Click here to take the Leadership Assessment: http://firstresponderwellness.co/assessment 120 - You Don't Have to be Falling Apart to Need Healing - Kemmi Sadler In this episode of the First Responder Wellness Podcast, Conrad sits down with Kemmi Saddler, a former local law enforcement officer who went from dispatch to patrol—and then into a 20-year career with the Diplomatic Security Service, protecting people and places most of us will never see. Her story turns on a hinge: her last day in local policing was September 10, 2001—then, hours later, 9/11 reshaped everything. From Kuwait to Iraq, she describes the slow, invisible accumulation of stress: the “duck and cover” alarms you stop reacting to, the hypervigilance that becomes normal, and the body keeping score in ways you don't immediately recognize (TMJ, clenched teeth, numbing, alcohol as relief). What makes this conversation land is the honesty about what happens after the career—when the identity fades and the grief, guilt, and unresolved moments finally speak up. Kemmi shares how a podcast mention of ayahuasca sparked a two-year healing journey, not as a miracle cure, but as a door that required courage, surrender, and real integration work. The takeaway is simple and heavy: you don't have to be “falling apart” to need healing. If silence feels impossible, that might be the point. ABOUT KEMMI SADLER Kemmi Sadler is a retired U.S. Diplomat and Supervisory Special Agent with the U.S. Department of State's Diplomatic Security Service. Over a 26-year career as a sworn law enforcement officer and federal agent, she served in high-threat assignments across Iraq, Afghanistan, Uganda, Mexico, and El Salvador, where she received multiple Superior Honor Awards for leadership and crisis response. She began her law enforcement career as a police officer in St. Augustine, Florida. In April, Kemmi will walk 780 kms along the Camino de Santiago with her dog, Nona, in a pilgrimage called Nona's Way, continuing her commitment to service beyond the badge while raising awareness surrounding the need for mental health and trauma recovery in the first responder community. Kemmi is also the author of From the Badge to the Vine, a reflective memoir exploring moral injury, identity, and the long work of healing after a life shaped by service. Drawing from her lived experience, the book examines what it takes to carry insight into everyday life once the badge is turned in. klsadler.com Nona's Way Campaign nonasway.com / INSTAGRAM: @Nonas_Way_ +++++ FIRST RESPONDER WELLNESS PODCAST Order the PTSD911 Film and Educational Toolkit here: https://ptsd911movie.com/toolkit/ Web site: https://ptsd911movie.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ptsd911movie/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ptsd911movie/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClQ8jxjxYqHgFQixBK4Bl0Q Listen on Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/first-responder-wellness-podcast/id1535675703 Listen on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/2wW72dLZOKkO1QYUPzL2ih Purchase the PTSD911 film for your public safety agency or organization: https://ptsd911movie.com/toolkit/ The First Responder Wellness Podcast is a production of First Responder Wellness Solutions, LLC Copyright ©2026 First Responder Wellness Solutions, LLC - All rights Reserved.
It's News Day Tuesday on the Majority Report On today's program: The Trump administration continues its efforts to cover up the Epstein files. Rep. Becca Balint (D-VT) says that she looked into the unredacted Epstein files and discovered that Donald Trump never kicked Epstein out Mar-a-Lago as he claims. Ghislaine and Epstein both invoked the fifth amendment when asked about their experiences with Donald Trump. Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) points out the inconsistency in Ghislaine Maxwell not pleading the fifth when she spoke to Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche but now is using the fifth over questions that do not implicate her. Journalists from ProPublica, Jodi Cohen and Melissa Sanchez join Sam for a conversation about their piece "The Real Story Behind the Midnight Immigration Raid on a Chicago Apartment Building". In the Fun Half: Trump administration is expecting a devastating job numbers report on Wednesday and so they have sent out Peter Navarro and Kevin Hassett to blame the numbers on immigrants. The pedophile formerly known as Prince Andrew's ex-girlfriend says if you're not in the Epstein files "you're a loser". Howard Lutnick says he searched himself in the Epstein files "just like everyone else". Bill Maher is an idiot and a shill. His shilling and stupidity are especially blatant when he monologues about how kids aren't protesting the Christian massacres in Nigeria because "it doesn't involve Jews". all that and more To connect and organize with your local ICE rapid response team visit ICERRT.com The Congress switchboard number is (202) 224-3121. There's a moment in growth where it feels like your life is quietly falling apart. Things that used to make sense don't anymore. Motivation drops. The old version of you feels gone, but the new version hasn't fully arrived. In this episode, we talk about why everything often feels off right before real change happens. That strange in-between phase where you've outgrown your old life, but the next chapter hasn't materialized yet — and how easy it is to mistake that space for failure, stagnation, or regression. This is about the pause before momentum. The final shedding before alignment. And why feeling stuck doesn't mean you're doing something wrong — it usually means you're right on time.If you've been asking yourself, “Why does nothing feel right lately?” — this conversation will land.WORK WITH ME: https://stan.store/respectfullygabbyFollow for more on social media: www.instagram.com/respectfullygabbywww.tiktok.com/@respectfullygabby Grab a copy of my book: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FBN2NS9P
This is a free preview of a paid episode. To hear more, visit stayorgo.substack.comEpisode 94: In this episode, I start by inviting us to slow down together. I recorded this on February 8, 2026, and I could feel how loud life has been lately. Instead of showing up with a tidy bow and a perfect lesson, I let this be a real conversation between me and you. A place to breathe, to soften, and to tell the truth about what it feels like when your inner world is rearranging itself.Because today we are talking about falling apart, and why it might be the most honest thing your soul has ever done.I'm introducing you to a concept I just found this week and immediately knew I needed to bring to you: positive disintegration. The kind of breakdown that isn't a failure, but a signal. A sign that the strategies you used to survive, the roles you learned to play, and the fantasies you clung to are no longer able to hold back what you already know in your bones. In other words, it's not that you are breaking. It's that your denial is breaking. And something truer is trying to come through. We talk about why our culture fears endings, grief, and death, and how that fear shows up psychologically when we're in the crucible of change, especially when you're considering divorce. I connect this to the life-death-life cycle, to the way nature does this without apologizing, and to the brutal tenderness of becoming. If you've been feeling heavy, depressed, anxious, or stuck, I want you to hear this clearly: those feelings do not automatically mean you're doing it wrong. Sometimes they mean you're finally doing it right.I also share one of my favorite images for this process: the butterfly becoming the goo. That disorienting, humiliating, sacred middle. The place where you cannot go back to who you were, but you cannot yet see who you're becoming. If you're there right now, you are not behind. You are not broken. You are in the chrysalis. And I bring in two powerful texts that help us name what we're living: Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents and Women Who Run with the Wolves. We talk about Skeleton Woman, Lady Death, and what it means to stop throwing the parts of ourselves we fear off the cliff. We talk about building a foundation that can hold you through the unraveling, not by rushing to fix the feelings, but by staying with yourself inside them.If you're in that tender, terrifying season where everything you built your life on feels shaky, this episode is for you. It's a reminder that the breakdown might not be the end of your story. It might be the beginning of your true self returning.

More than 60 medals have been won so far by athletes at the 2026 Winter Olympics - including a silver for New Zealand - but these precious mementoes are barely surviving the celebrations. Women's downhill alpine skiing gold medallist Breezy Johnson hadn't even made it past her post-race media session with the BBC when hers fell apart. Games organisers are now investigating what has caused medals, of all colours, to crack or come apart. Sports reporter Felicity Reid spoke to Lisa Owen.

There are seasons when nothing is obviously wrong, and still you feel unsettled, emotional, or on edge. Your life still works. You're still capable. You're still handling what needs to be handled. But internally, something feels off, and you can't quite explain why. In this episode, Mischelle talks about why high-performing women can feel like they're falling apart even when everything looks fine on the surface. She explores what happens when years of responsibility, pressure, and constant engagement leave little space to process what you're carrying. This isn't a conversation about burnout, fixing yourself, or making dramatic changes. It's about understanding the internal signals that show up when there's no longer enough margin, and why clarity, steadiness, and emotional stability don't come from pushing harder. If you've been wondering why things feel heavier than they should, this episode will help you make sense of what you're experiencing, without judgment and without pressure.
The Kouri Richins murder trial begins February 23rd—and the prosecution has taken major hits before opening statements.Robert Crozier, the man who allegedly sold fentanyl to Kouri's housekeeper Carmen Lauber, has signed a sworn affidavit recanting his original statement. He now claims he sold OxyContin, not fentanyl, and says he was detoxing and "out of it" when he spoke to detectives in 2023.The defense argues this destroys the state's theory. If Crozier didn't provide fentanyl, Lauber couldn't have sold fentanyl to Kouri, and prosecutors can't place the murder weapon in her hands. Judge Richard Mrazik acknowledged this could "poke holes" in the case but denied bail anyway, saying substantial evidence remains. Now a new defense motion alleges prosecutors are intimidating witnesses—threatening arrest and suggesting immunity could be revoked if witnesses don't cooperate with additional preparation meetings.True Crime Today examines every pretrial ruling and what they mean for trial. The 26 financial fraud charges severed from the murder case. The domestic violence expert blocked entirely. The FBI profiler limited to rebuttal testimony only. The statements suppressed after detectives failed to Mirandize Kouri during a 2022 search. We also break down what prosecutors still have: Carmen Lauber's testimony, Eric's toxicology showing five times the lethal dose of fentanyl, the orange notebook allegedly detailing the night he died, and the "Walk the Dog" letter found in Kouri's jail cell that prosecutors call witness tampering. The defense says it was fiction. No fentanyl was ever recovered. No pills. No forensic link. 80% of Summit County residents recognize this case—and eight jurors from that county will decide Kouri's fate. This is everything you need to know before testimony begins.#KouriRichins #EricRichins #KouriRichinsTrial #TrueCrimeToday #WitnessRecants #FentanylMurder #WalkTheDogLetter #UtahMurderTrial #PretrialRulings #TrueCrimeJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? In this conversation with Pam Dwyer, we name something a lot of high-functioning people live with but rarely talk about: Quiet Depletion. It's that slow drain beneath the surface when you look like you're doing “great” to everyone else, but inside you're running on fumes, especially if you're a leader, caregiver, or creative carrying a lot of weight. We also unpack Delay the Binge, Pam's idea of building a pause before the reaction, the coping pattern, or the burnout. Not pressure. Not shame. Just space, enough space to choose differently. This is a natural continuation of our last conversation:Plus One (how the past shapes us) → Quiet Depletion (the hidden cost of nonstop pushing) → Delay the Binge (the purposeful pause that interrupts the pattern). If you've been holding it together for everybody, but you know you're slowly leaking energy… this episode will feel like someone finally turned the lights on.https://pamdwyerspeaker.com/
"To be a good writer, you have to really get into the visceral parts of the experience, right? You have to bring someone into that experience with you, which requires you to go back and understand every detail, every memory, all the visceral aspects of the experience, the sounds, the smells, everything that was happening," says Jane Marie Chen, author of Like a Wave We Break.Today we have Jane Marie Chen, author of Like a Wave We Break: A memoir of Falling Apart and Finding Myself. It's published by Harmony. It's a book whose ancestor is very clearly Eat, Pray, Love. A story of the cost of achievement and ambition, how childhood trauma permeates deep into adulthood, and the long nonlinear road to healing. Jane, being the entrepreneur she is, has quite the ecosystem around her memoir. At her website, there's a self-worth quiz. I don't feel like failing, so I'm not gonna take it. If I can't copy off the smart kid, then why take the test, am I right? She does speaking and leadership coaching, workshops on building resilience, and she recently delivered a TED talk about resilience.Jane is the former CEO and co-founder of Embrace Global, which developed infant incubators that helped more than 1,000,000 babies, many of which would have died without this technology. She was recognized as Forbes Impact 30 and receive the Economist Innovation Award, Fast Company Innovation Award, and the World Economic Forum Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award. She has an MBA from Stanford and a Masters in Public Administration from Harvard. Didn't I just have some clown on the show who studied at Yale and Harvard. What the fuck am I doing? If I don't feel inadequate, I don't feel alive, man.You can learn more about Jane at janemariechen.com and follow her, let's just say on the gram, at janemarie.chen.In this podcast, we talk about: How she wrote the book to help people The importance of surfing in her life What's enough? Burnout Writing the visceral Zooming in and Zooming out Playing with timelines Working with a collaborative writer Writing to leave the past in the past And not wanting to write a prescriptive memoirSome pretty rich shit, man, parting shot on, shit if I know, so let's queue up the montage. What happens when grief hits your relationship? Every single one of us will face it — but how you handle it as a couple can either bring you closer together or tear you apart. In this episode, John and Nicole get brutally honest about navigating grief while in a relationship. From losing parents to watching your partner struggle, they break down the uncomfortable truths nobody talks about — including why your grief isn't a free pass to treat people badly, and why shutting your partner out actually hurts more than letting them in.

When problems show up in your life, it is easy to believe that everything is going in the wrong direction. Stress builds, anxiety takes over, and suddenly it feels like life is falling apart, even when many things are actually working. In this episode of 10 Minutes to Less Suffering, I talk about why having problems does not mean your life is bad or broken. We explore why problems are often unrelated, how negative thinking creates stress and exhaustion, and why focusing only on what is wrong can cause us to miss what is right. I also walk you through simple ways to separate your problems, recognize what is working in your life, and use the maybe practice to soften fear and reopen possibility. Problems come and go. Life is always changing. Even when things do not resolve the way we expect, there are many ways to be okay. If you are feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or anxious about where your life is headed, this episode offers perspective, grounding, and relief. The school year has barely started… and mornings are chaos, afternoons are meltdowns, and bedtime is a war zone. If your family routine is already off the rails, you’re not alone — and you’re not failing. In this short, evidence-based episode, Justin & Kylie share two powerhouse strategies backed by world-class research that will instantly reduce friction, restore calm, and get your days flowing again. KEY POINTS Most families don’t have ten problems — they have one bottleneck. Fix that, and everything downstream improves. Use three questions to identify your real bottleneck (not the symptoms). Mornings, after-school collapse, bedtime battles, and parent bottlenecks are the most common trouble spots. Decision fatigue breaks routines. Successful families minimise decisions by using defaults, patterns, and routines. One-time decisions beat daily debates: uniforms, breakfast rotation, meal rosters, after-school defaults, and bedtime rules. QUOTE OF THE EPISODE “Family routine falls apart because you’re burning willpower on low-value repetitive decisions instead of creating a system that lets you make the decision once — then keep it on repeat.” RESOURCES MENTIONED Theory of Constraints — Eli Goldratt (bottlenecks & flow) Paradox of Choice — Barry Schwartz (decision overload) Decision Architecture — Chip Heath Skylight Calendar (not sponsored) — digital scheduling & defaults tool ACTION STEPS FOR PARENTS Identify the bottleneck: Ask: When does chaos peak? What task derails everything? What’s the domino? Fix that first. Engineer it out of existence: Change the environment, not the child — uniforms ready, lunches packed, shoes found the night before. Create defaults: Breakfast rotation, meal roster, after-school ritual, homework spot, bedtime time. Save willpower for what matters. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Many people today lament the end of the world. And while we are entering into a period of rapid change, the real cause isn't political or ideological. We're in this situation because no one is turning down the genie: our magical technologies that effortlessly fulfill desire. It's not in our nature to turn down easy gratification – and expecting others to do so is unrealistic. This is why the world is falling apart. Many women ages 35–55 describe this stage of life as feeling like they are suddenly falling apart. Patience disappears, tolerance drops, exhaustion deepens, sleep becomes disrupted, emotions feel closer to the surface, and the body often hurts more than it used to. For sensitive, autistic, and neurodivergent women, this experience can feel especially intense and confusing. In this episode, Julie Bjelland, LMFT, explores what is really happening beneath the surface. She explains how perimenopause and menopause affect the brain, nervous system, sleep, pain, and stress tolerance, why estrogen plays such a critical role, and why hormone testing often fails to capture what women are actually experiencing. Julie also discusses the widespread lack of menopause education among doctors, why women are so often dismissed or prescribed antidepressants instead of receiving hormone-informed care, and what current research is saying about hormone therapy. This episode also explores why midlife can become a “perfect storm” for sensitive, autistic, and ADHD women, why masking often becomes unsustainable, and why so many women discover they are autistic during this stage of life. Julie shares why autism identification is often the missing piece that brings relief, compassion, and clarity, why standardized assessments frequently miss high-masking women, and how neurodiversity-affirming assessments can support deeper self-understanding.If you've been wondering why everything suddenly feels harder, this episode offers validation, education, and hope. You are not broken. Your nervous system is responding to real biological and neurological changes, and understanding what's happening can be the first step toward relief and more compassionate support.

Back in 2017, I titled that chapter “What If Things Fall Apart?”, and honestly, I don't think anything could be more relevant right now. It feels like so many of us are wandering through our own wilderness—feeling lost, lonely, and afraid. Afraid of what's ahead. Afraid of what could be. Afraid of what our anxiety says about us. Afraid of what happens if things really do fall apart. That's why I'm sharing this chapter with you today. My prayer is that it brings peace about the future and reminds you to find your own stones of remembrance—those markers of God's faithfulness that anchor us when fear tries to take over. At the end of the episode, I'll not only share practical tools and encouragement to help you fight fear, but I encourage you to take one specific step: pick a stone of remembrance today, write it down, and let it remind you of God's faithfulness as you step into 2026 with greater confidence. The Packers find themselves in a position they never should have been in. After a brutal loss to the Bears that saw both Jordan Love and Malik Willis leave with injuries, Green Bay's playoff hopes now hang by a thread. With only two offensive players grading above 70 and eleven below average on defense, this was one of the ugliest PFF performances of the season—and it came at the worst possible time. Ryan dives deep into the film, calling out the offensive line struggles that continue to plague this team, particularly Aaron Banks' dismal 45 overall grade. The defense wasn't any better, with zero players earning a 70 or higher in coverage. Meanwhile, Rashan Gary led the team with four pressures while Lucas Van Ness showed promise with a 17.6% pressure rate. The only silver lining? The Lions' playoff probability has plummeted to 6%, needing the Packers to completely collapse while they win out. Looking ahead to a crucial Week 17 matchup against Baltimore, both teams face serious quarterback uncertainty as Lamar Jackson deals with a significant back contusion. The path to the playoffs is simple: win one game. The question is whether this battered team can rise to the occasion. This episode is brought to you by PrizePicks!
