Have you ever tried to share the good news of Christ with someone who has no intention of believing like you do? I have, and let me tell you what I am finding. What I am seeing with the ideological shifts our culture is taking, that much of the kind of evangelism today involves a conversational type of evangelism. Think of it like gardening, planting the seed, cultivating it, and then reaping the harvest. In this episode, I share you with you eight thoughts from the Proverbs that will help you when you are trying to reach a skeptic for Christ. She always considered motherhood to be the ultimate career, but she had no idea of the countless ways it would deepen and humble her. Many, many times she found herself unsure and struggling, only to discover God's strength at the end of her rope. She realized she experienced the grace she desperately needed when she took the time to slow her heart and listen for His still, small voice. Remember that you can always get in touch with us on our Facebook page, on Twitter, or with our Contact page. Don't forget to check the chapters tab in your podcatcher. This is a thing we're doing now, so keep an eye open for those.Lara Croft's adventure series Tomb Raider turned 25 this year - feeling old yet? - and we wanted to discuss the series with the help of The B. We also asked, friend of the show, Mad C to create some killer artwork for this one and we all agree that it's amazing. Make sure to click through to the full show notes to see the full image.Speaking of the full show notes, these show notes are a little shorter than the full ones (as they would take forever to download), so make sure you do checkout out the website for the full show notes - here's a link directly too them.Content WarningWe discuss Lara Croft and the Tomb Raider series in this episode, and naturally we had to talk about Lara being used by advertisers and the publishers of the Tomb Raider series for her sex appeal. Thankfully, this was a very short lived period of time - although, it should never have happened at all.As such, when we discuss Lara Croft in the cultural zeitgeist, we discussed her placement as a sex icon, and the sex appeal that the advertisers leant on her for. As such, this might spark uncomfortable conversations with any little ones who also might listen. Please listen responsibly. At 33:30, B had something to say and we felt that it leaving unedited was warranted. He said:We still have one hell of a long fucking way to go- The BNote from Jay:In this instance, B was talking about how, as a society, all people are still not seen as equal and given equal rights. And as producer and overseer of this production, I took the decision that we would leave that cuss in there. Not to politicise the show notes of a podcast about video games, but B has a point. And that's why I chose to leave the swear in.Please don't hesitate to reach out to us via our Contact Page, Twitter (DMs are open), or on Facebook if you think that I was in error with this decision.Show NotesRemember when Tomb Raider came out? We do, and it turned 25 this year. Twenty-five years old! imagine that.To celebrate this occasion, we brought The B back on to the show. This was largely because The B and Squidge have an encyclopedic knowledge of video games and when you pair them up, they become a force to be reckoned with. But in order to do this, we needed suitable Tomb Raider-y names. Our names were chosen for our favourite canon/series of Tomb Raider games - it's a whole thing. We're all big fans of these games, and Jay had taken to streaming Tomb Raider: Anniversary on our Twitch channel - plug, plug - shortly before recording this episode.Don't make me face my own mortality again!- The BBut before we could talk about the series, we needed to talk about the intro to the first game and the first level, and just where they take place. Apparently, we had no idea whether it was: Nepal Tibet Holland Venezuela Africa Beirut The Hanging Gardens of Babylon - Eddie Izzard references are cool, right? or New Mexico And we all agree that Lara Croft seems to be getting younger, whilst we all get older.Apparently, this is because the newer games are set before the first (chronologically) released game. Which lead Jay to attempt to tell a joke:I wanted to be a reboot, but they I took an arrow to the knee- JayWhich, we can all agree, was a pants attempt at a joke. And not even related to the topic of discussion.Jay's First Tomb Raider GameJay was the first to answer - probably because he's the oldest, or some other nonsense reason - with the first Tomb Raider game on the PS1. Even though his memories of the second game are a little stronger because he liked to use the cheat which made Lara explode when playing the first area of Tomb Raider 2.Full Show NotesMake sure to check out the full show notes for more discussion on the points we raise, some extra meta-analysis, and some links to related things.Which games do YOU think Nightdive should have a crack at next? Is Cate Archer a Disney Princess? Are the three of us old fogies for being upset about how old the PS2 is? What about the Pikachu FujiFilm printer case?Let us know on Twitter, Facebook, leave a comment on the show notes or try our brand new contact page.LinksHere are some links to some of the things we discussed in this episode: The_B on Twitter The B's current (at the time of the episode's release) writing gigs VideoGamer.com PlayStation Trophies Xbox Achievements Prince of Persia Apple II source codeWrite up of the game by the original developer NO ONE LIVES FOREVER - Trademark Details Tweet from Monolith about NOLF and Nightdive Official Nightdive Studios discord server A story on the FujiFilm Printer for the Switch And have you left us a rating or review? TeacherCast Educational Network (Full) – The TeacherCast Educational Network

In this episode of the https://www.teachercast.net/episodes/jeff-bradbury-show/ (Jeff Bradbury Show), Jeff discusses the 4 things that every podcast website needs to have to be efficient and successful. If you are a new listener to https://www.teachercast.net/ (TeacherCast), we would love to hear from you. Please visit our http://teachercast.net/contact (Contact Page) and let us know how we can help you today. 4 Critical Things Your Website Needs To Be SuccessfulA FocusEvery website needs a focus but not every website HAS a focus. When developing your website, there are only two major focuses that you should be thinking about…. YOU, and YOUR AUDIENCE. A Well-Organized Office SuiteOver the last few years, I have been asked the same question over and over … “how do you keep everything organized?” The answer is simple … GET ORGANIZED AND STAY ORGANIZED! Last year, I converted all my TeacherCast files from Google into Microsoft Office documents and started using https://www.teachercast.net/?s=microsoft+teams (Microsoft Teams) to keep everything neatly wrapped under one digital roof. Because of this system, I am now able to quickly create a series of templates that span weeks into the future saving me countless hours of prep time each week. Using applications such as Microsoft Teams, Planner, and Microsoft 365 has provided me not only with an organizational system from which I can build my business but also allows me to have more time at home with my family. Clearly Defined Landing PagesEvery website is made up of posts and pages, but what is the difference? Blog posts, podcast posts, and other like content are uni-themed pieces of content that are dynamic in nature. Your pages, however, are vehicles where not only your posts and podcasts live, but your audience spends the majority of their time. Creating landing pages that not only tell your story, but walk your user through a content journey will allow you to determine not only what they click on, but HOW they click on the content you are creating. Email MarketingIf you are looking to http://www.buildyouredubrand.com/ (Build Your EDU Brand), then email marketing needs to be always on the front of your mind. The ability to bring in a reader or listener to your website is easy, but capturing their email and allowing them the opportunity to be a part of your inner circle is a completely different ball game. Your email marketing starts on the top of your front page (no pop-up’s please) and ends months and months later when you convert those users into paying customers of your book, online course, or additional content. As one of the Top 20 Business Law Podcasts to listen to, call 760-784-9109 or email me from our contact page if you have a question. We’ll answer it on the show! We’ve all heard the warnings. “Whatever you do, don’t go into business with friends!” Or “Never start a business with family!” These warnings, often intended for your best interest, aren’t altogether fair. In many cases, those who warn you about such a partnership had a bad experience. And many times, this happens because they never had a formal partnership agreement in place.  A partnership contract is an absolute must, anytime you go into business with someone else. Whether you’re starting a digital marketing company with a cousin, launching a pet-sitting side gig with a friend, or joining forces with a former colleague to launch your own consulting firm, you need this vital agreement in place. Partnership agreements are legally binding contracts created to protect each partner’s investment. They also clearly define the responsibilities and obligations of each partner. Well-crafted partnership agreements also spell out the purpose of the business and include details about partner contributions and voting rights. In addition, a partnership contract will provide the course of action that will ensue, should a dispute occur. A carefully drafted partnership agreement can be the saving grace, designed to avoid miscommunication, and prevent legal problems. It keeps your business afloat, even when you and your partner(s) butt heads. The 5 Non-Negotiable Rules for Professional Branding

In this episode of the Jeff Bradbury Show, Jeff shares his 5 Non-Negotiable Rules for Personal and Professional Branding. If you are a new listener to TeacherCast, we would love to hear from you. Please visit our http://teachercast.net/contact (Contact Page) and let us know how we can help you today. 5 Rules of Personal and Professional BrandingBe Hyper FocusedThis first one is important and a rule that I often break. When you are trying to create something that you want people to remember you for, it’s critical that you stay hyper-focused. When a user comes to your website, listens to your podcast, or sees you on Social Media, you want them to instantly connect with not only who you are, but what your message is. This will help you not only stay on brand but keep you focused on hitting your target avatar. If you create content in multiple content streams it gets messy and tends to confuse your audience who will eventually grow to expect a certain type of content from you each week. On TeacherCast, the content is broken down into 5 distinct categories, General EdTech, Instructional Coaching, Website Design, Podcasting, and Build your EDU Brand. It is possible that someone will visit the website interested in learning about all these topics, but more likely that they are visiting for only one topic and not interested in the others. For this reason, I offer them multiple Social Media accounts where they can feel like they are getting the content they are interested in without being bombarded by content they are not interested in. If you look at many of the larger brands, this same philosophy applies. They might have a Twitter account for their company and an individual Twitter account to support individual applications or programs within the company. For smaller companies and those just getting started, I don’t recommend this method at all. When starting as a new brand, companies should create a single brand that is memorable, on point with their content and most of all, hyper focused on their company message. Be AuthenticOne of the biggest lessons that anyone can learn early on in their brands is the ability to become vulnerable and authentic with their audience. It is extremely difficult to gain a subscriber, attract a podcast listener, or entice a company to work with you. On the other hand, it’s extremely easy for someone to click the unfollow or unsubscribe button and walk away forever. Have you ever thought about how much time it takes you to gain a follower, a subscriber, or like? Out of all the 5 Rules, this is the most difficult one to live up to. Being Authentic means being vulnerable. You must put yourself “out there” to your audience in a way that makes them not only know who you are, but care about you enough for them to want to come back to you for added conversations. For some content creators this is easy. I often see educators at conferences who have a talent for being in front of groups and letting themselves be present in the moment. For me this is scarry. For the longest time, I put up a wall between myself and my audience. For the first several years of TeacherCast, I even (on purpose) omitted my name from the website. Even to this day, I still refer to TeacherCast as “it” or in the third person. Often, I when asked how the website or podcast is doing, I respond with “it’s going great” or “we are doing some good things together”. In hindsight, this is a defense mechanism to hide how proud I am of my accomplishments and how much I am proud of how many people the podcast has affected over the years. About 4 years into TeacherCast, I decided to add my name to the sidebar on the front page. This was a BIG STEP and a step that only happened once I met someone at a conference who said something shocking to me. They said, “I listen to your podcast all of the time, but I would never know it was you because you never mention your name on the show.” (#Ouch)...
