In this solo podcast, I address the broader argument against aversive tools in dog training promoted by the AVSAB and the R+-only movement.Recently, Dr. Michael Bailey, President of the American Veterinary Medical Association, commented on the use of electronic collars in dog training. That comment triggered backlash and a strong response from Dr. Lisa Radosta, President of the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists.But this presentation is not about personalities.It's about the claim that aversives never have a place in dog training.Using peer-reviewed research, learning theory, and real-world outcomes, I examine whether the “no aversives ever” position is actually supported by evidence and what happens to dogs when ideology overrides results.At the end, I invite you, the trainers and owners, to share stories of dogs who are alive today because balanced training worked when nothing else did.Outcomes matter.

We start by discussing how prevalent it is, and the different types of violence against women, including intimate-partner, sexual, and honor-based violence. Mary sees him as worthy of worship and anoints him with costly perfume. The same tension exists for us. Will see respond to Jesus as a threat to what we hold dear, or worthy of it all?

In John 11:45-12:11, John shows us the responses to Jesus become increasingly polarized. The Pharisees see him as a threat and plot to kill him. Mary sees him as worthy of worship and anoints him with costly perfume. The same tension exists for us. Will see respond to Jesus as a threat to what we hold dear, or worthy of it all?

He is the author of Doctors by Nature: How Ants, Apes, and Other Animals Heal Themselves. In this episode, we focus on Doctors by Nature. We talk about four different ways that animals use natural products to fight infections and alleviate disease: prophylaxis; therapeutic medication; body anointing; and fumigation. We discuss whether animals know that they are medicating themselves, and whether these behaviors are learned or innate. We go through examples of monarch butterflies, apes that swallow leaves to dislodge worms, how bees combat pathogens, social distancing, nausea and neophobia, and why dogs eat grass. We discuss when humans started using medication, and how we can benefit from studying the medicating behaviors of animals. His latest book is Ideology and Revolution: How the Struggle against Domination Drives the Evolution of Morality and Institutions. In this episode, we focus on Ideology and Revolution. We first talk about how to understand social change, and the conflict between hierarchs and resisters. We discuss hierarchy and domination, and the role of morality and ideology in the struggle between hierarchs and resisters.
