(Orig. rel. 11/22/20) Season Two of Old-Time Radio Essentials continues! In this installment, our 2nd annual Thanksgiving Special, Pete, Paul and Dave present another of Paul's selections, this time an episode of Life With Luigi: THANKSGIVING CELEBRATION. Will our discussion lead to overeating? Will Dave go into a cranberry coma? TUNE IN AND FIND OUT! And since we're on the subject of discussion, we hope to determine whether this entry meets the following criteria: 1. Is it truly representative of that series? (Can anyone point to it and say, "Yes, that is what [NAME OF SERIES] was all about.") 2. Is it an episode worthy of inclusion in any and every OTR aficionado's private collection? So with this in mind, we three bring you, as our 18th installment (but 5th official episode of S2), this episode of Life With Luigi from 1949. We'll introduce the show, play it in its entirety, then discuss it at length. Thanks for joining us, and we hope you enjoy it! Please show your support of the podcast by doing any of the following! To comment on how we might improve OTR-E, or give suggestions for future discussions, please write to us at f6point3@gmail.com . Put the word "Essentials" in the subject line. Your feedback means a lot to us! A review at iTunes or at your usual podcatcher would be appreciated.
Hello listeners! In this episode Alana returns as a special guest as we all draft teams of sidekick characters from Disney animated movies. In the episode we talk about what constitute a sidekick character, what qualities we want in a sidekick, and Paul first thinks Whoopi Goldberg did a voice for Tarzana and then once corrected still mixes up Rosie O'Donnell and Rosanne Barr. Listen in and let us know which team you think is the best! Vote for the winner here! ...It's one thing to admit it and admit it openly but a whole ‘nother thing to put a label on it. I have now put a label on it. My time at Cornell has been tough. I have struggled and I'm almost coming out on top, still alive and gasping for breath but I made it. Graduation is around the corner; I still have a lot of questions but now I know that I would rather be at Hollywood than at..... I would rather be on TV than in front of it. Also, it took me so long but now I know that Jesus still loves me. He never left my side. I was lonely but never alone. I was always cared for even when I didn't ask for it.'Oh you'd be fine', ‘This too shall pass', ‘It'd soon be over', words that felt like non-existent hugs and fake smiles. You don't tell that to a girl who wants to sleep all day so she doesn't have to get out of bed to once again to sit in front of a laptop all day wishing that giving up was an option. You don't tell that to the girl who spends her daily bath time wondering what she's going to make of her life after grad school. You don't tell that to anyone, anyone at all, for whom their whole semester feels like a blur because they are on the verge of failing a graduation requirement class or dropping out of school. One thing this season proved to me anyways, is that God is the only thing that fills my void, what a friend I have in Him. Needless to say, I got lucky with my addiction. Some people never have the chance to break away nor come to admit that they need help or a way out. I look back and the only thing I see is the constant of who God was in all of it. I learned to truly kiss the (silent) waves that threw me against the Rock of Ages .On Christ, my solid rock, I stand because all other ground is sinking sand. I'm grateful for my faith and the opportunity to have built my foundation in Him. In Him, I live and move and have my being. Let all strivings cease because I have the mind of Christ. Anyway, the music stops now because I am no longer dancing with the one who seeks my downfall or destruction. I am no longer dancing with the devil....There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.-Maya Angelou An excerpt from Dancing with the Devil (Inspired by the True-Life story of Demi Lovato),written by Tolulope Esther Olukanmi

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone who celebrated! This is a special holiday podcast. Join me as I talk to Karim about some jaw dropping sleep paralysis, astral projection and lucid dreaming experiences. Sleep paralysis - a feeling of being conscious but unable to move. It occurs when a person passes between stages of wakefulness and sleep. During these transitions, you may be unable to move or speak for a few seconds up to a few minutes. Lucid Dreaming- A lucid dream is a type of dream where the dreamer becomes aware that they are dreaming. During a lucid dream, the dreamer may gain some amount of control over the dream characters, narrative, or environment; however, this is not actually necessary for a dream to be described as lucid. Astral Projection- is a term used in esotericism to describe an intentional out-of-body experience that assumes the existence of a soul called an "astral body" that is separate from the physical body and capable of traveling outside it throughout the universe. I just started a facebook group page for us all to connect on. Click here to check it out! This group is for everyone to share their experiences in real time. I also know that you can't leave comments on the podcast so this can also be a discussion forum for everyone that wants to discuss the episode or if they have questions. I just got home from the IAAPA expo in Orlando, and what I saw was an industry healing. And yet, as we pause this thanksgiving and look around the table, some seats sit empty. Most of us are missing loved ones this year, myself included. Last year, we dedicated our Thanksgiving special to Robbi Lepre, who had recently passed. Most haunts were unable to open at the time, and the vaccines weren't a thing yet. We've come a long way, but there's a still a journey ahead of us. But in re-listening to Robbi's episode, it's crazy how the sentiments from last year, apply today – maybe even more so. So today, I'm replaying last year's special – a celebration of Robbi Lepre. Listen and reflect on where we were, where we are, and where we're going. This special is presented in 4 parts. In Part 1 “Remembering Robbi: Lessons learned from a reluctant haunter” was written and performed by Scott Swenson. “Lepre'-isms” was written by Jeremy Pancoast and performed by Donald Kinsley. “The Future of Immersive Entertainment in The Post-Pandemic World” was written and performed by Ricky Brigante and Sarah Elger. In Part 2, The audio was taken from our 2018 event The Seasonal Attraction Leadership Symposium. Contributors for Part 3 are: Alex Crow, Chris Thomas, David Ruzicka, Dr William Ramsay, Martin Palicki, Todd Hougland, Samantha Grimaldi, Ray Kleim, Leonard Pickel, and Donald Kinsley. In Part 4, we heard from Cindy White, Kim Gromoll, Mike Wallace, Tom Geraghty, and Quan Gan. Subscribe: https://linktr.ee/hauntedattractionnetwork
In the spirit of this journey into The Adam Sandler Cinematic Universe that continues the "Adam And" theme your faithful curators also play dual roles by not only acting as the presenters of their findings related to 2011's Jack and Jill and its relation to the ASCU but also as the host companions of The Say Report. As an additional bonus they were able to get their Quiz Master General and partial inspiration for our journey, Will Fournier, to join in on the fun with a quiz that will hopefully allow us to show off our vast knowledge of the films of Adam Sandler in new and exciting ways.Comments can be directed to AdamSandlerCinematicUniverse@gmail.com and don't forget to follow us on Twitter @TheASCU
November is men's health awareness month. This topic is IMPORTANT to me. In today's episode we dive into why men in our lives, our workplaces, our communities are more susceptible to suicide, and what each of us should do about it. What we don't speak about, doesn't change. What we don't prioritize, doesn't change. But when most "solutions" amount to coping and managing with anxiety and deeply seated unhappiness, would you be inspired to take action? I'm here to beat this drum again: It's POSSIBLE to heal these mental health challenges completely. Anyone saying otherwise just hasn't helped someone to do it. When people ask me why I specialize in working with men, among other things, this is the reason. Men are underserved in mental health. I specialize to hold open a door that most people don't see is there. I specialize because the world is better when our men are present, emotionally powerful and adept, and free from the burdens that aren't necessary to bear and actually aren't helping anyone. Share with someone who needs to hear this. Show notes: https://www.palladiummind.com/calm-confident-happy-podcast/mens-health-awareness-2021

SHOW NOTES: Water is important in our daily life. Jesus, the Master Teacher, took an everyday chore and addressed a woman at the well in Samaria. Jesus broke through the cultural barrier – a Jew speaking to a Samaritan / a man speaking to a woman in public. Jesus always did the will of His Heavenly Father and on this day He offered “the gift of God” – living water. Next week: Our Thanksgiving Special!
