Most of modern relationship culture teaches people to secure their worth by raising the standard on what others must deliver. The louder the declaration of “I deserve more,” the more evolved one is presumed to be. But this entire framework rests on a fundamental inversion: it asks the external world to supply the quality of presence, consistency, and care that the individual has not yet committed to supplying for themselves. This is an outside-in approach to an inside-out problem. When you require others to give you a level of emotional and energetic investment that you have not consistently given to your own interior, you are not setting a standard. You are outsourcing the development of your own self-relationship. You are asking another person to finish what you have left incomplete with yourself. In this arrangement, their effort becomes responsible for regulating what your own consistency has not yet stabilized.
Thursday May 14th, 2026: There's a part of the mental load that no one really talks about… your own thoughts. The constant questioning. The nonstop noise. The invisible checklist running through your brain 24/7.In today's solo episode, I talk about a bit of an epiphany I had recently: why am I working so much? Somewhere along the way, I slipped into full workaholic mode and started prioritizing productivity over the things I'm constantly stressed about “neglecting”, home cooked meals, organizing the house, quality time with family, maintaining friendships, slowing down, and actually enjoying my life.So this summer? I'm embracing a bare minimum summer. Doing what truly needs to get done and letting the rest go. Because I only get one summer where Milo is 7 years old, and honestly? This might be my favourite age yet. The BEST. I don't want to miss it because I was too busy answering emails or chasing productivity for no reason.I also get into the exhausting mental gymnastics of motherhood and womanhood… the constant second guessing, guilt, overthinking, and pressure to optimize everything. Why does my brain work like this? Why does it feel like moms carry around so much unnecessary noise in our heads? And why do I know for a fact my husband is not spiraling over whether we've done enough reading practice this week?If your brain also feels like 47 tabs are open at all times, this episode is for you. Enjoy!See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Every time Dr. Jennie Young used Bumble or Hinge, the same thing happened: high hopes on day one, horror by day two. Then she remembered what she does for a living.Dr. Jennie is a rhetoric professor. She spent years doing critical discourse analysis on high school disciplinary handbooks — coding for toxic, gendered language patterns hidden inside official policies. One day, she turned that same academic lens on men's dating profiles. What she found? Thirty-three distinct rhetorical patterns. The Blue Ribbon for Bare Minimum. The Cuddle Bears. The Test-and-Apologize. Patterns that reveal — before the first date — exactly what kind of man you're dealing with.Over 260,000 women are now using her Burned Haystack Dating Method to stop calculating and start recognizing. In this episode, Dr. Jennie and I get into all of it — the patterns, the political landscape of dating in 2026, why women are not too picky, and what a genuinely good profile actually looks like. She also shares how she used her own method to find her partner. You've already seen these profile patterns. This episode will help you interpret them.If you want to build your own dating strategy from your core values — not someone else's checklist — book a relationship strategy session with me:

Here's the real question you need to ask yourself: how much longer will you stick around for people who don't deserve you? How much longer will you give them access to the love and loyalty they take for granted? The harsh truth is that sometimes the only way people will see your true value, is if you let them miss out on you. In today's episode of Hot and Unbothered, your host Brianna Gomez dives into something we all struggle with: finally breaking free from situations we KNOW aren't good for us, even when it's hard to leave. From dating to friendships, we all have that one relationship that feels as if our love has to be earned and our worth has to be proven- and it's STILL not enough. Tune in for the wakeup call you didn't know you needed to take back your power, detach from situations where your worth isn't seen, and recenter your focus on self love to never accept the bare minimum again.

In this episode, we discuss how to move away from feeling like your business is draining you to building a bare minimum business. In this transformative episode, I break down why the popular 50/50 relationship model is actually setting you up for resentment and failure. Inspired by a conversation with my son about how my partner Joe plans our dates (including an incredible birthday trip to Charleston), I reveal the four types of people in relationships: Low Effort, Bare Minimum, true Partners, and Pleasers. If you've been attracting low-effort partners or find yourself constantly keeping score and feeling depleted, this episode will help you understand the patterns keeping you stuck. Whether you've been settling for bare minimum effort or giving everything and getting nothing back, this episode offers a roadmap for becoming the kind of partner who naturally attracts a 100/100 relationship.Ready to fast track your healing? Rianne Lelia Bateeze, founder of Wellness With Her Club, dropped truth bombs that will make you rethink everything you thought you knew about health, productivity, and what it really takes to build a thriving economy. Like;→ Emergency pills are causing cancer in university students (and nobody's talking about it) → A woman went 5 years without a checkup, turned out her "weight gain" was fibroids → Uganda tops Africa's mental health crisis list→ Someone literally said "This transport system pulled out my nervous system and broke it into pieces" → Nairobi City County Cabinet just declared menstrual leave for women (YES, REALLY)Rianne breaks down why wellness isn't complicated but actually "BARE MINIMUM".You don't need a gym membership. You don't need expensive supplements. You don't need to be perfect. You just need to START.

Being good at what you do? That's the baseline now. In today's market, competence secures loyalty — but it does not secure demand. Your clients aren't choosing between you and the person an hour away anymore. They're choosing between you and the entire internet. In this episode of the Authority season, we unpack why "being good" is no longer a differentiator in rural and regional business — and why visibility, positioning, and authority are now the leverage points that drive scale. The geography walls are gone. Buyers are researching, Googling, comparing, and fact-checking before they ever reach out. If your digital presence doesn't reflect your real capability, you're losing opportunities you don't even know existed. This episode will shift you from "I do great work" to "I am the obvious choice."
The person who looks more authoritative online is often perceived as more competent. Even if they are not. In this episode, I unpack why competence is now the entry requirement, not the advantage. And why regional women, in particular, cannot afford to rely on word of mouth reputation alone. If you have built something solid but still feel like you are competing on effort, explaining your pricing, or being overlooked by louder voices, this one is for you. Being good built your foundation. Authority is what builds your future. If you are ready for the next step. Book an interview with Tori here. Check out the Regional Experts here.
If someone keeps texting but never makes plans, says “we'll see,” or gives just enough to keep you hooked, this episode is for you. We break down breadcrumbing and bare minimum dating, including mixed signals, strategic ambiguity, and future faking—and why inconsistency keeps your brain stuck chasing clarity instead of connection. You'll learn how to tell the difference between someone who's genuinely busy versus emotionally unavailable, and why ambiguity fuels anxiety and attachment loops. We also shift the focus back to you: why accepting breadcrumbs can feel familiar, how nervous system wiring and cognitive bias keep you stuck, and what actually helps you walk away without self-abandonment. This episode gives you clear language, practical scripts, and grounded tools to choose consistency over confusion in dating and relationships. Big announcement: For the first time ever, I'm hosting a live workshop and you're invited. If dating feels exhausting and you can't figure out why it keeps ending the same way, this is for you. You'll be the first to learn my new 3-step framework for understanding what's keeping you stuck and how to change it. Plus you get my implementation workbook. REGISTER HERE! Don't Settle for Bare Minimum Spirituality (Ephesians 3:14-17) | Mike Kelsey
We are back from our Christmas break and wanted to share what happened! Of course... nothing goes the way any of us planned.A girl went viral recently for sharing her first date bare minimum requirements. It wasn't really the requirements that made her go viral but some of the comments she made in addition to said requirements.2026 is big for movies so someone put together a list of the most anticipated movies of the year. When going through the list, Eddie felt like there were some missing...
If you're here for a perfectly curated tablescape, a stunning holiday gift guide, or expert tips on how to make your mantle look like the cover of a magazine… sweet friend, this is not that podcast. Welcome to the season of doing less, and honestly? It feels amazing. This week, I'm declaring a personal holiday revolution: I am officially going medium. No more crying on Christmas Eve because I tried to hand-bake, hand-tie, hand-craft, and hand-everything my way into the “perfect” holiday. Penn and I talk about the art of letting go, the magic of setting boundaries without apologizing, and why aluminum foil might be the world's most underrated wrapping paper. We also hear from you on Laugh Line including an unwanted-gift exchange that absolutely needs to be a nationwide movement and the emotional fallout of Presidential Physical Fitness Test. (Sidenote: "I lied or actively cheated" may be our most favorite line of the year.) Finally, we talk about holiday traditions of yesteryear and what we would bring back. This year, the cookies might be store-bought, the tree might be fake, the gifts might be wrapped at a solid C+, but the joy? The joy is staying. We love to hear from you (and tell us what you want in 2026!) leave us a message at 323-364-3929 or write the show at podcast@theholdernessfamily.com. Disclaimer: We are not professionals. This podcast is opinioned based and from life experience. This is for entertainment purposes only. Opinions helped by our guests may not reflect our own. But we love a good conversation. In this unfiltered 2 Be Better Podcast episode, Chris and Peaches break down the “princess treatment” trend, the bare minimum vs princess treatment challenge, and a viral Rolling Stone article attacking trad wives and traditional gender roles. They react to the Princess and the Pe fairy tale, the TikTok hose challenge, and the idea that opening doors, pumping gas, ordering for your wife, and protecting her in public is “over the top” or “misogynistic.” You will hear a blunt, masculine perspective on chivalry, equality, and partnership, why “I don't need a man” is propaganda, and the difference between being fully capable on your own and actually wanting to be loved, protected, and prioritized in a traditional marriage. From there they zoom out and tackle the bigger culture war around trad wife content, feminism, and the dating crisis, including why so many men are afraid to approach women, why women who want to be stay at home wives are shamed online, and how real men see the value of a feminine, nurturing wife raising the next generation. They also go deep on blended families and step-parent hate, defending stepdads and stepmoms who choose to love and raise children that are not biologically theirs, and showing how that role can completely change a kid's future. If you care about traditional marriage, princess treatment vs bare minimum, trad wife life, chivalry in relationships, step-parent dynamics, and building a strong, functional family instead of living for internet approval, this video is going to hit hard and give you language for the standards you actually want to live by.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/2-be-better--5828421/support.
