What's up, basketball trainers? Summertime is a busy period for us trainers, and unlike last summer, I'm aiming to work fewer hours while making more money. I believe it's crucial to give 100% to our trainees, even if we want to reduce our workload. Scarcity and urgency are still effective strategies in our business, and although we see some drop-offs due to travel and other sports, there's also an influx of new customers. Right now, we're focusing on reducing expenses while maintaining the same number of clients. I'm revisiting the book "Gym Launch" and applying principles like offering fewer sessions, slightly increasing prices, billing on a 28-day cycle, and changing the teacher-to-athlete ratio. Additionally, I'm looking at where we can cut 20% of our expenses without losing customers, which has been a fascinating exercise. Facebook ads didn't perform well in May, so we're pausing them for June, but Google My Business has been incredibly helpful. I'm also excited to apply strategies from Gary V's new book and get more advice on social media content from Coach P. We're using YouTube more to boost our search engine ranking, which is already number one in our area. The summer season is a peak time for many of us, so it's crucial to maximize our availability. We recently had a mix of trainees coming and going, and we're tracking their behavior closely to use that data for future decisions. Last week was hectic with a Nike camp, so I took some time to analyze numbers and make informed decisions. I'll keep you posted on our progress, and I hope these insights are helpful for you. Leila Hormozi began her career at the age of twenty-one as a fitness trainer. After realizing that every business sells in different ways, she began to understand how to succeed in her field and became one of the top-selling personal trainers in Southern California. After meeting her now-husband, Alex, they propelled Gym Launch and several other businesses to success. They now run the multi-million dollar Acquisition.com, a holding company for their businesses, as well as a platform for investing in other businesses. They are not only running multiple businesses, but they are also influencers in that world and have built successful social media presences across multiple channels. In the second part of a two-part interview, Leila and Chris focus on some of the lessons she has learned from running her own businesses and being an investor in others. They talk about what Leila wants to focus on when investing in new businesses, the ins and outs of embracing personal quirks as a business leader, why critique is more important than compliments, and the transformative power of self-acceptance. Leila's specific approach to business, focusing on benefiting everyone involved rather than stepping on others to reach the top, is enlightening. She emphasizes the importance of creating a working environment where everyone loves to work and partner with the company. Her perspective on the future of her business and personal life is both intriguing and inspiring. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Her journey began with Gym Launch, where Cale, the current CEO, started as a client before becoming part of their team. Cale shared a story that underscores the impact of great follow-up. Here's the key takeaway: After signing up for their advertising, Cale received a call from Leila within a minute or two. When he didn't answer, she followed up with a text and another call. This persistence led to Cale's position as CEO and their strong relationship today. The lesson from Leila is clear: Be relentless in your follow-up efforts. Create Sales meetings in minutes. Lisa Thal is an Author, Speaker, and Business Coach. She has over 36 years of marketing, sales, and leadership experience. She wrote the book "Three Word Meetings."  Lisa coaches leaders on creating sales and business meetings with fun and interesting 3-word topics to create a conversation and inspire your sales team.   Episode 216 The Closer Framework.  Learn the Framework your team could use to help close more sales.    I want to ask you a question. How many pending clients do you have that have yet to close? Do you have the answer to what is keeping them from moving forward? After today's podcast, you will learn why the sale has stalled!    The art of sales is working with people and navigating their minds and emotions to help them get what they want.   I am always looking for better ways to help my team, you, and myself to communicate better with our prospects and clients. I was listening to a podcast titled $100 Million Business Strategies with Alex Hormozi. The title got my attention! I wanted to find a better way to help my team close more sales.   Alex started Gym Launch, selling as many customers as the gym could handle. He scaled the business to Acquisition.com, which invests in other start-ups. He is now worth over $100 Million. I love following successful people because they have done the hard work, faced setbacks, and have something to teach us from their journey. One thing I learned from the podcast was the Framework around the word C.L.O.S.E.R!   What is the closer Framework? The six-step C.L.O.S.E.R framework helps create meaningful dialogues, builds lasting relationships, and encourages a customer-focused selling approach. Clarify: This is where the salesperson stays curious and gains a deep understanding of why the prospect is seeking help.     A customer-focused model that moves beyond the limitations of high-pressure sales tactics and instead focuses on understanding the customer's needs and providing genuine value.    The six-step C.L.O.S.E.R framework helps create meaningful dialogues, builds lasting relationships, and encourages a customer-focused selling approach:   1. Clarify Why they are there. The salesperson digs deep to understand why the prospect is seeking help. It's about uncovering the underlying needs, wants, pain points, and challenges. A conversation that lays the foundation for creating trust. Questions like What are your challenges or goals right now? Why is it important to you?    2. Label them with a problem. Once you've clarified the client's situation, it's time to label the problem. Labeling makes the problem is critical. You are recapping what they said. For example: So it sounds like XX is your goal. Does that sound about right? Or would you agree?"   3. Overview of their past pain. This step involves what the client has tried in the past. Knowing their history helps avoid repeating past mistakes and builds empathy, demonstrating that you genuinely care about finding the best solution for them. Questions like: What have you tried so far to accomplish this? How long did you do it for? How long ago? Explain how it is not their fault; they may had a missing piece or two of the equation.   4. Sell The Vacation, not the plane flight. Rather than delving into the details that can be overwhelming, focus on painting a picture of the results - the end destination. You're selling them the vision of their success. Imagine if your team could focus on strategic tasks instead of time-consuming manual reports. What impact would that have on productivity and sales?   5. Explain away their concerns. Now, it's time to remove any obstacles or concerns. This step builds trust, showing the prospect that you're ready and capable of handling any issues that may arise. It's about assuring them that you've thought things through and have solutions. Questions like understanding past agreements that didn't work. Do you see the value we can bring to solving your challenges? Are you ready to work with us?   6. Reinforce their decision. People decide within the first 48 hours from the point of sale whether they will buy from you and your company. So, reinforce all the benefits of working with you to solve the problem they labeled. You could share,  You've decided to move forward with our strategy; you're on your way to a more productive and efficient sales process."     The Key is to complete all of the steps!       Our teams invest a lot of time to earn that first meeting with a prospect. So implementing The C.L.O.S.E.R framework puts the customer at the heart of the sales process, leading to immediate sales and fostering long-term relationships. The C.L.O.S.E.R framework could be the Key to unlocking your sales success.   Thanks for joining me this week. Could you do me a favor? HALO Talks

Play Episode Listen Later Aug 30, 2023 27:19

In this episode, Cale Owen of Gym Launch dives deep into strategies to help engage gym members, maximize profit, and help take business owners to the next level. Cale opens up about the challenge many gym-goers face - the reluctance to put in hard work and effort. He shares his recommendations on how to combat this and engage members by regularly reaching out to them, checking on their progress and well-being. (The simple handwritten card can be a game-changer in client retention!) Pete and Cale go on to discuss the (extremely!) broken marketing and advertising strategies all too prevalent in the fitness industry. Owen states, "The question then becomes . . . what is the offer? And are we able to monetize on that enough to where that new client that I just signed up from this ad pays not only for themselves, the cost to acquire them, but also pays for the next person plus profit in the 1st 30 days? That's the equation we look for. Can we make a profit and pay for 2 new customers right at sign up? . . . We teach gym owners how to be able to do that." When it comes to an effective rewards/incentive system, Cale and Pete both agree that aligning rewards with what clients truly value, rather than relying solely on cost and discounting is critical. (This is a lesson many in the industry have yet to learn, unfortunately.) It's crucial owners start thinking about marketing as an investment into their company, not a cost! Learn how to maximize profit per client and find ways to monetize beyond the all too common "race to zero" (and consequently showing lack of value for what we offer.)  Some key moments:  Jim Launch was founded by Alex and Leila Hormozi in 2016. Initially, they did gym makeovers and later switched to a licensing model with information courses and coaching. Gym Launch now offers more services to help gym owners reach more people and make profitable businesses. Maximize profit by understanding customer lifetime value. Adjust offer and pricing based on activities. Reward systems must be done creatively, offering what the client values. Regular client outreach is essential for gym retention. Gym owners should divide members into groups and reach out at least once a week, preferably twice. Sending personalized handwritten cards once a month or quarterly for larger gyms is a nice touch. Knowing clients' names and making them feel recognized is crucial for a successful gym. Fitness is always in demand, regardless of trends. A few key takeaways:  Building relationships and providing personalized support is crucial for gym owners to retain members. The speaker recommends reaching out to members regularly and sending handwritten cards to celebrate their achievements. Incorporating workout recovery products and services is essential for gyms to prevent losing customers to other recovery spas and services. Pete mentions HigherDose that offers various recovery products like infrared technology, LED light masks, and PEMF mats and blankets. The podcast discusses the broken model in the fitness industry and how gym owners struggle with marketing, advertising, and sales. Gym Launch offers a "done for you" system to help owners with lead generation, sales training, and client messaging. Knowing your numbers and staying cash flow positive is crucial. Understanding the lifetime value of clients and spending within means can lead to scaling and continuous spending for advertising and business growth. Gym owners should focus on maximizing profit per client and finding ways to monetize beyond membership fees, such as selling supplements. Additionally, implementing creative and meaningful reward systems based on what the client values can increase client retention and profitability. He's the poster child for entrepreneurialism on the internet, founding multiple eight and nine-figure businesses, including his current venture that does over $150M per year in revenue. He's one of the wisest founders and CEOs out there, not because he does so much, but because he knows when to do less. One of Alex's first successes, Gym Launch, proved how repeatable building multi-million dollar businesses can be. He quickly ramped up revenue, grew a team, and began cash-flowing seven figures. But, this was just the beginning. Over the past decade, Alex has advised numerous start-ups and established businesses, blowing revenue and sales figures out of the water by introducing easily-repeatable systems into the mixThere aren't many people who think like Alex is in his industry, or in any industry, to be fair. But, you don't need to be just like Alex to use his teachings in real life. In this episode, Alex lays out the scaling system that will make you seven figures before you know it.
