If you've been treating your next decision like THE decision, well... A lot of anxiety comes from believing your future hinges on getting the next move exactly right. However, there's a particular kind of pressure that shows up when you want your work to mean something, but you also don't want to blow up your finances, your nervous system, or your sense of self in the process. Today we explore how “one shot” thinking makes people more perfectionistic, more anxious, and often worse at taking risks, then offers a saner alternative: build a life that lets you keep trying. We get into purpose, career change, money, self-worth, and the quiet relief of realising you do not need a flawless master plan to move forward. Sometimes the healthiest thing you can do is stop demanding certainty and start creating conditions where curiosity can actually breathe. Ask whether you need the perfect path, or just the next honest experiment. Reduce pressure by making change more sustainable, not more dramatic. Treat failure as information, not a verdict on your future. Press play if you need a steadier way to move without pretending you're fearless. News: The past couple of weeks, we had been seeing reports that MagicBands were becoming more and more difficult to purchase at the Disneyland Resort. Officials have now confirmed that Disneyland is ending on-property sales of MagicBand˖ Existing interactive features, like Batuu Bounty Hunters, will remain functional for current owners, however no new shipments are expected once stock sells out at the few remaining retail locations. This change is exclusive to Disneyland Resort, as MagicBand+ will continue to be supported and sold at Walt Disney World, on Disney Cruise Line, and via the Disney Store online. – https://www.laughingplace.com/disney-parks/magicband-plus-disneyland-phase-out/ Star Wars fans can now head to the Star Wars Trading Post in Downtown Disney to create their own custom Galactic ID badges. For $15, fans can step into a specialized booth to choose their affiliation and have their photo printed on a unique, transparent plastic card that mimics the high-tech look from the films. The experience has become very popular! – https://www.micechat.com/435362-disneyland-hews-star-wars-land-awakens-vader-music-construction-more/ Disney has unveiled a “shriek peek” at its 2026 Halloween merchandise, featuring a massive collection of apparel, headwear, and home décor for the upcoming spooky season. Highlights include new “Create-Your-Own” headbands with mini plush characters, a Vampire Stitch plush, and a special collection inspired by the Haunted Mansion's tightrope walker. Exclusive designs for Oogie Boogie Bash were also shared. – https://disneyparksblog.com/products/shriek-peek-at-disney-halloween-merchandise-materializing-this-year/ In celebration of “Disney Week of Wishes,” the Disneyland Resort hosted the “Wishes Assemble” event, officially recruiting nearly 40 wish kids and their families into the ranks of the Avengers. These young heroes enjoyed a private party at the resort with special appearances by Marvel stars Anthony Mackie and Paul Bettany, followed by a day of “heroic” activities within the park. This special celebration highlights Disney's 45-year partnership with Make-A-Wish, focusing on creating life-changing memories for children with critical illnesses. – https://disneyparksblog.com/community-outreach/celebrating-disney-week-of-wishes-across-disney-experiences/ Former Disney CEO Bob Iger was recently honored with the inaugural WishMaker Lifetime Achievement Award during a special “Wishes Assemble” event at the Disneyland Resort. Since true holograms don't exist, Imagineers combined specialized projection tricks and visual effects to capture the authentic, flickering aesthetic of a Star Wars transmission. Stop Being a Crybaby: Are You Working the Deal or Waiting for a Miracle? The year is 2026, and the real estate market isn't what it was last year, let alone five years ago. If you find yourself struggling to close deals or complaining about a lack of funding, it's time for a serious reality check. In this episode, Scott Carson dives deep into the "mental side" of the business, stripping away the excuses that keep investors paralyzed. Whether you're a seasoned pro or a new realtor looking for distressed opportunities, the message is clear: Your success is directly tied to your marketing volume.Scott takes us back to his darkest days in 2009—living in a $400-a-month room, eating canned beans, and facing foreclosure himself. He didn't wait for a bailout or a "funding Jesus" to descend from the clouds. He hustled, expanded his market, and turned a desperate situation into a $35,000 wholesale win. If you're tired of being "sick and tired," this is the wake-up call you need to get off the sidelines and back into the game.Key Takeaways for the 2026 Market HustleExpand Your Horizons: Stop looking for deals in one tiny backyard. If your local area is dry, use the internet to market across multiple states where the inventory is actually moving.Fire Your "Old" Money Partners: If your previous investors refuse to fund distressed assets, sub-two deals, or non-performing notes, they aren't your partners anymore. You must go out and create new funding sources through aggressive networking. The 80% Rule of Sales: Most success happens after the fifth contact. Sending one email blast and giving up isn't marketing; it's laziness. You have to "carpet bomb" your message across Facebook, LinkedIn, and email databases.Leverage Case Studies: Even if you've only done a few deals, use them as proof of concept. Share your wins and your "near-foreclosures" as case studies to attract new investors.Show Up Where the Money Is: Stop avoiding the "scary" places. Go to local foreclosure auctions and REIA club meetings. The people bidding there have the cash you need; you are just one connection away from your next deal.Stop the Political Blame Game: Your bank account doesn't care who is in the White House. If you spend more time complaining about politics than you do skip-tracing leads, you are the reason you aren't succeeding.Dumbify the Deal: When presenting to new partners who don't understand the note business, break it down on a whiteboard. Show the numbers, the BPO, and the potential yield in simple terms. Conclusion: No Free LunchesAt the end of the day, you are where you are because of the decisions you've made. There is no "free lunch" in real estate. You have to be willing to make sacrifices—maybe that means stepping back from coaching soccer for a season so you can spend those two hours marketing your business.Remember Scott's $35K win: he didn't have the money to buy the note, but he had the "hustle jacket" on. He got the contract, marketed it everywhere, and closed the gap. Stop feeding yourself the "bullshit" that you aren't smart enough or good enough. Get beyond your comfort zone, take massive action, and remember: Chimichangas are for winners.Ready to get to work? Today on the podcast, I'm talking all about how you can create your own personalized IVF Plan. Have you ever used Google Maps and been redirected midway via a better route? Alternatively, maybe you're proactive in managing traffic and go directly to Waze to get you from point A to point B in the most time effective way? These apps are well-loved and widely used because they remove obstacles out of an otherwise potentially painful process, and they do so with data. I bring the beauty of Google Maps into my fertility care by serving as a personal navigator for every one of my patient's IVF care and talked about it here. We tell these apps where we want to go, they determine our starting point and formulate a plan. It's not a one-size fits-all-route; it is customized and updated in real-time to avoid the proverbial bumps along the way. I would get lost daily without this personalized navigation. Innovation isn't safe, and that's the point. In this episode, Cait dives into the unavoidable relationship between innovation and risk, and why true thought leadership requires the courage to step outside what's already been proven to work. Our nervous systems are conditioned to look for safety in what's familiar, validated, and widely accepted. That's why following trends (especially in online business and social media) can feel so compelling. Trending audios, formats, strategies, and formulas do work… until they don't. But innovation asks something different of us. Tune in to hear: Why innovation always requires creative risk and why that discomfort is a sign you're on the edge of growth The psychological reason we default to following trends (and how it impacts your thought leadership) The strategic difference between trend-following for growth and trend-creating for authority How to discern when a trend is serving your business and when it's shrinking your originality Why becoming a trend creator strengthens long-term brand positioning The power of building an "expander list" to stretch your creative thinking How taking bold creative risks sharpens your voice and activates true leadership If this episode resonates with you, don't forget to share it to your stories and tag @themillionairemother, or leave a 5-star rating and review on Apple Podcasts-it helps more mamas find this show.

The How of Business - How to start, run & grow a small business.
How small business owners can escape price-driven competition by redefining their market and creating a new category instead of competing in crowded spaces. Show Notes Page: https://www.thehowofbusiness.com/600-kevin-maney-create-your-category/ Many small business owners enter crowded markets and end up competing primarily on price. But according to author and business strategist Kevin Maney, there is another path: create your own category. In this conversation, Henry Lopez speaks with Kevin Maney about the ideas in his latest book "The Category Creation Formula." The discussion explores how entrepreneurs can redefine the problem they solve and differentiate their business in ways that eliminate direct price competition. Kevin explains that market categories exist primarily in the minds of customers. Businesses that successfully define a new category often become the default leader in that space and capture most of the attention and economic value. Rather than competing to be slightly better or slightly cheaper, the goal is to become meaningfully different. Kevin introduces the Category Creation Formula: Context + Missing + Innovation = New Category First, business owners must understand the context of how their customers' world is changing. Next, they identify what is missing in the current solutions. Finally, they introduce an innovation that solves that missing piece in a compelling new way. The conversation also explores the importance of storytelling in marketing. Instead of starting with features or products, businesses should begin with the problem customers experience. When customers feel understood, they become more open to new solutions. As Kevin explains: "It's better to be different than to try to be better." Through examples ranging from laundromats in Brooklyn to dishwasher repair services, Henry and Kevin demonstrate how entrepreneurs can redefine a problem, create a new category, and stand out even in highly saturated markets. If you're building or growing a small business, this episode offers practical insights into escaping the trap of competing only on price. Kevin Maney is a bestselling author, longtime business journalist, and co-founding partner of Category Design Advisors, where he helps leadership teams define and lead new market categories. He previously co-authored the influential book Play Bigger, which introduced the concept of category design to mainstream business audiences. Kevin's writing has appeared in major publications including Newsweek, Fortune, Wired, USA Today, and The Atlantic. This episode is hosted by Henry Lopez. Meagan is back behind the mic and reintroducing the Resting Bliss Face Podcast, sharing why she first launched it in 2019 as a fitness instructor and health coach with two little ones at home. Her goal then (and now) was simple: be a positive voice for women, remind them to take care of themselves, and help them expand what they believe is possible. Since those early episodes, life has grown in the best ways. Meagan welcomed a third baby and opened her own Pilates studio in her town, which just celebrated its two-year anniversary. In a world that often feels chaotic and loud, her mission remains the same: to hype you up, encourage you, and remind you that you're capable of more than you think. This episode centers around one powerful theme: creating opportunity instead of waiting for it. Meagan walks through her journey, from childhood dreams of working in Boston radio, to building a corporate career in mutual funds, landing a job at KISS 108, making the leap to New York radio, and choosing Equinox despite people warning her it was a "resume killer." That leap opened doors to roles at Rue La La and eventually being recruited by Yahoo. All the while, she was building her fitness career on the side, completing teacher training while working full-time, launching coaching programs, creating an on-demand platform during COVID (while pregnant and sick), and eventually opening her own studio after noticing a gap in her local community. She shares openly that she didn't have industry connections or family financial backing. What did she have? A willingness to bet on herself, over and over again. Setbacks weren't failures; they were lessons. Meagan also gives a few current updates: the studio is thriving, she's planning another retreat, teasing a new upcoming initiative, and has partnered with Atmosphera, a female-founded, climate-specific skincare company she genuinely loves. If you're curious, she invites you to reach out (no pressure at all) and mentions she'll include a link in the show notes! She wraps up by sharing that she now has a team helping edit the podcast, with a goal of releasing episodes twice a month. What if leading a retreat didn't mean doing it all yourself? In this episode, Whitney sits down with Karen Hattaway, founder of Life Beyond the Room, a DMC based in Italy, to explore how travel advisors can create signature retreats and small group trips without the overwhelm. Karen breaks down the difference between a retreat and a small group trip, why slower-paced, single-destination experiences attract seasoned travelers, and how partnering with a DMC can take the logistical weight off your shoulders. They dig into pricing strategies, ideal group sizes, how to fill seats through authentic marketing, and why signature retreats work best when you already know your clients and what they love. If you've been curious about hosting a retreat but hesitant because of the time and risk involved, this conversation offers a clear roadmap and a compelling case for collaboration over going it alone.

Read the blog postTL;DR: In a 1993 speech, Toyota leader Fujio Cho said organizations can create their own Lean systems, but success depends on three principles: leaders going to the gemba, asking “why” to learn from problems, and respecting and motivating people — not copying Lean tools.
Life Coach Business Building Podcast, The Business Building Boutique
Starting a business, is how you create your own economy in 2026. This is really critical, and I'm not here to scare anyone. I don't want to talk about politics, none of that. I'm just saying like the reality is, there is this financial gap. 55% of women over 50 say they don't have enough saved for retirement. Women live longer, they earn less over a lifetime, and they take more career breaks. The average Social Security check is not going to cover basic expenses for most people. I'll just tell you if you've got this inkling like I need to be doing something else, waiting is going to be the most expensive decision you can make. But here's what I discovered. Most of the women who are thriving, they're looking to create additional income streams. They're not dependent on one paycheck or what they have in retirement accounts or even on Social Security. I have women who are in their seventies and beyond coming to start coaching businesses. Seriously, 73, 75, 76, 77. Launching coaching businesses. I can tell you for sure it's not too late.If I haven't yet introduced myself to you, hello, I am Debbie Shadid, business coach and founder of the Business Building Boutique. I've been in business since 2000. I have helped thousands of coaches build profitable businesses with integrity. So I know this same roadmap can work for you too.Today what I want to do is I want to share some various online business ideas so you can see what route might be best for you. I'll tell you, this isn't theory. This is what I do. We cover:Why service-based businesses are the smartest choice (no inventory, no shipping, no warehouse)The real math: you could have five clients paying you $500 a month, that's $30,000 a yearHow to start a side hustle while keeping your full-time job.Knowledge is your product. Your experience is your inventory.Various service-based business ideas you can start from homeYou don't need to go back to school. There's only a few skills that you need, and I would say with the right guidance, that's it. The learning curve is small. I do want to tell you, you're not too old, you're also not too young, you're not too late and you're not behind. I want to invite you to just believe that you're just on time.Ready to explore what this could look like for you?Schedule your FREE Business Assessment: debbieshadid.com/scheduleWe'll talk about exactly where you are right now, where you want to go, and what you need to do to get there. Jose Berlanga explains how he created his own real estate market, why focus beats growth, and the costly mistakes developers make chasing trends. In this episode of RealDealChat, Jack Hoss sits down with Jose Berlanga, a veteran real estate developer and entrepreneur, to break down how he created demand where none existed—and why focus, patience, and clarity matter more than chasing hot markets.Jose shares how he started developing inner-city Houston neighborhoods when they were considered “unbuildable,” why fear actually guided his best decisions, and how saturating a small area with consistent product helped him establish pricing power and brand recognition long before the market caught up.The conversation dives deep into developer psychology, long real estate cycles, why chasing higher price points almost derailed his business, and the hard-earned leadership lessons he learned building (and rebuilding) teams. Jose also delivers one of the clearest frameworks you've heard on hiring, focus, and avoiding shiny object syndrome as an entrepreneur. This is a masterclass in long-term thinking for developers, investors, and business owners.

One of the things we've been talking about in our LABS program is Q4 sales strategies because we are heading into the holiday season which as you know, is one of the busiest times of year for product-based business owners. Today, I want to talk about one really powerful marketing strategy that often gets overlooked, but it's a good way to help drive sales for Q4. That strategy is being your own gift guide. I think there's a misconception for smaller product brands that big media or working with influencers on their product roundups is the only way to get more eyes on your products. While yes, these are good options and you can and should be pitching yourself to these opportunities, getting placement in larger media isn't the only way to shine a spotlight on your product. In fact, you can create your own gift guide experience and you can do this on your website, through your email list, across wholesale and retail channels. It's all done in the name of making it easier for your customers to purchase from you. So I'm going to walk you through how to do this, including how to set up your gift guide collections on Faire and Shopify, how to create emails that highlight those products, and how you can collaborate with other like-minded brands to expand your reach of your gift guide and perhaps share theirs too. Today's episode is brought to you by our Proof to Product resource library.
