A couple of guys, sitting around, talking about the bible.
The Ancient & New podcast is a breath of fresh air in the world of Christian podcasts. It was by chance that I started listening after my daughter met the hosts, Thomas and Lee, in Spain and mentioned their podcast to me. Since then, I haven't missed an episode. As a Young Life mom, this podcast takes me back to the special time in my life when our basement was filled with high schoolers every Monday night. The chemistry between Thomas and Lee is unmatched, and their genuine love for each other and for sharing what God is doing in their lives is evident in every episode.
One of the best aspects of this podcast is the perfect balance between humor and wisdom. Thomas and Lee have a gift for storytelling that always leaves me laughing, but they don't shy away from diving deep into God's Word and providing encouragement and insight. Whether it's roasting a friend's sports allegiance or reflecting on the way God feels about us, their content never fails to uplift and inspire. The Christmas series called Promises was particularly meaningful to me as it reminded me to truly sink in and listen to the familiar story instead of just glossing over it.
However, there are no worst aspects to this podcast that I can think of. If anything, my only concern is that they might stop sharing their stories or mentioning their "one listener" whom they often joke about. But judging by the impact this podcast has had on my life during a difficult time after a terrible accident, I hope with all my heart that they continue to bless listeners like me with their wisdom and humor.
In conclusion, The Ancient & New podcast is truly one-of-a-kind. Thomas and Lee's down-to-earth approach coupled with their deep knowledge of the Bible make for an engaging listening experience. This podcast has become the highlight of my Thursdays, and I appreciate how it moves me closer to Jesus while also providing laughter and insight into God's Word. I highly recommend subscribing and leaving a 5-star review because this podcast is a true gem.
