Chinese is an arduous language to learn and there's a strategy to take it on. That's what our guest Lawrence Feldman wrote in his book, ‘Mastering Mandarin: Expert Hacks for Expats or Anyone to Fly from Zero to Fluency with Maximum Efficiency'.  I like to look at this as the learning-Chinese-motivational-episode. Lawrence and I both know what it's like to go to China without speaking Chinese, but both later got a handle of the language which greatly improved our lives in China. Roy Yeo is from Singapore, but he's spent the last 18 years in Shanghai. Before that, he was in South Africa. Throughout, he's spent his time as a creative in the ad industry.  Roy shares how he got into advertising and opens up about the masochist nature of the creative process in the industry. Roy won some Cannes Lions during his career too, which led to some colorful discussions about Singapore's contributions to award culture in the ad industry. Aaron Diaz has spent several years in Asia honing his songwriting skills and releasing music independently. You ever think about working at an international school? In this episode, international school teacher Nickolas Harris shares the ins-and-outs of the international school circuit.  Nickolas and I both went to the American School In Japan (ASIJ) growing up.
