A federal judge tells the Pentagon its Anthropic ban was “illegal and baseless” after Anthropic refused to remove safeguards that would allow Claude to be used for mass surveillance and autonomous weapons. Meanwhile, Sony and Warner are suing Anthropic over allegedly scraping and torrenting copyrighted music to train Claude, while a separate lawsuit accuses xAI of using child sexual abuse material in Grok training. Because nothing says “revolutionary technology” quite like a growing stack of lawsuits and federal judges.Elsewhere in the dystopian workplace, employees are increasingly fed up with AI, communities are pushing back against data centers, and one AI startup is fleeing that backlash for Saudi Arabia. Google's AI shopping mode is also accused of recommending products that cost significantly more than traditional search results, while Waymo and Zoox rack up injuries among test drivers. Tesla's Autopilot is implicated in another fatal crash, and FSD apparently still has a complicated relationship with freight trains. In the prediction-market casino, a federal appeals court sides with Nevada against Kalshi, while George Santos earns the platform's first lifetime ban for allegedly manipulating a market. And Meta's AI glasses are facing another privacy lawsuit, this time from the people who never bought the glasses but may have been recorded by them anyway.Plus, the new Twitter is back from the dead, complete with a $20 admission fee and an AI fact-checker named Vera; Sony would like you to understand that buying a digital game means you don't actually own the damn thing; Siri on the Apple Watch moves at approximately the speed of continental drift; JBL makes Wi-Fi speakers and we have Star Trek, Ted Lasso, Silo, Spaceballs, Wicked, The Traitors, The Gentlemen, and more. Noah Pines spent seven years as a prosecutor in Georgia — weighing sentences, navigating cases, trying to be a fair voice inside a system that does not always reward fairness — before leaving to become a criminal defense attorney and discovering what the justice system looks like from the other side of the courtroom. In this episode of Locked In with Ian Bick, he shares what being a Georgia prosecutor really required of him, why he left after seven years to defend the people he used to prosecute, what working Innocence Project cases and overturning twenty year wrongful conviction sentences actually involved, what the current problems with prosecutors in America actually look like from someone who spent seven years inside that world, and what representing people accused of the worst crimes available actually requires of the attorney who takes those cases. _____________________________________________ #lawyer #criminallaw #prosecutor #truecrimepodcast _____________________________________________ Thank you to CASH APP for sponsoring this episode: Download Cash App Today: https://click.cash.app/ui6m/6pao71et #CashAppPod Cash App is a financial services platform, not a bank. Will Donald Trump's new oil deal with Venezuela actually lower gas prices at the pump, or is it political optics? In this video, we break down the claims surrounding the White House's agreement with Venezuela involving 65 billion barrels of subterranean crude oil. From the fine print involving Barbados-headquartered North American Blue Energy Partners (NABEP) and businessman Alejandro Betancourt, to the massive infrastructure hurdles facing Venezuela's oil sector, we separate energy market facts from campaign narrative. In this video, we cover: • The reality behind the "65 billion barrels" claim and the Strategic Petroleum Reserve • The role of NABEP, private oil leases, and taxpayer risk exposure • Why energy economists agree this deal won't lower short-term gas prices • Major oil companies like ExxonMobil and ConocoPhillips hesitating over contract sanctity • The legal and constitutional questions surrounding interim President Delcy Rodríguez • How public financial guarantees socialize risk while privatizing profit Key Takeaways: Raw crude trapped thousands of feet underground cannot immediately affect global crude markets or retail pump prices. Developing these unrefined fields requires hundreds of billions in capital expenditures and years of work. Discover why this high-risk arrangement benefits private corporate interests while leaving American taxpayers on the hook. #energypolicy #GasPrices #OilMarket #Venezuela #Trump #Midterms #EconomicPolicy #StrategicPetroleumReserve Independent media has never been more important. In this September 2nd webinar, Tom opens his first livestream after summer break with updates from his summer, including time spent gardening, food processing, and preparing hundreds of jars, bottles, and freezer bags of homegrown vegetables, berries, pumpkins, and watermelon juice.Tom then previews the direction of upcoming webinars, explaining that he plans to address some of the feedback he has received around his claims about hormones, vitamins, omega-3s, and similar subjects. He clarifies that he is not simply saying “vitamins don't exist,” but rather questioning whether these chemicals have been rigorously proven to exist in living beings or natural foods in the way they are commonly described. He also announces that next week, Jordan Grant will join him to look specifically at vitamin D and the question of whether it has been found in living substances or natural substances like butter or cod liver oil. This week's news segment includes: -A BBC article about a trial being set for Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, described as the alleged 9/11 mastermind. Tom comments on the story in his “if you believe that, you'll believe just about anything” category.Highlights from this session include: -Tom examines the recent claims around ivermectin and fenbendazole/mebendazole as “groundbreaking” cancer treatments. -He reviews promotional material from The Wellness Company claiming that 84.4% of cancer patients in a 6-month follow-up group reported clinical benefit. -He points out the shifting language from “study” to “observational report” and emphasizes the importance of understanding what kind of research was actually done. -He notes that the outcomes were self-reported, including both the cancer status and the claimed improvements. -He highlights that the study began with 197 participants, but only 122 completed follow-up, leaving 75 people with no outcome information. -He explains that participants used varying doses, with some taking one capsule, others two, three, four, or variable doses, which he says makes it unlike a proper drug study. -He points out that many participants were also using other interventions, including supplements, diet changes, chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery, making it impossible to attribute outcomes solely to ivermectin and mebendazole. -He reviews criticism from TechARP and then compares those criticisms with the original paper, concluding that the critique was largely accurate on the study's limitations. -He argues that this was not a proper scientific cancer drug trial, but a self-reported observational cohort with no independent variable, no true control group, no verified diagnostic method provided, and too many uncontrolled factors. -He frames ivermectin and similar repurposed pharmaceutical drugs as part of the broader “health freedom” narrative that still accepts many of the same disease-model assumptions he questions.Tom closes by emphasizing that the goal of New Biology is to move away from fear-based, pharmaceutical-centered frameworks and toward a deeper understanding of life, health, illness, and what the body is actually doing. What happens when someone is so deeply caught in a scam that facts and logic no longer reach them?In this episode of Scam Rangers, host Ayelet Biger Levin sits down with Dr. Trina Clayeux, CEO of Give an Hour, to explore the emotional and psychological impact of scams and why empathy is so important in prevention, intervention and recovery. When someone is in the middle of a scam, they may be under intense pressure, emotionally invested or deeply manipulated. Simply telling them, “This is a scam,” may not work.Trina introduces a powerful green, yellow and red framework for understanding a victim's emotional state. If someone is in the red, bringing more logic may only push them further away. Instead, we need to recognize where they are, slow things down and adapt how we communicate.“Trust is the connective tissue to all of this.”The conversation also looks at the broader scam lifecycle, from early intervention to financial institution response, recovery and healing. Credit repair has a crime problem, and the shortcuts being sold as legal are federal crimes with real prison time behind them. In this episode, Daniel Rosen names the top five and shows you the legal disputes that actually work for your clients. Join Our FREE Start Repairing Credit Challenge: HERE The FTC just shut down a credit repair operation that took nearly $200 million from consumers, partly by filing fake identity theft reports on clients who never even asked for them. Daniel walks through the five scams that keep landing new business owners in trouble: CPNs and synthetic profiles, credit sweeps, rented tradelines, jamming the bureaus, and coaching a client to lie. Every one of them is the same lie wearing a different costume. For each scam, you get the legal move that actually works. Pull all three reports, separate the accurate items from the inaccurate ones, and write factual disputes backed by real documentation. When a bureau stonewalls you, escalate to the CFPB and get it on the record. Real removals hold up, because there is no honest shortcut that erases accurate, current information from a credit report. If you are just getting started, this is the episode that makes sure nobody can ever sell you a "loophole" again. Daniel has spent 20 years in this industry, and he lays out why the honest work is the only work that survives, for your clients and for your business. Daejon Love scammed women by pretending to be an NFL player, Eli Zaret stops by, Howard Stern trades Howard 101 for HBO, Lindsay Clancy crazies, Death of a Pastor's Wife on Netflix, Corey Feldman fibs, and no Hooters for Brian Hickerson. Eli Zaret joins the show today to declare the Detroit Tigers finished for the third time this season, the ending of Justin Verlander's career, the glorious return of College Football, USC's poor attendance, UM & MSU predictions, elderly CFB players, never-ending drama in the WNBA, Deshaun Watson's triumphant return, Green Bay Packers Josh Jacobs legal issues, Aaron Donald comes out of retirement, CTE ravaging former NFL players, Cowboys rookie Shiyazh Pete's trailblazing and more. Dolly Parton: Garth Brooks' daughter made Dolly's death all about her. CNN had to apologize after eulogizing Dolly with an incorrect photo. Dolly's charting like crazy. She once did a duet with Pee Wee Herman. Barbara Walters hated Dolly. Howard 101 is now Andy Cohen 101 on SiriusXM. Stern apparently has an HBO deal. Drew breaks down the good and bad in the world today. Zohran Mamdani mourns a murderer. Lindsay Clancy fans are out of control. Karen Read fans have a new hero. 85-year-old Donna Mills is raking in the dough on OnlyFans. Meanwhile, Honey Boo Boo's fat sister is getting other gigs due to her OnlyFans earnings. Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz are the most annoying nepo-couple ever. Brian Hickerson is not welcome at Hooters or Twin Peaks. Former NFL player, Alan Page, is a judge now. Hopefully he doesn't have CTE. Daejon Love scammed a bunch of chicks by pretending to be a wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers. Drew and Marc recommend Untold: The Testimony of Vince Young on Netflix. Robert De Niro stars in The Whisper Man. Spoiler: It sucks. Death of the Pastor's Wife on Netflix covers the sad tale of Mica Miller. Blake Lively posted about Hayden Panettiere and Michelle Trachtenberg saying "Be Kind" and it doesn't go well. Drew's stream is excellent thanks to Flomax. Markleverse: Meghan and Harry are booed in the UK. Montecito is glad to see the couple out of their town. The poor UK has to deal with her now and they're not happy about it. Fergie has weaseled her way back in the country under the cover of Harry and Meghan. Ian Wace funded the royal losers trip back to the UK because they don't pay for anything. We're hoping the citizens of the UK rise up against them. We learn that they give nauseating hugs. Corey Feldman clips continue to leak from Corey Feldman vs The World. Jim & Them may be responsible for the famous Monster Truck attack. Alabama Barker is accused of cultural appropriation. Nice parenting, Travis. Kylie Jenner wants bigger boobs. Better Half with Stas & Vic had Kylie on their crappy podcast. Stas & Vic are hot, but suck at their job. Hot privilege is rampant. Today we're diving into an absolutely wild romance scam involving a man accused of pretending to be a San Francisco 49ers wide receiver—or, depending on the day, an ultra-wealthy Swiss real estate mogul. Authorities say the four-year scheme targeted at least 26 women and brought in roughly $1.3 million. Apparently dating apps weren't stressful enough already. The details only get crazier. The alleged scam included social media accounts packed with 49ers gear, luxury cars and images designed to make the whole thing look legitimate. According to the story discussed on the show, some of the online material was AI-generated, and the fake identity became established enough online that search engines and AI tools reportedly started treating the guy like an actual football player. Then comes the fake wealth. Screenshots supposedly showed bank and investment accounts containing millions of dollars, and once relationships were established, an alleged accomplice would enter the picture as the “wealth manager.” Three-way calls, fake investment returns and promises of high-yield opportunities followed. When victims ran out of money or started asking questions? Suddenly their extremely successful NFL boyfriend became extremely unavailable. It launches the crew into a bigger conversation about romance scams, our weird relationship with wealth and just how easy it has become to manufacture an impressive-looking life online. Rafe points out that you barely need a real podcast anymore—you can film yourself in front of a microphone, dispense some motivational nonsense and convince the internet you've appeared on 400 episodes of something called The Alpha Wealth Mindset Experience.Okay, we made that title up. But you've absolutely seen that guy.Listeners pile on with stories of fake celebrities allegedly trying to scam people, including Martina McBride and Mark Harmon impersonators. If Mark Harmon suddenly slides into Mom's Facebook messages and needs $700 in gift cards, maybe call somebody. That's the kind of public service you only get from a funny podcast with absolutely no qualifications to provide public services. The show also tackles the old belief that celebrity deaths happen in threes and why our brains are so desperate to find patterns in random events. From there, we discover Goodwill is getting into the record-store business with a media-focused concept called Rewind. Vinyl, CDs, cassettes, VHS tapes, vintage audio gear and whatever forgotten three-disc CD changer somebody's mom finally convinced Dad to get out of the basement. It might be heaven. It might smell like somebody else's basement. Either way, we're interested. Then it's time for Crap on Celebrities, where things get wonderfully messy. The crew gets into music and entertainment news, including Olivia Rodrigo's Daisy Chain Fields Festival, Sarah McLachlan, Alanis Morissette and Stevie Nicks. That naturally becomes a debate over “Landslide,” including Lern's discovery that apparently nothing evacuates a Colorado bar faster than putting it on the jukebox. There's also Scott Weiland material headed for release, more Korn vinyl reissues, Limp Bizkit joining Spotify's billion-stream club and the continuing realization that the music of our youth is now getting 30th-anniversary editions. Awesome. Love having time itself personally attack us.Elsewhere, an 85-year-old Donna Mills is reportedly making serious money on OnlyFans without full nudity, which sends Rafe into an impromptu financial analysis of the subscription business model. This is technically economics if nobody from an accredited university is listening. The entertainment chaos continues with Coyote vs. Acme, a creepy movie called Buddy that basically asks what would happen if a beloved children's mascot completely snapped, and news of Tom Cruise returning as Cole Trickle for a Days of Thunder sequel alongside Anne Hathaway. The crew also discovers a movie about the creation of Hooters is in development, accidentally invents an entirely different restaurant concept during the conversation, and immediately starts yelling “trademark” because apparently that's how intellectual property law works now. Finally, we get famous musicians trashing other famous musicians. Jack White versus The Black Keys. Madonna versus Lady Gaga. Elton John versus Madonna. Kurt Cobain versus seemingly everybody. Courtney Love versus Taylor Swift. Nick Cave versus the Red Hot Chili Peppers. And Usher telling T-Pain that Auto-Tune messed up music.Nothing brings people together quite like extremely successful artists explaining why other extremely successful artists are terrible.Fake NFL stars. AI-generated lifestyles. Romance scams. KISS Army business. Celebrity impostors. Vinyl nostalgia. Music feuds. OnlyFans economics. Tom Cruise going racing again. And an alarming amount of discussion about Hooters. It's another funny podcast from The Rizzuto Show, where we examine the important stories of our time and then immediately ruin any chance of being taken seriously.Listen now, subscribe, and come back for more celebrity news, weird stories, pop culture commentary, St. Louis humor and daily chaos from Rizz and the gang.Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

This episode of the John Phillips Show is a must-listen for anyone who's ever been approached by a high-pressure salesperson at the mall. A consumer investigative reporter shares a shocking story about a company that's been scamming seniors out of thousands of dollars with its coercive sales tactics. The company, B & Co., has been operating under various names at malls across the country, including the Topanga Mall in Los Angeles. A developmentally disabled man, Victor Chisholm, was lured into spending tens of thousands of dollars on skincare products, leaving him with almost nothing. The reporter, Christine Lazar, went undercover to the store and experienced the same high-pressure sales pitch firsthand, paying $1,200 for a serum that promised to make her look decades younger. The conversation also touches on the responsibility of malls and corporations that rent space to these types of companies. The reporter believes that Westfield, the mall that hosts the B & Co. store, should be held accountable for allowing this predatory behavior to continue. The episode also explores the importance of consumer protection and the need for accountability in business practices. If you or a loved one has been a victim of this type of scam, the reporter wants to hear from you.
