Many active ingredients are destroyed and not absorbed after consumption. Dr. Blair shares with us how he has applied this technology to the world of CBD using a solventless, CO2 extraction producing a full spectrum CBD product taken from the ariel parts of the Hemp plant. Dr. Emek Blair is the founder and developer of CELLg8®, a patented all-natural liposomal manufacturing process which more plainly spoken is a nutrient delivery system that has been shown to dramatically increase absorption of most vitamins, minerals, herbs, and cannabinoids. In this episode of CONNECTED with Mika we’re discussing: Looking beyond your current circumstances, knowing everything changes and that relief is just beyond the horizon of another day and that maybe you just "Haven't Seen It Yet"! These times of uncertainty are difficult for even the most optimistic of people. It's times like these that holding on to hope and believing you'll make it through these circumstances often requires deliberate thinking, a choice in what and who we will focus on. We all need motivation and encouragement, the question is where do we go when we feel empty, how do we pull our selves up when no one is there to cheer you on or speak words of affirmation and encouragement over you? For me, it's deliberately immersing my mind, heart, and soul into music that gives, life and hope. We all love a good ending to a dramatic movie that has us sitting on the edge of our seats and for me, the victory is hearing an anthem of overcoming, surviving and moving beyond adversity. No matter where you are in your journey of life press pause with what you are doing and then press play on our link to Danny Gokey's "Haven't Seen It Yet" and allow yourself to believe hope and change is just ahead. In this episode of CONNECTED with Mika: Navigating Through the Ins and Outs of Special Needs Trust Planning – (Part Two) Don’t let what you don’t know about special needs trusts, derail your loved one’s financial future. In this two-part series, Mika speaks with Haley D. Greer, J.D., The Arc of Texas’s Director of The Master Pooled Trust. In the first episode we discuss why a person with disabilities will most likely need a Special Needs Trust, how many types of trust are there and which one to use. Founded in 1950 by a group of parents of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, The Arc of Texas has been instrumental in the creation of virtually every program, service, right, and benefit that is now available to more than half a million Texans with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Today, The Arc of Texas continues to advocate for the human rights and self-determination of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in all aspects of society. One of the services The Arc of Texas offers is a Master Pooled Trust. A Mastered Pooled Trust is a pooled special needs trust managed by The Arc of Texas with approval from the Social Security Administration and the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. The goal of the Master Pooled Trust is to provide financial security to all people with disabilities, and thus a higher quality of life, knowing that their public benefits are safeguarded. The Master Pooled Trust was designed with lower fees and low minimum deposits. The low fees for establishing and maintaining a sub-account are attractive to families and beneficiaries, compared to a traditional bank trust. There are low minimum and no maximum limits on an account with the Master Pooled Trust. The Arc of Texas also knows and understands the issues families with disabilities face so we make accessing the money an easy process. Contact Information: Haley D. Early on in his career he was introduced to a simplistic, wholesome way of life where clean eating, exercise and taking basic nutritional supplements was the foundation for life. His journey and desire to provide his clients with exceptional care, going beyond the status quo, began after reading “Vitamin C and the Common Cold” a popular book by Linus Pauling. The book was first published in 1970, highlighting vitamin C, its interactions with common cold and the role of vitamin C megadosage in human health. The book promoted the idea that taking large amounts of vitamin C could reduce the duration and severity of the common cold. From that moment on Michael look at health and wellness from a different perspective and began to expand his understanding of nutrition, physiology and how marrying both health, wellness and medicine could help produce optimal outcomes for his clients. What is Autism Spectrum Disorder? What they may not tell you at diagnosis…. While autism spectrum disorder is a developmental disorder that can cause significant social, communication and behavioral challenges parents with children with autism often learn there is much more to this diagnosis than what is often outlined or discussed. We often say if you have seen one child with autism, you have seen one child with autism… Each person is a unique individual however through my hundreds of thousands of discussions with parents across the world I have found many attributes, and health conditions are much more common than we were led to believe. Whether you have a child newly diagnosed or you are the family member, friend or employer of someone who has a child with autism, I hope the symptoms discussed in this podcast will instill a sense of appreciation and even reverence for what many families who have children with autism endure and encounter. Many of you can relate to getting a neurotypical three-year-old ready and out the door in time in the mornings to try to make it to work on time, however when they have autism or are an 18-year-old, 180 lb. man child it can significantly complicate the most common occurrences or daily routines. So often family, friends and employers will have no idea of the extensive health conditions, sleepless nights, and tantrums that occur on a regular basis that parents deal with. Many children with autism can often experience a variety of the following symptoms or scenarios: Extended periods of not sleeping, sometimes days back to back. Night terrors that can last for hours with inconsolable crying. Picky eating habits that can at times have the child refuse food for hours and days if not provided a preferred food item. Gastrointestinal conditions that result in horrible bouts of painful constipation and diarrhea so acidic it scalds the child’s skin. Adverse reactions to chemicals and preservatives frequently used throughout the house or in foods. Seizures that can occur one after another, lasting days. Texture sensitivities that can lead to bouts of screaming and the stripping off of all clothing at any given location. Eloping in the blink of an eye, running off at any given minute. Parents unable to take their child shopping at the grocery or clothing store for fear of a melt down that results in items being grab or thrown. The need for the same song or TV show to play over and over and over again. These situations alone can take a parent to their limits when it occurs for hours especially when paired with sleepless nights. Take a moment to listen to this podcast to learn more about the many health conditions and scenarios families with autism encounter and how you can support them in their journey with patience, understanding and support.
Autism spectrum disorder is a developmental disorder that can cause significant social, communication and behavioral challenges. People with ASD look indistinguishable from you or I. It is typically their inability or difficulty with communication that sets them apart from others. People with ASD may communicate, interact, behave, and learn in ways that are different from most other people.
