Episode Summary In this episode of Business Coaching Secrets, Karl Bryan and Rode Dog dive into practical and mindset strategies for attracting high-end coaching clients, building a sustainable and "retirement-proof" coaching business, and the critical importance of identity in business success. Karl reflects on a recent lead generation event, offers a thoughtful breakdown of the viral Alex Hormozi and Tony Robbins interview, and participates in a rapid-fire "word association" game revealing his take on topics like retirement, high-end clients, and self-improvement. The conversation is packed with actionable advice and hard-hitting truths about coaching, growth, mindset, and professional identity. Key Topics Covered Lead Generation & Event Insights Karl recaps a high-performing coaches' lead generation event, where attendees shared actionable methods for generating 100 leads in 90 days. Emphasis on peer experience rather than polished, motivational keynoters—real coaches in the trenches showing their actual tactics. The Power of Identity & Mindset Karl stresses neuroscience-backed wisdom: "You can't change who you are until you change who you think you are." Developing lasting change starts with the stories you repeatedly tell yourself about your abilities as a coach/lead generator. Reflections on Hormozi & Tony Robbins' Interview Vulnerability as a growth tool: Hormozi's openness and willingness to go deep emotionally is highlighted as the real value of the interview. Contrasts top-down (Tony Robbins: mindset, action) vs. bottom-up (addressing trauma, granting yourself permission to pause) coaching approaches. Rapid-Fire Coaching Topics: Word Association Game Karl offers fast, punchy wisdom on topics including "Retirement" (build income, not just net worth), "High-End Clients" (serve by identity and strategic fit), and "Improvement" (compound 1% daily gains). Importance of adapting communication for different clients and recognizing that contentment comes from better problems, not escaping challenges. Notable Quotes "You can't change who you are until you change who you think you are." – Karl Bryan "It's $400 if you buy it, but it's worth $400,000 if you apply it." – Karl Bryan on the value of event insights. "You don't want to retire with net worth—retire with income. The best definition of wealthy: monthly passive income above monthly burn." "High-end clients buy on identity—lower-end buy on utility." "A winner never stops—the losers never start." Actionable Takeaways Focus on Identity Statements: Audit your inner "I am" beliefs. Are you the coach who easily lands clients, or one who struggles? Upgrade your self-story. Train, Don't Just Study: Success is built on 10,000 reps, not 10,000 hours. Put frameworks into daily, repeated action for skill mastery. Seek Better Problems, Not No Problems: Aim to graduate from cash-flow challenges to higher-level issues—staff, strategy, growth. Contentment equals having better business problems. Serve High-End Clients by Speaking to Identity: Market to multi-seven-figure business owners with messaging around identity and aspirational outcomes—less about utility, more about strategic value. Retirement = Income, Not Just Savings: Structure your business life to create recurring income, not just pile up net worth, so you can endure longer and avoid "running out the clock." Build Proof Before Sales Prowess: If confidence is lacking, rack up small wins (even pro bono) to fill your mental "trophy room" and solidify your coaching certainty. Allow Yourself to Pause: Permission to step back doesn't mean quitting—strategic pauses are sometimes necessary before returning to the fray. "Don't quit. Pause." Leave an Amazon Rating or Review for my New York Times Bestselling book, Make Money Easy!Check out the full episode: https://greatness.lnk.to/1735"I don't need to worry about money again. I know how to make money. And it was such an empowering feeling." - Leila HormoziLeila Hormozi was 21 years old when she closed her first personal training sale for $1,300. She wasn't confident. She didn't believe in herself. But in that moment, something clicked that most people spend their entire lives trying to understand: money is a skill, and skills can be learned. "From the words that came out of my mouth to somebody," she remembers, still struck by the power of that realization. For the first time, she wasn't dependent on a job, a boss, or luck. She had discovered she could create value with her own abilities. But here's what's different about Leila's story: at every new level, the doubt came back. When she'd proven she could make $1,300, she wondered if she could make $20,000. Then $50,000. Each time, she didn't believe it until she did it. Her secret? She acts before she believes. She moves before confidence arrives. She borrowed this from a concept called "acting the opposite": if you want to be different than you are today, act like that person first. The feelings catch up later.Fast forward to today, and Leila is making investment decisions worth millions. Two years ago, she lost close to $10 million on a bad investment. The company wasn't what she thought. The money was gone. And her response? "That's the cost of making money." Because she's learned something most people never grasp: there's a direct correlation between how much you're willing to lose and how much you're willing to gain. If your mind is constantly focused on not losing, you'll never open yourself up to making more. The same decision-making principles that led to that $10 million loss also led to crushing wins in other investments. Sometimes the outcome just doesn't work out, but the process stays sound. Leila doesn't wait to feel competent before she acts. She acts until competence builds, and then confidence follows. This isn't about positive thinking or manifestation. It's about understanding that the experience creates the skill, the skill creates competence, and competence finally creates confidence. You can't think your way into believing you're capable of something. You have to do your way into it.Sign up for the Greatness newsletter: http://www.greatness.com/newsletter Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. I spent two years scaling the wrong business and one conversation with Alex Hormozi's Chief Strategy Officer reframed everything. Here's what happened: I'd built a consulting business to $50K/month doing sales audits and fractional management, but I thought "this isn't scalable." So I pivoted—created courses, built a community, started teaching people how to turn expertise into income. I ended up in a sea of competition selling to the wrong audience at the wrong price point. His CSO said: "Dude, you solved the wrong problem. The problem wasn't 'this isn't scalable.' The problem was 'you didn't know how to scale it yet.'" He showed me around their 20,000 square foot building with 400 people and said, "We don't use the word 'scalable' here. Some things are just way harder to scale than others. That's why Alex and Leila own 50 companies." This episode breaks down what happened next: I killed the community, threw the courses on YouTube, and said "I don't teach this shit, I do this shit." We launched MSP Sales Partners doing fractional sales management—the thing I was actually great at—and spent a year refining the product before stepping on the gas. Learn why I'm intentionally running net neutral right now to build a moat nobody else will, why being picky with hiring and delaying profits creates competitive advantage, and how that subtle twist of words—"you didn't know how to scale it" versus "it isn't scalable"—changes everything.//Welcome to Repeatable Revenue, hosted by strategic growth advisor , Ray J. Over 80,000 (and counting) businesses have paid me for marketing advice. And for most of them, one of the biggest "sticking points" is the copy. But not what you think. The hardest part isn't writing the words. It's finding the Hook. The Big Idea. The Angle. Once you have that, the rest is easy. But finding it usually takes forever. So today, I'm going to show you how to use AI to find a multi-million dollar hook... in less than 3 minutes. And we're going to do it without typing a single prompt. We're going to take a random transcript of an Alex Hormozi interview and write a sales letter that sells it. (We're using Hormozi's video as an example. Naturally we're not actually going to sell my man's stuff.) Anyway, here's how we'll use AI to find the $22MM hook ...and then turn it into a sales letter: Step 1: "Brain Dump" Method. This is where you tell AI what you want it to do ...and you give it a bunch of info about whatever it is you're trying to sell. This part is important so be sure to watch it. Most people over-complicate it. Step 2: Finding the hook. We use AI to find all the cool selling points for the thing we want to sell ...and then we use it to do a little research and find the actual $22MM hook itself. (It centers around one single word. This part is super cool.) Step 3: Turning the hook into a sales letter. We turn that one hook into a full long-form sales letter in seconds. But that's not the cool part. The cool part is when we use AI to turn the first draft into a hard core "Pro Level" sales letter without even typing a single word. If your AI copy sounds like ...you know ...AI, this video shows you how to fix that.

What does it take to build one of the world's top-rated social media management platforms—without a single dollar of outside funding? This week on On Brand, Emeric Ernoult, founder and CEO of Agorapulse, shares how he bootstrapped the company to over $20 million in revenue, pioneered ROI-tracking tools for social, and carved out a powerful niche in a crowded market. We talk scaling smart, making social media actually measurable, and where attribution is headed next. What You'll Learn How Agorapulse bootstrapped its way to $20M+ in revenue without outside funding Why most startups chasing VC money miss what matters most for sustainable growth How attribution has evolved—and why measuring ROI on social is harder than ever The three ways marketers can actually track what's working (and what's not) Why the future isn't social media—it's “interest media” Episode Chapters (00:00) Intro (00:45) Bootstrapping Agorapulse the Hard Way (03:40) The Realities of Going Without Funding (07:20) Reinventing Through Growth and Churn (08:50) From Social Media to Interest Media (10:20) Why Attribution Is Broken (17:50) Three Ways to Track ROI That Actually Work (23:20) How Brands Can Win at Interest Media (29:00) The Brand That Made Emeric Smile About Emeric Ernoult Emeric Ernoult is the founder and CEO of Agorapulse, one of the world's top-rated social media management platforms. Bootstrapped from the ground up, Agorapulse has grown to more than $20 million in annual revenue—without taking a single dollar of outside funding. A pioneer in ROI-tracking for social media, Emeric has built his career around helping brands not just manage their social presence, but measure its real business impact. He's a frequent speaker and writer on marketing measurement, leadership, and scaling companies the sustainable way. What Brand Has Made Emeric Smile Recently? Emeric shared that Alex Hormozi—the entrepreneur and content creator—made him smile recently. After attending Hormozi's workshop in Las Vegas, Emeric was struck by his unfiltered mix of humor and humility. Hormozi's perspective—that we're all small in the grand scheme of things, so we might as well do good and enjoy the work—resonated deeply, especially after Emeric's trip to the Grand Canyon and Zion National Park reminded him of life's scale and simplicity. Richard McGirr kicks off a Capital Classroom solo session by translating big-name marketing frameworks from Russell Brunson and Alex Hormozi into practical strategies for capital raisers. He explains why LPs aren't really buying deals, but certainty of outcomes, and how stacking proof can 2–3x your conversions by de-risking the downside and building what he calls a “trust bank account.” Richard breaks down Hormozi's value equation and shows how debt funds, clear track records, and transparent reporting can dramatically increase the perceived likelihood of achievement for investors. He then walks through a concrete “proof sprint,” covering everything from monthly distribution tables and raw testimonials to live property tours, inspection reports, and third-party verification so your deal rooms and webinars become long-form proof engines instead of generic sales pitches. Of the original Fortune 500 list in 1955, only about 49–60 companies are still on the list today, depending on how you count mergers and breakups. That's roughly 10%–12% survival over ~70 years. Put differently, almost 90% of the biggest companies in America in 1955 are no longer there as standalone Fortune 500 companies today. The churn has actually sped up. • More than half of the Fortune 500 companies from the year 2000 are already gone by the mid-2020s, acquired, merged, went private, shrank, or died. • That's 25 years, not 50. On this week's Business Acquisition Podcast, I'll share my thoughts how you can best avoid being on that losing side of the statistics. I'll also give you a challenge! I was recently featured in Alex Hormozi's $100M Money Models as a case study—and in this video, I'm breaking down the exact playbooks we used to scale Well-Oiled from a $5M company to a $15M company (and beyond). Here's the thing: playbooks aren't just for massive corporations. If you're a small business owner and you don't have them in place, you're leaving money on the table and creating chaos for yourself and your team. I'll walk you through: The difference between SOPs, systems, and playbooks (and why most people confuse them) How we shifted from “this is how I do it” to “this is how we do it” as a company The 3 sales playbooks that skyrocketed our close rate from 27% to nearly 50% Why playbooks aren't just documents—they're the key to buying back your time, reducing turnover, and scaling without bottlenecks I've been running businesses for 20+ years, and I can tell you: without playbooks, you will hit a ceiling fast. With them, you get consistency, freedom, and growth.

In this thought-provoking episode, Bradley Hemner tackles Alex Hormozi's controversial characterization of the $1-3 million revenue range as "the swamp" - a challenging middle ground for business owners. Rather than simply critiquing Hormozi's perspective, Bradley offers a compelling counter-narrative that reframes this stage as potentially the dream outcome for many entrepreneurs seeking a lifestyle business built on the "Four F's" framework.Bradley shares, "I think for many entrepreneurs, a two to three million dollar business that's generating 20 to 30 percent net profit is quite frankly the dream." For many entrepreneurs, a $2-3 million business generating 20-30% net profit ($400K-$900K annually) plus reasonable salary represents the dream outcome. This level provides:Private schools for children.Luxury cars and great vacations.Overall financial freedom.Work-life balance and meaningful work. While Hormozi sees the $1-3M range as a challenge to overcome, Bradley positions it as potentially a destination to embrace - a profitable, sustainable business that aligns with personal goals and desired lifestyle.Join Bradley for The Quarterly September 23rd, 2025...The Quarterly is a business planning workshop.
