all our fans for your support, your words of encouragement, and your patience. Thanks for the emails, tweets, and Facebook comments you've left us in the past year! And if you haven't seen it yet, be sure and stop by our Facebook page for an idea of what lies ahead. Please note that we're no longer maintaining FilmTangent... it was a lot of upkeep for what amounted to being an extraneous channel. We're in vacation mode. Obviously. Because the stories we keep moving towards are 100% surrounding your travel destinations. What? Didn't you know that you could get travel advice from a paranormal podcast? This is more of a where not to go than a suggestion of places to visit!Kirsten's taking the lead this week and we're going on a luxurious vacation full of tropical breezes. Oh, and a creature that wants to eat you. Like, literally eat you. Hear the terrifying tale of an island that's tormented by an ancient spirit that isn't going for a jump scare but will attack you to the point that police don't even know how to handle the brutality. We're going to calm things down with Erin. In fact, we're heading to Oklahoma to a lovely little bed and breakfast called the Stone Lion Inn. It's a lovely little inn where you can rest, relax and get murdered.Oh, didn't I tell you? They host a murder mystery. Jeez, we wouldn't mix a murder up with this quaint little inn!But there is a mummy. Oh. What Passed, What Didn't, in Session of Legislature that Ended Monday
You didn’t see it coming, What? What! One day, you are intensely in love. You’re cuddling on the couch, reading love poems, feeding each other strawberries and playing with ‘whip cream’. Love between two people is the most dangerous of adventures and the most beautiful. To be loved can be the greatest of compliments and the greatest of burdens. "How could you have missed the signs?" Breaking up is never easy. Your ego and heart are bound to get injured. But, what if you could just see the breakup coming; it might make the whole relationship ‘thang’ easier to stomach. While hindsight is 20/20, there are always warning signals along the way. If you're alone right now, there's a healthier way of thinking that will better prepare you to make fulfilling romantic choices. DrBev, Emotion-R-Us, Psychotherapeutic radio talk show is here to assist you as you gain insight, define goals, and plan actions to achieve effective solutions to satisfying, healthy relationships with “self” and “others”. Learn how to turn everything in your favor when you seize the emotional initiative and take control of your life. What? Didn't they tell you love, passion and relationships are part of the human life condition. ACT LIKE YOU KNOW. HOLLA’ WHAT!!! Are you settling for the wrong person just because it's the right time; hoping to change someone into what you want them to be; not having the foresight to choose someone who can grow and change alongside you; wishfully believing that some magical, transformational person is waiting around the corner to whisk you to your exciting new life. The list is endless and at its core is the need to find someone -- anyone -- to be with, at least until someone better comes along. Emotions can weaken and strengthen our reasoning!!! Not all relationships have to be permanent to be worthwhile. The mission of today’s show is to save you time, pain, and suffering.
