Launch Your Box Podcast with Sarah Williams | Start, Launch, and Grow Your Subscription Box
If you want a strong Q4, your work starts now. Too many subscription box owners treat the 4th quarter like it starts in November. But if you want October sales to be strong – and if you want to ride that momentum straight through the holiday season – your prep needs to start in late summer. In this episode of The Launch Your Box Podcast, I'm walking you through four things you can do right now to set yourself up for your best Q4 yet. Whether you're running a subscription box, selling one-time products, or offering holiday gift subscriptions, these steps will help you plan, promote, and sell with confidence, instead of scrambling. And because I know this can feel overwhelming, I'm also inviting you to join me inside my Ultimate Q4 Planning Workshop, where we'll spend one focused day mapping out your entire quarter, together. Q4 is the biggest sales quarter of the year. Some small business owners make half their annual revenue between October and December. But here's the mistake most people make: They think Q4 starts when they post their first Black Friday sale. By that point, you've already missed valuable weeks of visibility and momentum. The truth? Q4 success starts at the end of Q3. Before October arrives, you should already know: Which promotions you'll run and when What products (and how much) you'll need to make them happen How you'll market each offer If you can't answer those questions yet, you're already behind. Step 1: Plan Your Q4 Promotions Now Start with the end in mind when you answer the question, “What are you going to sell?” Step 2: Grow Your Following + Your Email List You need both visibility and ownership heading into Q4. Step 3: Warm Up Your Audience Don't wait until you're ready to sell to show up. If someone joins your list in August and doesn't hear from you until November, they're not likely to buy. Warm-up content builds trust and anticipation so that when you do make your offer, people are ready to say yes. Step 4: Keep Your Plan Simple, But Real You don't need to create every caption, email, or ad today. But you do need to know what you're promoting, when you'll promote it, and how you'll promote it. That's exactly what we'll do together in my Ultimate Q4 Planning Workshop. In one day, we'll: Plan your promotions Map your marketing calendar Identify the emails and posts you'll need Forecast inventory and shipping timelines You'll walk away with a complete Q4 roadmap. Ready to execute, no scrambling required. If Q4 usually feels like chaos, this episode will show you how to change that. Listen in for practical steps you can take this week to get ahead. And find out how to join me for the Ultimate Q4 Planning Workshop, so you can head into the busiest season of the year feeling confident and in control. In this episode of the TestGuild DevOps Toolchain Podcast, host Joe Colantonio sits down with Jennifer Rahmani, Co-founder and COO of Thoras.ai, a company redefining how infrastructure scales with AI-driven predictive technology. Drawing from her years as a DevOps engineer in the defense tech sector, Jennifer shares how she and her twin sister turned real-world frustrations into a reliability-first platform that eliminates the guesswork from scaling. We discuss how Thoras.ai integrates with Kubernetes to predict workload demand minutes—or even hours—in advance, allowing teams to maintain high availability without overspending. Jennifer explains why they use the right AI for the right use case, how their predictive autoscaling works in multi-cloud and hybrid environments, and how it helps SREs avoid downtime during unpredictable events like Black Friday or major product launches. Whether you're dealing with noisy data, high cloud bills, or sleepless nights worrying about reliability, this episode delivers practical insights for making smarter scaling decisions.
Frenetic crowds are storming the White House like a Black Friday mob at Walmart!Only these are not shoppers scrambling for family needs – these are CEOs, lobbyists, and billionaires out to “get theirs” in the huge Trump-a-Thon sell-off of Presidential favors. Common folks need not apply, since MAGA, Inc. (Trump's political fundraising sack) charges a million bucks or more just to buy access to his golden throne.Once there, everything is for sale. One cryptocurrency huckster, for example, delivered his million to get into a candlelight dinner at Mar-a-Lago, where he pitched a business deal to Trump himself. Then, for an extra $200,000, the crypto-guy was allowed to “sponsor” the annual Easter Egg Roll on the White House lawn. Yes – they've even financialized and corporatized an apolitical, publicly-funded event for children! Not only is Trump being bought by Big Money, but he's also available for short-term lease. For example, rich businesswoman Elizabeth Fago leased him in April for some heavy lifting on a household chore. Her son Paul had been found guilty last year of tax crimes and was headed to prison. But a million dollar check to MAGA Inc. put her in direct touch with Mister Fix-It. Sure enough, once her check was cashed, the fortunate son was granted “a full and unconditional” presidential pardon – no jail time, no payment of restitution to his victims. When the New York Times asked about such corrupt selling of official favors, MAGA Inc. declared that Trump treats every American the same. So, there you have Trump's million-dollar definition of “American.” If you've got the million, you're in the club. If you don't, you're not.Jim Hightower's Lowdown is a reader-supported publication. In this episode of The Chad & Cheese Podcast, hosts Chad Sowash and Joel Cheesman—HR tech's dynamic duo of snark and smarts—serve up a buffet of industry drama with their trademark banter that'll have you chuckling harder than a recruiter dodging ghosting complaints. They start by painting a gloomy economic picture, complete with workforce imbalances that feel like a bad Tinder match, plus a heartfelt nod to breastfeeding support at work (because who doesn't love a good "pumping up the team" pun?). Things get real with layoff laments, treating employees like yesterday's LinkedIn spam. Shout-outs go personal with fantasy football eulogies (RIP to those dream teams) and event plugs, alongside travel tips for jet-setting talent hunters—pro tip: pack extra patience for airport security feels. The meaty bits? SAP snapping up SmartRecruiters like it's Black Friday shopping for ATS upgrades, pondering if AI recruiting will finally make hiring less of a dumpster fire, and how it'll mesh (or clash) with SuccessFactors. Earnings chit-chat skewers Indeed and LinkedIn's numbers, roasting Indeed's Branded Boost as a "blast from the past" that's more regression than revolution. Wrapping up, they dissect the Workday lawsuit's AI bias bombshell—because nothing says "fun" like robots playing favorites—and the eerie rise of virtual hotel check-ins, where your front desk clerk might be outsourcing from halfway around the world. When Miranda Kerr was just 16, her mother's cancer diagnosis became a turning point prompting her to look closely at what she was putting in and on her body. That moment sparked a lifelong passion for holistic health and organic living, ultimately becoming the seed for KORA Organics. As a supermodel, Miranda spent years in the makeup chair—constantly exposed to products that prioritized quick results over clean ingredients. Frustrated by the lack of skincare that was both certified organic and truly effective, she decided to create her own. After three years of collaboration with leading chemists in the natural space, KORA launched in 2009 with a bold mission: to deliver high-performance skincare powered by uncompromised ingredients and grounded in wellness. What do housecleaning, morning coffee, weeding your garden, holiday meals, and even Black Friday shopping have in common? They're common rituals that can have important psychological benefits. In this episode, psychologist Traci Stein discusses how our mundane rituals can be powerful tools for grounding, cultivate feelings of pleasure, set the tone for our day, and even help us deepen feelings of connection. It's always silly when somebody says something true and it creates a controversy. Patrick Mahomes has belly fat. He's also changed the way the game is played and is the greatest player of his generation. Reaction to my buried in the back of the podcast comments Monday went viral after Mahomes' trainer came after me on social media. He's the first trainer in history to argue that belly fat is a good thing and, like a great democrat politician, the fanatics actually believe him. It's your option to find it charming and good... it's my job to point out the belly fat will be gone someday when Mahomes gets serious like other athletes in their 30's. Kansas extended their STAR bond offer to the Royals and Chiefs and immediately Chiefs president Mark Donovan says it will take nearly a year to put something on the ballot for the team to stay in Missouri. This is insane. The Royals are rolling but it feels like too little too late. A Pirates player in KC has an awesome list of no trade teams in his contract as he obviously hates income taxes. Ron DeSantis has a better plan, a perfect plan, for Elon Musk. Mayor Q takes a dip in a new pool with a shirt and tie on and I think it's a very cool thing for him to do. Buc-ee's construction at the Speedway is delayed a couple months and Amazon Prime Day is now bigger than Black Friday.
In Hour 3, Mark Thompson kicks off with a preview of Amazon's first-ever 4-day Prime Day event, spotlighting the can't-miss deals and how it's become the Black Friday of the digital age. Then, Mark shifts to the flood risk facing parts of California, connecting lessons from Texas's recent catastrophe with an SF Chronicle warning about our own vulnerabilities. Later, Mark unpacks Israeli PM Netanyahu's visit to D.C. and his aims for Gaza's future governance—and discusses the surprising move to nominate President Trump for a Nobel Peace Prize. The hour wraps with a breakdown of Trump's much-hyped “big beautiful bill” and what it could mean for Californians.

ERLY was founded by two friends and mothers—dermatologist Dr. Hallie McDonald and Jamie Chandlee—who saw firsthand the rising pressure their daughters faced from the overwhelming beauty industry. With a flood of trendy products and unrealistic standards, they knew something had to change. Hallie, in her dermatology practice, was increasingly treating young patients suffering from the side effects of harsh skincare fads. Together, they launched ERLY: a clean, effective, and gentle skincare line designed to nurture, not harm. ERLY's customizable system empowers users to mix targeted serums into their moisturizers, creating simple routines that meet individual skin needs. Rooted in early sun protection and barrier support, ERLY champions feeling good in your skin without the noise. Their mission is clear: strip away the pressure, keep it clean, and help everyone glow a little earlier. In this episode, Dr. Hallie McDonald also discusses:The damage trendy skincare products were causing and how she set out to do betterWhy less is more when it comes to skincareHow to build confidence and good habits earlyThe importance of peptides and how they're safe, yet effectiveThe ability to customize your skincare with their mixing toolWe hope you enjoy this episode and gain valuable insights into Dr. Hallie McDonald's journey and the growth of www.itserly.com. If you've ever dreamed of leaving the suburbs for a slice of quiet country life, this episode will speak right to your heart. Author Melissa Ferguson joins me to share the real-life inspiration behind her new children's book, Our Friendly Farmhouse—a sweet and whimsical reflection of her family's journey from cul-de-sac to countryside. We talk about building a home from scratch, traveling with a big family, and slowly creating a homestead that feels peaceful, practical, and full of charm. Melissa offers encouragement and budget-friendly tips for anyone in the thick of building, dreaming, or simply trying to make thoughtful choices in the season they're in. In this episode, we cover: Melissa Ferguson returns to share the inspiration behind her debut children's book, Our Friendly Farmhouse, which tells a whimsical version of her family's move from suburbia to the country How a spontaneous land auction and a last-minute bid from her brother-in-law launched their homesteading journey The process of building their home from scratch—leveraging her husband's experience as a builder and funding parts of the project through social media brand deals Reflections on the early stages of their homestead—living in town during the build, missing the land, and making daily visits to the property A rich conversation about traveling with a big family—carry-on-only tips, spontaneous trips, dividing and conquering, and how animals (especially dairy cows) impact travel flexibility Melissa's best budget-saving build strategies: buying materials on Black Friday, repurposing gym flooring, and skipping high-end finishes in favor of upgrades over time Thoughtful advice on design choices—prioritizing natural light, southern exposure, adaptable floor plans, and creating cozy, lived-in charm Honest reflections on what she might do differently: adding a tornado shelter, skipping carpet, and not letting a gifted vanity dictate an entire bathroom design Why they chose to build slowly, add animals over time, and prioritize flexibility over going “all in” from the beginning The value of outdoor gathering spaces—daily porch coffee with her husband, chalk art and pickleball in the driveway, and simple spots that invite rest and connection View full show notes on the blog + watch this episode on YouTube. What if your most profitable campaign window isn't Black Friday or Cyber Monday… but after the holidays, when everyone else is quiet? While most marketers are winding down, savvy brands are doubling down—tapping into the “Q5” period between Christmas and early January, when ad prices drop, engagement spikes, and consumers are laser-focused on their New Year goals. Today we're digging into how AI is revolutionizing brand partnerships, why micro-influencers might be your secret Q5 weapon, and what smart marketers are doing to turn a slow season into a sales surge. To discuss this, I'd like to welcome Xavier de Baillenx, CEO of Ramdam, an AI-powered creator platform working with over 50,000 influencers globally. About Xavier de Baillenx Xavier de Baillenx is a serial entrepreneur and the Co-founder and CEO of Ramdam, an AI-powered platform that streamlines user-generated content (UGC) production for brands, optimizing every step of the creative process. Launched in 2023 by the same team known for their previous venture, Pretty Fun Therapy, acquired by Match Group (the company behind Tinder and Hinge), Ramdam empowers advertisers to connect with the right creators, delivering high-performing ads that elevate social media campaigns and eliminate the guesswork of the creative lottery. The platform quickly gained recognition, with brands like Allianz, Voodoo, and Colgate-Palmolive leveraging Ramdam to achieve up to an 80% improvement in performance compared to traditional UGC marketplaces. Ramdam's rapid success also led to securing $3.15 million in funding in October 2024 to accelerate its global expansion. Xavier's entrepreneurial journey began in 2013 when he co-founded Pretty Fun Therapy with his current team, a venture that was acquired by Match Group, the company behind Tinder and Hinge, in 2016. At Match Group, he led AI innovation, pioneering some of the industry's first consumer brand chatbots that engaged millions of users. With a background in digital development from his time at Universal Music, Xavier brings extensive experience in combining technology and creativity. He holds an engineering degree from CentraleSupélec. Resources Ramdam: https://www.ramd.am/ https://www.ramd.am/ The Agile Brand podcast is brought to you by TEKsystems.
