Vera speaks with Sam Jordan, a suicide attempt survivor, as a guest on the Do You Podcast today to talk about suicide ideation. Suicide is a feeling of having vague thoughts about ending your life or believing that others would be better off without you. Suppressing one's emotions, whether it's anger, sadness, grief, or frustration, can lead to mental and physical stress to someone. According to Sam, self-harm appeals to those aged 11 to 13. Since some people do not want to talk about their thoughts or express their emotions in front of others. She states that the source of her suicidal ideas was a need for attention, and she learned that as individuals grow older and mature, they will be able to handle their thoughts and feelings differently. --- Follow Vera on social media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/vera.stepina Instagram: @vera_stepina Visit us at: https://www.slimgymtransformation.com

In this episode of the Do You Podcast, Vera talks about The Reason Behind Failures. You've probably heard this one before, but Vera proves that it's true all of our life: sometimes you don't get the results you want out of a fitness program. Sometimes you fall into this rabbit hole and tell yourself you're a failure. But - and here's the thing - Vera says the reality is that your failure isn't a failure at all. It's just disappointment, plain and simple. And at the core of most of our "failures," we discover that there are beliefs we hold on to that aren't serving us anymore. The key to overcoming those beliefs is self-awareness and understanding what red flags to look out for so they don't keep happening. Listen to Vera as she explains how to rewire the brain and examine what beliefs we hold onto in different situations! --- Follow Vera on social media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/vera.stepina Instagram: @vera_stepina Visit us at: https://www.slimgymtransformation.com
Today's podcast, Vera Stepina, is with her client Elena Borodina, who recently graduated from the Mind and Body Transformation Program. However, she said joining the program helped her change her lifestyle, built self-confidence, and gave her positive health knowledge to take control and be in charge of her health. --- Follow Vera on social media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/vera.stepina Instagram: @vera_stepina Visit us at: https://www.slimgymtransformation.com
In today's episode, Vera Stepina is joined by her guest Heather. They discuss perfectionism, which is an illusion we make for ourselves. Heather discusses her nutrition, which lengthens the spectrum and makes it excellent for the garbage. She claims that our subconscious seeks perfection, which equals procrastination because we are afraid to do things and have been taught that we are unworthy. People limit themselves by labeling and creating an illusion of gaining attention and affirmation. They said there is no specific outcome since you can't predict the future. However, you can't be perfect, but you may aspire to be better. --- Follow Vera on social media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/vera.stepina Instagram: @vera_stepina Visit us at: https://www.slimgymtransformation.com
In this episode, Vera talks about the importance of shedding your expectations and hopes that can lead you to disappointment. She helps women change their lifestyle and mistakes that cause by a lot of unreasonable expectations. And people who want to lose weight should have flexible boundaries with expected results. Also, you have the choice if you let your entire life be affected by beliefs based on the story we continuously create in our heads that we call "What ifs." Your life will continue to become better when you start realizing that it doesn't matter what you hope for tomorrow or what you expect from tomorrow. --- Follow me on my social media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/vera.stepina Instagram: @vera_stepina Visit us at: https://www.slimgymtransformation.com
Are there reasons you're doing what you're doing? Why are you pursuing a goal, putting in the effort, or practicing a sport? It seems like we have this constant need to compare ourselves. And this is especially true in social media. Today Vera focused on the quote, "Pro makes it look easy, amateur thinks it is," where the beauty of someone else's accomplishments can be a huge motivator, but the pressure to match or exceed that person can add a lot of stress in your life. She said end up worrying if you're "as good as them" and go back to master your basics. So stay focused on learning your fundamentals and not getting caught up in what others do. --- Follow me on my social media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/vera.stepina Instagram: @vera_stepina Visit us at: https://www.slimgymtransformation.com
Vera Stepina recently had a good interview with Scott Whipple, one of her clients who joined the military. They talked about finding happiness and making decisions. He stated that people are never fully happy because we're always looking for a change, and with something, we aren't satisfied. Also, they talked about getting older, being afraid to make decisions, the difference between a mature and an immature person, enablers in a relationship versus an unsupportive partner, being much wiser, and having the wisdom to have a greater perspective in controlling your emotions. --- Follow me on my social media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/vera.stepina Instagram: @vera_stepina Visit us at: https://www.slimgymtransformation.com

If asked, every person would define freedom differently. For some, it's being financially independent. For others, being able to decide what to do with their free time. But as Mel and I discuss in this episode, unless you have personal integrity and have freed yourself from the opinions of others, you won't find freedom in money, free time, or other places. What is self-integrity and how does it define the life you're living right now - tune in to find out. Often, we hold grudges. Family, friends, teachers - you name it. So many people might have had a huge influence on how your life turned out. However, we need to understand that blaming people and events on how our life is going TODAY, does nothing to us except prevent our growth. Yes, they said things, so what? In every situation, WE have a choice to make. Holding grudges and living in the past prevents you from experiencing the present and creating your future. Learn to leave the past in the past and pay attention to what you're paying attention to - which is today and right now.
Today I am talking with Shane Arnott, the man wearing many hats. Dad, husband, entrepreneur, the athlete just to name a few. In this episode, we are talking about human psychology in a way everyone can relate to. Shane is a sales director for a Pro Coaching Academy, a business coaching program that helps online coaches create impact and build a sustainable business. Shane explains that sales are just a conversation between the coach and a prospect where they get to know each other and decide on the next step. We talk about failures and that they are not just a part of everyone's success, but an essential part. You have to want to fail if you want to succeed. Success is built on failures, all successful people know that, but often it's not visible to the beginners as they expect everything to happen fast and exactly how they envision it. Which is not how it works at all. Tune in to our chat, and reach out to Shane if you want to take your business to the next level and create sustainable success.
When you first hear “Life In Chains” you might think it's a bad thing. After all, nobody wants to live their life in chains, right? Well, in the case of Jon's book “Life in Chains”, it's actually a good thing. He looks at the chains of habits he built throughout his life and encourages us to do the same. All our habits and behaviors are connected to each other, and if we can take links out or add new ones, we can completely change the direction in which our life is moving. In this episode Jon and I are talking about human behavior, we touch on religion and addictions and talk a little bit about parenting. You can purchase Jon's book here: https://www.amazon.com/Life-Chains-Behavior-Science-Unthinkable-ebook/dp/B098TX8CVY
Creating your own problems, and how it is a good thing. You think you have problems in your life. You're right. You think that's bad. Well, not necessarily. Oftentimes we just assume that if we solve THIS one problem, we're good to go. That's not always the case. Every problem we have in our life right now is a result of something else, and often is a result of a success we have had or a result of a decision that will bring us amazing results in the long run. Tune in to learn more about problems, and how to learn what problems are worth solving - and also how to create better problems for yourself.
Today, I had the honor to chat with Desiree Kashey. Desiree is the wife of Dr. Trevor Kashey, the CEO of Trevor Kashey Nutrition. He is hands down one of the smartest, most interesting people I have met in my life, but most people don't know that his wife is a phenomenal, wise, and intelligent woman who also knows how to crack a good joke. I got to know her over the years I worked with Dr.K, and our conversations have always been incredible. Desiree and I had a pretty great conversation that covered multiple topics including running a cognitive nutrition program, breastfeeding babies, and eating herring undercoats. Give it a listen, and reach out to her team if you are looking to learn more about yourself and make some changes in your life.
How many times have you started something and stopped because you couldn't stop thinking about all the things you couldn't do? This is more common than you think (sorry you're not special), but there is a solution. Vera and Kayla chat about what is often a very common approach for many people when they start a new journey (and get discouraged pretty quick) Let's look at this from a different perspective and find what you CAN do right now vs stressing about all the things you can't do
The pandemic we aren't talking about. Child obesity. This topic is being avoided and ignored. If your doctor brings it up, you get offended. How dare you call my child fat!!! Yet deep inside you know it. You know they are overweight, and you KNOW it's your fault. Well, let's talk about that. Let's talk about the severity of this pandemic. Let's make a change - YOU need to lead, NOW.

Can you handle the truth? Everyone wants to hear the truth...until it relates to them, and then nobody actually wants it. Being able to recognize your blind spots is essential if you want to get out of your own way and start making progress. So. CAN you handle the truth or am I an asshole?
"If I follow this plan, I will lose 2 lbs/week, then 10 lb/month, 60 lb in 6 months"... but then YOU DON'T - WHY??? Should I change something? Should I give up? Here's why and what you should do People don't change. You don't change. What often appears as a change is simply a change in behavior. You? You've always been this person, but the stories you've written about yourself and others, the stories you are trying to FIT INTO - that's not you. Cover up, that's all it is. So can a person truly change? I am going to tell you what I think about that.
In this episode, Vera interviews her client, Elena. Elena talks about her journey with Vera and her program and the goals she has accomplished. Elena has made great improvements while being in Vera's program, and shares about her lifestyle before it and the improvements in her life after she joined. Vera also goes over questions with Elena about the things she did in the program and how she was able to accomplish her goals.

We always look up to people who have a “badass” status. But what makes them badass? People refer to me as a badass too, often, and I disagree with that. What the badass title carries, is often a cover-up for something else. Are you ready to discover it?
Hanging out with Kinde Malott and talking about why you aren't where you want to be. All the things you THINK you need to do OR things you THINK will happen...but aren't true. Stick around for: -"I don't own a boob" -"If you don't have an ass, it's harder to get a big one -"Ladies have a hard time spending money on bettering themselves because "PRIORITIES " -"Your husband isn't going to ask you if we can "afford" a new rifle" -"If it's the truth you can say it"
What really goes on behind "I am not perfect" and how this actually holds you back from making incredible progress.
We all follow inspirational people on social media. You may even know some in person. Now let me ask you a question, how did that ACTUALLY help you make a change in your life? Scrolling down your Facebook feed, looking at the inspirational posts they share... Did you make a move or did you say to yourself “this is inspiring, I wish I had the courage?" Let me tell you. Courage comes with action. That can be scary but being inspired doesn't help. You have to take action.
Very often, before making an important decision about a change, we observe obstacles that can get in our way. Unfortunately, most of the time, the obstacles aren't real and were created by OURSELVES. There are many reasons why we put them in the way of our success, and it's important to be able to observe our behavior and understand what's real and what's made up. What obstacles do you put in your own way that prevent you from being successful?
